This app looks very amazing, and easy to use. However, as soon as i got the app it insisted that I sign up for membership or something, or I can’t use this app. I think its great but shouldn’t be labelled as free on the appstore as it isn’t free.i also think me and others should be able to use some tools for free, and others can be premium, instead of all the tools premium.
Please add a demo for 1hr or so why do I have to subscribe to demo your app
As soon as you go onto the app, it tells you to pay like, 70 pounds a month! You have to pay to get everything!
I found this very easy to use very quickly. I really like this app I was able to sketch and design within a day. No previous CAD experience only technical drawing.
Amediatly after signing in and stuff it asks for you to subscribe and pay it is really stupid
.. but I can’t do anything much without subscribing so it’s a useless download. Almost every tool causes a subscription pop up screen which is intensely irritating and creates a really bad vibe and as a result I am deleting as soon as this review is written.
Basically you get a whopping 14 days free trial if you sign up (whatever happened to the 30 days that most developers used to offer) .. but you have to remember to cancel in time if you don’t want to invoke a subscription. My take on this underhand practice is that it is designed with the hope that people will forget to cancel and cha-ching the cash till fills!!
I suspect the app might be okay as it seems to offer the Right set of functionality but I’m not hanging around to find out....I’ll take my money elsewhere thanks !!!
Before you even open a file, it’s asking you to subscribe to a payment plan, another free trial that will automatically renew, this is what they’re counting on to get income. This says to me that they don’t want me to see it and use it before purchasing, which normally means they are hiding something and in this case it appears to badly optimised code. Avoid.
You can’t even try anything without purchasing a subscription. Not even limited features. I just wanted to see what it was like before I made a purchasing decision, but the fact that I have to pay before I know what I’m getting puts me off.
So, I downloaded this app to try and create models of my ideas and to experiment. I went on to the “designs” section and selected “create new design”. When I finally finished loading and watching the tutorials, I couldn’t sketch, start modelling or even move! It said I needed a stupid subscription, and when I looked at the prices, I was shook! £10.99 each month! Lifetime cost... £399.99!!!!! I’m sorry but I just CANT use this app for anything except listen to tutorials and constantly get reminded about subscription! Goodbye, you won’t be seeing me using THIS utterly appalling thing ever again.
You have to pay for an application with mediocre results. It would be brilliant if it was free
You allow people to use a demo but they can't actually design anything on it???
You could allow people to at least design and model but not be able to export the file.
Instead you download this app think to yourself "let's try it out and see if it's worth investing in" and then are met with tutorial videos and a blank page you can't even design on.
Complete waste of time.
Yes you offer a free trial but your subscription will automatically stay after that ends.
There's a lot of feverish sarong that this app constantly crashes so I'm guessing thats why they won't let you try without a subscription.
When I bought my iPad Pro. Had this app. I could do anything I wanted on it . Now I come back to when I need it and I can do nothing on it without subscription . How is that fair? Please advise.
I would say that the app is good but it’s hard to use because you would need a apple pen/pencil and not everyone can get those
This app is good for pros, but I am just a beginner to 3D modelling. I just wanted to throw together a quick design. As I said, this app is good for pros but don’t get this app if you want to put something together quickly.
Whiles trying to sign in it says sign in not complete. Well durrr.
It’s an elegant app for doodling and making basic three-dimensional concepts for things like architecture or level design (not actual 3D asset modeling), but the £15 a month asking price is insane for the software you actually get and makes the app, ironically, quite inaccessible.
Plus, making people subscribe to the £90 yearly plan just to get a two week trial is pretty damn awful and reads as very cynical, hard to trust a developer that’s hoping some people will forget to cancel before they’ve even made their minds up.
To talk about the app a little more, it’s very drawing-centric which makes sense, and it’s quite easy to sketch basic things and pull them into 3D. It’s less easy however to precisely dial down certain aspects like geometry, correcting faces and vertices and it’s where the app experiences gradually fails you as you start slowly bouncing between different modal menus to dial everything in the way you actually wanted it. Plus the app sometimes adds additional modeling artifacts between modal operations if you’re not careful, piling on the amount of time you’ll spend fiddling instead of designing.
The toolset offers the basics for architecture visualization and 3D planning (extrude, cut, edit, etc), but it lacks the precision and other core modal tools to let you actually model 3D objects unlike Shapr which while even more expensive at least offers a deep toolset with a real sense of precision and fluidity - this even for it’s intended audience feels off the mark and needlessly fiddly.
I would have tested it more but hey, the two week trial is up. If you want to try it just get the two week free trial and immediately cancel the sub in Settings so you don’t forget to. Hopefully a better team makes the Procreate or Affinity Designer of 3D modeling and really opens the doors of 3D design to everyone but this? This ain’t it.
I downloaded this thinking is would be free software with in app purchases as described. Nope. Sign up for a 14 day trial then £88.99. It’s a shame, it looks good. But I dislike the ethics behind companies that use this tactic to gain revenue. Sign up for the trial and you will no doubt be billed as soon as the trial period ends. Offer a stripped back product for trial and then offer new features as addons. I always feel companies who use the free trial method are just looking at those who forget to cancel as an easy way to boost their bank balance.
It lets you download the app but the app is basically locked until you join a very expensive subscription service. You don’t even get to trial it at all
I mean the quality is good the designs are quite good, also can you make that £70 thingy lower but it’s still good :3
The app is great (although very pricy!) but selecting surfaces and edges is very frustrating and time consuming.
