Very good app 100% recommended. I just think some things that r premium don’t need to be like some things that could be important for others cus they have to pay to find out stuff that’s important when really they shouldn’t be doing that

I have been using Flo for over 5 years and it is great for tracking period and symptoms. I have PCOS and with irregular cycles it is really useful to know I have information on hand for appointments etc.
I have tried the pro version during a trial period but didn’t use the content or additional features so I am back on the free version. And IT IS SO PUSHY! I can’t open the app or make a single action without being asked to upgrade. I have made a decision to not upgrade during the trial period and being asked repeatedly after every single action and input is so disruptive. There are so many dark patterns with these purchase modals too; with hidden close buttons and long-winded opt out journeys. It is just not necessary for a period tracking app to be so aggressive in its subscription pushing.
I am slowly moving over to the native iOS health app to track my period as it offers the same. The Flo app used to feel like a safe space for me to log my period easily and privately but now feels like if I click the wrong button I will be signed up to a payment I don’t want to make - It feels sneaky and disingenuous.

I have found this app very useful to track my period and ovulation. I used it while trying for a baby. As long as you log in your symptoms and moods etc it can give you helpful information.
It was very helpful for me with tracking my pregnancy and I also like the secret chats where you can talk about anything anonymously.
The premium is also not too expensive if you pay annually.
I would like to suggest to add breastfeeding under the symptoms/record log as this can change ovulation etc.

I think it’s a really great app but one thing that I’d like to say I wish they would put the age down to 12 years old because I’m using this app and I’m 12 years old so on the app I’m 13 but apart from that I think it’s a really really good app and I advise lots of people to use it

Version 9.33
As a new user, I can’t comment on the long-term use/benefits of the app, but I found the onboarding process very pushy and unpleasant. The questionnaire was to be expected (though I found the pushing of (paid) features at every single opportunity distasteful), but I was put off to the point of considering deleting the app at the “I [name] commit to use the app“ screen, which could only be got through by a long hold on the logo - a quite revolting and manipulative moment. From where, it dumped me straight into the subscription setup, without an opportunity to actually look in any considered way at the features of either the free service or the subscriptions. App developers need to be paid, but these are the tactics I’d associate with a sleazy high-pressure car salesman.

Overall the app does what it says on the tin, but if you’re using contraception it doesn’t really fully get it. For example I set up notifications to remind me to take my pill, then when I took two packs back to back it kept telling me I had irregular cycles, so it doesn’t really keep up. There is no way to give the app this info.
Also it’s really limited what symptoms you can log, you can’t add your own in, just click the standard ones they have which is not that useful, this would make the app way better and more personalised. I’ll probably try a different one next year.

I've used this app for many years and it used to be great. Now unless you pay a huge amount of money you can't do anything but log dates. It's far too expensive for what is offered and if I didn't have so much information in there I'd be deleting it. Recently the app keeps telling me that my logged dates show I may 'have a medical issue' but won't tell me any more unless I pay an exorbitant amount of money. Don't bother downloading this and find something else. This app has become a constant push to make you pay for stuff you can just google! Absolutely useless.

I’ve been using this app now for 5+ years and it has helped me so much with tracking my periods and understanding my symptoms leading up to or after my period. However, I am quite disappointed now with all this paying for a subscription so you can see your symptoms and understand your cycle more. When I first downloaded this app everything on it was free and it was the best thing ever, it really helped me and I am sure it has helped many others out there. It is such a shame they have ruined it with this new feature.

The functionality of this app is fantastic but it’s so irritating to constantly have content pushed at me that assumes I’m straight and trying to have a baby. In this day and age I’d expect more nuance and sensitivity in the content you serve up to your users. Surely I should at least be able to tell you I’m not interested in learning about the efficacy of the pull out method?! 🤢

I’ve used Flo for about 5 years now, religiously, to track my periods. I enjoy how user friendly it is. In the earlier stages of the app there was access to a lot more free information but now for pretty much all the info, you need to have premium. Which I understand as they need to make money, but sometimes it’s annoying when they offer help and support, or to “chat”, but then to actually read any further you need premium. Not the end of the world as I still like the app for tracking.
Now that I am pregnant, I’ve faced more problems with the app, even after paying for a premium subscription. Everyone knows (including the science) that you can ovulate early and therefore be further along in pregnancy than the estimated gestational date provided online (2 weeks past the first day of your last period). Other apps I am using, you can manually amend how many weeks you are and your due date and it simply moves you forward. Flo, however, will not let you amend this, so all of the notifications I get are for more than a week behind where I’m up to in pregnancy.
There is a way to troubleshoot this - you can “end pregnancy” - which then acknowledges it as though you’ve had a miscarriage (could be triggering for some women). You then need to delete your most recent period, and log a “new” pregnancy. And then you lose all of your data from your “old” pregnancy. When you’ve been logging and tracking symptoms throughout, this is pretty annoying as there’s now no way for me to get this back.
Besides all this, I do still like the visual side of the app and the info is helpful. It’s just a few annoyances and inconveniences that other apps seem to have sorted.

Irritating

Do not download whilst on your period if you are not willing to pay because i was almost in tears over how you had to pay for everything almost when all i wanted was some more insight to my own body but could not even access the small articles that i thought should be available without having to pay or have a free trial. It almost made me cry.

