Why won’t Ampify develop this great app?
BlocsWave could be the king of sampling on IOS. It needs fine control over editing start and end points of samples, double the blocs, and AU3 effects available on a per sample basis. I would happily pay a premium - one time - price for such functionality. Sadly, even though they keep saying they’d like to improve the app, nothing happens.

It’s just great
Don’t know where I would be without it. You jam a session, drop it into Blocs Wave - find the good audio clips you like instantly... then have fun slicing and rearranging them just as quickly.
If you like playing with audio clips it’s an absolute must have.

Blocs Wave
This has overtaken Novations rather superb Launchpad app as my number one favourite music creation tool. The new update has given Blocs Wave even more reason why you should stop reading my rather boring review and just buy it instead.

Well worth your precious attention span
I have been using this for a few years. Blocswave is easy to use, sounds good, best of all its got some nice intuitive features which breath life and expression into the music, with the IAP it becomes really useful. quick easy and fun. i have a lot of music apps, normally run two or three at the same time and Blocswave seems to feature in most songs. its pretty the best thing you can get on the iPad for what it does, very pleased.

Great app - could be improved
The app has the ability to export projects to Ableton LIve . Can we also have the app export to logic now that we have live loops feature in the latest version of logic.
I did try using the project expert however the sounds and columns were all misaligned.

Missed Opportunity!
It would be really great if I could set and move my own slices, instead of having a lame, static grid that I can only slide left/right. Or, even an option to automatically detect the transients of the sample. Then, I could play all the transients, instead of a random selection.
It would also be amazing to have Blocs Wave as an AUv3 that I could use within AUM or a DAW.
Basically, turn this into Serato Sample for iOS. I would pay lots of £s for the app I described above. And I’m sure I’m not alone.

Background app activity problem
Since feb 2020 this app has been draining my iPad Pro battery using 70% in background activity
Have had to delete app :(

Quite worrying
I have had this app on my IPad Pro for some time. I am quite alarmed about how much of the battery this uses even when the app is not launched. My iPad was lasting less than 24 hours on a full charge. I checked the battery app and it said blocks had used 98% battery life in the last 24 hrs. I genuinely can’t figure out why an app would use this amount of battery when not active. (Even with all apps closed).

Very cool...
Great little app for getting ideas down and sampling little grooves. Ignore the haters, you can copy/paste grooves and beats etc over each other to build them up.
Plays well with AudioBus 3 and can send loops/projects straight into Beatmaker 3 too.
Fab little tool with a very impressive sound library.

Can get some nice grooves
I like using blocs wave to sketch out some ideas and then sometimes export to launchpad to do a fuller mix. I am not a serious musician as such more of a djing background in dance music which blocs wave suits my needs well. As for my previous review saying they were charging me for the slicer....that was my mistake! I think I was signed out of my Apple ID or something. All good now.

Even more Disappointed
I really want to use blocks as a progression from launchpad the new feature of exporting projects into launchpad is welcome....BUT IT DOESN'T WORK! Launchpad crashes when you try and open blocks project from within Launchpad but I still don't understand why developers can't understand my gripe. Why can't I play a sample by pressing on it and then press again to stop it. WHY? This issue persists when auditioning samples within a the oval sample containing blocks. Developers please understand the lack of this feature is what makes blocks unintuitive. It appears an easy fix; please allow the pressing of samples to initiate play and stop. I Prefer the timbral sound of blocks to launchpad and I would like to use it but when I try and set up a groove when I'm initially trying find the groove from samples I have selected (the most important organic part of song creation) please fix this. Personally I don't think developers can say they have given blocks a chance. Please enable stop/play on samples and release the potential in blocks

Superb
I’ve used fairlight and Akai s900s and everything since.
I even had the first emu sampler keyboards, but nothing is as musical as this. This is #%*#ing awesome. Every sample from my new album has been imported in and sorted in Blocs ,in one way or another. It’s not a stupid over complicated app like so many, it’s a bread and butter work tool. Rock solid and reliable.
I wouldn’t know what to replace it with. I hope I never have to.

Still no MIDI support
Lots of potential for this app when it came out, but it’s never been realised. Developers seem focussed on other apps or adding more sound packs. Desperately needs:
MIDI support - even Novation’s own keyboards aren’t supported.
Slice position editing - no idea why this is fixed, when similar apps allow slice points to be moved.
User file management - it’s just a mess at the moment.
This app could be phenomenal if it was properly supported.

