Four stars cos please add heart Christmas (uk) to your radio list. Nice to find an app that doesnt try to charge you 9.99 a week before you even get to press a button. Work well, no problems so far, a lot of customisability, all while retaining simplicity.

Rather unfriendly and incorrect trial details and duration (3 days blurs the lines between application for payment and errrm trialing the software) - doesn’t work with with Amazon Music, and “No cancellation is allowed during an active subscription period” is an agreement I’d rather not accept.

Glitch right after subscribed
Playing two songs only no matter what song i tap it plays only two songs while iTunes plays them all. Songs are on my iTunes playlist. I have no time to investigate feather. I asked time on this app just to have equaliser!

Great app get the sound the way I like it
This is a great app, you can manipulate the music perfectly to how you like it, you might find one downside and that is you have to own the music ie actual purchase every album or song , it won’t work if you just use apple music as you don’t own the music your listening to. I hope this helps enjoy

Crashing and Unresponsive
I have been using this app for the past 2 years, have paid each time for a 12 month subscription. I have to say it is nice to customise the way you listen to music and it does provide a nice boost, however it’s had the same problems during this time, which have never changed. The first issue is the crashing once you finish playing a full album and reach the end of it, you have to restart the app and sometimes you have to refresh it a few times before it works again. The second issue is it becoming unresponsive randomly when launching it, this requires me to have to refresh/reset it 2 - 3 times which can be very annoying especially when you’re out of the street. I would hope one day this is patched, especially since it’s a subscription based application.

Not worth it on iPhone
What I hate about this app is that compared to the one on macOS, it’s a complete waste of money. Only works with songs actually on your phone that are not DRM encrypted, and it’s just a failure on so many levels. Which I hadn’t bought it now.

Brilliant for the MacBook and….….. it was brilliant on my iPhone until I wrote a review that said I had no problems with subscription pop ups and then I started getting subscription pop ups haha - anyway it’s still a good app but I don’t use any streaming platforms just my iTunes library. £8 a year or £20 lifetime aren’t too bad for the improvement this gives my music.

Genuinely an incredible app
I had actually forgotten I installed this on my phone and bought the lifetime membership but since I last used the UI has become significantly more sleek and there are a plethora of new incredible features, changing the pitch and speed of the song, adding reverb and the extensive Equaliser are all incredible, unfortunately the app doesn't use spotify anymore but if you have music on itunes I would really recommend this app, it's truly such a fun and interesting way to listen to your favourite tracks!

Great app, need more streaming apps
I have this app on both my MacBook and iPhone and it really does a great job of boosting the sound quality on both. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that it really needs music streaming apps added as sources eg Deezer and Spotify

Great app Unfortunately when using it in on desktop it’s great because you can use it on any sound! Unfortunately when using it on mobile you can only use it if you have specific music applications like Apple Music etc or using boom music or radio unfortunately if your like me and don’t use any of them you use the app Musi to listen to your music you can’t use things like this :(

Interesting App
I have moderate hearing loss (high freq).
Boom is great with the EQ on podcasts.
I am deleting the app for now so that I can find out why I am not able to play BBC Radio stations, though I can see and select them.
It plays Capital radio instead.

Great, but not working now.
I love this app but not used it in a while and recently when I press play on anything in Boom I have no audio out dispute checking all my connections and devices but it doesn’t play through my headphones however other media can do so fine.
Besides, this app used to give me cinema/theatre 360 surround experiences without the big price tag!

Speechless and dumbfounded!!
If it was possible to leave no star, that will have been my option.
Nonetheless a great app after passing through the demo songs, I was immediately convinced this is what I needed.
The app left me scratching my head just when it is about to launch the freshly, first time downloaded app, I was greeted with “Free Trial Expired!! You have finished your 3 day fee trial!!! What?!!! Not even the 7!!! I just downloaded the app with AppStore still indicating on the top left corner of my screen!
Then I found out songs bought from Apple Music was useless! But it has CarPlay that don’t work either because of DRM!
Are the developers hoping one day Apple will switch off the DRM?
Should be clear with these things from the beginning rather than being ambiguous with the bells and whistles of the the app.