I would pay premium for this app but like most have said it’s too pricey when you can find this information out by making a doctors appointment. It would be nice to have the added features back such as hints and tips when you record certain symptoms and I don’t like that if I come off birth control I’ll need to pay £9.99 to make sure I know when I’m fertile so don’t get pregnant just a shame really. I will more than likely look for a different app if they don’t improve this one for anything other than tracking my period

I pay for the premium service, and so I contacted support to be told they can’t locate my account.
As a last resort, I have tried to set up a new account using my Apple ID and I get right to the end of the sign up, click my Apple ID for it to say ‘something went wrong.’
I am absolutely not paying for a service or an account that I can’t even access!

honestly it is a really helpful app and is very accurate with period dates and overall it’s literally just a great app!!!
only thing i will say is now everything requires paying and like you can barely even talk to the robot thing that comes up without having to pay.. most things you could do before now requires paying which i guess makes sense but it is annoying because it’s quite pricey. Also they removed the pregnancy test option???
I think an improvement would be to put it back and maybe add more stuff to the daily checkup things, but yea still, its a wonderful app and i love whoever made it x

I’ve been using the Flo app for over 5 years. It’s brilliant for tracking your period and logging symptoms. It’s also quite accurate for calculating the next time you come on. I would recommend it to anyone wanting that. When I first downloaded the app I thought it was absolutely brilliant and a positive way forward for people wanting to know more on their health topics.
However, over year years I’ve been using this app the other features have become what feels like a money scheme to target people wanting to find out more about their health . Originally, anyone who uses the app were able to freely access information pages and forums on health related topics. The content of these were brilliant and would bring peace of mind for things many would stress about. Then a year to two into using the app features became restricted making people pay for accessing some features. However, the usual articles and forums were still free to read/use.
Jumping to now, where the Flo app has completely restricted all access and help to people and forces them to pay premium. It’s feeling like they have isolated members of this community. It now feels like they are tacking advantage of the fact people want to know and get help for health related topics. Where in the past they used to actively support their members. I understand having some features paid for as the app need funds. However, I feel they have gone completely over the top.

Free version of app is mostly useful, but for some reason doesn’t give “hot flush” or “temperature” as a symptom to log. Which would be useful considering hot flushes are a useful marker.
It has the option to record your temperature but doesn’t allow you to simply log in the symptom list that you feel warmer than usual which is a common symptom.

The free version is alright for tracking your cycle, but if you are TTC and want to track more than just your cycle etc then you will need to pay. There are other free apps for the things Flo is charging for I paid for a yearly premium for some specific features BUT they removed those features AFTER I have paid, and when I emailed for a refund they first ignored me and then said they can’t do it and I have to deal with Apple myself. I really think they can refund me they just don’t want to, they could have been a little more helpful at least. The thing is, those features are not removed for all premium user, some of us can still use them, therefore, some paid users are getting more of the app compared to others. Plus ignoring my email when I asked for a refund the first time is a pretty obvious red flag. Flo, don’t reply to this review by explaining how you are innocent, you know I can’t reply to your reply. if you are actually sincere about it you can email me

I used to swear by this app. I’ve been using it for at least about 5 years.
It used to be super straightforward and quick to quickly log your daily symptoms. Now, because of the paid feature, it constantly pops up with the prompt to pay for the subscription. I understand the need to make money but the amount that this pop up comes up is so annoying and ridiculous and I end up avoiding opening the app because it’s so long to have to close the pop-ups each time just to log a few symptoms for a few days. Is there a way to turn off this pop up? Or reduce the number that it comes up? Without the obnoxious amount it pops up, it’s a really great app but it really ruins the experience because it takes about 3 clicks before the pop-up comes up in your face again. I don’t want to pay, I don’t know why I have to state it again and again for the app to keep offering me. Is there not a “not interested” button?

I have used the Flo app since it was a brand new app. Since then, gradually less and less is available for free - which I understand especially when it’s an app that has professionals available to answer questions on a forum. My issue is how little there is available for free now, especially when I’ve used it for so long. I recently found out I was pregnant and changed the usage to pregnant. With this feature there is nothing but the tracker and some of the secret chats available to me for free. It’s a shame there isn’t even basic information available for free, £5 a month seems extortionate to me when I can get the information they are charging for from baby buddy for £0 a month. The app for me personally has changed from being informative when it was first out, to now being mostly used as a calendar and a symptom tracker for my own record. Great app, but i wouldn’t pay £5 a month.

Great app
Would love the option to say if we’ve been diagnosed with a condition like endo/pcos etc
This app is great and I mean great, I decided to come off hormonal contraception after having my IUD out and the mini pill was causing havoc with my body, I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my early 20s (after 11 years of fighting drs) and my periods have always been awful and I’ve been on contraception for most of my teenage and adult life, this caused all sorts of problems and also some serious mental health problems around my period,
This app has been amazing for tracking everything I’ve been using it for around 6 months now it helped me to visualise my time of the month better as I would spiral whenever I came on and notice the patterns (2/3 bleeds a month was my average) the info on the app is great the symptom logging and the health assistant, I haven’t used secret chats yet
The only thing I would love is if it gave us something to put down that we’ve been diagnosed with a condition like endo/pcos/fibroids etc and gave us an option for symptoms that are related to that or we could make our own symptoms to log at the click of a button
Other than that it’s great my predictions are a bit all over the place but then again my periods have been as well

I have used Flo for about 3/4 years now and it really is quite on predicting my period which has been super helpful! however in the past you used to be able to read even just a small section of their “help” part with your symptoms etc but since this year you cannot read absolutely ANYTHING on there without paying for a subscription which in all honesty i think it ridiculous, especially considering the information isn’t coming from an actual doctor or health care professional yet they want you to pay £30 plus for a years subscription. i downloaded this app because it was free and helpful but now i practically never use it only to see when i will be on, where as before i was on it daily looking for support and help, disappointed with how its changed and seems to be, like every other app, hungry for money.

