A very intriguing story that's addictive to read, with very imaginative characters, settings and plots. Highly Recommended!

This is more of a Sci-Fi genre which I normally don't enjoy and I did have to persevere with the first couple of chapters. The perseverance was well worth it! This is an excellently written, original and imaginative choices story which really makes you feel in control of your character and engaged with the world you rapidly become immersed in. Excellent! Worth every penny! If you like choices books then this is a must try!
I love this book. One of the best interactive books I've read (the other being romance, choice of courts I think that's what it is called?).
I was sucked in immediately and actually started feeling for all the characters, especially OtherBoard. Not too sure about the "goddess" though, may need to bring her down somehow! ;-)
Brilliant author, and I hope many more books to come because I'll be purchasing them all!
Just like the hero rise series you will be eager to get each new book as you go on an amazing adventure where you decisions effect story outlines throughout the series . I am a choice game fan I have bought most available in the store and just like hero rise series this is turn out to be one of the best written I have played . It is fresh and expands in areas no other choice game I have played does . A brilliant buy a must have game
AMAZING!! Get now, thank later
I love these sorts of books, and I eagerly await finding out more in this series!
By far my favourite author, the story is well paced and the amount of freedom in the game is mind blowing.
Was a huge fan of the Heroes Rise series. Came into this with high expectations and was not disappointed. To be honest I was completely blown away. The level of writing has stepped up even more and it is utterly engrossing. Can't wait for the next installment.
It's great, can't wait for the next chapter also can't wait to see what happens between my character and baron and oil lol
I adore the gameplay in this - your character options are really diverse, and the storyline is compelling. My only issue with it is that the sequel isn't out yet and I am desperate to continue my game!
Excellent and thoroughly engaging, appears it is the first part of many, hope the next part arrives soon.
It was an utterly spectacular experience
Very excited to see where the story goes in the sequels.
After reading all of the hero rise trilogy about 3 times and testing out different choices and personas and whatnot I wanted to read more of these choice apps and verses did not disappoint! Every page was exciting with a new different experience after every choice you make! I thoroughly enjoyed it and the only problem I have with it is why hasn't the second verses come out yet!!!!!!!!
thoroughly enjoyed it!
I have to utterly disagree with one of the reviews which gave this story a one star. I thoroughly enjoyed the parallel plots that enriched the storyline: they added depth to the otherwise a linear experience and allowed the readers to individualise their own focuses on specific aspects of the adventure. I also applaud the author for fielding many novel features that truly made the story one of its kind. It's a grand and ambitious adventure in its own right, you can't please everyone but clearly critics so far have indicated it as a highly successful novel. Thanks and well done! Make sure you add a "tip" function in the sequels so we can materialise our support!
Amazing story wrote very well I do think it has some bits that maybe drag it a bit more than is necessary but in whole amazing. Can't wait for book 2.
Good book so far but the use of gender neutral pronouns is really annoying and makes it harder to envision the story.
To all writers pease do not use gender neutral pronouns it is not progressive it just makes it harder to read.
Great writing, and agonisingly hard choices to make. I loved the Hero projects and now love this series too. Can't wait for the next book.
Since I played the Heroes Rise series, I was eagerly waiting for this. It's a very interesting concept and I quite like the writing style. My only concerns are that some scenes drag on and some are a bit confusing. It was lovely to see that this game recognises nonbinary genders. Overall, I did enjoy this and I'm currently waiting for the next installment! :)
I would honestly recommend this to anyone. Really enjoyed it, can't wait for the next one !
My second fave series by the author so far! I loved the Heroes Rise trilogy and cant wait for the second instalment of VERSUS!
Absolutely loved it, can't wait for the next installment!
I really liked this game. Really enjoyed the Hero Project trilogy. Can't wait for the next book
First of all, I love the works done by this author on previous occasions. He has a wonderful imagination and creates captivating characters with brilliant world-building and Versus certainly does not lack that. However, this was a major let down in more ways than one. The game is ambitious, too ambitious. It attempts to run several storylines together that just become convoluted and boring. There seems to be no real direction in terms of story and the ending is just horrible, setting up a sequel to a story that should have been confined to one game. The choices are limited compared to the author's previous works, as it seems we are directed more by the narrative than usual for a CoG game. Paradoxically speaking, the story is short and long. It lacks any payoff yet it's boringly long which makes the ending arrive at a somewhat sudden albeit disappointing conclusion. It felt like a cash grab essentially, knowing the sequel to this could have easily been included in this game. The characters are well thought out but I find it somewhat irksome that romances are simple; don't get me wrong, I adore the diversity but if this game was written for the long haul, there really was no need to implement any romances for this game: simply allow us to move in that direction with hints and flirts. I ultimately felt bored throughout the game; I like the sheer intelligence and ambition this game is trying to evoke but this fails miserably at implementing it. The game is easy compared to others from CoG and the replay value is frankly zero, if only to jog your memory when the sequel arrives. Overall: buy it to support CoG, it's not that expensive, but don't get your hopes up. I just hope the sequel redeems this awful game.
I've bought this guy stuff before (see the Heroes Rise and such if you haven't already, it's a great trilogy) and really enjoyed them, so needless to say I had high hopes for the beginning of this series.
I was not disappointed. Once again an interesting and well written story, with an engaging set of characters, really looking forward for the next one
(In like 2025 or something) :3
Best choice of game so far!!!!!!!
This is shaping to be the best Choice of Games yet! Zachary does it again.
