Go an email to do survey for new feature on MyGP App it froze up had to restart phone. The App is brilliant and hopefully the med reminder feature works better than the survey.
Update…. First med I tried to add was a no go as I take a fortnightly injection but the is no fortnightly selection. Another med I take different injection again 3 monthly no selection.

This app was previously very useful for ordering prescriptions.
However, it has been complicated by the suggested Home Delivery.
There needs to be an option to refuse rather than the 2 existing options.
I’ve had to spend more time trying to figure out what’s going on . . . and the only option was to choose “maybe later”.
Is this going to happen every month?!

As I have used this service for some time now I have found it a 100% better than the old method, think it’s a wonderful idea . Managed ( through this app) to consolidate my prescriptions to a one off pick up rather than having them in drips and draps which meant one visit especially during the pandemic. Maybe a auto message informing that the prescription have been sent to the pharmacy, I tend to phone to check before I pick them up. Many thanks to all your wonderful staff during this very horrible pandemic.

This works very well for reordering repeat prescriptions, but not much else, except perhaps viewing vaccination history.
I am sure the app has more functionality but if it has, patients aren’t able to access it.
There should be a way to message back and forth with the GP practice, make appointments and access one’s health record, lab results and correspondence, for example, from secondary care providers.
I don’t think it’s working at maximum capacity for an application of 21st century technology.

The app changes your medical history.

Version 8.9.4
Owing to a shortage of my usual brand of medicine, my GP made a one off change to my prescription to another brand at a different chemist.
Now my prescription history on the app has been changed automatically so that all my old prescriptions are now of this new brand. This is very scary that the app can just falsify your whole medical history.
Also my prescriptions are now being sent to the new chemist who doesn’t have my contact details so I now have to go and see if they have been sent my prescription in error if it is late.
When the app worked and we didn’t have medicine shortages things were okay. Now it’s a nightmare.

The app definitely made my life easier when an ambulance was called for me I opened up the app and all the information they needed about me was in front of them It’s so easy to get repeat prescriptions done too it’s a shame the records don’t go back to childhood so you can see what illnesses you had or what operations you had and also what immunisation you received as a child I would highly recommend using the app

I’m going to say I was very apprehensive indeed about using this App for such private information, however it’s proven extremely useful and comprehensive in medical content for both my GP practice and NHS records.
I’m now able to quickly and easily book appointments, obtain my medication and receive test results from my GP practice. I’ve got extremely comprehensive access to my NHS medical, inoculations and treatment records.
You need some codes three in total from your GP to access and use effectively, however once set-up, it all functions and works extremely well from there in. It has great security features, which you would want to ensure privacy and safety of your medical information. There’s even a section for adding personal records like weight, blood pressure and setting medication alarms.
It currently doesn’t cover dental surgery and records, that’s not a negative, simply an observation on my part.

I believe we joined the practice in the early 1980’s and have been with them as a family ever since. Our reason for joining this practice to begin with was , that the senior Partners had specialities inpaediatrics and female health and as we had a young family this was very appropriate .
We have been under the care of this practice ever since and have never ever had any reasons to complain . Our son and his family are also using this practice for themselves and their 4 children and they too are very happy with the good care we all receive .
Thank you all .

Version 8.8.2
This app frequently won’t show the prescriptions tab. It needs rebooting or repeated refreshing - sometimes it won’t show the list at all. It’s frustrating and a waste of time.
A year ago it started rejecting an approved order for the key medicine I need for a chronic condition. My GP surgery has been unhelpful in contacting the app developer. This means every two months I go through the palaver of explaining I need two sets of the medicine, not the one that is ordered. Why the app decides the approved prescription should be rejected nobody can explain to me. In theory, this app should make life easier. Instead, it causes me regular irritation and stress. I hope the developer will respond and sort this bug. Enabling patients to order medicines reliably is one of the app’s core functions.

