Face ID suddenly stopped

I’ve had face ID on the app for quite a while now, to the point where I’ve forgotten a passcode which I admit is my fault.
However, the sudden stop is very annoying. On top of that, the passcode recovery requires another password and/or to know the details of your last transaction. I’ve used the second password even less, and the whole point of the app is to review spending so I don’t remember the last transaction on the card. I wasn’t given any other security questions and my account has now been blocked.
I just have to wait for the phone lines to open the next day, unfortunately for me that’s a bank holiday so I don’t know if they will be leaving me cardless over Christmas.
Customer service is unavailable on weekends so it’s actually even longer.

I had to change phones on a holiday to Spain and it’s been impossible to login on the aqua app. I called and talked with agents 7 or 8 times and it’s still impossible. Apparently it’s a app problem with IPhones.

High Interest Rates and Disappointing Experience with Aqua Credit

I have a credit card with Aqua Credit, and I find their interest rate extremely high. What’s frustrating is that even after consistently making my payments on time often paying more than the minimum they still charge interest on the remaining balance. The interest can build up so quickly that, if you don’t clear your balance in full, it could eventually exceed the original credit limit offered.
Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend Aqua Credit. There are better options available, such as Zable or Capital One, which tend to offer fairer rates and clearer terms. I genuinely regret taking credit with Aqua and would advise others to explore alternative lenders.

Aqua has been a very good partner to me!! It done its full checks and made sure it didn’t jump to quickly lend what I couldn’t afford! They are also very fair where pay back is concerned. Actually if I had a bad word to say it would be they were a bit too weary to raise my credit limit considering the length of time I been a customer and never missed or been late with a payment!! However they seem sometimes to do things that there is no real basis for!! I.e. I have always had a 5star rated. And told I would get a special gold/platnum card but after a year or so I called in and told my years of no missed payments are impeccable and the person went off and came bk to say keep it up! In the last 3 months I checked and suddenly my rating has gone to four! Don’t know y or even how as not used card or missed any payments AT ALL!! Funny ay? Anyho, keep a look out and I will inform you when anything changes!!

It’s ok but could do with some improvements

The app displays the wrong card expiry date under view my card details (I think it’s the date for my old card). I raised this bug via chat some while back but the issue is still there. Can be a pain as I don’t travel with my physical card, so need to save it in a password manager.
Not sure why I need to cancel payment by PayIt to be able to pay by card? Having the pay by card option displayed right away is more intuitive.
Please bring a dark mode option.

Easy to use app Except Chat

I find the Aqua app very easy to use and can usually find the information I need. However, under the ‘Contact Us’ option, you are provided with 2 options: ‘Chat’ & ‘Call’ I like to use the Chat facility in other apps as it gives me time to think etc. So I used Aqua, expecting it to be an instant chat facility. But it’s not made clear that Aqua’s facility is not an instant message service. So I was often waiting for the Agent to reply. The good thing is that you can go back into the message at a later date. I was told to set notifications but I couldn’t work out how?

Crashes phone when making payment

I have an iPhone 10 shocker it’s old but I can’t pay my bill as you update the app continuously and every time you fix something you break something els. Now everytime I go to pay or put an amount it crashes my whole phone and I have to restart it. Now your phoning me every 30 mins to tell me I haven’t paid when I can’t because of your stupid app , hire some proper staff to do the coding and interface instead of the interns you seem to be hiring

Review

Set up a payment with Aqua of £183 but they took £320. They put me in financial distress and difficulty. I spoke to them and Aqua told me to do a direct debit indemnity. I did this and they have closed my account.
I complained and still got nowhere. Not impressed. Poor complaints process. Still no outcome and we are eight weeks down the line.
Very disappointed. Asked how long I had been with Aqua and they refused to tell me. I have been with Aqua for over two years and no issues. When I was off sick with an injury from work when I went to save somebody who was critically injured I get treated like this.
My other credit cards have been supportive except Aqua. Still waiting for a response to my complaint.
I have not been given the CEO’s name as requested I would ask them for there option to how I have been treated.
This is why I have given Aqua one star but I would have given zero stars if that was an option.

