Sadly it doesn’t sync with your pre-existing BL collection if you’ve bought audio books via their website.
ABOUT THE APP
The Black Library Audio app is the ultimate way to experience Black Library’s wide range of audiobooks and audio dramas wherever you are, whenever you want, right on your iPhone and iPad.
Choose from a wide range of over 170 audio titles set in the immersive worlds of Warhammer 40,000, The Horus Heresy and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
View the vast range of audiobooks and dramas, filtered by setting. Find your favourite series, or a new one, and buy every title that belongs to it. Get a taste of the action with a free sample before buying.
Browse the audiobooks and audio dramas you’ve purchased in the app’s Library. Sort your audios by purchase date, title or series. They’re all stored remotely for you to download to your device whenever you want to listen to them. You can toggle freely between titles on your device and everything you’ve purchased.
The app also features an audio player, allowing you to listen to your downloaded audiobooks and audio dramas wherever you are, whenever you want. Never be without your fix of fantastic adventures from the worlds of Warhammer! Link up via bluetooth to listen remotely with cordless headphones or in your car.
A fully-featured search function allows you to find the audio you’re looking for in a variety of ways. You can search by title, author or keyword. Looking for stories that feature Ultramarines? Just type it into the search bar and you’ll find them all. The search function will even shortlist and show titles based on what you type, as you type it.
With our audiobooks you get to experience the story as it was meant to be heard. Word for word your narrator will read the story to you, straight from the page. Audiobooks are usually full and unabridged versions of novels, novellas or short stories.
With our audio dramas you are immersed in the story. Gunfire, battle cries and music form the backdrop on which actors play out the characters. The narrator links the tale together so all you have to do is listen to the action. Audio Drama’s are uniquely scripted and can range in length between roughly 10 minutes and 2 hours.
What's New in Version 1.0.3

Needs to be updated every other month at least as when new titles are released as they then don’t show up until a week or so later.
I had purchased just over 100 pounds worth of audiobooks my iPad broke so I got a new one now all my books are gone absolutely ridiculous I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLATFORM FOR YOUR BOOKS
Well downloaded it to see what they have on offer, don’t bother there is no point.
Join audible and get a free audiobook, spend £13 and get 3 tokens to buy 3 more audiobooks, do that again so now you have 7 audiobooks in total and that’s about the same price you will pay for 1 audiobook on here.
Summery spend £26 and have 7 books from audible or spend £26 and get 1 from here, Very greedy of GW and BL, shame on you.
I can’t believe the prices they’re expecting you to pay when compared to equivalent companies.
Such a shame!
Nothing more to add.
Why should they cost so much? So greedy it's horrible. Popular Audio book apps have massive libraries of best selling books for far far less per month than these do for one book. There's so many young people who are into this hobby and you're really missing an opportunity to actually get kids into reading. I'm an adult and I can't afford to read or listen to these books. I'm a teacher and I know that some of my students liked reading A book but can't afford to continue reading them because of the price. Wow.
I totally endorse previous comments. Is this an 'agile' app, released pending future improvement based on users identifying their requirements? I've never been fond of early phase betas sold as something wonderful...
No use to me as I'm unable to link with my BL account and my audiobooks there.
Dreadful application. Does not show purchases and does not connect purchases made by any other mean than the application itself. A cheap, tatty gimmick. Save your time and memory space.
This is nothing but pure greed! The price of these books is sickening!
Why is this so expensive in comparison to other channels when one is buying the same content that is available elsewhere? One would imagine that they would want to discount to encourage people to use this app, but when the cost is anywhere from £5 to £15 more expensive, all that would happen is that fans would be left with a pretty bitter taste from dealing directly with the publisher. Very odd.
Although this app seems like a good idea the fact that you can't sign in with an existing account makes it pretty much useless as you can't access items you've previously purchased
E books on this app are £29.99 almost across the board, SAME audio books downloaded from your website are £8.99 or at worst £21.99.
Unless I'm missing something, this app would be far far better to your customers to point out to them this is a very expensive way to buy and play your books.
I know you are a business and need to make a buck, but bleeding your customers dry before they realise their mistake is not a cool way to make that buck.
To make listening easier the books have chapters. However 2 of the books (of 3) do not have chapters, so when you close the app it loses its place, so you must skip forward 30 seconds at a time till you reach roughly where you were. On a 13 hour book this is tiresome.
However been told it is resolved several times now and still nothing.
They are not very responsive with repairs where required.
No link to my BL account, and a couple of the audio books purchased the chapter selection doesn't work and constantly having to start again and manually find my place where I left off. Very poor.
So glad I spent £90 on audio books just though the app can crash everytime they download. Cheers GW
No more needs to be said from what the other two reviews have already stated
Doesn't remember where I am in my book, and also doesn't allow me to select different chapters, so I'm always starting from the beginning - not great for a ten hour audiobook. There's no in-app sleep function either, which is pretty much a requirement for any audio app.
The app does not connect to your Black Library account so any previous audiobooks that you have purchased will not be available. Also it keeps forgetting how far I am through my current audiobook which is really irritating.
I downloaded this app as a more convenient means of getting to my stored files on the BL website as my phone doesn't keep them as audio dramas but songs. Unfortunately there seems to be no link between the two meaning I would have to re-purchase all of those titles if I wished to listen to them through here.
Hopefully this will be an improvement which is brought in in future.
There needs to be some sort of discount/subscription offer for an incentive to purchase these books. I can't justify purchasing these for £30 when I pay £8 a month on Audible.
I don't know about the rest of the features since I haven't bought anything to try it out.
Have bought around 10 audio dramas on the Black Library site, but there's currently no way to sync and restore those purchases to the app. Restore purchases doesn't seem to do anything. Hope they get this working for existing customers.
Won't restore purchases, no way to log in. Doesn't work, v disappointed.
Plus the audios are SO expensive compared to Audible etc.