Version 8.8.2
On plus side it’s been easy to order my prescription and pre Covid I’ve managed to book appointments OK. On downside there is far too much marketing of paid services. I’m a firm believer of a free medical service and this commercialization is awful. I fear it’s the thin edge of the wedge and we end up like that awful American system. The prescription taking reminder systems is terrible for me, I like to update my record the day after my due date but if I’m a minute more than 24hrs late no joy and it records a nil trigger. Yet if I complain it seems to be sorted into “days” not 24 hour slots. But for just a day or three then goes back to a useless system. I’ve given up complaining and given up using it as it is useless to me.

Dwindling efficiency

Used to think this was ok but now a lot of adverts piling in has meant I have spent ages trying to find how I get my repeat prescription. Was about to give up when it suddenly popped up in place of the adverts. Not a great way to proceed especially when one’s surgery won’t even answer telephone calls. Neither is this progress. Extremely disappointed but nothing will be done to improve patient satisfaction in spite of complaint of course. Not convinced these surveys do anything other than tick a ‘we survey our patients’ box. Get rid of the adverts for a start or improve the tech. Or even better engage with the patient on a human level…

I was very weary about this as last time I tried online with a different app it was useless. This app though has been absolutely amazing, my usual pharmacy would never have my prescription done or hadn’t received it all and it was making it so hard for me sometimes having to go without pain relief, I wasn’t allowed to phone my drs up to request it and I wasn’t allowed to phone the pharmacy either. So it had become ridiculous to get all my medication on time. And with me being so Ill, I was finding it difficult to get to the pharmacy especially if I kept having to go back and forth. Since having this app it’s made getting my medication so much easier and it gets delivered for me which makes it all stress free and I always have my medication on time each month. It also give reminders of when I’m starting to run low and need to request a new prescription. The last couple of weeks Iv had a couple of problems but they are ones that can’t be helped. I definitely recommend this app to anyone brilliant service and delivery of medication when needed.

I use this app regularly & have found it quick & easy to use, not least in that I don’t need to go to the doctors first to get the prescription but just straight to the pharmacist.
It didn’t automatically update a prescription change / confirm a long term changes to a trial prescriptions. If any changes are made you need to call your doctor & ensure they make / confirm any necessary changes, to ensure you get the next lot on time.
But, yep, seems fine!

The My GP App

I highly recommend the My GP App. I take all my meds at night, so that is when I realise that I need to reorder them. When I had to order them through the phone line, I used to forget to do it, within the limited opening hours. So using the App, I can do it at night, when I realise I need them.
Also, I am a real technophobe, but I managed to set up and use the App by myself, so that shows how simple it is to set up and easy to use. I even managed to explain to another technophobe, how to set their’s up.
It really has been a big help to me, to make sure I have no gaps in taking my meds, due to ordering late.

I love this app. I use it to reorder prescriptions and it has lots of things including access to the NHS Covid Status System so you can electronically access your vaccine status, LFT results, etc.
There are useful informative accessories within the app linked to NHS services within the community, weight tracking and you can even link it to other tech to monitor your health status.
It’s easy to use, easy to sign up to, fast and reliable!
My appointments show up and remind me when they come up and you can remind yourself to take medication.

Reliable,direct and to the point.

It has removed the possibility of pharmacy error when requesting prescriptions which of course can cause all sorts of problems with missing prescriptions and people denying that you have ordered items and then having to go through the whole process again which of course is a waste of time and leaves one in a vulnerable position without their medication and perhaps having to request an emergency prescription to tide one over.

Good app space to improve

This is a great app specially for people to take lots of medication at different times of the day and have trouble to keep up and don’t take your medication late.
Notifications prompt on your mobile phone screen however they are not accompanied by a sound so I personally missed the time and dosis a few occasions as it was to close to my next dosis.
I think this could be improved, let users chose the sound they want to use with their notifications or have not sound if they prefer to.
I am not sure yet if the app will remind you to order medication when you running out as this is my first round of prescribed medication, however I would assume since is connected to my GP surgery the app has register how much medication was prescribed, times a day to take it, and it will remind me a a week or 10 days before I run out to order more - something that could also be improved if it’s not currently supported.

From the start when you log in it is easy as you only need to enter your few digits pin as opposed to so many multiple security checks with other apps.
Also when it comes to ordering your repeats its even simpler as you get to it straight whilst other apps tend to go into one page to the next which is rather frustrating.
Therefore thumbs up for SIMPLICITY!