Version 9.24.0
I pay for this app and I find it really good and useful for tracking my cycle and symptoms. Some of the graphs and summaries are useful to be able to access to. I wish I could download everything I’ve logged to a sheet or pdf.
The main thing that annoys me though are all the automatic prompts and pop ups asking me questions when I’ve opened the app just to look at my calendar and see what cycle day I’m on. They get in the way of what I’m trying to do and makes for a frustrating user experience. And the ‘chat’ function isn’t very useful either because it’s all pre-set phrases etc. I never feel I gain much insight into my cycle and I wish there was a way to turn them, and the prompts off completely.
Secret chats are alright but I still can’t work out how to ask my own question… and whether that’s even possible.

I took up the one month trial but soon decided this app did not offer any additional information or benefits to an one off payment app I used for years. I messaged them in advance and asked them to cancel my subscription, received an email back confirming this would happen. I check my subscriptions in settings and the app was not listed. I then got an email to say my trial was ending so I messaged again to check it had been cancelled, no reply. I tried to log in online but it wouldn’t recognise my log in details and there was no ‘reset password’ option so I emailed again, no reply. Low and behold I was charged the £15 monthly subscription (the app is totally not worth that amount), I messaged them again and still no reply. Thankfully on my email receipt from the monthly transaction there was a link and I have now managed to cancel. I would like my £15 back but again, they have not replied.
**edit** the developer refunded the subscription they took after I left the above review. Despite having taken all actions to cancel my subscription I have just noticed on banking that they have taken ANOTHER monthly payment!!

Not sure if this was a update or a bug or something that happens if you’re not paying extra, the layout for the categories aren’t as shown in the preview for this app. They’re simply listed as a very long list which is a bit tedious to fill; for example: when I’m used to having the ‘taken my pill’ at the very top and now I’m having to scroll all the way to the bottom just to say I’ve taken it. I know it’s a small task but honestly it’s not what’s been advertised with the preview photos. I can only assume it’s a bug though as I don’t see how my app should look any different to how it previously did.
Overall it’s a great app, I track my pill, period flow, daily moods and odd things that I didn’t realise would be really helpful to track. It’s simple and easy to use just not so quick for me right now.

Frankly I used to love this app when I first got my period a few years ago it had helpful articles and insights that helped me learn all the things I was never taught in my inadequate public primary school. However, recently I've been having some problems with my cycle and I went on the app to see if it would have any suggestions and suddenly you had to pay for everything. The private chats and insights, the articles, the community chats everything you now have to pay for. There's a cost of living crisis, I'm 15 and I don't have a job so how do they expect me to pay? Do they not realise that this will badly impact poorer children who are less likely to have recieved the necessary education about their period and may need a helpful app like this when they first start it. Why don't they make it so only adults are forced to pay and first timers on their period say 11-15 year olds who likely cannot afford it can learn everything girls shouldn't have to pay for to learn. It's just another expense women have to incur just because they're women. Definitely looking for another app that maybe you can actually use.

I love this app so much, it has so much help and information surrounding periods, and really helped giving me some peace of mind, considering I am a teenager experiencing irregular periods. Thanks to this It was hard to keep track of them, and I often got worried, concerning if there was a medical reason to why i was late. But with flo, I don’t have that problem. With their countless articles, a period tracker and an accurate test, I can now keep all my symptoms, dates, medical history and issues, all on one app! There hasn’t been any payment issues for me, from what I can tell so far either, but other reviews suggest there is, so definitely keep an eye on that one. Overall, I really recommend this app, definitely one of the best things to have if you’re a woman who gets periods. Thank you flo! ✨💖

First of all can I just say how accurate Flo is!! I was on my period when I first applied to Flo , and even tho I skipped some questions on the question air it still got my period dates right!! It knew when I started my period and when I was on it and it even told me my symptoms which were completely accurate! There is just one problem tho, and that’s the money! Why on earth should I be paying £30 a year when the cost of living has shot up massively and I’m paying to find out more about myself? I feel like the money is too far not because I’m being selfish because personally I don’t mind paying, but for the women out there that need help or can’t afford it! What if someone was hiding the app from their parents so they didn’t get told off but they had to find a way to pay for themselves! I think that having Flo shouldn’t be about the money it should be about woman having a better understanding of themselves and who they want to be! If I’m trying for a baby and I have been for years , why should I have to pay to tell me when I can get pregnant the most! Apart from the money situation Flo is a great app and is very accurate! Yet again I’m not saying this to be selfish I’m saying this for all the beautiful woman in this world who are too ashamed to say it themselves. Stay safe everyone xxxx

Hello, I am a person using Flo and it’s been quite helpful to track my period instead of trying to remember and scribbling it down in a notebook like I did when I first got my ‘.’ . I’ve not got premium at the moment but I hope to get it in future as it seems really good. I like how it includes trigger warnings for sensitive content, and the community is SO nice. I also thought that I would’ve found a (physical) male using Flo as a joke by now but I haven’t and that’s really good (I’m guessing there’s a way of preventing that? either way it’s working!) plus i went through some reviews and saw a lot of them were replied to which makes me happy that peoples opinions are being taken into account, thanks Flo for helping me come to terms with my ‘.’ 😌👊

This app started as a period tracking helper, then it became an guide to being a woman, but all it’s turned into is a scam.
This app has truly taught me so much and has been easier to use with each update since I started to track my cycle in late 2016. It’s with a heavy heart to rate it so low but I’ll tell you why. All of the help I get from the app has slowly, one by one, been made to be a Premium-only feature in the last few years. I am down to only using this for my estimated cycle days again, when this app used to be so so much more at its prime. It made me understand what was going on and helped me feel comforted with why I felt the ways I did. Now it is another money sucking app. I can’t switch to another because this one has 6 years of my cycles and it will take forever for another app to get my algorithm right- if ever.
I’m glad I did get to use this app while it was so new and have seen it go through so many updates. I got to use it when it was literally just a calendar lol (I feel old), but now it is literally just a calendar again (unless I want to pay). Sad.

