Love Hayu programs, and that’s the only reason I’d struggle through this app. Constant error messages - that mean nothing to a customer. Flippant ‘oops’ when these happen - not funny to customers. Feels strange that a content steaming app would be so glitchy.

* Overlay for the next episode (in 4000 seconds!) constantly blocking interaction whilst in AirPlay so rewinding & scanning is not available
* The contact area for the close button is minuscule / poorly positioned so closing an episode is tricky and frustrating

9 times out of 10 when I try to watch something on Hayu it doesn’t work due to a ‘network error’ or ‘you are watching on another device’ error - I watch mainly on one device and don’t share my account with anyone.
I have to resort to watching the content elsewhere most of the time. I am going to cancel my subscription as it is a waste of money at this point.
When it does work (1 time out of 10), I am forced to watch ads first. I’m already paying, this should be ad free!

One of the worst steaming apps out there. Subtitles don’t keep up or are in sync with what’s being said. The advert at the start of watching plays while the actual show you’re wanting to watch plays. The iPad version doesn’t keep note of where I left off on my iPhone (and vice versa) so you always have to remember where you left off and scroll along to that part. You have the “my shows” button and it’s as useful as a chocolate teapot. In the “continued watching” section your “my shows” would appear at the start when there were new episodes….with a wee pink block that said “NEW SHOW”….that doesn’t happen anymore. The month and year of upload used to appear below every episode so you could keep track of what you’ve seen/not seen….that doesn’t happen anymore. Also, the buttons are awful and you have to tap them a good 10/15 times before they decide to do anything. (Not a problem with my device as all the buttons on other apps work!) But! I don’t have anywhere else to watch the American reality shows I like so I’m stuck paying for this nonsense.

Well, I still subscribe to hayu, but now through prime, as all versions of the app available to me are terrible. It would frequently crash, forget where I was in episodes. It is very clunky to navigate, without continue watching on the home page, and if you want to skip forward or back an episode from the one you were currently watching, you have to go in and search. There’s no skip recap, nor skip intro - if I’m rewatching RHONY again, I don’t need to see it every time (both are available through the prime player).
Then there’s the subtitles. They run fast, but also poorly transcribed (which can middle the meaning and make it hard to follow for the hard of hearing) but also stay onscreen when there’s pauses in the dialogue. At one point I was watching on my iPhone, and the audio was behind the visuals, but also the subtitles were ahead of the visuals. I know this is popcorn tv, but that was laughable. Also because I signed up for payment through my Apple ID, I couldn’t sign in to the tv app. So I cancelled during my free trial, but resubscribed another way.
But as a content provider? PERFECT! Same day episodes? Yes please! All the housewives that I could eat? Yes, and more! Brilliant content, terrible execution.

The content on Hayu = amazing. However the app itself is almost unusable. Constantly casts the wrong episodes to the tv, tells me I’m using too many devices (I am only logged in on my iPhone no where else) and constantly comes up with error messages.
Don’t even get me started on downloaded content. Why on Netflix, Nowtv, Prime etc do downloads work perfectly but as soon as I am on a flight or train I try and load up my downloaded episodes on Hayu and I am just met with either continuous loading or an error message.
Hayu I am paying a monthly subscription - please do better.

I was really exited to get this app after learning it had all 10 seasons of below deck on. But after watching a few episodes I went back the next day and it had lost where I was up to I had to search each episode to work out what episode I was last watching, Which isn’t so bad until I learnt it’s a repetitive problem! The app NEVER remembers what episode I last played it is always way behind. Hayu please fix your continue watching. Using the 7 day free trial but may cancel it before the week is up

Love Hayu but the app is trash. My downloads NEVER work no matter what device I download them on. In three years I think I’ve only downloaded something and successfully watched it… twice? I never have the right stuff in ‘continue watching’, the subtitles and often the audio don’t match up with what’s on screen. I also hate that if you click on something by an accident, the adverts play and you can’t click off it again until the advert has finished (unless you quit the whole app). The content and having access to shows at the same time they are airing in the US is great, however the app is just so unreliable! Really glitchy, can’t rely on recording anything as it rarely plays back when you’re trying to then watch it remotely away from Wi-Fi. Support team are really good at getting back to you, however nothing ever seems to resolve it. Doesn’t keep track of where you are if you’re watching via mobile app and then on your TV which would be a good improvement as it’s really annoying having to locate the episode and where you were. Like I said, great to have access to the shows but the app really needs improving

Love the content but the app is atrocious!! Downloads constantly fail to play, when you live stream it uses ridiculous amounts of data, and when you delete a programme it stays in your phone’s memory, the only way to get rid of it is to delete the app and re-install. SORT IT OUT!!

I’ve had two months of payments taken now for a super glitchy app that rarely works properly. Currently it’s telling me to renew even though payments are still going out and I’m still subscribed, but it just gives you the wheel of death when you try to renew. I can watch it on my laptop though but can’t use the app or watch it on tv. I’ve tried emailing, via the contact form on the app and on all their social accounts and so far they’ve gone unread (it’s been a month). This is the worst app I’ve ever used with non existent customer service.