Total con/scam Shouldn’t be allow on the App Store.
This app does NOT work with Apple Music and it is not made clear at all.
They get you to sign up to a subscription with a great offer of a life time subscription with no refund. You then find out after it doesn’t work with Apple Music. That’s outside of their control but they should make this clearer.
This makes it a total con. It’s a shame as the Mac OS app is amazing and oddly works with Apple Music. I’m so annoyed. Make it very clear on the description this does not work with Apple Music.

Tidal - Low numbers of available tracks
A great app for those tracks that I can see but I’ve no idea how it’s determining which tracks from my Tidal Hi-Fi+ account to integrate into the Boom app. Loads of my Tidal playlists are missing and there’s no clear correlation between those that are visible and those that aren’t. And yes I’ve been through all the FAQs about the types of files that it won’t play. This could be a great app but it just appears very limited in what it’ll play.

Crossfade and offline listening unavailable
Crossfade does not work, even I switched on the function on settings and set crossfade to 6 secs. Also, cannot play music while offline, ie on London Underground, even on dowloaded music such as Likes and downloaded playlists on Spotify. Bass effects are great though.

Purchased app but subscription needed !!!
Purchased this app and now they want me to pay a subscription to use the full version of the app, I understand the extra costs in development and would gladly pay a reasonable price to add the new features but everything is subscription subscription subscription which I am not willing to pay.
I have purchased the windows version of Boom for my laptop which I am pleased with.
I have purchased many apps in the past which have had many features added at no extra cost to me as an existing customer for example Infuse Pro a video player and streaming app I purchased in 2016, they have added loads of features like streaming, I can access media on my nas system anywhere in the world which was not available when I purchased the app, they are constantly adding features and I receive regular emails where they say as an existing customer I will get access to all new features at no extra cost.

Ive had Boom for macbook for years as an equaliser and it is worth the money.
I bought Boom as an app for my iphone but as a Tidal user it has been very buggy for a while, but I can confirm since this most recent update, the songs are playing to the end and not cutting off and it only takes a few seconds for the next song to play unlike before.
Pleaseeee keep on top of this, this app is brilliant if you’re an audiophile or even if you just want to improve the crap presets on devices that leave your music sounding tinny and empty or without depth, this app will bring your music to life.
Well done on fixing the bugs for Tidal users.

after researching EQs for ios & streaming music service, I downloaded BOOM ... to my disappointment every few songs it randomly skips forward during playback to the next track, very frustrating & is a deal crusher for me after the 7 day trial is up, unless they can fix this bug... Don’t buy this – it’s disastrous.
I have never downloaded an app as bad as this before. And I paid for the pleasure. It worked ok for about a week, then it just created so many problems. Both on my phone and laptop I’m still trying to get rid of Boom files because they have overridden sound settings on both devices. Can’t use headphones of any other sound outputs, Boom tries to override everything. Now months later and still finding files that create new problems. An absolute disaster, please avoid at all costs, especially the very high ticket price.

Won't play tracks after Apple Music tracks
Currently trying with the developer - and it's taking a long time from emailing to getting responses - to actually be able to use this app.
The problem is two-fold:
1. Apple Music tracks downloaded to my phone in the Music app sometimes play with sound in Boom and sometimes don't. They ARE playing through, there's just no sound.
2. When an Apple Music track is in a playlist - be it all Apple Music tracks or mixed with purchases - when the Apple Music track ends, Boom does not move to the next track.
All music I want to play from Apple Music has been downloaded to my iPhone but Boom shows an icon for it as a cloud track when it isn't.
As things stand, Boom will only play tracks from Apple Music as standalones. It will not move to the next track in the queue. It just stops, making it useless to me.
Boom will only work to move from one track to the next in a playlist if the playlist is entirely made up of purchased tracks.
I made a lifetime purchase of this app and it refuses to work with my downloaded music. I understand the restrictions on EQ and other effects in Boom when it comes to Apple Music but not being able to move from one Apple Music track to the next? That's not acceptable.
If I can't get Boom to even play my playlists unless they're made up entirely of purchased music, then I deserve a refund. I really hope the devs can fix this though as my preference would be to support the app and be able to enjoy it.

The only subscription app I have
I really don’t like subscription apps, but this is only a small price for a decent standard app. Great sound. I have tried a few player apps and this really is the best that I know of. I can even play my own compositions that are in my Dropbox, double win.