I have been able to view my medical records going back to nearly 60 years and seen information on them that I had not even realised till now. This has been fascinating. So brilliant to be able to see referrals and appointments at a touch and order repeat prescriptions. So pleased I downloaded this App and gave permission for my medical records to be on here otherwise I might never have known certain medical facts with dates about myself.

Prescriptions

I have enjoyed the GP app until it came for me to recently request a prescription. I was surprised when I went to pick it up as historically over 17 years, I get 3 months supply for Crohns Disease and there was only 28 days!! As I was due to go on holiday I ordered again 2 weeks before I was leaving on my app only for it to be rejected. This has not happened before. When I called my surgery, many times and explained, they were not helpful and I ended up going on holiday without my full medication!
On my return and requesting on the app again- still rejected, called the surgery explaining again I had none and would be going to attend a family funeral away from home for a week and needed my medication. What a battle I had to try and get my prescription- in the wind the practice manager got involved and again I never got my prescription on time. I went a month without it! All because my app has suddenly started rejecting my request!

Good but…

It would be good if the App allowed you to check your appointments. The App seems to provide the facility but is not working. (My flu jab appointment is not shown).
Secondly, it would be good if hospital or outpatient appointments were integrated into this. I mislaid a letter with a hospital appointment but there was no record on the app. (I did find it, went and the appointment was cancelled!)
Thirdly, I would like to know if I am on a hospital waiting list for a hip operation. I have no idea how to find out. If I ever do find out, I have no idea to see how it is progressing. Why not include this on this app? There is no single point of co-ordination of care - so it seems. So much for Choose and Book. A bit of a joke. Not ungrateful but…..

My app was working fine till the GP changed my home address, so basically I deleted the app got the information I needed from the GP filled everything in, now the app keeps on coming up with an error message about my date of birth, i’m looking forward to getting it working again......... I was contacted by the developer, and my issue was resolved very quickly, app is now working fine and extremely useful I might add!!.....

All the staff at this practice are amazing. The reception staff are so helpful, caring and understanding. They go above and beyond and always made you feel welcome and at ease. The doctors are excellent, I’ve received the best treatment from them. They listen, give you advice and help as much as they can. your not just a number to them you are a person and it’s shows as they care about you and your health. I wouldn’t go anyway else and I highly recommend this practice. I’ve been with Fairmore for 10 years and it’s where myself and my family will stay 😊

Nobody else seems to have mentioned this, but for the last few months this app has had a mind of its own ! The main reason I wanted this is to be able to book or cancel appointments as I’m not able to spend hours on the phone trying to get through in (race for space time slots to book appointments) due to being at work. At first all was fine. However, I now find that I can book an appointment, but I then get a message on screen telling me it’s been cancelled! So I then have to phone the doctors surgery to check this. Sometimes it has been cancelled (for no reason) and sometimes it hasn’t ??!!
This defeats the whole object of me having this app :0(
Such a shame as it was brilliant when I first had this app, but now I can’t see the point as it’s just a pain !!

I’ve been using the app since long before the first lockdown in March of 2020, but it’s been even more useful since then. It makes checking when you last had a prescription raised for an item really straightforward, as well as being able to see all your medications on repeat, and order them, even when the GP surgery is closed or too busy to deal with all phone calls. If you haven’t got the app, I really recommend that you get it as soon as you can.

Really great service. I’m always stunned by how easy it is. I have a number of repeat prescriptions. Having to just tick the ones I want is just so much easier. And, the service reminds you about free delivery options.
Improvements:
Would be great to have prescription payment options listed each time you order a prescription, and a list of who might be eligible for free prescriptions too - and signposting to more info and advice.

This is a great app, I’ve been using it since it first came out. Can order repeat prescriptions, access my medical history, show proof of double vaccination status wit photo ID of myself and a green tick . I can record blood pressure and weight daily (this is not visable to the doctor unless you show it to them during an appointment) I can see when my appointments are and get reminders. At one time I could make go appointments on the app but for the moment that is suspended.
All in all very useful and worthwhile having this app. I recommend it to everyone.