It will only let me look at the house you start with
When I first downloaded this app it looked fine but when I clicked on the default design (which was the only design there) i couldn’t even draw or design anything because half the icons that were meant to be there weren’t. This app is so bad I couldn’t even make it less than a minute on the design template because the app would keep on crashing. Overall I think you could actually spend a bit of money on an app because if this is what free 3D design apps aware like when they are free then it isn’t worth it.
I can’t do anything on this app
This is nowhere near a professional grade tool, definitely not worth the money. Considering the likes of Procreate, affinity designer and photo are one time payments of around $20 or less, this is a sick joke!
I don’t if u need the Apple Pencil or not but it won’t work without it.
What’s the point in making the app free if you have to pay monthly to use it??
How bad can it get
I embarked on an interior architecture project, using uMake for the CADs in the hope that I could take my design work on the road without my MacBook. To begin with it worked well; sketching over existing floor plans was a breeze and to be honest, quite enjoyable! But then as the plans became bigger, the app started crashing now and again. I stuck with it, but it got worse. It got much worse. To the point where I had to split up my model into rooms because the app could not handle the file size.
Every time I tried to do something a message would appear telling me that the action I was about to perform would slow down the software. I cannot understand why this is given the processing power of the new iPad Pro.
I had no choice in the end but to try and export the file into something which I could actually work with... none of them are compatible with auto cad.
£15 p/m would not be an issue at all is this app was actually suitable to pro use but unfortunately it falls so short of what is required of it at the moment that I just don’t see how it justifies the price.
uMake, if there are some significant performance and compatibility improvements coming then I will certainly be back because there is a space for this software, but I’m afraid at the moment it is not ticking the boxes.
Ok I can’t even get in the app I come in and it shows the membership and then freezes this is super annoying please help
Never even got to try it. Had to sign up for a monthly or yearly subscription at £88 per year. It said I could cancel after 7 days free trial, but I wasn’t prepared to do it.
You can’t actually do anything with the app you log in and it has my designs, which just shows you a house design, and no option to create a new design or anything, am I missing something.
App won’t even let me try basic features without signing up for a 14 day trial after which it will automatically start charging, I’m not a professional, I’m just a hobbist
I wanted this app for design class however you have to pay to actually be able to do anything, would not recommend
It’s free.. to install to actually use however requires you to pay
I want to draw 3d but it wouldn't let me draw
This app has so much potential, but the Precision Pen tool is so awful, it ruins my experience. I was trying to sketch a semi circle and it took me nearly 10 mins to get the dimensions right.
Please add some basic oval, rectangular shape and other common used vector shaping tools.
I used the iPen for the app and I am an experienced in using 3Ds MAX, SolidWorks and SketchUp.
Not free, but limited time trial before £90charge, and not technically 14 days free either, as you need to cancel at least 24 hrs before the end of the trial period. Deleted
From some reviews seem to be good app, but it is not free at all even to try; offer 14 d free trial followed by £7-8/mon! So you’re in contract unless remember to cancel it in 2wk...
It shows an ipad award of the year on the logo,
I was all up for using this and downloaded the free version, but you can't do anything much without upgrading. Click upgrade and you are confronted with an annual bill... no thanks.
I downloaded the app for free, but I can’t even try the basic feature without subscription. What is the point of that? You even took my email! I hope I will not get any spam.
You just ask for one star by allowing people to download the app for free, taking email and not giving ANYTHING in return.
Very disappointing to find out after installed that it’s not free :-(
The app insists you create an account, fine, but before you can use it for the 14 day trial, you commit to paying unless after the 14 days you cancel. Subscription models are a pain, generally overpriced unless you’re using the app every day.
This used to be a very good 3D and cad app, the best on mobile, in my opinion, but recently they updated it and now you have to pay £15 a month TO DO ANYTHING. The free version just acts as a cad drawing viewer. It also crashes a lot and isn’t reliable. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!
You can't even try the tools without subscribing. Sure there is a 14 day trial but that's is after you agree to pay £80 when the trial period ends.
I got some quite nice results but have had many crashes too. Not robust enough for me to use. Pricing is wrong. Procreate, concepts, affinity designer and photo are way cheaper and they are top notch products so price is bit steep for what you get.
I signed up for the monthly subscription and it changed it to a yearly one. Now it won’t let me cancel!
I’m a novice when it comes to 3D designing but I’ve been wanting to start designing for 3D printing for ages. A lot of apps are really powerfully but frankly over whelming to a new user but I’ve found UMake really easy to get into. I bought the education version and I’ve been watching the user guides on YouTube to get up to speed.
This app looks like a descent app but it isn’t free despite appearances. As soon as you open the app you are prompted to sign up for free and afterwards are then told that the app requires a £70 a year subscription. For me, I feel like this should be made more clear.
Used to be great having basic features for free for hobbyists and learning the ability of the app. Now it’s subscription only . Not worth it for the odd doodle.
Used to use this a lot and really loved it and if I had the money I would support the developers but I don’t and downloading their other new app is still a lot of money. I guess I’ll just have to find a different free 3D app now, it’s not like there’s not much choice.
What used to be the best free 3D design app on the App Store now costs a subscription. While this may support the developers to create the app I would far prefer to have the old, free app that had less features. I also can’t even have the free trial because the server is blocked so the app basically becomes useless. Goodbye UMake - Goodbye forever...
Really good especially the tutorial but can you add custom backgrounds? :) but thanks for this good quality and non glitching app
Love this! Exactly what I was looking for:) Now I can do pretty much everything from my iPad Pro.
I love this. I'm only a beginner so I can't wait to get my friends to get your app. It's brilliant