Over priced, fiddly and limited
It would be ok as a one off purchase, but the subscription model means this is way over priced once you get past the first year.
What I really wanted was a system wide eq, but this isn’t possible due to the limitations of iOS.
I mainly used it with Tidal which mostly worked, although it’s a much worse experience than using the Tidal app directly. The 3D stuff is mainly a gimmick, it just messes up the sound in most cases, though it can sound surprisingly nice on some material. Generally to be avoided though.
The eq is weirdly annoying to work with being difficult to draw in precise corrections.
Overall, hard to recommend due to the pricing model, limitations, bugs and gimmicks, I won’t be renewing. But if you really need to eq Tidal or non streaming Apple Music, it does offer an option I’ve not seen elsewhere.

Nowhere as good as boom for Mac
I got boom for Mac and was impressed by the spectacular improvement in sound quality. I can’t say the same for the iPhone iPad version; sound improvement is not really perceptible and the media player has a very poor, clunky and time consuming interface. So I cancelled the trial subscription. Hope you can improve things in the future.

Not only does this app confuse me, but the positive reviews about “making music sound better” do too. All this app does is make your music sound as though you’re listening to some mediocre speakers from too far away. The reason I’m not giving it a 5 star rating is because it has no ‘random shuffle’ setting which I really like on a music player.

As written it does its job quite well, very good eq and boost capabilities. However there are loooots of bugs that bothers me every day, for example, track length bar shows total nonsenses (shows that a song is going to finish but in reality half of the song is left); recently played song list is also random (some of the tracks are added and some are missing); also UI could be a little more efficient but it is OK at the moment.

I’ve been looking for an app like this for ages. The EQ is excellent and the effects are amazing.
The best thing I like about it is that it’s personal EQ can be saved and used in the future. 100% very well built app

Boom
This app is just excellent, does what it says on the tin, easy to use but more. The best performance from all my headphones. I would like a speaker output too, if possible? Not used streaming yet but just paid, confident I can expect same outstanding effects.

Bug prevented use of boom
My app recently had a bug that locked me out of using the boom features. It didn't allow me to restore purchase I had for the last couple of years until an update that seemed to have fixed the issue.
Not if this will happen again but if it does in not going to be happy!

Honest review GOOD!
I’ve seen lots of apps like this before that say they improved sound quality but they dont. Then I listened to my music through BOOM and I was shocked! It actually works and not just on headphones but my speakers on my phone and my Bluetooth speaker! I am so happy with this that I now pay monthly for this. If you want a app that truelly improves sound quality on lots of different things then download BOOM!

No other apps come close!
I searched and searched and just happened across this app. Although the MacBook Pro has very good sound, this was just what I was looking for. I’m still a raver at heart and like my music loud. This works wonders for both quality and volume. It has loads of choices and has an easy to use and very attractive interface, the icing on the cake was the 3D. It is amazing!!! Definitely worth the price and I will be a long time customer! 5 stars!!!

Streaming Integration Issues
Mostly good, adding songs to playlists often results in crashes however. The layout is also less user friendly than Spotify’s, for example searching gives results without having to click enter, with top results listed first, as opposed to playlists being shown first.

Quick easy presets
This app’s strength is that you can apply effects quickly, at the touch of a button, and bit does a good job.
For fine grained control you can manually bring up an equaliser and create your own presets.
It’s designed to work with headphones and overall does a good job.
It’s weakness is the UI - touch elements are very small, making one handed use very difficult. Even on iPad adjusting the volume often slides the entire page left or right due to the way it’s designed.
It could benefit from copying the design of Apple’s Music app.
However overall a very good little app that provides great presets out of the box.

Actually a dope app
When I first got this I was looking for a bass booster turns out this isn’t what I was looking for the bass booster isn’t that good but the app is generally amazing and it makes your music sound so much better would 100% recommend to people who frequently listen to music as this is cheap too (atm)

Bit of a con really
On headphones it's alright but just slight 3D with reverb from what I heard.
Don't fall for the before and after rubbish either. Tried with B&O system, the before is set to deliberately sound bad. After was ok but lacked mid clarity. Honestly setting your equaliser gets better results. 6 other people tried after me and found the same.
The player was slow and glitchy and can't play drm music.
Honestly I wouldn't take this app for free never mind pay an ongoing subscription.

Was using paid version of this app for sometime, it is good. The recent update has support for streaming service. I don’t opt for it, still they started pushing ads even for the earlier subscription- annoying!!! Shouldn’t they leave me without ad for my existing subscription, if I’m not using streaming service?