Flo is an amazing app, it lets you track your period symptoms and has an amazing layout with an easy to understand period tracking calendar. My only issue is that to access all of the super helpful articles Flo provides, you have to pay for premium. This usually wouldn’t be a problem, but I’m 13 and my parents would never let me pay for a subscription. This seems like a bit of a first world problem but considering these articles are such a big part of the app and advertise so many helpful tips and bits of advice, it’s a little frustrating that I can’t access them. I understand that this is due to Flo branching out into more general well-being services, but still a little annoying nonetheless. Thanks :)

Version 9.7.1
amazing app, i use it continuously to track my period and symptoms which has been a major help to me.
However, i recently found out i was pregnant and within an hour of having had the positive test me and my partner had firmly decided that we weren’t ready to be parents and that an abortion was going to be the correct decision for us this time around. I logged the positive test on the app in order to keep my info updated and was immediately presented with a ‘welcome to parenthood’ screen. For me, it just made me giggle (down to my british sense of humour i guess), but for someone else who wasn’t as strong minded as i was at that time, it could’ve been a different story. Part of the reason people have apps such as flo is to find out sooner rather than later if they are pregnant in order to have easier termination treatment, especially in the states i imagine. My one recommendation for the app would be to improve this feature, even a simple “what are your plans?” question, with answer options such as “keep it/abortion/i don’t know yet” would be much more appropriate and would also allow the app to be more supportive in a personalised way.

Version 9.5
I have had this app for 6 years in total (initially for 2yrs and then downloaded again for 4yrs until now)
When I started using Flo it was amazing, I could easily track my cycle and add/remove as much information as I wanted. It was detailed but not over complicated, and the free version was more than adequate for basic tracking.
Since the app has been developed and updated the free version has become nothing but a vessel for advertising and pop ups. Every time I open the app, I am bombarded with ‘insights’ and ‘chats’ (which are a horrible way to convey automated information) and daily requests to ‘update to premium’. If I have said no once, why am I being constantly asked to update over and over?
I have tried the premium version and as others have said, it’s no longer useful or evidence based articles, it’s just user comments on topics and magazine style articles of quite frankly, basic secondary school level information on the female body. The range and quality of content has reduced dramatically over the years (and it’s fair to say I’ve given the app a good test!).
It would be great to see Flo bring back a free version of the app that is user friendly and not a sales assault.
Women should have access to good quality and free period education and products (yes, that includes being able to track it and monitor your period health) without feeling constant pressure to buy something.
At the moment, this app is not worth your money.

Version 9.3
This app used to be amazing and I’ve been a subscriber for the last 2 years to the premium version, however this last couple of months the app crashes ALL the time. Halfway through a Flo chat it randomly closes the app and I’m back on the Home Screen. Then the insights part (a bit like stories) is just a black screen, so you have to close and reopen the app and then MAYBE it will reload but who knows because it’s so unreliable and unpredictable. The secret chats part is the same. If you search for something in there and then click on a response, some of them are just greyed out as they fail to load, and other times it just crashes again by closing the app and taking you back to the Home Screen. None of my other apps do this and I’ve had no other phone issues so it is 100% the app causing the problems. Really hope the developers can sort this out ASAP. I was hoping the last update would have sorted it out but it hasn’t helped at all. So disappointing, especially as I am a paying customer.

Version 9.1
This will be the first review I ever wrote on the App Store! As part of the free version, you could see when upcoming periods were predicted, which were super accurate for me. Now, this has been moved into the paid for plan, which makes the app useless. I can track my periods with pen and paper, other apps, which have the same function as the free version of this app. I’m upset that it’s changed to be this way, and you’ve decided to capitalise off this brilliant feature (that set you apart from other period apps). I think it’s lame to sell out like this. I’ve been using this app since I was in my teens, and will no longer be using it until the period predications move back to the free version. No one in the world should have to pay/have profit made off anything that could help them when it comes to a very painful and recurring experience that you have no control over. Well I did have control over it, but now it’s been taken away and I have to pay to see when my periods are coming. Shame for you Flo! I used to recommend you to everyone and will be revoking this asap.

Version 8.11
I have used this app since 2016 and it has been invaluable to me in understanding my body and hormones. Something that isn’t taught when growing up and going through puberty. It’s a real shame that all features have now been disabled unless you pay for premium and you can’t use the app for longer than 5 seconds without a pop up to pay for premium appear. As a teenager I would not have been able to afford premium and I feel so many teenagers will miss out on the experience I had. I have recommended this app to so many people, but I won’t now until they make it user friendly for non premium payers. I accept not being able to have access to all features, but you should be able to log in symptoms and access common symptoms that other users experience during particular times as a non-paying user. Please change the app back and make it accessible!

Version 8.9.2
The app is good for mostly everything, but I’ve been charged £29,49 for a subscription I did not sign up for! I’m fuming as I have money issues already and I’m low on money, the £29,49 I was charged for was money I NEEDED for a few plans I have, now I have to change my plans because I can’t afford to get the stuff I needed to sort out without that money. I’ve tried what I can to try getting my money back but nothing is helping, I want my money refunded back to me as I did not give my permission and if I did I would’ve knew, I don’t do subscriptions because of my money issues at the moment, so I avoid subscriptions on every app at all costs as I know I can’t afford subscriptions. I would never in a million years agree to a subscription that costs £29:49 that’s ridiculous honestly!!! And if there’s a number I could directly contact the Flo support team by, to discuss my issues personally with them then I would much prefer that. But I want this sorted and a refund as soon as possible.

