If I could give zero stars I would.
Nothing has improved in all the time I have been forced to use it since my kids school saw fit to use it. I have to delete and reload on a daily basis, sometimes multiple times a day!! I have fed this back to school who have reported it to the provider and nothing has changed. Would not recommend this to any school.

Pretty good app when it opens - unfortunately this is the main issue as others have written - very often it opens up to a blank/white screen and you are unable to access unless you turn the phone off and on again. This app has never opened first time on 2 different model iPhones and 2 different iPads, and I am used to having to force close it and reopen it to get anything more than a blank white screen.
Since the beginning of this academic year it’s no longer possible to view any comments made by staff against events recorded, and I have to email the school to ask for details! Raised this with school and the company who make this app in September 2023 and no indication when this issue will be resolved.

My daughters just started year 7. This looks like it’s going to be a very useful app. Been able to track her homework, behaviour and attendance. However I regularly open the app to have nothing more than a white screen, even though I have full Internet access (iPhone). This makes the app very frustrating to use as the only way to bypass this is the turn my phone off and on again.

Classchart is a useful resource to keep track of my daughters progress, behaviour and homework assignments. It’s also of value for pupils to organise their work.
The one hassle is that it crashes to a blank screen when opened. You have to force close it and then re-launch.

I have the iPhone 14 and this app rarely works on it. Upon opening it, I just get a blank white screen. When I delete the app and re-install it, it works but as soon as you come out of it and go back into it, I am back to the blank white screen. My daughter has just started high school & her homework, attendance etc. is all contained within this app & I really don’t want 5 years of uninstalling and reinstalling the class chart parents app every time I need to use it. Please sort this issue out - us parents have enough on our plates as it is!

This app is infuriating to use. I’m logged out of it multiple times a day, and there’s times when I get the white screen too. The creators need to fix these issues. So many schools use the platform, and I think because they do, they refuse to fix these problems. They know that schools will still use it with its bugs! If I could use a different app, I’d gladly do so!

This app is good when it works but 90% of the time when I try to use it I get a white screen so have to ask other family members to open the app on other devices and tell me what my sons homework is. I have an iPhone13 so new technology. I’ve suffered this app for 4 years using different phones and I’ve seen no improvement. My son and daughter are having issues at the moment and it has been my best way of communication with their teachers which has been very important. I am now struggling to get important messages to the teachers quickly when needed. This APP is useless and needs updating or better still deleting completely and the school using something more reliable.

When I open the app it has been a blank screen for a week now. I get notified of a letter from my daughters school, but I can’t read it as the app just gives me a blank screen. I hope the letter is not urgent. I’m going to have to email the school. Given the bad reviews- I think it might be an idea for the school to get a different app if you’re not going to sort it out. When the app works it is good, but I often get a white screen when I try to open it. If I restart the app then it works.
Also it’s load time is quite slow (even on a fast device), it makes no sense as there is not much to load - it’s a very simple app.
Looking at the other reviews I can see others have experienced the same issues. It would be good if the developers responded and addressed these problems, this is a service that schools are paying for.

My sons school have recently started using this app to reward behaviour and allow parents to track / reward as well. I can probably get into it once a day! I’m having to constantly uninstall and then reinstall it as if I try to access it more than once, I just get a blank screen!! Not helpful when there’s multiple lessons a day that they are getting rewards for!
Also cannot backdate rewards so if I wanted to reward for homework done over weekend, it doesn’t allow you to do it?!

I know some options have to be selected by each school but surely a pop up notification on new homework set/detentions/overdue homework would be easy to integrate. Sometimes the teachers don’t say they’ve put work on class charts which then causes arguments as student is unaware which like mentioned would be sorted if a pop up were available…I know it can be done as we get one for messages via class charts

Our school uses this app to share announcements - but unfortunately it’s barely fit for purpose. Every time I open the app I get a blank screen and have to close then reopen to successfully load it. Even after it loads the functionality is very basic. As an announcement tool it really needs search capability. With 2 kids and several announcements coming each day information very quickly becomes difficult to locate. Search functionality would help address that challenge.

My eldest child’s upper school have recently moved from Satchel (with its nice user interface, parent alerts for homework due dates, easy for students to use, no blank screens!) to ClassCharts. The middle school used it for the 3 years before this but really only as a behaviour award system and occasional homework task setting. I’m used to interacting with this app over the last 4 years but only when I absolutely have to. Please bug fix the iPhone white screen, numerous reviews on here about it & no update forthcoming that I’ve seen. Would do well to look at competitors offerings as I think the app needs to up its game if it’s to continue to compete.

Our school had moved from two more effective apps for two different purposes (homework and timetable/student behaviour) to this. Good to have it all in one place but there are a few frustrations. On an iPhone the app ‘crashes’ or doesn’t reopen giving you a blank screen when you revisit later in the day or next day and you have to close it by swiping up your apps, before restarting it.
The homework files don’t all open to view easily on apple devices.