I’m already paying for this service, why am I being shown ads about Hayu on the app? Serves no purpose but to annoy me and consider unsubscribing. Have lost count on the amount of times I’ve had to delete and redownload the app because it crashes every time I try to open it. As well, there is no option to remove from ‘Continue Watching’, when a season ends I have to rush to exit out because otherwise some show I would never watch starts autoplaying and will forever live on my feed. Yes…I know…just go to the end and it’ll remove itself, 1 I shouldn’t have to do that, 2 this doesn’t work and a new season comes out. Finally, what happened to the subtitles? Can this not be synced?
The content is great, the execution is poor. I keep trying to give this another chance.

I downloaded hayu to finish watching kuwtk after watching season 5-10 on Netflix which I’ve never had any streaming problems with. This app always buffers, disconnects, never shows my recently watched so I can continue watching where I left off so I have to manually search the show and find the episode I was on, restarts the show mid way though or when I go back will be on a completely random episode and logs me out randomly too. The fact you pay the app and it still has advert is disappointing, the whole reason you pay for a streaming app is for no adverts. the skip forward/back button never works so if you try to manually forward to where I left off it doesn’t show the clip so you don’t know where you were watching from. No skip intro button. although it has a great selection of shows, I will not be continuing with my subscription.

I’ve been using this app for ages because it’s how I watch my American reality tv, but the actual app can’t cope. It’ll just stop at random points throughout the programme and quit it, which makes it extremely painful to watch. It’s also taken my money for a new subscription and won’t now work which is not okay - the app keeps saying there’s an error even though it’s taken my money. So it won’t let me watch anything now and then it’ll come up with error meaning I have to close the whole app down and reopen it just to do the same thing again, over and over. I’ve even cancelled the subscription to try again but it won’t even let me get a subscription now.
I’ve given it multiple chances to work but now I think I've finally given up - don’t bother with the app unless you have immense patience. It’s a shame because it’s a great idea for us in the UK where we want to access these American programmes, but someone needs to urgently work on the app.

HayU have had so long to perfect this app now. I’ve had it before a couple of years ago and the app performance was always terrible to the point where I cancelled my subscription. I downloaded it again recently in hopes it had improved which it hasn’t, now I have to watch ads when I’m already paying a monthly subscription? On top of that the app frequently signs me out, jumps to a different episode of something I’m watching and now, I can’t watch anything at all because the a small part of the audio repeats itself multiple times meaning it’s out of sync with the visuals. I have got the most recent update and uninstalled and re-downloaded the app in hopes this would fix the issue but it didn’t. What’s the point in paying for a subscription if I can’t actually enjoy watching anything?

I only subscribed to Hayu for one show, but I’m having so many issues I’m genuinely considering blowing it all off and using an illegal streaming site instead. At least with those websites I expect constant issues. Every time I pause a show and close the app, it just starts playing again in the background. And if I pause it, it will play itself again. And if my sound is down, I can’t hear it playing to pause it. It’s beyond ridiculous. Sometimes I need to just lock my phone and get up, but instead I have to close the video window, and close the entire app before locking my phone or rest assured one of the kardashians is speaking to me through my phone. You literally have one job as an app developer and you can’t even do that right. Please get on top of playback issues in the iOS app because it’s pathetic. A team of developers and for what? You’re not developing anything worthwhile that’s for sure.

This apps reliability has been shoddy from its very first release. Constantly crashes on every devise. Tv app leaves a loading screen when running on to next episode, you can not go back or use any other remote function when you are watching so you have to exit the whole app and start again. On a laptop device you get through 3/4 of an episode at best, it will just stop and buffer, having to refresh the whole site and it also doesn’t load content straight away. Casting to a Google chromecast works but buffers every few minutes. This all only happens with Hayu and I use a lot of other streaming apps so I know it has nothing to do with my connection. I have begrudgingly paid for this service since it’s release because it is the only place in the uk I can legally watch shows from America. As soon as I can find an alternative streaming service with the same content I will be leaving. Does Hayu not regularly test their own site because this is ridiculous

I’ve been using this to catch up on the real housewives of Atlanta and Beverly Hills - however the app has so many pain points that need to be addressed to improve experience. The biggest issue is that you get a 20 second advert when you hit play - this usually plays an advert over the top of your show. This is incredibly annoying considering I’m a paying member - this should not be a thing.
Recently the show will skip right to the end and you have to scroll back quickly because it starts to auto play something random. Countless times it autoplays Vanderpump Rules and now that keeps coming up on my home feed. The skip forward and back buttons do not work well at all - they fade on tap which means you have to tap again to bring them back, then tap the button again and rinse and repeat. It’s a shame as with a few improvements this app could be great, but ads on a paid membership is unacceptable.
I’ve just cancelled my subscription.