Version 8.7.1
I love this app. It made the entire logging of symptoms and ovulation dates and tracking when to try for a baby etc SO much easier. It also has a really simple anonymous chat interface which means people can speak honestly and openly with pics of various tests, which for women, is both great and the source of overthinking, but hey, we do it to ourselves in the name of knowledge. Can Flo consider a ‘dad’ version of this app? Men want to know what is going on with TTC or pregnancy and how to help, but they are never going to download a menstrual cycle app (understandably, they wouldn’t even be able go get going with the calendar function). Just a thought. There’s nothing out there for men like this, particularly for the pregnancy stages.

Version 8.2
I’ve had this app for just over a year now. My cycles are very irregular; having the tech to be able to track this monthly into a graph has helped me express to my doctor how serious my issue is, leading to me now finally being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, which has also explained a lot of other issues I had with my body/mental health, so this app played a huge part in my life. The only thing I would say to improve is that because of this, the app is not giving me an accurate prediction for my period. Most of my cycle lengths have been over 100 days but because of anomalies I feel that the app doesn’t always account this. For example when I took emergency contraceptive, it forced me to have a period that I 100% wouldn’t have had. But this was added to the algorithm and it made my “average cycle length” lower when it shouldn’t have been. Other than that, the app is incredible and I’d recommend to anyone and everyone☺️

I have been on a contraceptive pill for as long as I can remember (i’m 29 years old now and started the pill early teens) and recently in the last 3-4 months came off the pill for various reasons. My friend recommend this app to me as she found it helped her understand her cycle from month to month.
I didn’t understand how much I needed this app until I started using it. For someone that took a pill and rarely had periods, no issues with skin, coming off the pill was quite stressful for me as a log of things changed. This app has helped me understand my cycle more than any google article could. I now have hormonal acne but know when it’s coming and thanks to numerous articles on this app explaining everything in great detail, i now know supplements to take and ways to prevent the acne, to the point it is no where near as bad as it was when i first came off the pill. I love the comments section and hearing everyone else’s stories, it’s great to know you’re not alone :)
Download it and give it a try for yourself. Have a laugh in the comments section as there are some great stories from real life people!
I honestly couldn’t recommend this app enough and have been telling all my friends about it (most of them already have it!) thank you for making such an amazing app, for us women that have to deal with our fabulous monthly cycle! xx

Version 7.2
I have been using it since 2016, and I liked it a lot and have been recommending it to my friends. However, I don't like how it has changed by now, especially the content section. For example, the idea to present useful information in a form of a chat is just horrible. It takes more time to squeeze the information from the bot and I have to click 10 times to read the equivalent of a 100 words article. I also don't like that it opens whenever I open the app and tries to engage me in a fake conversation, often the one I already completed 😫. I almost stopped opening the app because of that. Furthermore, previously the content was more interesting and in-depth, I could learn a lot of new info. Now the articles are very basic, there is not much information in them, as if they are written by the journalists from lifestyle magazines, not by experts, as it was before. Flo, please stop, at least remove the chatbot. I pay for the app, I want some decent user experience 😭

Version 4.35
Hi! I have been using this app for about a year now, and have found it very helpful. The predictions are accurate and the other features (health advice, symptoms logging etc.) are all really useful and a nice touch for the app. The thing that really sets Flo apart however, are its “secret chats”. I love being able to access a friendly, helpful and supportive community of other people who menstruate, completely anonymously.
The one thing I would say, however, is I would really appreciate changing some of the gendered language used in the titles of specific chats. These terms (such as “womanhood”, and “girls”) could be highly saddening for people who menstruate and are not, in fact, girls, for instance, trans men, non-binary people and those who are gender-fluid etc.
Personally, as a cisgender, heterosexual woman, I think we should be supporting the LGBTQ+ community as much as possible, and changing the titles to words such as “adulthood” and “people” could help these people feel more validated and, anything we can do to prevent gender dysphoria deserves to be done.
I hope you take into consideration this, and change it in the nearby future, to make Flo more inclusive for ALL who menstruate.
Thank you,
A 14 year old Flo user.

Been using this app for a few years and its really great for period tracking. When i became pregnant recently I switched to the pregnancy tracker and that was great too to see how the baby was coming along. However, I unfortunately experienced a miscarriage and I felt that this is where the app became really insensitive and disappointing. When I logged that I had a miscarriage it asked if I wanted any articles or chats to help get through it but I never saw anything at all to help me, instead it just went empty. it showed my miscarriage but it seemed to have wiped everything else i had worked up over the years and now it gives pretty insensitve notifications about chats about pregnancy and baby bumps. It now is just waiting for me to log my next period but other than that you would think iv only just starting to use it. This needs looking at as I wouldnt expect an app that is supposed to track and support to be so useless now I have experienced this.

This app was great when I first downloaded it 2 years ago, but has massively gone downhill since then. It used to offer relevant content (some for free some for premium members), however in the past year has turned into a basic a calendar for those who do not want to pay for premium memberships with constant sales pushes. It is also extremely insensitive to those unfortunate enough to have experienced a miscarriage during pregnancy. It makes you go through the steps of logging a missed miscarriage, then asks you to log the last day of your first period to start tracking again. Except to do that you have to manually exit the pregnancy mode (despite the fact you have already recorded a miscarriage), which means the app wipes all of the pregnancy records and puts you at over 60 days (in my case) overdue for your period. Absolute joke. In addition when pregnancy mode was activated it somehow puts you a week ahead of the reality and tells you you’re further along by 1 week as a opposed to the medical test results. It’s confusing and annoying. Massively disappointed in the app that previously I would have recommended to friends.