Can't listen to more than one sample!
This app is appalling for any music producer, song writer, or composer. You can't listen to more than any one sample to be able to compose tracks! Don't even bother downloading it. Complete waste of time. I'm going to delete it from my device. Very poor indeed. Also keeps crashing whenever I try to export any project files!!!! Really bloody useless! Can't export any project files via email, or iCloud drive! There is no point to this app at all!!!! The developers NEED to fix ALL of the bugs in this app BEFORE they release it, otherwise it is obtaining your money by deception.

Afraid to update
I use launchpad and blocs as a central part of my studio.
When they work they are amazing apps, but the updates seem to be about selling you features that are not required.
All you need on launchpad and blocs is the import feature and that's it.
The an update to launchpad in Dec stoped the import feature for a week.
Week of productivity lost, for what reason, so you can make it look funky.
Have you seen a real launchpad it's not funky, but it works.
Your iOS app is meant to replicate this device, so why make it look different and kill productivity for a week because you introduced a bug.
If your app was 100% free it be ok, but as you require buying import feature, unstable updates offering features not required is not acceptable.
Now the latest update to blocs offering me an EQ, this is not required, will this update stop launchpad from working?
Not worth the risk of updates. Please only update security issues, not just features created for profit and unwanted visual tweaks making the VR products more removed from there origins.

The Best By Far v2
These apps are the best out there by far, incredible sounds and integration with all other apps. I'm using on iPad Pro into Logic Pro X and I just can't believe what I'm hearing. 100% 🎸☠️😎🎤
So far Blocs Wave is the coolest best Real-time Loop based integration I’ve ever saw...Inspiration is flowing every time I use.
Audiobus 3 I recon is a must for app integration also, I have numerous synth and keyboard apps. rock on Blocs Wave

Turns the tone deaf into music makers
Awesome software. I have no musical ability. I can’t sing. Can’t play more than three chords on the guitar. Have no sense of rhythm. So thank god for apps like this. I love it. Deceptively clever, especially if you get the Edit and Import function s too, which enables you to create original loops. This and Launchpad are two of my favourite apps ever. Hugely impressive.

Fun app - enjoying it - few feature requests
Cool app for making grooves and ideas. My comments:
Export: Every time I export to Ableton live the app freaks-out during save - Dropbox save doesn't seem to work and if I save to an email attachment the app does do this but also crashes at the same time. Needs a bit of a fix.
The packs are great - please show the original tempo of the loops / pack in the app - it's impossible to find out original tempo of loops after purchase (they only show in the pack store!)
Please credit the creator(s) of each pack 👍
Finally - add a quantised random slice mode in Slicer for auto-fills and other cool stuff

I understand the concept of what you are doing but I want more segments. I can only see 6? That's not enough to complete a whole track. Maybe I'm missing something? Other than that I like it

Almost superb
I created a track in this app, exported it to launchpad where I wanted to continue adding with sounds I have in there, but that is not possible. Once you export a file to launchpad, you can only then add/edit additional files back in blocs wave! What's the point in exporting it then, other than for the FX feature which I don't use 🙄

Chopping...
I've recently bought an MPC (best samplers ever made!) and there's a feature on it for samples called 'lazy chop'. This app though, once you've paid for the additional slicer function, has got what I can only call the 'comatose chop'...what you saying Akai!
Difficult to rate though, I really like it!

A young app with great potential
I love Blocs, I've been playing with it for a few days in conjunction with Launchpad app. Admittedly, I've spent quite a few more bucks buying add-ons, but to me, it has been worth the results of being able to easily mix so many genres of music. The resulting fusion has been both rewarding and exciting. I'd like to think that at some point in future the developers will either add a more DAW-centric extension for adding extra arrangement and compositional elements, or perhaps just helping get some inter app compatibility with something like GarageBand iOS. Still, these are early days. I've come across no bugs and as already stated, the results of quick experimentation are very rewarding.

Went from being a paid app to a free app in one week
For someone learning how to make music, this app is quite good. But it's weird that a week after I downloaded the app it was turned into a free one, maybe in the future developers could keep consumers informed, especially since Novation makes hundreds of thousands of dollars in software and hardware sales.

Excellent app
If it could have basic effects like delay/reverb it would be even better. But please what's really needed is the pattern change synchronisation options , or at least let it occur only onto the beginning of next bar as it requires a deal of attention to not miss the exact timing if one is doing other stuff.