Love Hayu and love the content, but the app is not only slow to react but it keeps glitching and suddenly I’ll hear the audio of the episode starting from the beginning 2+ times laid over the sound of the episode at whatever point I’m at. The app also doesn’t allow for episodes to flow into one another easily. It would be nice to be able to skip to the next episode in the episode before the end. Like Netflix and most other streaming sights being able to see the episode guide, next episode button and skipping forward all In the player, as closing the episode and skipping etc is so slow as the app lags. And glitches a lot. Another issue is really hard to continue watching from your last place - eg if I’ve skipped a season or episode, it keeps trying to force me to start from the beginning of the series or rewatch. The accessibility is also not great, there is not enough margin around buttons, the app is harder to navigate as you have to scroll down or hunt to find what you’re currently watching. And subtitles and audio description is not available or when it is it lags
Also so so many unskipable almost minute long adds is highly annoying when I'm already paying for the service

Hayu app has a great range of programmes to watch, which are typically unavailable anywhere else. Additionally the one month free trial is very enticing and worked for me to purchase the £4.99 monthly subscription. However, there are many issues with this service. The main being that wether you are playing a download or streaming, the app has a tendency to not load the programme, or just crash halfway through the programme. Frequently, it will not let you download a programme (even when you have the required space and number of downloaded available). Additionally the UI is unnecessarily difficult to navigate. Sometimes the app will play adds on downloads or streams (even with the monthly subscription), and then will struggle or fail to load the actual programme after. If people are paying for a monthly service, it seems unfair to also give them advertisements, I don’t know any other service that actually does this. I don’t think this app is a cash grab, but it feels poorly designed to look fabulous but practically doesn’t work about 40/50% of the time.

How is an app made this badly? Even when you have your shows downloaded, it can take 30 seconds or more to actually open the app (and not one of my other apps takes anywhere this long). And if you don’t have a good connection? Good luck even opening the app (even if you’ve pre-downloaded your episodes)
Once the app has opened, well you’ll probably need to re-login as the app has unexpectedly signed you out. Then once you’ve found your way to your downloaded episode then… oh your download has someone disappeared! Now you must stream it but you’re only getting 3G (that was the reason why you downloaded it in the first place).
Did you watch half the episode earlier? Well there’s a 50/50 chance that the app remembers where you last were… 50% the time (and this 50% is me being kind to the developers) you’ll just have to start the episode from the beginning. Finding where you last left off is easy! Just move the scroll bar to where you think you were, wait 30 seconds for it to buffer, then when you move the scroll bar again you’ll have to wait another 30 seconds, etc etc (usually takes 3 or 4 times before you find the right spot).
So in short, it will only take you 10 minutes to start watching your favourite content :)
Thank god the Real Housewives of Beverley Hills are there to stop me giving this app 1 star 🙂

New episode of real housewives of Beverly Hills wasn’t available to be viewed last Friday as normal , it’s so annoying that there’s no explanation as to why or when it will be shown, why wasn’t there message to say it will be delayed and the next date it will be aired, I mean how hard can it be to inform customers? .
I don’t know if its just me but I can’t seem to find a schedule as to when programs will be be shown, it would be so helpful to know to save time checking everyday .
The app is terrible and when watching if I need to pause the programme or fast forward/ rewind then the programme won’t restart and and error message constantly shows, in the end I have to delete the app then reinstall constantly, it’s the major reason I cancelled hayu last year and to see that its not improved is very disappointing
Hayu should be a great way to watch these programs but there’s a lot that can be improved upon .

I’m getting increasingly disappointed by this app and the customer service.
I’ve been dealing with the same issue for a while now and there has been no resolution. All I’ve been told to do is follow the same steps over and over even when I’ve said that this is making no difference.
I have 2x Apple TV’s. When I log in /pair on one it logs me out on the other one. When I am watching a show a line will repeat and then all of the audio and visual is out of sync. To fix this I have to exit the show; shut down the app completely and then re enter and re start the show. Sometimes this doesn’t even fix it and I’ll have to do it at least 3x in one 40 minute show.
I’ve tried deleting the app; deleting the pairings, restarting the Apple TV and re-pairing and this doesn’t solve anything.
The customer support is a joke and they take days to respond to you, then when they do respond they just repeat the same thing. ‘Have you tried re starting and re pairing’... very close to removing my subscription as it’s just too much of a pain to be paying out for a service that doesn’t work!!

Update: I’ve found that buying the Hayu subscription through Now tv is the best solution to this. Their app actually works properly, none of the nonsense you get with Hayu. I’ve been using Hayu for about 9 months as I work my way through the Real Housewives franchises. If it weren’t for the fact I can only get full seasons on Hayu, I wouldn’t keep on paying the subscription. I can probably count the number of weeks the app has worked well on one hand. There always seems to be problems. Currently, I have constant issues with the sound and picture going out of sync. I have to restart the episode to correct it; while watching a recent 44 minute episode I had to restart 10 times which is frankly insane. Otherwise I’ve had problems with the app crashing while watching certain shows, being logged out constantly, the app not remembering where I’ve left off... The fact that the entire point of this app is to watch video means that all these issues are totally unacceptable. It shouldn’t be such a big ask to be able to actually watch content you’ve paid good money for!