I’ve been using this app for over a year now, at first to track my cycle and for the last few months to track ovulation as we are TTC. I’d be lost without it for tracking ovulation because my memory is rubbish and also my cycle has been irregular. So for that I am thankful. However after a few unsuccessful months trying to conceive, and trying to maintain a positive mindset during those 2 weeks between trying and hoping that your period doesn’t come, every time I open the app in the few days before a new cycle is due to start, I’m greeted with the question “have you noticed any pre menstruation symptoms today?” Which just throws me off and makes me anxious. I wish that when you set your goals to track ovulation that they switch these little period questions off because I find it disheartening 😞 other than that it is a great app.

I used to really appreciate this app, but have found over the last year that is has become annoying, irritating and pushy in all the same ways that made me leave other period apps over the years. Before, I could just track my periods and symptoms, now it’s full of ‘health assistants’ and ‘daily insights’ that just get in the way with information and recommendations I don’t need nor want. Not to mention you can’t really tailor it to yourself (or at least not on a standard account, I haven’t tried premium). I can’t begin to tell you how many fitness and exercise notifications I’ve received... I’m physically disabled, I can’t use them or make use of them, but seemingly can’t get rid of them either. I just wanted a standard tracking app, not a big, flashy, all singing-all dancing app.
If you just want a standard period tracker, this is no longer the app I would recommend.
Edit: in response to the teams halfhearted reply below, I’m not looking to disable notifications entirely. I still need period reminder notifications. It’s the useless (to me) exercise notifications that I can’t edit nor amend that are irritating. ‘I’M disabled’ not ‘I WANT to disabled them’. It is really good at tracking and does usually predict the dates very well, it is also good for recording which symptoms and emotions you experience at certain times of the month as there are plenty of options to choose and this helps you notice your own patterns. However since the update the amount of information you can get for free has completely reduced, you can’t read any of the tips anymore in full like you used to, they’ve changed the format from helpful articles to an Instagram story kind of format where everything but the first two slides are locked which are generally introductory anyway. I understand they want you to pay but it’s a shame they took all that content away as it was what set them apart. Pre update I’d give 5 stars, now I’d give 3 as it has nothing else to offer compared to any other free period tracker app, so if you want to pay I assume that the content is as good as it was back then so I’d recommend, if you want a free app it’s too frustrating that most of it is locked away! Plenty of others will do the exact same job. But ultimately it does offer a place to input symptoms and find out your next period likely dates so I will keep using, just cannot afford to pay right now and I’m sure a lot of women feel the same in this current economic situation (Summer 2020)

Great insights and accurate predictions!

I’ve been using Flo for about 2yrs now and I love it. It’s easy to use all its features and cycle predictions change according to how regular, or not, each individual is.
I would prefer if it learnt what kinds of ‘insights’ the user doesn’t want to read about, as I don’t enjoy scrolling through stuff that isn’t relevant to me: it has a ‘Hide insight’ function, but to do this repeatedly for similar topics is tedious.
In addition, it doesn’t work very well on the Apple Watch if you haven’t already opened the app on the phone, so for example when you don’t have your phone with you when you pop to the loo and want to log a period on the watch, it will only show it as being the last date that the app was opened rather than the actual date. Makes me wonder if the watch app is of any use, so I rarely open it!

Initially great but starting to feel a little let down

When I first downloaded the app it was great, and the tracking part remains so. I do not pay for the subscription for various reasons but I found I had enough info on the app to be satisfied with the free version. However I’ve noticed that with the last few updates, the content you receive is less and less to the point where all you can do is track your period/pregnancy. There’s barely any point to tracking symptoms anymore as every article is available to subscription users only, where previously you could get something and then get more info if you subscribe. Now I understand some will say ‘just pay for it’ or ‘what do you expect for free’ which I get, but it’s frustrating when the app initially offered more for free and has been reducing content which I personally think is poor taste. I understand that they are a business, and it’s in their interest to make money, but this just feels like they are using this to force people into paying. If you’re happy not to receive insights in the free version then it’s perfect and still does an excellent job at tracking. If you’re irregular like me, within a few months of tracking, the app will almost have it down to the day perfectly.

I have been using this app for well over a year now and it is the best app for its purpose I’ve ever used. HOWEVER the “secret chats” section is completely toxic. There are group forums you can join based on your interests and a few chucked in for discussion. There are group chats such as “what symptoms did you notice during early pregnancy?” In order to help other women who feel they may have the same symptoms. But during my time scrolling through this I did not see one comment about any symptoms. Every single comment is from a woman about being pregnant. Congratulations, that’s amazing news, but think of the woman who’s been trying for 10 years to have a baby, desperately trying to know the signs, only to be greeted with announcement after announcement? It’s a great app, but these comments need to be monitored, it’s beginning to get out of hand and affect people’s mental health.

Ok - But Needs Improvement!

I have been using this app for 5 months now.
When I downloaded this app I thought it was the best thing ever. However, I quickly discovered that my predictions are almost never correct. 😞
The day I was due to ovulate or start my period according to Flo would change randomly to the following day and the day after which is very frustrating. Only 1 in my 5 months has this been accurate but only because I update it in conjunction with my ovulation tests. I understand everybody is different but I feel like Flo just takes too long to improve cycle predictions.
However, the anonymous forums are very useful for support and advice. The comments aren’t date stamped though and you can’t message someone if you make a friend etc. You have to pay a premium for courses which is not great when you already pay for the app. I was resistant to trying another app because I thought that no way could a free/cheaper one (Clue) be better than this but so far it has been and the predictions on Clue seem more accurate. I will continue to use this app for a short while to compare dates but I can’t see me wanting to pay for an app that isn’t even accurate for much longer. If anything, it just gives you very rough idea when you’re likely to start your period/ovulate.