Im sorry i took out this card, its costing me a fortune, im being charged for being over limit (when interest put on by Aqua put me over) then for being late (i paid on the due date) my payment this month is over £45 that is the min payment, i always thought cc’s were 5% of the balance this is over 10% of mine, and you are hounded via text/mail and alerts from the app until you dance to there tune, sadly once my balance is paid off its gone, I’ve already deactivated my card, not at all what i thought, only thing this card has done for me is push me further into debt as payments are ott

Absolutely shocking

With retailer not providing a service and me submitting more evidence than a person can count they have made the card go over the limit making it extremely difficult to put back in and every month take over £100 in interest. Everyone says they’re great however if you’re booking holidays use Amex or cards which actually care for the people who make the company. Aqua took their side and said that they can’t do anything even though I spent days explaining everything. Once it’s all cleared I’ll close the account and make sure no one I know will use aqua either. The worst credit card company out there.

Trying to contact Aqua

Today I tried to contact Aqua three times regarding a query before paying my bill, but after extreme frustration from the automated phone service was told that due to the large amount of customers also trying, I would have to wait in excess of 45 minutes! This is not acceptable, it is a blatant diversion tactic to not deal with customers, the App is not appropriate I needed to speak with a real person! Have payed my bill in full and will be sending a written complaint and if this is not rectified will be going to the financial ombudsman! A shame on you Aqua!

Avoid at all costs!

This card/company will decimate your credit score for paying it off in full. It will add a £12 charge as and when it feels like, despite you paying on time each month. It will also increase your monthly direct debit without notice and the limit you are set, you will never actually be able to use because by the time they have added on the astronomical interest charges, you will be massively over it (and then charged another £12 for going over the limit!) making the monthly payments totally unaffordable and constantly in debt to them. Zero customer service and you will be plagued with texts/emails/notifications that you MUST pay immediately!! Utter shambles of a service that prey on the most vulnerable. Once I’ve paid them off, I’ll be cutting up the card. Never again.

Do not recomend!!!!

I started with 1500 £ credit limit and in one year they raised the limit to 8000£.
During the pandemic i started to use it more and i reached a balance of 7000£ ,i had payed reguraly without missing any payment dates .only the interest /month was more than 200£ and tgey started to raise the rate every few month from 19% to 44% . I managed to pay almoust everything until my balace reached less than 500£ and 2 months after they diminished the credit limit to 1500£ tellling me in the same day they did that in a email letter that this was in my own intrest .But just asking raisi g the intrest rate from 19% to 44% was as well in my intrest.
I advise you to go with a creditcard from a bank if you do t want to get stuck in perpetual debt using companies like Aqua or Ocean etc ..

Have to keep logging in

Never had this issue with the iPhone but on the iPad I have to log in at least once, sometimes twice a week. I thought it was due to updates originally but it is happening more often now without any available updates. It seems very pointless as there is plenty of security logging in with the iPad (fingerprint etc) and is actually really frustrating when I just want to quickly log in to keep an eye on what is a happening with my account or need to verify a purchase.

Do not go with this credit card they let you build up your credit limit so you spend more and once you have a good enough balance with them they will rise you apr as they have put mine up 5% with no reasons that are Relevant to me I was only using the card to build my credit score and I’m lucky enough to be able to pay off my total bill in one go and stop using the card but this won’t be the situation for most people unfortunately

App obfuscates meaningful dates and amounts

The app has become more and more deceptive. It’s impossible to tell what the minimum payment is, how much you’ve actually paid ‘this period’. Also the actual payment window is somewhere in the region of 10 days rather than 30/31 days in a month. They also arbitrarily increase interest rates by 10% at will, so I’d advise heading to a loan shark; at least you know what you’re getting. Aqua are the real crooks, because you assume it’s reputable. It absolutely is not.
Have a good read of the top App review and ask yourself ‘is that a real UK customer or a paid review(from elsewhere perhaps)’?

A Helping Card

Aqua has helped me to rebuild my credit over the past 12 months, so much so that I was able to secure a car loan. Without Aqua I’d not have been able to do this. So keep up your payments when you use your card and start building up your credit again. The app is also easy to use and you can control payments and check your spending limits. I Have had Endless problems with this set up !