I used to use the Patient Access app but I couldn’t rent my log in details (it signed me out without warning), this app uses faceid so I don’t need to remember annoying passwords. It can be a little clunky and slow dependent on your internet speed, but it does eventually work. I’m really pleased I don’t need to call the pharmacy as I hate calls, plus it keeps a tab on all my medications. Would be even better if it had the same medication tracking as the MediSafe app.

I was advised by my NHS GP to download this app so that I could order repeat prescriptions. The app contains adverts for private medical services including private GPs, private psychologists, private physiotherapists and diverting my prescription from my pharmacist to an online pharmacy. As a doctor who works in the NHS I am forbidden from recommending any particular private service. This should not be allowed on an NHS endorsed app. I have no way of disabling these functions or turning off the questions to change my local pharmacist to an online pharmacist. It is unclear why these particular companies have been chosen to be able to advertise on this particular app. I find it very frustrating that I cannot turn these settings off.

Makes booking appointments easy but myself and my wife have had no end of problems when it comes to repeat prescriptions. The app requires you to leave a note in the note section before it will accept the repeat. In most cases, you have no need to leave a note so in order to progress the repeat prescription you are forced to put a full stop or asterisk in the notes section. I think the staff at the other end know this is the case that mostly notes are just a character entered to progress the repeat and so they get ignored. This means when you actually add a note it gets ignored!!!! This has happened the last three times we have ordered repeats using the app so I no longer trust it for ordering repeats. I now feel I have no choice but to phone through my repeats in order to ensure the correct items are ordered. I think the notes section should not be a required entry it should be optional and then the notes may actually be paid attention to!!!

I saw MyGP app recommended on a website a while ago and thought I would down load it, just to see what it was about. It was very easy to instal and link to my GP and NHS records.
At first I was somewhat impressed that it reminded me of a Drs appointment I had made. But the real kicker was getting a push notification on my phone to say I’d been invited for my Covid vaccine, with the link to book my appt in the message. I had my jab yesterday and I’m so grateful that I got that invite so quickly.
And just now I was able to order my repeat prescription at the touch of a button, rather than having to go through the hassle of ringing the prescription line.
I’ve already recommended this app to all of my family and friends.

Much easier than before.

Really handy, never go back to the old way now. Been using for about a year and being able to see medical record and past interactions with gp or specialists is really useful. Prescription requests are a breeze now just a couple of presses and it’s done and it tells you when it’s ready where I used to have to call the pharmacy and check if it’s ready several times and then chase up with the GP so it just saves so much time etc. Only small negative is I can’t book appointments on it, it is a feature but always says none have been released by the surgery so maybe this has something to do with covid and will change when things are normal again. But other than that definitely recommend.

I wish to say how impressive the services of the Woolstone Surgery has been throughout this difficult pandemic.
The front room staff have been very professional and helpful. My enquires have been well handled with fruitful outcomes and very supportive assistance.
The back room staff have also been amazing. I went in the other day for my annual Flu jab. It was smooth, socially distanced with good appointment slots and professionally dispensed. The Repeat prescriptions have been orderly and dutifully done and dispatched to my pharmacy electronically.
The Doctors have been very good st listening and dealing with my problems in a caring and professional way.
I am very grateful for the top level of care and service from the surgery despite the numerous challenges of Covid19.
Thanks ever so much. We appreciate you.
Sincerely Your Patient,

I order my monthly prescriptions through this app since it started but the annoying thing is that I also phoned in my order to my prescriptions hotline and not one person has approached me to advise me that there is absolutely no need for me to complete one or the other?
Can I trust that my surgery is acting on my order through my GP App or is through myself calling the prescription hotline??
It would be nice for SOMEONE to let me know so that I am not running around like a headless chicken trying to make sure that my medication arrives at my home in good time!!!
Thank you.