The best app out there

I have had flo since I started 3 years ago and it’s still just as good and only gets better with each update. This app is really good for teens as periods change dates all the time and flo is the only app I have found that has allowed me to log it when it’s started and unlike others suggests when it’s gonna start rather than just telling me and me being unable to change it or say no it’s not today. I’m 15 and I have a lot of questions about growing up and everything to do with it and flo has always had an answer to my questions when I first got it it didn’t have the community tab so I couldn’t ask people for help or advice but now I can and it’s even better as it’s anonymous I have recommended flo to so many of my friends and I will continue to do. I have no plans to stop using flo so thank you for creating such a good app for women and girls alike. I’m sure it will only get better as time goes on I look forward to new features brought in. 👏👏

Highly recommend app

I started off looking for a app that can track my period. I was new to it and I downloaded a few different apps to see what was a good one. In the end flo stood out the most to me. Even though you have to pay for premium and you won’t get some different things. I don’t pay for premium and the app still does a bloody good job. At first i was a bit hesitant as you get those apps that you have to pay for premium to get the goodness out of the app. But what i found out with flo you still get the best of the app without paying.
Also even if you don’t go on the app and you have your period it still knows when i am on it and not. I don’t know if it’s because i have a apple watch and its been working much better having it on as its checks your heart rate ect. I also like the app cause it gives you answers to questions that I’m too scared to tell to people. Its really helpful for bits I’m unsure with as well.
Overall I rate this app 5/5 because it is so AMAZING compared to other period apps

Great but needs improvement

I’ve used this app for around 2 years now. It is very clever and does adapt to my cycle which changes ever so slightly, here and there. I’ve taken off one star for two reasons: because it’s not adaptable for UK English - I don’t understand some of the terms used, especially in the articles which I do enjoy reading. There is a lot of good advice but it doesn’t work for us in the UK. Is it possible to get a different version with health related articles for UK users? The other reason is there isn’t a migraine function - I suffer from hormone related migraines so it’s vital I know what is a headache and what is a migraine. I write in the notes section when it’s a headache or a migraine. I don’t wish it use another health app to track my migraines as they are completely connected to my hormones. While I’m here, I don’t enjoy the community section - people seem to use it while desperate and worried, but it’s not a suitable place to receive advice. Most comments get ignored and I find it frustrating to read. If I had a genuine health problem I wouldn’t use an app to get advice.

I love the only reason I gave 4/5 is because

I love it it really helps me out when I sought of know when to expect a period. I’m really impressed with the fact that my periods are irregular and some months I have some months I don’t and Flo was able to track and see when I might have my next one. Which really helps me out. The only problem I’m having is that some days my steps are on point and I know exactly how many I have done and some other days it really doesn’t work. Like today, I went on and it said I had only done 3400 steps however on my other app I had done 12,000 steps. Normally it’s really good with the measurements however somehow I think it got stuck in the middle of the day. Because it really wasn’t working for me. I tried everything to make it work and it’s just not working. But apart from that I really recommend this app.

Please update for those with conditions

I have pcos, for the last year I was having regular periods until this month in which I’m almost 5 weeks late. This app would be so much more helpful if when you log symptoms you can get something to allow you to know if it’s a possible indicator to a period approaching or possible pregnancy. It’s hard to follow the predicted dates of when you should have your period as mine changes every month drastically. I use the app for my specialists to see. But I’d find it much more useful if I was able to actually use it for my periods! I have never found an app that accommodates someone with fertility issues but I feel like this one has the most potential too. Adding features or at least the medical information be more suited to me and not just around others who don’t have the issues.
Just having symptom checkers in order to determine if a period may be approaching is more helpful to me than a predicated guess due to previous month cycles.

Amazing!

I’ve used this app since the day I started my period back In 2015! It has helped me out more then you could believe. No more having to worry about your “surprise” every month because it lets you know when your gonna come on! Flo isn’t just for that though, you can put your period symptoms down for that day, and they tell you how you can prevent it or how to make it not as bad. Also flo lets you use Touch ID (for iPhone) or a password to get onto the app, just in case someone is on your phone. Flo also predicts ovulation dates and chances to get pregnant but I’m not trying to get pregnant so I do t use that. The only thing I think they could change is the age you have to be to make an account, you have to be 13 but I started me period when I was 12, not a major issue it’s just an opinion. Overall I think flo is fantastic and I definitely recommend!!!

Be careful about payment

The app itself is fine. The payment is a joke. Having read other reviews I was careful to make sure I had selected the monthly payments, however I was still charged £43 in a lump sum. Make sure you go to your subscriptions and check the monthly payment. There is no need to charge for a year with an app like this. No one wants to payout a lump sum like that, it doesn’t give you the option to cancel it then if the app doesn’t meet your needs! Or maybe that’s the point, they aren’t confident in their app, so take full payment up front expecting people to cancel. Well...I won’t be renewing next year simply because of that.
UPDATE: the developer has “helpfully” told me how to cancel this subscription...which I already know how to do and have done. This was not the issue I stated. The issue I have is that, despite selecting to pay monthly, I was charged for an entire year in a lump sum. I was warning people to double check their subscriptions once they finish the free trial, as it appears selecting the monthly payment option in the app does not work. I was explaining that it was a disappointment to discover this had happened as I feel cheated out of my money, as I now have no option to cancel if after a few cycles I find the app does not meet my needs. If the app does not meet my needs, I will now be out of pocket as I will have paid for months of use that I will not be using.

