Description

This widget solves the problem all Sonos users have: to control a list of all your S1 and S2 zones from your notification screen without the need to unlock your iPhone or launch the Sonos app.
SonoControls gives you Sonos volume and track controls for ALL your zones, as a widget on your Today Notification screen. This widget is accessible on your WiFi network, even when your Sonos is not playing! Great to come home and start your music, without the need to unlock your iPhone or launch the Sonos app.

• Control all your Sonos speakers from the Today Notification screen
• Volume up, down, mute, play, pause, next, previous track
• Works great together with the official Sonos app! It adds a handy widget to your Today screen, even when your iPhone is locked
• Support for both S1 and S2, all in the same app
• Need to switch playlists? Simply tap the track/artist name text to start the official Sonos app (when installed)
• SonoControls is an independent and unofficial app, and is not affiliated with Sonos in any way.
• Clean layout with nicely sized controls and album artwork
• Works with both a single or multiple controllers, grouped and paired
• Show or hide speakers. Pick the speakers you'd like to see in your widget, and change the order of your speakers
• Show grouped speakers as a group, or as individual speakers
• The widget scales size to fit on the screen, but you can also pick your favourite size manually
• Set the volume precision to your taste, and limit the maximum volume to protect your ears
• Designed and built by somebody who uses his own Sonos system daily!
• No configuration needed, the app finds your Sonos system automatically. If you group or ungroup controllers with the Sonos app, just use the refresh button in the SonoControls app to see the new grouping
• Works for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
• Some Sonos network configurations do need manual IP address configuration, which is quite easily done in the App, tab settings.

What's New in Version 2.1

• S1 and S2 speakers are displayed together in one app, in one list. SonoControls finds them all!
• The volume level number uses a bit larger font size in the widget. Thanks for the suggestion GzrD (UK app review).
• Widget size "small" now also displays room name in the label, just like size "medium". Thanks for the suggestion Matt (via email).
• Widget size "medium" is a fraction smaller so 4 speakers also fit on a 4.7 inch screen widget (iPhone 6/7/8/new SE)
• A few bugs have been fixed.

No working

I’ve followed the instructions on trying to add this to the today screen. I scroll down then across to get to the today screen, I’m unable to add the controls as I don’t get an edit option. If I go to the today screen normally I get the choice to edit it. Please refund my money.

Great app and simple

This app does exactly what it suggests. Very simple to use and a lot easier than opening Sonos and using their stupid sliding volume bars.

Does what it says but doesn’t offer an actual IOS 14 widget only a today vie widget

It’s okay and works (get ** for that) but needs more customisation like removing the annoying “nothing playing banner”. The interface needs more polishing as well. The widget sizing isn’t very good and in non-expanded mode the text is chopped. This only uses the old Today Widget which means it can’t be added to any screen and a bit more inconvenient. Other apps seem to point this out a bit more clearly. I won’t be asking for a refund because it works and I suspect the dev will keep updating the app.
Overall a three star app l, losing two stars due to the widget type it offers and the interface/sizing issues.

Not working on ios14

Followed all of your instructions as far as possible but the app widget is not visible to add and so therefore does not work. Refund, further instructions please.

Doesn’t work in iOS 14

Just downloaded this app but it does not seem to work on iOS 14. Shame was really looking for a solution to the Lock Screen issue. Would avoid if you have a newer iPhone as it seems like a waste of £3 to be honest!

Apr2019ver great app couple of bugs

This app is great and solves some of the new problems with the sonos app. The newest update has gone a long way to rid some bugs but there is one which still remains...
When playing radio (tune in radio) through sonos native app the SonoControls widget shows null for name and no artwork. Until weirdly you stop playing and then it shows.
Thank you and hope you can squash the last few bugs
The radio bug is still present... brings up “bbc_6music.m3u8 - (null)” and no art work. Until you stop the radio feed and then the artwork shows correctly.

There’re a couple of Beam features needed

Namely night mode and voice enhancement, which are useful to turn on and off depending on the content being viewed but are buried in the room settings of the official app. Access via this widget would be great!

Great widget

Loads quickly and works quickly which is exactly what I was looking for.
Good amount of configuration options and very helpful support from the developer (I contacted them via Facebook and got a response within 24hrs, on a Sunday no less, thankyou!)

Not worth the money

This app is totally not worth the £2.99 they charge. I thought I would be able to select different music for each speaker on the app but to be honest it's just a volume control. Not impressed at all.

Very disapointed

It's a very basic widget that offers nothing more than other 3rd party Sonos controllers. No control over groups. Sonos speakers are great but as yet no one makes a good app to control them.

Completes the Sonos App

This really should be part of the native Sonos app, but since it isn't, this works really well as a replacement. Allows quick access to the main controls from any app or the lock screen.

Broken

Previous versions worked ok - I just found that you had to switch to Notifications page and back again to Today page to get the widget to load up. However, latest version started to load up data and then crashed and now shows blank panel with Unable to Load message

Worth the money

Great app. Control Sonos from ANY app without having to exit. Great if your making a phone call, fb, whatsapp etc.

Works brilliantly

Adds really great, robust Sonos controls to the notification tray. It looks great, it's fast, and it works perfectly.
One minor change I'd make is being able to tap the album art to open the Sonos app rather than the track name, which can be quite small and difficult to press.
Some kind of Workflow/IFTTT integration would be nice too, if it's possible. Starting Sonos when I get home, or playing a specific playlist when other conditions are met perhaps?

It Works!

It works really well, saves unlocking the phone, finding the app, and then waiting for the app to load. Gives the simple functions like change track and volume 👍

This is a terrible app. I have 6 Sonos components and this seemed like a good idea. It does not work.
It takes too long to update
The controls are poor
The controls do little
The controls often do not work
It has made a speaker cut out when grouped
Etc
I absolutely want a refund.
I have never previously complained about any app