I’ve had this app for a while now and the problems are never ending. There is always trouble when casting to my tv it will either play a random episode or bug out and say I cannot play on more than one device even after I restart the app it will refuse to load eventually I just give up. There has also been multiple times where it will lose track of what episode to continue watching so then I have to try and figure out what episode I am on. Finally please to not get me started on the lagging issue you’ll be watching an episode and it will lag then the audio will be behind on the actual video you then have to restart the app even afterwards it will keep doing it every three minutes or less!! After I had enough I wanted to get help and contact them but there is no way. I always make sure the app is up to date as well so I know that isn’t the problem. I come on the App Store to find everyone else seems to be having this issue. If I am paying for a service I expect it to be worth it and this app isn’t its absolute trash

If I could get away with giving no stars I would. What I can’t understand is why the developer of this app can’t fix the tvOS app issue that has a delayed audio issue and the only way to fix it is to stop watching, close the app, restart the app and then watch your programme again, this goes on every 5-10 minutes on average. All other developers of apps take feedback on board, resolve it with updates but the last time the tvOS app was updated was 23 February. Very poor customer experience and I’m not prepared to pay for a service that doesn’t work. When will this issue be resolved? I’ve emailed your support team only to be told they can’t provide an estimate into when it will be resolved! Zero star rating from me, not good enough!

Should be illegal that you charge people for this app. It’s a joke how badly made it is, nothing but problem after problem. It’s so slow and half the links to watch or play tv shows don’t work. It’s impossible to actually watch anything in one sitting because of the amount of time the videos lag, go blurry or the sound doesn’t load with the video and the sound skips around and replays. You can watch about 30 seconds of a show before you have to pause it and wait for the rest to load for at least 5 mins or restart to synchronise the sound. And it takes another 5+ minutes to load the next episode in a series. Some days the app just fully doesn’t work and you get a message saying “the servers are down” but you still have to pay for the days you can’t event watch anything!!! Actually criminal!!! I get these issues on any device or internet connect I use as well. It genuinely just seems like whoever put this app together had no idea what they were doing.

Sometimes this app won’t even open at all!! It’ll work one day then not the next day. It’s a terrible app, it’s been days since I could use it on my iPad and when I contact the support team they say they’re looking into it and to watch online on the website instead of the app then I never hear back. Trying to watch online is a similarly awful experience as it constantly goes out of sync with audio and visuals. The only place the service actually works is on your tv but all my other apps work great on my iPad just not this app I have to pay for!!! I give it 1 star but that’s only because it has the shows I like just can’t watch them how I would like too.

Poor customer service and the app has many glitches which gets very very irritating e.g. randomly stopping whilst watching meaning you need to reload in the middle of an episode. On my phone in my subscriptions it told me my unsubscription was successful and expired June 2020. I then noticed a few months later that I was still being billed by Hayu. When I contacted them they told me I had not unsubscribed properly
And refused to refund me. This is something to be careful of if trying to unsubscribe from the app... you cannot do it as if it’s Netflix or Apple Music but this is not made clear to consumers so I find Hayu to be a very shady company who I’d rather not support! However, the subscription is cheap and gives people in the UK access to some of the good American shows out there which is my only reason for giving 2 stars rather than 1.

When this app first came out it was good, simple to use and easy to pick up where you left off.
I took a break to save some money, I came back to find the app had changed. Tried to log in on my old account and it didn’t accept my log in details, so had to set up a new account.
What this app does is it regularly logs you out, then you have to try and log back in, but be aware that you may end up creating a new account instead. For example I just tried to log in via email, and the app told me there was no Twitter account under this name registered ?!?!? I mean what!!
It doesn’t show what you’ve watched so if you watch lots of things like me and then go back to show, I am never quite sure what the last episode I watched was as this app doesn’t show it anymore, it use to, and I can’t understand why this is one of the things it’s removed. So I spend about 10 minutes clicking on and off episodes to figure out where I was.
It’s just not a very friendly user face.
So tried to set it up on fire stick on the tv, and that’s even more confusing then the app, that’s showing me tv programmes that I was watching when I first downloaded this app, and not what I have recently been watching on my IPad. So have deleted it of firestick as it’s too confusing.
So buggy and glitchy, they are obviously trying to make all the interfaces better but in fact are making them worse. Needs a lot of work.

I only downloaded and subscribed to this app as that’s my only means of getting to watch all of the housewives franchises. However, this is most certainly the worst on demand tv app I have ever used. It lags so much. I’d be watching an episode and it would get stuck on a scene and the quality of the video would go down. Worst of all mid way through watching an episode I always get an error message saying that a network problem occurred. However my WiFi works perfectly with other apps like Netflix so the error is from the lacklustre and horrible design of the app with the constant error messages. And most annoyingly when I close the app to go on by my day and go back to watch the episode it restarts it from the start instead of resuming it from where I left off. Or more annoyingly it goes on to a different season instead. This app is horrible. Buggy and a waste of money. Would not recommend what so ever.