The app took ages to “approve” my registration . Sending photos of ID and video recordings of my face was all very time consuming . It might have been worth it in the end if the functions then available were useful . This may not be a problem that is the fault of the app , but possibly because the electronic records in my GP practice are not up to date.
However after all that faff , I seem to now only have the ability to book smear tests at my GP (not really very useful for a middle aged man!) . The practice wont allow any other appointment bookings , nor allow access to any of my notes . The only thing I was allowed to see was that I had no allergies and a repeat prescription for voltarol cream (that I have never used , and don’t remember ever using) .
In summary a waste of time for me , and I suspect anyone else who only occasionally sees their GP.

I like this app. It is good and easy to use. It contains most of the feature I like. I did have a few issue with it operating slowly at one point, but the tech support from the app supplier was very good and dealt with the issues, keeping me fully informed about what was going on. It also took a while to get some of the features linked up to my GP’s system so that they work, but most on the features are now working ok. Unfortunately my GP practice has now decided to use another app to handle appointment booking, but this app still works for all the other functions which is great. Overall I am quite impressed with this app and would recommend it.

General Comments

It works fairly well, well in a fashion. Insufficient characters can be entered in the comments box when one requires to provide detailed reason for a request for a repeat prescription. The notifications do not make sense. One gets “Rejected “ for requests which can and has meant that the medication is already in the chemist waiting to be picked up. If as is the case for myself, one works abroad then one needs to take additional medication with them. This can cause problems as one does not get a proper response back through the app and the chemist says that they have no access to the app and can not provide all the medication for you even though it is in a drawer with your name on it. Yet another case of bureaucracy where the left hand does not communicate with the right hand. Other than that a convenient way to get a repeat prescription.

This is a great app for re-ordering repeat prescriptions, however the only problem if you need anything other than on the list of history as in (my different nasal spray )I have to drive down to doc to put it in, if it’s a non repeat item , then it would be good to at least be able to ask in another field displayed and then the doc could advise or not administer ? Just saves more time and docs time in end, otherwise loving the app and very good service
Thank you

I found this very tedious due to my having to re add my link in details which would not be recognised due to the practice site changing from Oxford road to park side. I had to then log in via NHS web site which for some older people would be a nightmare needed to be able to take photographs immediately and send . I appreciate the difficulty practices have with COvid but there must be an easier way it took me 2 attempt to be able to get nhs clearance and I’m computer literate

This app makes it possible for me to manage my complex health needs and also maintain a normal life and job. I no longer have to find 9-5pm space in a busy job to sit on endless phone calls waiting for an answer. I can order exactly what meds I need so I don’t end up with an excess of prescription items or things being missed. I can also track the outcome of blood results to show directly to my hospital consultants. I am back in control of my own health needs.

At first I was against using the app and having my prescriptions sent direct to a nominated pharmacy. I like having the human/personal contact. By using My GP app it is so easy to use and saves me time and money as I use to enclose a SAE when submitting my repeat prescription. I can now just do it all from the comfort of my home using my app and my prescription is ready for me to collect within 2 to 3 days. It is so much more easier than you think. I would say give it a try what have you got to lose.

I find this app User Friendly as it is designed well. Nice layout & clear headings & dropdown. As ive had Asthma since i was a toddler, & RRMS since 17, my main use for the app is my many prescriptions. As a working person, this saves me so much time.
The app is Very Reliable - no outages in the 6months+ since ive been using it.
One tiny gripe is that i cannot see my activation details. As im logged in with my biometric security, i dont understand why this is ****out . I wanted to make a note of this in case i lose the app/get a new phone as i cant find my original letter (was issued to me in 2014), so i wanted to avoid having to ring the surgery etc to start the process again in that event. They’re super busy with COVID19 & as a result you cant just “pop in” either.
But that is the only complaint i have so overall i still rate the App 5 stars

After submitting a ton of personal data and verification obtained from GP, we realised that it is impossible to log out from the account, it just does not happen even if you remove the app and try installing again! Moreover, if you have a new phone number, you can’t change it in your account, you can’t change anything about your account and they have full control of your data, while provide 0 services. My GP does not allow appointments booking online and my son’s account does not have a record of his repeat prescription, so I still have to go in and fill in the paper version. Completely useless waste of time app! Avoid!