Best Menstruation app on the market

I’d recommend this app to any menstruating female. It is an app that has many helpful features such as mood trackers and of course a period diary. It always has the ability to send notifications along with anonymous chat and many useful insights. If you're looking for a period app with mood and symptoms and how heavy your period is and how it differs this is the best one on the market right now. (But tbh I think another feature like tracking your diet and more detailed visuals and smarter assistance when logging period symptoms dates and things like that, even though that may be highly ambitious. I think the mood tracker should mirror in app purchased apps daylio as that app is great for checking your mood but important features are not free of charge, so I think if flo would allow you to log your emotions and have features such as daylio would save me alot of money. Also if it could tell me if what I’m eating would have an affect of my period or pregnancy or whatever rather than just my water intake, maybe a what did you eat tab or something I don’t really know what I’m requesting for. Also automatic sleep tracker another request/suggestion from in app purchasable apps). Overall my opinion of the app is that it is great and very very useful.

Great but there is always room to improve

It's beautiful and easy to personalise for what you are actually keeping track of. I enjoy the different insights but definitely when you are pregnant the most relevant one is the baby progress. It was a shame that when I had the first scan and corrected the gestational age from 10 to 8 weeks the insight didn't refresh so I got stock with "The size of an olive for 3 weeks". Hope that in this update they've added week by week baby progress for the entire pregnancy. (Other comments said they got nothing after week 20). I am worry about important medical issues being treated as discussions because thousands of women opinions does not necessarily is the right medical answer. Also, I wish you were explicit of which country the insights are from because timing for doctors appointments may vary and definitely options as terminating a pregnancy are not available in every country.

Absolutely amazing I’m a teenager so want to know when I’m due etc so I can plan my social life etc with when I’m on or not as I live by the sea and my friends want to swim 24/7 and I hate tampons. So far this app has been 100% accurate and I’ve had it for about 6 months and it gives me super great knowledge about what’s going on in my body and why sometimes I’m moody etc, with little quizzes it becomes really personalised to you and can give you advice even on boys ! I love that there is a password optional feature as some of my friends go on my phone and I don’t want them to know when I’m on or not always. I cannot recommend this app enough I honestly don’t know what this app doesn’t have with wanting to know what’s going on with you, also it says for people who want to get pregnant how fertile they are so could be really helpful for those who want to know. I ADORE THIS APPPPP

I’ve used this app since the stillbirth of my second son in 2016. I never knew when I was due on so I wanted to log my periods as I didn’t want good old Mother Nature to keep “surprising” me! The recent updates over the last two years are amazing - for example: you can now get reminders to encourage you to drink water, take your medication, to tell you when you’re due on and to log your start and finish of your period. You can also log all of your symptoms, weight and other personal details. The fact the app is also secure (pin or Touch ID) is great because you know nobody could ever see your personal details. It’s also great if you’re trying to get pregnant as there’s a pregnancy mode which can help you track when you’re ovulating, or even if you are pregnant there’s countdowns and information about pregnancy and babies. There’s also a great new update with so much information from periods to day to day life, quizzes and surveys for you to do. I’ve tried roughly 10 other period apps and I can honestly say this is the best by far. I’d never change to another one. Keep up the good work creators!

Really great app, helps you track your period with various different added extras, like; you can add mood, if you have had craving or cramps etc etc. It also helps you if you are struggling with just generally being a teenage girl, gives you advice on bras, if you have normal flow, what products are best for you. If you want you can log in personal details like weight, height and the amount of water you drink, this will mean that Flo will advise you to drink more or less. Also for added privacy you can have a passcode, which I think is really great, just incase my brother steals my phone! If anything could be improved, I would say to add a chat room, for people who are struggling to ask the community, so that they don’t feel alone. Overall, I think this is the best FREE app out there for period tracking.( you can also have ovulation tracking or pregnancy tracking, but I’m not planning to get pregnant, so I don’t use it)

Love the lay out colours etc. and that you can adapt what info you want recorded and that it’s lets me know when I’m ovulating so I’m extra careful on that day but also there’s no unneeded info that doesn’t appeal to me like a few other apps. The notes part helps with recording any illnesses and the multiple reminders are useful if you start a new medication on top your normal daily ones. Glad you can remove the options of contraception which is helpful if like me you’re not on any but also not wanting to get pregnant. Like that it coincides with other apps like the health and life cycle app by recording sleep weight temperature and water intake just wish I could figure out if able to how to get it log my sleep automatically from the sleep app cos at the moment I have to log it manually once I wake up but that’s not an inconvenience really. Fav one so far and I’ve downloaded and tried to use loads before. It has Touch ID which is a nicer way of locking the app.

I’m only 13 and I’ve only had roughy 6 periods, at first I downloaded clue but I didn’t like it so I explored my other options and I stumbled upon Flo. The whole design of the app is very dainty and pretty and is well disguised. This is extremely accurate and it can predict if my period is on a different date than normal. For example, I started out being around roughly the 25th and it predicted it would shift to the 17th and it did, it later predicted that it would shift to the 8th and it did. At the start you fill in your age and every time you upload data it analyses it and gives you insights on your changing body and helps you stay well informed on not just your period but the whole topic of puberty and sti’s. it is well informed not only on physical but mental health as well. Would highly recommend to anyone ❤️

I’ve been a user of a particular period tracking app for a while now and decided to have a change after that one wasn’t really working for me how I wanted it to. I came across Flo and I wish I had been using it way before now! I love how the app responds to your symptoms and changes your predictions according to what you are experiencing at certain points in your cycle (something that was clearly missing from the other app). I haven’t been using the app for long, so I can only assume that it will get better with time/more to work from. What is great about Flo is that it makes you want to use it on a day to day basis to keep the app as accurate as possible. The only suggestion I have to improve it would to have “custom settings” where you could add your own symptoms. I know that there is currently a notes screen but it is hard to keep a track on specific individual symptoms should you record them in this way (for example leg pain). This wouldn’t have to necessarily have an impact on cycle predictions, it would just be nice to keep a track on certain symptoms that aren’t currently listed. Anyways, this app is fab and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