I have never written a review before this app, but this app particularly annoys me. It has great shows! They’re amazing! However it always crashes, every single time you come off the app, and sometimes in the middle of playing something and you have to close it completely and reopen it. When you tap on the screen the options come up to skip and you can only press it once at a time before the options go away which is super annoying, the buttons aren’t responsive to touch either, you have to tap right in the middle of the button to get it to do anything. It’s not easy to add shows to a favourites list or pick up off where you left off. Unlike netflix it doesn’t ask you if you’re still watching, sometimes my phone drains itself playing show after show. It’s a terribly designed app but it has great shows.

Firstly I love the idea of the app, it’s very different to everything else out there and think the content is great, all my favourite bravo shows and more in one place.
However, I find the app’s layout itself confusing and difficult, there’s just a lot going on and I think it could be done in a much simpler way.
The app crashes a lot, sound doubles over, forgets where I have watched up to, and it’s incredibly slow to download shows (no matter how strong the WiFi connection is) I have waited 2 hours for a 43 minute episode to download because the app kept on crashing. And even though it has regular updates they never seem to fix these issues.
Once again I love this app but the issues that have been here for a year still haven’t improved.

I got this to watch KUWTK which is literally the only show that interests me on there. Not to say you won’t find more because it does have a lot of content. However, watching anything on the phone is an awful experience. There isn’t a video player function so you just have to make the picture big to fit the screen, that seems pretty amateur for a streaming platform. Secondly it after signing up I thought I was logged in, took a while to learn I wasn’t as all I could watch were adverts , this needs to be clearer and surely you should be automatically logged in once you sign up? Finally when an episode finished the next episode starts and the audio is doubled and out of sync, so you can hear the voice in double. You have to close it and start again and you get multiple pop ups saying something went wrong. Quite frustrating and just not very professional. Cheaper than other streaming services but certainly not as well executed and I would not keep it long term.

Absolutely love the content on this app!!!! Being based In Uk it’s great to be able to view my fave programmes the same time as US. However.... whenever I download for times when I do not have data accessibility this almost NEVER works (even though I select play downloaded version rather than stream online). I also have trouble downloading anything unless I continually ensure my phone does not lock and that at all times I stay on the hayu app. Another fault would be that it never saves the correct scene I paused at and if I also do not return to my download within the same day every time I go to access the download it bounces me out of the app. I have experienced these issues since having the app for over a year and seems as though no updates that have been released have managed to fix these bugs. Please fix !!!!!!!

Iv had this for about 5 years and I hate that I have to pay for such a crap app, it’s got worse over time. The app was changed last year and was changed for the worse. finding a particular programme to play isn’t easy and when you do and press play it doesn’t always work... on WiFi or not, often plays and all I can see is a black screen. I’m forever being kicked out of the app and it never recognises my password and waste time trying to reset it, there isn’t anyone to contact for help. It’s soooo annoying when watching a programme and for no reason get logged out and then it doesn’t carry on where you left off, it takes you back to the begging. I never bother to make reviews on apps but this app has me so frustrated I had to write something.

I’ve been subscribing to Hayu for over 2 years now, in the main it’s a great concept but the software itself is pretty shabby. Across 4 devices (iPhone, Note9, MacBook Pro and Windows desktop) the website doesn’t work with Firefox or Opera, occasionally works on Edge and Safari, sometimes doesn’t remember what season you’re on and will often auto play season 1 episode 1 when you’re on season 9 of a show, other times it does and crashes an awful lot. The other irritating thing, is when you take the time to message support to let them know, their ‘message support’ feature crashes so you log into Facebook (the ONLY other way to contact them) and you get a very generic answer, so they either have read your message and don’t care or they haven’t bothered to read your message. Hopefully someone else will create a similar app soon that actually works!

I love my reality TV programmes but have had constant issues with this app. I didn’t realise for months I had a duplicate account which was taking 2 lots of the monthly subscription as the app kept telling me my trial was over and so I had to resubscribe. However the main problem I have had is the CONSTANT technical errors that come up! I watch HAYU most days and I cannot remember a day when there wasn’t something go wrong, either an error message coming up and stopping the programme, the app not opening, no picture but sound, sound but no picture, lagging, poor video quality, the list is endless. Every time I have ever emailed tech support the response is always poor so I never bother anymore. I would definitely recommend to people not to download this app if they want a decent experience.

Given that Hayu’s entire product offering is their app, it’s astounding how poor it is - on all platforms (web, mobile, Apple TV, Console). It feels like there’s zero investment or care given. Unfortunately a lot of their content is exclusive to Hayu which leaves their terrible platform the only option - really resent giving such a lazy company my subscription fees every month! For example - downloading offline barely ever works (having to reinstall app repeatedly to avoid corrupted downloads), the app never gets ‘continue watching’ right which having to use their terrible navigation EVERY time you want to watch something, being constantly spammed with pop-ups that don’t remember your ‘don’t show again’ checkboxes, no customisation at all for menus or lists so your always being directed towards shows you don’t watch. I could go on!