Just a quick question about your latest update for the app.
Description says: Bugs fixes and improvements. So, is that means previous update was with bugs? Or you just making visibility to your employer that you doing something so your salary is justified???
Is this latest update contains bugs? Just want to see your response so I could compare in the future with your next update, please? Do you actually testing your updates before release it? Because if you’d test it – where the bugs would coming from? Will you make another update in the nearest future and if yes – what is it for and why, because your current update has no bugs and it’s stable?
Thank you.

Appalling app Personal Data harvesting beware

Appalling app I like many others downloaded the app and I was asked for all my personal data mobile number/date of birth etc only to be told that the myGP app would not work at my GP surgery?! I then tried to upload for my mother and again it just harvested her data and the app didn’t work either! MyGP is as others have stated in their reviews harvesting personal data and there is no way of deleting your records once you have submitted this information. The company in general is making false claims about what the app can do with the many reported flaws in the app repeat prescriptions don’t work, read the reviews and you can’t book appointments and also from the many reviews posted there are issues with adding dependents they should be reported to trading standards and the ICO. Disgraceful company with no ethics or care for patients or morals. It’s all about scamming the NHS clearly.

Lengthy review/complaint:
Had this on my phone for a while (year or so) & thought it was good for storing records & syncing with my GP.
However I recently was informed by my doctors surgery that they no longer use this service. I had no idea!
Upon further communication / research I figured we (patients & service users) are NOT informed about this change & Doctor Receptionists said they did not have way to send out to all patients.
Led to an argument with my dad - “this doesn’t work” “yes it does”
“No it doesn’t”.
Also it seemingly works & still stores the information, but no connection to booking appointments etc with surgery.
Whoever’s responsible (either admin at Drs or software company - it would have been good to be informed contract ended.
(Receptionists informed me system didn’t work & was getting all wrong with patients booking appointments etc..)
Also, as some others (reviews below) I found it difficult booking appointments through this app & I'm pretty sure it didn’t tie up with actual appointments available at surgery.
On behalf of all (patients & staff) who had problems...this is my observation.

Not impressed with this app at all. It’s very basic and if you order repeat medications you have to wait 7 working days before you can collect prescription. It’s quicker and easier to phone the surgery and order it that way 48 hours to collect meds. Yesterday I went to order my repeat prescriptions via the app and have now been informed that I need to go into the surgery with photo ID and get the sign up codes AGAIN. I’ve already done this. The app says you can access your medical records . You can’t at all .I will now be deleting this app.

Questionable Usefulness

My main reason for downloading the app was to order repeat prescriptions, for which the app redirects me to a website to use instead. Alerts to say my prescription is ready don’t come via the app either, I still receive text messages (or sometimes I don’t even get that). The app also doesn’t allow me to contact my surgery via instant messages, it has an instant message function but all I get are medication reminders that I set myself, and a message from my Surgery stating that they don’t use the instant message function. I can track my weight and BMI, but I have health and Fitbit apps that already do that. The app has added nothing to my experience dealing with my GP. I’m still better off just ringing them or going in to ask questions. Not sure why they recommended this app to me at all.

Most important feature simply doesn’t work

 –

The best feature of the app by far is the ability to book appointments on the fly, which is great as it can be very hard to get through to my surgery on the phone. Unfortunately while I can see all the appointments that are available attempting to book any of them just returns the message “unable to book appointment, please check your internet connection or try again later”. My internet connection is fine and I’ve been trying multiple times over the last 3 days so that message is really useless for an end user.
Not sure if this that this is down to the app/api or a problem at the surgery itself but for this to be an issue for 3 days straight tells me that someone, somewhere doesn’t really care about the service this is trying to provide.

Not impressed so far

Was invited to download the app by my local surgery. They informed me I was due a flu vaccination and suggested I use the app to make the appointment. This is the first time I have used the app so had to log in and agree terms and conditions. The t&c's are so long and complicated they gave me a headache just trying to digest them. Jumped through that hoop and clicked the button to arrange an appointment. Appointments were only shown for one day (11 days from now), could not make that day so ended up telephoning the surgery anyway to sort it out. Dare say it will be helpful some time - just didn't work for me on this occasion.