I applied for an Aqua card ages ago ( they did not send mea pin). I applied for a balance transfer (which was what at 0 % I wanted the Aqua card for) and by the time I got them to answer the phone the 60 day limit had expired! What a farce Studio told me that I couldn’t apply for their offer of 0% over 6 months as I had already been offered 1 with another account on New Day!!??? When I finally got it set up in May of this year - I am still undergoing problems! I received a text that said I would need to make a payment of £5 by the 13th June to avoid a late payment charge! I am writing this on the 5th June and I received a call from a supplier of goods to say my payment has been declined by Aqua??? I am unable to do anything about this as it is a Sunday (Bank Holiday)! There is enough money left In credit to pay this supplier so am left feeling that Aqua is a useless credit card to have! What is the point of having a credit card that is constantly declined??I think I will put in a complaint as you do not relate your expertise to me in your reply Jake - I will have to complain, in writing, to get anywhere!

Annoying issue on the app

Although I have no complaints as such there is one thing that is really annoying me with this app. The last two letters put in my in box, I have read them over, and over and over and over again, but every time I come out of the app they automatically go back to being unread messages again. So I get the same message every time I have two important messages in my in box, go into my inbox and it is the last two received, which I have read many times. This has been going on since 20th May and it is now driving me mad. Also why isn’t there a way to delete the letters we have already read? Other than that I don’t have a problem with anything.

The aqua credit card is great i wont lie, its been very useful to have during hard times. However, the last two months i have left at least £5 on my account which i don’t use then i NEVER go over my limit yet i have both times without even using the £5 i had left! Ive been charged £42 (£12 interest and the £30 i apprantly spent going over my limit) but this doesnt show up on my statment anywhere. And then again this month. I’m not happy. Im spending more money to pay it off even though i havnt used the money they claim i am overdrawn by.

Great credit provider!

Got a Aqua card through Experian so was not sure on how the app or customer service would hold up. But, I find the app super easy to use, it uses secure passcode/face ID to get into the app to give added security. It tells me clearly on the home page what my balance is, and what money I have remaining. Most recent payments are listed under that so can clearly see what has gone out, what is pending etc. Payments are really easy to make and will give you multiple options for minimum/boosted/total amount etc. which I find really helpful - and I always choose boosted!
Aqua have also offered me a credit limit increase without me even needing to request it! Was a nice surprise in my inbox. Thanks!

I love my AQUA CARD

I love my Aqua Card since day 1. I received the card and looked soooo beautiful, the design, colour and the app 🤗👌
I love how easy to use is and how clever the app is always explaining me how my credit works!
The suggestions or tips that constantly I get by email are super informative and I even share with my son to help him understand his card and credit too.

Aqua credit card

This company took a chance on my bad history but could see the changes I had made and gave me a credit card, I was so happy! It helped with my credit score and in times of need! After 6 months they increased my limit based on my payments to them!
The app is brilliant accurate and never is they system down.

Best reward card currently

Aqua is best card for getting cashback for each transaction-mine is 0.5% which is best at moment. They improved the app more recently by showing the total amount you had spent on the card including pending transactions which is always an annoying part of any bank or credit card and Aqua didn’t used to include the amounts pending so is much better now they count it as you can keep track of the total amount you have spent on the card-nice improvement Aqua👏👏. The only other thing they could do to improve is pay the cashback you’ve earned monthly, instead of annually but otherwise is best credit card out there.

Credit builder

I’ve had the card for 2 months now , and pay off my balance in full every month to avoid any unnecessary interest. I applied for the card with the sole purpose of building my credit score , and it’s working gradually. The app is really simple to use ; keeps you up to date on your transactions , balance and due date. I have no complaints, and will continue being a customer.

Horrible network

Absolute terrible costumer service folks . Basically a suffer with dyslexia. And a merchant not none to me used my card “clearpay” in a fraud way . A told them a wanted the money back they sent forms out to fill in which a didn’t understand they told me a wouldn’t go back on my account and a didn’t need fill the forms out . But it adjusted straight on my account and toke off my Balance when it had nothing do with me . Stay clear from aqua they are absolute Robbing people . They not bothered about your mental they just wanna rob and hurt you and see you struggle . Stay away please I’m begging any one

Bad first impression

After received my pin and card (which happened relatively smoothly) I activated the card using the app. But it still would not work in-store or online. Phone lines have a long waiting time and even when I got through they didn’t fix the issue and I had to phone back again.
The “chat” option in the app also doesn’t work so can’t communicate from there.
Still on hold waiting. My card has been active since 18/02 and I am still unable to use it 01/03. Not much use in a card that doesn’t work.