Boom audio should be the new standard
I have boom on all my apple devices, and don’t know what I would do without it.
The different EQ settings and boosts really bring out the sound of different songs, and even listening on shuffle it’s so simple to switch EQs or leave it on auto to get the best sound.
Even cheap headphones sound quality - I got some tinny £3 ones for a train trip and with boom sounded like my £80 SkullCandy over-ears.
Definitely worth the £10 a year subscription. Less than £1 a month!

Rip off
I bought this app several months ago and i’ve been using it daily since trying out several similar apps, in my opinion this was the best of the bunch. A few days ago this app was updated and now I find that I have to pay to continue using it to its full potential (something I had already been doing previously). I was quite happy with this app before the update, but now it’s going to cost me to continue using it, i’d better start looking for another one instead from a developer who isn’t going to charge me twice.
Reply to Developer Response: But I can’t continue using it as before. The last time I opened the app, all of my applied effects and settings switched off and when I tried to switch them back on a popup message saying that I could only turn them back on if I subscribe. Problem is, my music sounds awful with none of the effects applied and I don’t see why I should have to pay again for something i’ve already paid for.

Everything I want
This is really fantastic! Works very slick. Can get sound exactly way you want it. Massively improves sound! Crossover is great for parties and running. Sleep timer. Easy to use and fully flexible. Very well put together and thought out. My favourite app ever as music lover.

Great
Great on headphones, the app is a little bit slow at bringing up the album art. To be honest I’ve gone back to the Apple app for music now as I feel it’s less hassle and works faster and smoother. Plus I was using on my Mac and it completely blew one of my speakers. They even had the nerve to write to me after I left my review saying what happened and said that it was probably a hard ware issue. I would advise strongly about buying this for the Mac as it can put the sound up to a level which the hardware can’t handle and you could live to regret your choice. The software on Apples are perfectly aligned for their hardware, Apple know what they’re doing. It is great on headphones on the Mac though having said all that.

4 months to answer?
Boom took more than 4 months just to tell me that "Boom" doesn't work with DRM tracks and apple doesn't allow them to be used either.
My current question is....why boom didn't tell me 6 months ago not to pay extra because I won't be able to use my tracks using boom. Such a disgrace!!!! Apple "app store" team should have a look at this. I want my money back from boom team for selling me upgrade with miss-information.
PS: I am not even an "apple music" subscriber. I buy my songs and download them in my phone to listen in my iPhone.

Enormous potential
This is first EQ app I've used that made my iTunes music sound better without a lot of intricate tweaking.
It still needed tweaking to get the best out of it, however, and I think the straight EQ adjustment is more impressive to my ears than the "3D" modelling.
It shares the inability of all third party apps to process Apple Music tracks, but I like that in this case the cued tracks get smoothly passed to the iTunes app to play in the backround rather than just getting stalled or skipped.
My biggest gripe in an app that is supposed to function as an integrated music player, is the lack of Album Artist sorting. This needs fixing before I will use this as my regular player or give it 5*.

Simply better than basic music player
Tried the free trial and compared using a few tracks. The improvement whilst using decent on-ear headphones was enough to make me conclude that there was no point to buying good headphones unless you are using a player like this, and for me to upgrade to the full version after about half an hour of testing.
Big fan so far.

Best music player for ios
This app is a big step up from the apple music player in ios, audio quality is excellent. Does not work with DRM content, but if you are listening to music at streaming bit rates, this app would be a waste of money anyway.
Artwork is slow to load, other than that, can’t really knock it.

Useless with Apple streaming services
You can’t apply it to DRM protected music which is pretty much everything on Apple Music streaming service. So you can only apply it to stuff you’ve ripped from a disc or actually bought on iTunes. To conserve as much space however I choose to only stream from Apple. Fortunately I didn’t have to pay to find this out. Boom is superb on my MacBook pro though. It’s a shame coz I had high hopes for it. :(

Amazing sound
This little app is simply amazing. I have had this app on my main desktop app for a while now at almost 2 years and was so pleased with the sound especially the new 3 d boom . When my daughter gave me an iPad, the sound was so so acceptable but when I installed boom on my iPad , complete transformation of sound with and without earphones . Thanks Boom Team.