I downloaded this app through iTunes and filled in all the info they requested. I then decided to cancel my account, so I cancelled my subscription through iTunes as I was told to do. This was over a week before the renewal date. On the renewal date I found money taken out of my PayPal by these thieves. They have lied to PayPal and me to stop a refund. They’ve admitted a duplicate account was made, but my some imaginary hacker they’ve concocted. That’s not the case, any PayPal details were requested by them when I opened the account. I did everything correctly and they have lied and lied and lied and lied. They know I cancelled and they know any error was their end. Do not sign with them. If you need more proof read their Trustpilot reviews. They have done exactly the same to other people. Do you all want to know how this imaginary second account got cancelled? I reported them to PayPal. Even though PayPal seem to support this abuse of trust. iTunes- please stop this app and scummy company from defrauding anyone else and delete this app from your store

Reality TV is my dream, so this app is brilliant. Content I couldn’t fault. I love that it has all series right from the beginning and it suggest shows that I actually would enjoy. Well worth the money!!
Recently, since the latest update, where the colour scheme and look changed quite a bit, I have had problems with the ‘continue watching’ section. It shows with a pink bar how far I am into an episode but every time I click on it starts from the beginning and it is an effort to find where I am each time. Also if I come off the app for a moment then go back on it, it always displays ‘playback error’ and shuts down the programme. As well, the password isn’t necessary for me, so I was wondering if I can turn this off?
Other than those small issues, it’s a great app and I spend far too many hours on it 🤪

I love the shows on this platform but the excecution of pairing with your smart TV, watching on your ipad etc is horrible - on any device for that matter. It baffles me how the customer service seem to think this is a isolated issue and treat it as such when it happens everyone! Rethink your IT guys honestly. I have 3 types of smart TV all of which it logs me out of whenever it feels like at random. Constantly having to log in and freezing. You cannot search properly. When you want to start a show from where it was left off it brings up 3 seasons before you watched a few months ago, never the most recent. Complete mess up. If i didnt love the shows I would never even bother. This is a paid service!! Sort it out please and this app could end up being awesome for a lot of people, for now I will not be recommending anyone.

I’ve heard about this app for awhile and I was kind of contemplating whether to try out or not I then tried it out it works fine for two weeks and then this happens
This app worked great for the last two weeks I downloaded it for holiday I didn’t get back from holiday on the 17th of August I watched the Kardashians yesterday and it worked fine and then when I tried to watch some of it this morning it said I had to pay £4.99 for the subscription but my free trial hadn’t ended it ends on the 8th of September and I tried everything I could I tried logging out and then logging back in I deleted the app and then sign back in I cancelled my subscription and then tried to apply for a new subscription with a new email address and nothing would work I don’t know why this is but if you do you know why can you please help me because I can’t watch the shows because it says that I’m in the wrong region when I live in the UK and it’s worked ever since I downloaded the app up until now.
Was going to give this a five star review but at a push it’s only worth 2 moment because I can’t even sign in everytime I go back onto the app it signed me out and I have to return back in and I think that’s why it doesn’t work.

The shows on here are great. However the app/website itself is incredibly glitchy. It restarts the episode I’m watching randomly, or while I’m watching just randomly goes back to the home page. It needs to be fixed. It’s very frustrating having to log on and you have to search for a show every time time because it chooses when to have your last watched episodes on the homepage for you whenever it feels like it. Furthermore, I think the app needs a favourites tab so u can go straight to your favourites and watch what your watching because what’s the point in favouriting something when u have to search it up every time u want to watch it. Other than that the shows on here are really good.

Hayu offers a wide range of reality TV shows for an affordable monthly rate. This is particularly good for British viewers as access to some American TV shows can be difficult.
Unfortunately the app requires you to sign in every time you start it up which is annoying. Also, it doesn’t remember where you left off during an episode/series which is very frustrating as you have to try and remember which episode you were on constantly. Finally, the stream sometimes cuts out for no reason where you have to reselect the title and episode all over again.
Although the content is great, the quality of the service just doesn’t compare to other online streaming services.
It may be more beneficial to buy a Hayu pass via Now TV which has a more sophisticated service.

I came across this app about a week ago and I instantly got the subscription just to watch KUWTK. The app is horrendous! I have had nothing but continuous problems with it! I compared the website version on my laptop to the app version and if it was up to me I’d prefer to use the website version, however it doesn’t let me unless I am using a computer or else it just diverts me to the app or says it can’t be played. It doesn’t load properly, it’s laggy, it is constantly booting me out the app and force closing itself for no reason, it never lets me use captions unless I download the specific episode I want to watch and even then the captions aren’t correct, nothing is spelt right and the words merge together. Worse app but best website I have ever used! It makes no sense! Please fix whatever it is as it would be a shame to not have proper access to such a potentially amazing app.