Locked pin

I used my card twice on 2nd December. When I tried to use again same day same store my pin was blocked. Either my fault or fault of store payment terminal. Since then since many attempts to unblock pin with Aqua line and ATM I cannot use the card. In one day at 4.15 pm I listened to the most annoying hideous “waiting music” for 35 minutes and gave up and hung up. Very not impressed! Not over card limit. Not good service.

Credit score

This credit card has been so helpful to me. I try and pay above the required minimum payment and timely too.
My credit score has improved drastically. Furthermore, I find the customer services very helpful as I forget me pin all the time and when I need to make a purchase, I could always pay into my card.

It was really good

In many ways - as long as you don’t wish to speak to someone online - it’s still an incredibly handy app. But I’ve found myself in the position where I have a broken phone so can’t actually call anyone, and need to go through the app. I CAN’T go through the app because everything works but the chat. The moment you press to chat online, the app shuts down. Rinse, repeat.
Developers, any chance you could fix this please? It’s been over a month, and that’s the only thing holding me back from giving the app 5 stars.

Incorrectly charged interest & fees

I took out the Aqua card to take advantage of the 0% interest balance transfer offer, which I arranged, as specified, within a few days of account opening, for the maximum amount available to me.
Just over a month later, I was told by the app. that my account was over the agreed borrowing limit and that I’d been charged an over limit fee. This was because I HAD been charged interest on what should have been 0% interest borrowing!
After calling Aqua, I wasn’t given an explanation or result, but was informed that someone would call me back within 5 working days. This did not happen, so I was forced to phone them myself again. On this occasion, they refunded all interest and charges. The only explanation they could offer was that the charges had been made in error.
I’ve had a week of pure stress, the app. having told me the over-limit could affect my credit rating, which I’ve been working hard to improve.
Not recommended!

Thank you, Aqua!!

Absolutely fantastic, nothing but praise for this credit card. The app does everything I need it to do, and whenever I’ve had an issue with my card I’ve called Aqua and spoken to a REAL PERSON without the long wait and a million options to choose from. Would be happy without the cashback, so that is just an added bonus! Have been recommending a lot of people because of my great experience!

Do not use this company

I was successful in an application for a credit card. Aqua sent the card to a previous address I lived at 3 years ago. Which I only found about when I called the customer services team, as the card had not been delivered and I was chasing this up. I was told I would have to have my mail redirected or close down the account and apply again in 6 months.. They could not cancel the card or reissue a new one to the correct address on an unactivated card bearing in mind the card has probably been received at the old address. This is hardly helpful given the current climate. If there was no help given in a situation as a new customer in a matter of urgency as this , left me with no choice but to close my account. Blessing I disguise perhaps.

No Compassion Here During Covid 19

Why doesn’t this organisation not recognise an extraordinary world disaster where people might not get paid on time and salary/furlough payment schedules might not match up with direct debits for once in a while? Why does it block your card in a situation like this? Why does it not recognise a request for use at petrol stations and maybe public transport. Why does it leave you stranded in times of need at times like this. When the interest charged on this facility is sky high why is there a treatment of zero tolerance rather than value for money? Sorry. I’m very disappointed.

Slow, inefficient, frustrating app

A late payment, which is small but irritating, was incurred after repeatedly trying to log in via the App. It’s then locked and even the verification codes sent, directly copy and pasted from the authentication emails, won’t work. When the app is working, it’s fine, but once you have to re-log in, it’s clunky, costly, inefficient to the point of useless. This app is ultimately a waste of time, and online via a proper browser would be much better. Some suspect that it’s deliberately this hard to frustrate payments but I think it’s far more likely that it’s just a very badly designed app.

iPad online app

I have always enjoyed the online managing of my account with ease until a month ago when the app on my iPad ceased working. I have tried downloading the new app but this fails to work and defaults back to the old dark blue app. Don’t know why it’s a problem on the iPad when it works just fine on an iPhone. It’s a shame as it is one of the better credit card apps.

Extra payment

Why can I not have the option to pay the minimum amount on my account? Your unaware of my other financial commitments but are quite happy to almost double my payment to you. Any amendments to the DD takes 6 working days. I should have the option to opt out of this “helpful “ option and pay any extra when I want to. Please fix this. Unhappy customer.