An obvious one would be to have the option fir homework due dates feed to everyday calendars. Really old tech, astonishing it isn’t there.
Also the behaviour points are ok but without being able to dig more into the specific detail of why a point has been awarded, it’s pretty meaningless. Repeatedly reading that my child has scored a pony for “curiosity” is lovely but I would like to know what it’s for.
That’s after 15 minutes of using it.

The layout was better before the last update. The homework menu was simple and you could access previous completed work easily. The new format has made old work irretrievable and the information bars at the top are not accurate, do not open as links to work and generally get in the way. Please go back to how it was!!!

App works well, but the app needs a pop up notification for when homework is set and approaching the due date. This is needed on both parent and student versions.
The app would be clearer if it just showed incomplete including optional homework,(see my notes below) for all dates, and hide, by default, all the submitted and complete homework.
Add a option to temporarily redisplay what has been hidden, but then default back to incomplete only.
We got caught out during lockdown when some set homework had disappeared due to the date filter, which, we didn't realise could be set, we thought we were all up to date, but lots of had dropped off screen.
This change would encourage frequent use of the app encouraging children to tick off properly, as every one likes to see a clear screen.
Although we can’t see this, there may be a teacher version, please add a option for the teacher to identify homework as mandatory or optional / additional.
Developers please consider this request I’m sure other parents would agree

The premise behind this app is that all children are badly behaved and need to be shamed. The home page shows only ‘Number of Detentions’ and ‘Detentions Pending’ - nothing about achievements and points gained. The individual student dashboards are then titled ‘Behaviour’ - with all its negative connotations. If your child is struggling, then it should be the school telling you, not some awful app which may well share the info with future employers. Also, there are no notifications so you have to actively go into the app to find daily info. Awful.

This is a good idea, poor execution with many potential features missing. Data display for homework is too basic and lacks filtering. Behaviour graphs are potentially useful but not in the current implementation. Would be good to have two way communication with staff/parents/children - not sure if this is available and just not used by our school.
Overall the app is rather unreliable, on balance probably worth having but needs to improve - quickly.

The app is OK simply because I can see the homework set for my son and it’s due date. Together we can keep track and ensure good progress. The downfall of the app is the sheer basic bare minimum settings available. It would be helpful if we could mark the status of my sons homework in real time: started; complete; submitted etc. From a parents point of view I would be able to see where he’s up to and make sure things are on schedule, and from my son’s point of view, he would be able to quickly see how much he had left to do, leading to much better time management.

Our school is using this app for behaviour recording and, now, homework, meaning that I have to use it. Given it’s something that I now have to check every day it is SO annoying that it won’t remember me regardless of whether the “remember me” box is ticked or not at login. Argh! This makes it a chore to log in.
Other than that the app seems to pretty much do what it has to, although it’s pretty basic and not all that user-friendly. I wouldn’t use it if I didn’t have to...

The app is quite good and would probably get 3 or 4 stars but is seriously let down by two things.
1. The homework screen gets very cluttered and way you select the period you want to view homework due in needs a rethink. By default the homework view should just be all upcoming homework. Also why does the homework view have all the children on our instead of being able to select the child you want to view like the behaviour screen.
2. The real issue that makes the review one star - it will not "remember me" whether that box is ticked at login or unticked. Seriously, once I've logged in I should never have to enter the details again. This is an iPhone app so the access security on my phone is enough. Without this fixed the app is dreadful to use.

The app itself is ok in theory, however it doesn’t remember you and you have to sign in every time which I hate. If you get your password wrong it leaves the password in place so you have to actually remove the wrong one and then start again, inputting the email every time. No notifications when teachers add anything. No idea which teachers are adding items so you can’t discuss it with your kids - who often don’t know which lesson the points refer to it. Could be so good but is quite frankly, bloody useless.

Trying to login for first time took ages as DOB box suddenly appears after clicking box below, so wasn’t entering the data needed. It loses all entered data every time login fails so have to start again, Trying to select the date is horrendous as won’t scroll correctly, no option to show Password so unable to check if mistyped. Once in, it’s Slow to respond, so end up clicking things twice so it then deselects want you wanted. The positives pie chart is ridiculously complicated with 3 circles within one. Not all homework is displayed by due date, some only by issue date, so maybe missed if don’t click that view too. My sons school doesn’t use planners to record homework, only this awful app has a record of what is set, so we have no choice but to use it. Cannot stress enough how non user friendly this app is!!! Didn’t want to give any stars, but 1 is the lowest I can go!

This is a nice way to show a snapshot of homework and effort. However, if using on a mobile and you open up a piece of homework which so much info that you need to scroll down, you can’t exit out of that homework preview - you need to close and reopen the app. Bug fix is needed and then it would work very well for its purpose.

Handy to know the dates for homework submission but if you have more than one child it is not particularly user friendly- only one view of data- with both children intermingled. Would be good to have ability to filter the homework by child or by date and ability to change font size. Basic functionality and does the job.