When I first got the Hayu app, I was so excited because I could watch shows that I enjoy without having to search to watch them for ages. The app does have great shows on there but, it is frustrating when app constantly logs you out and continuously crashes. It’s so annoying when you just wanna watch a show when you’re on your lunch break but, it takes for ages just to load the show as; it constantly logs you out and they have to mess about to login back in. In addition to that, they need to make downloads of shows a lot faster as; it takes for ages or the download fails which is frustrating.
I wouldn’t mind the problems app but, seen as though I am paying for it, it’s just becoming annoying. Hayu needs to update these bugs as soon as possible, otherwise they are going to start losing customers; me being one of them.

The idea of having all guilty reality TV pleasures in one place at my fingertips is quite literally the best thing since sliced bread. HOWEVER, and it is a big however, the actual app itself is so subpar to the content it provides. It regularly logs you out of the app, and thrusts subscription adverts before videos when I already pay monthly and have done for a while now. It also struggles to note where I stopped watching something, will tell me I’m half way through watching something I haven’t even started, and will sometimes throw me out of streaming claiming I “cannot be streaming more than one show at a time”. If I close the app and come back to it later it will throw me an error meaning I have to force quit the app and start over again.. and these are really just a few of the issues I’ve experienced. This review is not to whinge or sound ungrateful, but to provide some key user feedback to hopefully enable developers some insight to move forward with the app and allow it to blossom into its true potential.

Hayu has a tonne of great content on the app which is its one redeeming feature.
However, its execution of the app is so poor it completely takes away this quality. It may as well not have any of this good content as it seems to be accessible under certain very specific conditions and times.
For starters, it logs you out of your account constantly meaning you have to re enter your account details nearly every time you re open the app which is really frustrating.
Secondly, it seems to be ‘down for essential maintenance’ and be inaccessible right when I go to watch it for a long time - and it never fixes any of the existing bugs!
The most frustrating part of the app for me is that it is near impossible to download episodes to watch offline which should be an easy feature to use on a stable internet connection which I have. However this is not the case. It nearly always fails and is barely usable meaning I’m not able to watch shows offline that I pay my subscription for - they are only available to view over a WiFi connection and the download feature is basically completely unusable.
Once these problems are fixed, this would be a great app. But until then it is extremely frustrating.

I used hayu for a several months, nearly a year actually. As usual they took my money for the monthly subscription. But the app wasn’t working so I emailed them I didn’t get a response for at least 4 days, so I got in touch with apple, apple made it clear that it was an issue with HAYU as the app was opening and running etc but as I went to watch something it kept telling me I needed to subscribe or restore my purchases. Baring in mind I had just paid for This months HAYU. So I got in touch with hayu and they said it was on apples end so I counted apple they gave me a a few things to do to see if that would make the app work, and I did it all, and the app still didn’t work so I got back in touch with hayu waited a good 3 days for a reply, and then to be told they can’t issue me a re-fund (I didn’t even mention anything about a re-fund) because they had no record of me paying for it! Which I had bank statements I had a screenshot of my subscriptions on my phone. So I have emailed them back sending both of them, i am sure it is them having issues on their end considering the app isn’t working and also they don’t have record of me paying! I am un-subscribe and i won’t be subscribing again, I only used the APP to watch keeping up with the Kardashian’s so I will be finding a new app to use now. Not wasting my money.

The app has fab content and subscription is great value, however some faults. Sometimes when I open an episode the “scrubbing” bar disappears and I can’t load the video - comes up with “error”. Sometimes restarting the app will work if not I go days without use in the hopes that it will work again. Also using the volume bar sometimes brings up all the pause buttons etc then they don’t disappear again so I’m stuck watching an episode with a giant pause logo in the middle?! Also some episodes completed come up on my “continue watching” with like 97% complete? I’m guessing this means I’ve skipped credits or something but it’s so frustrating because the episode I am at is never in the pick up where you left off section. This means every time I open the app I have to search for the name and series and episode manually - something that is designed to be more fluid on other media apps. Other than that has been very useful just some tweaking needing to happen!

This app is just what I need for a good ol’ catch up of the Kardashian’s. I only downloaded it two days ago but already having loads of problems. It firstly took about an hour to register after error messages saying my registration failed about a million times. I downloaded a program to watch on my commute to work... opened the app and clicked on the download and it crashed the app. Every time I click on this download the app crashes and closes. Another download I tried for today’s commute isn’t even in my downloads! I was very much looking forward to wasting my journey away.
The layout of this app isn’t great. I suggest there should be an easy access recently watched or continue watching section as the app doesn’t remember where you left off on any programs. Lots of improvements need to be made because I love all the programs HeyU has to offer!!

I have had this app for almost a year and since I have used it there has not been one occasion where it is working correctly. It either logs you out and states that you need to sign up for an account, when I indeed have one, it does not remember where you left off watching an episode and then plays it back from the beginning. When using chrome cast the app always crashes resulting in the stream either stopping or playing with interruption with the sound. I have just tried to play some recently added episodes and the app refuses to play them. I have closed down the app on six occasions and still the same issues. Great content but if you are unable to watch them without glitches then it makes the whole experience rather disappointing. Hayu must invest in time and money in rectifying the problem. There are other ways to watch the content without interruption such as a VPN for a similar cost.