Chasing me whilst I’m in hospital

I have had so many calls and messages from Aqua because I have failed to pay - I was unable to contact them because I am in hospital with a serious illness which i eventually wrote to them about. As a consequence of my illness I lost my job and therefore had no money to pay my bills including my rent. I have had to beg and borrow to pay my arrears today then as they have said that they are going to report me to credit agencies and charge me fees. I hope that they will have the heart not to charge me any fees. Aqua do not give up calling you - sometimes 10-20 times a day. There are people with higher debts than me surely they would be better chasing them and not the underdogs.

Online account manager

Since receiving the aqua card I tried to register for the online account manager but with no success, I have spoke to at least 3/4 of your associates and each and every one of them have been outstanding and very patient, knowledgeable and have helped me enormously, and dealt with the issues, now I am up and running thanks to them, I must say they are a credit to your company and I would like to say a huge thank you

Not totally satisfied

I use my aqua card for all purchases I make during the month and I pay it off before I reach my credit limit. Unfortunately I typically reach my limit before the month is up and although I have a standing order set up with aqua this only comes into play at month end. So, in order to continue using my card I have to manually make a payment which is a real pain.
I have never incurred any interest charges and I have always paid my account off before reaching my limit.
Why therefore am I declined an increase to my credit limit (£1200 to say £1500) which then would see me comfortably through the month. I don’t understand.

Avoid at all costs!

Extortionate interests rates
Contacted them to say I was finding my interest rate crippling and they emailed me saying nothing we can do or are prepared to do about it!
I would have rated zero stars if it was an option.
Also they send you a statement with a recommended payment for the month,an option for a boosted payment and you have to look hard to find your actual contractual minimum monthly payment amount, if you use the App and click on the ‘pay’ button it only lists boosted and recommended payments at the top, you need to scroll down to find the minimum payment . This would be terribly confusing for someone paying their bill in a hurry and you could easily end up paying the ‘recommended’ amount by mistake , resulting in you inadvertently paying way too much

Some good, some bad

I’ve found the Aqua card useful for rebuilding my credit score, and the app is easy to use. However I would like it a lot more if I could use it for Apple Pay, and if they offered a contactless card. I also had a problem when I paid my bill the day I was notified of it, only to find that I had paid it too early and was going to be penalised because it hadn’t registered as that month’s payment (even though I pay my balance in full every month). Apart from that I have no issues with it! To be fair, when I’ve had to call customer services they’ve been great.

Easy peasy

I was always scared of having a credit card as I thought I would lose control but credit where credit is due(no pun intended) , this aqua card let’s me know constantly what I have left , when I have to pay and what I have to pay . It’s so transparent it’s excellent . So clear no mumbo jumbo , in black and white - that’s what I think many people need.
You can’t get caught out and fall into debt (unless your unwilling to help yourself) it’s excellent really . It’s bailed me out a few times and I love it .

The app so flexible easy to use it makes payments so easy at the touch of a button and I think this is the right card for me. Fantastic Customer Services bend over backwards it’s really a superb card the way you can keep a track of your spending sort out direct debit as a safeguard and transfer well done Aqua !!!!!

Awful app - website and app is down

Don’t think I’ve once opened this app without there being an error message pop up or it being buggy. The app doesn’t remember your card details to pay off balances, payments don’t always get accepted although I’ve previously seen money taken out my account after it saying it was unsuccessful, and currently, the app and website are both down so I cannot pay anything off - convenient for you, Aqua?
If you’re trying to build credit score up, I would NOT recommend this. Have a scroll through all the other reviews and take that as a sign that you should not get a credit card with Aqua.

Payment problems

This morning I tried to pay my aqua card within the app using my debit card. I got a message that the “transaction was unsuccessful” there was a “system error”. Was told “try the payment again later”. When I checked with my bank the payment had gone through. I’m glad I didn’t try the transaction again. The app is very misleading. Would be easy to get caught out.

Latest update...

... had made it incredibly unstable. It was great before, login was good and felt safe but now it flashes and blinks and comes up with errors and suddenly you’re in but in the transactions area not landing page. Sort it out! Was really reliable before.
Also, the ability to save payment card would save putting details in time and again.
