Things that could improve the app

- should be able to type in key words
- the design of the app is dull
- be able to listen to it as an audio and video too
- combine para pass , add more exercises so people can learn eg fun games

Useless app

Absolutely useless; have had an active subscription since November of last year yet when I try and access the app I get faced with a screen saying I don’t have an active subscription yet when I click on purchase subscription it states I already have one so I’m stuck on the login page

Query

Hi! I’ve heard great reviews but I’m confused with which membership I need, what is the difference between the £2.99 and the £29.99?

Annoying to use

The app is good, with all the relevant information easy to access and search for. The offline feature is essential, and its good to know that the information on the app is always the most up to date.
However whenever I need to read the tables I constantly have to scroll left and right across the page as they’re not optimised for the screen size. Can you alter the tables so only up/down scrolling is needed to read more information?
I am using the most updated version of the app on an IPhone X with the most recent software update.
Thanks

It’s an alright app!

I’ve downloaded this app a little while back and i was alright with it at first. But I tend to have trouble finding particular things on the app itself which others are finding, such as as a Peak flow graph, in their JRCALC pocket books. So I was wondering, how would you unsubscribe from the app to prevent renewal so I can buy the pocket book instead?

Invaluable

As a paramedic following the JRCALC guidelines is an absolute must and in this day and age, the app format is the only way to go. Updated frequently means you are not working to last years best practice. Easy and simple to use where you can find anything with a quick search or saving your favourite pages ready to be opened from the home screen.

Needs a tweak

Every time I launch this app, I get the “subscription purchased” pop up which doesn’t let me interact with the interface for a good 5 seconds. This information is irrelevant to me, as I would only need notifying if the subscription needed renewing. Aside from this annoyance, the app is very handy.

Great resource for any Ambulance clinician

The ambulance service I work for provided me with both the pocket book & full guidelines. But the pocket book is still quite bulky & I tend to keep it in my kit bag. Not ideal when needed in a hurry when on an RRV especially.
So I know this cost £1.99 a month (or £19.99 a year) but I think it's money well spent for the convenience of having it on my phone. Also automatically getting any updates is a bonus, you don't get that with a book. I spend more money on things less useful so I am very happy with this app.
The app itself is very easy to use. Well done & thanks iCPG form a grateful paramedic.

Rip off

Just spent over £50 on these peoples books and so was quite surprised to see the cost of it on mobile, perhaps a one time use code in your books could be used as a log in instead of charging people again for the same stuff.

Worth trying

I recently downloaded this app and so far I am very happy with it. I find the app easy to use and less fumbly than the paper copy. I like the fact that the app creates a log which you can email yourself.
It works well will the iPhone 6 plus and iPad mini. I can't think of any negatives.

Expensive

Not a criticism of the app as such because I haven't been able to use it. There is nothing to say that a paid subscription to use this until you've downloaded the app, registered an account and then loaded in your activation code. App summary does say there is a charge but it's tucked away under In App purchases and how many of us read those bits?
Now have an account I won't be using.

Better than the pocket book

At first glance, the app looks a little clunky. Try to use it, though, and it suddenly feels very sensible. Contraindications and paediatric doses for drugs can be called up very quickly and very easily -- this is probably my number one reason for using the app (or pocket book).
iCPG provides access to full guidelines though these are less easy to read on an iPhone but just about OK on an iPad.
This app can replace my pocket book and, for that reason, I'm happy to pay the price. I'd still like to have a copy of the ebook or paper book to look through the full guidelines occasionally.
Ex-beta testers may have had problems using their accounts offline but these problems have now been resolved and the app works with or without a data connection.

Works offline once you subscribe.

Great new app for the JRCALC guidelines. It works offline once you subscribe.

Doesn't work with no signal

App is OK to use, but if you're in a village in the middle of nowhere with no mobile data signal then it can't authenticate your subscription with the iTunes Store so the app is as useful as a brick. Needs to be fixed for the next update, otherwise I'll be asking for my money back.

Ok. Could be better.

A long awaited JRCALC app is a welcome sight, but as the majority of people refer to the book as "JRCALC" it's odd to see this named iCPG. Surely naming it JRCALC iCPG would suit it better.
Firstly when I open the app, it shows me my account page rather than the dashboard. The dashboard is messy. My JRCALC is used to either look up drugs, or page for age. Having guidelines as the focal point of the dashboard seems odd. The scrolling sections should be for drugs and ages. Also the drugs section wouldn't be used for the top 10 used drugs, it would be used for those drugs that are rarely used. Also the page for age link can be seen twice on there, not including the navigation bar at the bottom. Tapping search lists everything for some reason. I don't see myself using the dashboard at all in its current state.
The drugs section, you can't hide the contraindications section without the doubled up section opening further down. The dosage tables are set up that if I want to look at a young age, I need to remember exactly what row I need to be looking at for repeat doses etc.
Algorithms are ok, but all quite short and sweet. Not sure how often I'd use these. Page for age again suffers with the same issue with tables as mentioned above. Lastly, I'm not sure if this is because I was part of the beta, but I see the guideline numbers on everything.
Overall, this app has been rushed and shouldn't have left beta testing as early as it did. It's not currently worth the money that a subscription costs until the problems have been fixed and the app tidied up in general. A solution needs to be found for the tables on the pages, as well as the dashboard getting an overhaul. However, in it's defence, an app is a lot easier to carry round than the book.