I subscribed to this app a year or so ago and found that it was just what I wanted, which was great. The first month was free to watch and then I subscribed. I had been subscribed for at 7 months when I received a message to say my free trial had expired and I needed to subscribe. This stopped me viewing anything. A little confused, I thought maybe the app had expired so subscribed again. After watching the app again for a further 5/6 months it displayed the same message, that my 1 month trial had expired so needed to subscribe and locked me out. This time I thought I’d just check that I had an auto renewal on the app from my iPhone. I looked at my payment history and found I had in fact been charged twice a month for the 5/6 months. I have tried contacting support at hayu, several times to sort out the payment problem and the fact I can not restored my purchase but still no answer from them. Very disappointing.

Have had absolutely endless problems with this app, I love all the programmes on there but actually being able to watch them has been a nightmare! The programmes will play on my phone however I didn’t want to be watching my programmes of a tiny little screen so I bought a google chrome cast which I knew hayu was linked with and is supposed to work with chromecast so it’s ment to connect to my tv, however does not connect atall will come up with error messages or just won’t load, just spent half an hour on the phone to google chromecast support and tested everything possible but it definiatly seems that it’s a problem on your end , as the chromecast works perfectly on all my other apps. I consider you don’t claim that your app supports google chromecast because it doesn’t and for people who spend £30 on the chromecast just to watch hayu and it doesn’t work, is a big let down! Please can you fix this and let me know what’s going on

The documentaries and the programmes on this app are really good, I enjoy them.
However to actually get to watching them through is just effort.
It’s mostly to do with if you pause it and shut your screen it then refreshes the whole programme.
It does have a ‘where you left off section’ but this is shocking because there’s episodes that I’ve actually finished but when I had to click on it to watch the ending it restarted it so it stays there until you finish it.
It doesn’t have anything like a continue watching(which is accurate like when you finish an episode it doesn’t allow you to click onto the next one), so you have to search the programme in the browse tab.
Then to top it off you have to go through individually to find which episode you last watched. All it has is a pathetic pink line at the bottom.
The downloads take forever to actually download? It took me 1:30 hours to download one episode of Kardashian’s by this time I gave up and stopped it. But had managed to download three movies on another platform? But had kept HayU open as otherwise the download would stop
It’s just a really difficult app, should be this difficult to go around things and for £3.99 a month is actually shocking as it just lacks features that work or don’t have at all.

I was super exited to get this app as it is right up my street, there is an impressive amount of content (although it doesn’t look like any new series are ever introduced) and it’s super reasonable for the price. From day 1 of having this app I’ve had nothing but problems, I downloaded it for my fire TV stick and the app regularly logs me out, which wouldn’t be so annoying if it wasn’t like performing brain surgery to re register my device (yes, you have to ‘register’ your device every time the app logs you out). This cannot be done on the app itself so I have to go online and log in on the website which is eerily reminiscent of the Bletchley Park Codebreakers the amount of digits your expected to put in just to watch The Real Housewives. The app also doesn’t remember where I left off in a series which is pretty crucial for getting people to return to the app, it’ll either not recognise that I have watched half of the episodes I have/ they won’t show up under the ‘where you left off tab’ or it’ll remember every single episode I’ve watched and clog up the page. The online site isn’t without its problems as every time I try to log in because the app has kicked me out the password box doesn’t work. I am paying you monthly for an app that isn’t functional and quite frankly doesn’t work at all so please sort this out as the content is great.

Hayu is a great app with a reasonably priced subscription fee. Particularly ideal for those of us that like to zone out to mind-numbing reality TV now and again! Forget recording one episode a week, counting down the days to the next one. Hayu has almost every reality TV series you could want at a touch of a few buttons!
This app has so much potential to be more user friendly and keep subscribers watching but it misses a couple of tricks. There’s a reason Netflix is so popular.. people love easy binge-watching! One important feature that this app is missing is automatically playing the next episode. Instead you have to quickly select the next episode whilst the credits roll or if you miss that opportunity, you then have to search again for the series and then the episode. It can get repetitive and annoying, it sometimes gets glitchy when changing and trying to stream the next episode also.
It would also be great to categorise the TV series into lists like “real housewives of...” and “music-based” etc. The great thing is, there are loads to choose from but with just the A-Z facility, it can be quite cumbersome trawling through irrelevant series when looking for something that will take your fancy.
With just a few tweaks, this app would be awesome!

My experience with this app is just like many other people's reviews on here, I should have listened to them. One month trial is great, after its over and maybe a couple of months into you regular subscription the problems will start. You will be able to log in but not watch anything and a message appears 'your months free trail expired' so your only option will be to resubscribe.....even though you know that you have been paying for months so its not right. First time around you'll resubscribe which will mean you start paying two subscriptions. When I realised, I emailed apple support who were amazing, gave me a refund, they then confirmed I only had one subscription running. The next hayu payment came out on 14th of the month, I went to use it and it didn't work. For a whole month it didn't work, the next moth hayu debited me again....so I sent them an email.....never heard anything from them! Went back to apple & they refunded me AND cancelled my subscription. Steer well clear!
