Geolocation settings have disappeared
All of a sudden geolocation settings have disappeared from the app settings and therefore you can’t have automations that run based on this. I used to have them for an indoor camera, but I was then having problems with the app crashing so I deleted it and re downloaded it. It then prompted me to change the location service in the Apple settings to ‘always allow’, however, when you go to the settings, geolocation isn’t even an option anymore 🤷🏻♂️

Slow & unintuitive
The app barely works it’s impossible to use, I have to revert to using 3rd party interfaces but they haven’t appeared to sync schedules reliably.

App doesn’t save my SwitchBot
Every time I open the app I have to add the switch bot again. The app used to save it but after updates no longer saves the setup. Faster to get up and manually use the switch it’s supposed to be controlling.

Useful device
I’ve found a lot of uses for the switch bot: I use it to turn dawn to dusk outdoor lights off in the middle of the night when they are not needed and I use it to make special led ses lights into more or less dawn to dusk lights as I couldn’t get led ses in the shape required dawn to dusk . Unfortunately I can’t get it to actually work dawn to dusk I have to change the time with the seasons which is a bit of a pest! I also use one to switch the printer on remotely so it doesn’t have to stay switched on constantly.

Great app, power buttons are too small
The app works perfectly fine. Only issue is the power button to turn devices on and off in the app are too small and sometimes difficult to hit. They need to be made bigger or have an option in the settings to change their size from small to big based on what people may prefer to have.

Update has removed functionality
The update no longer lets you see humidity and temperature data over a year window, it restricts view to just 1 month maximum now.
Can no longer compare winter humidity and spring/summer levels which makes it a little pointless.

Latest update, Design changes removed useful features.
I use this app with some Switchbot temperature and humidity sensors. The new update changes the UX on the graph that shows the data for temperature and humidity. I used to be able to clearly see the Max and Min value when selecting 1 day, week period etc, as well as the current value. The new version only shows the current value along with the graph, so it’s impossible to find the max temperature over the last 24 hours for example which is super useful. Absolutely dumb design changes…

Doesnt work with home app & siri
I have been trying to use the Hub2 as a remote control for my A.C. Unit via Siri / HomePod, but it is impossible even through shortcuts; the only way is to use the app, and this is very inconvenient.

Was good but stopped working
This used to be a great product and service but a recent firmware/software update has stopped my original release hub plus (rainbow cloud) from communicating with the bots. This is the fundamental reason for having this software and hardware setup to make dumb appliances smart and accessible remotely. Please fix this asap! Also Switchbot’s communication with their customers is the absolute worst I’ve come across.

Can’t comment on the other SwitchBot products but for temperature it’s amazing. Just works, the screen is not taken up by features you have to pay for. So you’re not pointlessly pressing on screen taking you to features you don’t have access to.

Since this latest update, iOS shortcuts no longer work at all. If you activate them, they do nothing now. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, deleting and reinstalling the shortcuts, but they still don’t work.

Widget failure

URGENT REQUEST on notifications
Please implement a feature that allows users to set the frequency of notifications when the LOCK PRO device is unlocked and remains in an unlocked state. Currently, I receive notifications every 30-60 seconds when the LOCK PRO is left unlocked.
I couldn’t attach the screenshot, but I have received more than 100 notifications in my notification center within 2 hours. This is not a bug; it has been occurring since I got the Lock Pro or downloaded the SwitchBot app.
Please, please, please allow us to adjust the notification frequency or at least let us select to be notified every 30 minutes or 60 minutes, receiving only one notification within this duration. Receiving 100 notifications in such a short time is overwhelming. Please address this issue.

Spams you with notifications you cannot switch off
Works reasonably well but the app is very badly laid out and to get to the settings on any of your devices requires clicking through several pages - but the notifications are frequent and annoying. When you disable notifications in the settings it tells you that you will still get them if there is a "major exception" and they suggest they are crucial info updates. They're not. New products and things you might want to buy - total spam.

Great for accessibility, but app loses settings with brief internet outages.
As a disabled user, I find SwitchBot incredibly helpful for controlling my smart home. However, a major downside is that the app completely wipes out all devices, routines, automations, and linked information whenever there's a short internet disruption (even as brief as 3 minutes in my case). This has happened twice now, causing significant frustration and anxiety.
This feature is particularly problematic for disabled/able-bodied users who rely on smart home functionality for daily living. I urge SwitchBot to address this issue and ensure app settings are retained during short internet outages.

Good hardware, awful app
The app seems to have been designed primarily as an e-commerce app for selling me new Switchbot devices.
It also lets me control my existing Switchbot devices, but this part feels very flakey. The shop, of course, works perfectly.
Sort your priorities out. Stop letting marketing people dictate app design requirements - they should not even be in the room. The app is an essential part of the product you sell. Let your designers design it as such.

Puzzling to configure
I bought the indoor/outdoor thermometer to use with Bluetooth (not via a hub).
I works fine, but it is annoying to have to set up a user name and password… it’s a thermometer, I don’t have to do that with a £700 battery pack with Bluetooth… I used a disposable email address and blocked it from reading my location.

Does not utilise widgets
I shouldn’t have to keep on opening the app to turn on and off the light switch. I should be able to place a widget on my Lock Screen where I can control the light switch there. I don’t know why there isn’t a feature like this it would make life so much easier.

Won’t let me add a curtain as a single curtain, only lets me add @, but then it fails at grouping them every time. Waste of ,mosh and time as can’t use them with out the app to set up so will be sending back…I had such high hopes for this item as well as it would of been perfect for me if the app would of worked!

Bot Firmware Updating now works
For quite a while, the actual SwitchBot bots weren’t able to update their firmware to 6.6 which is required for them to join HomeKit when paired with the Hub 2. Now, the app seems to be able to do this very well, and now everything works.

SwitchBot bots not able to recover firmware
Every time I try to do what the instructions tell me to do, the app crashes.
Also the app is utterly frustrating and follows it’s own strange logic to perform even the simplest of tasks.

Lacks Matter or HomeKit support
Lots of potential! Fantastic customer service but being significantly held back due to the lack of Matter or HomeKit support. When they support back door HomeKit access via HomeBridge, there is simply no excuse for not natively support Matter or HomeKit across all the products. The Dev team needs to step up! The customer service team can only do so much!

Does it work? Kind of. Is it any good? Not really
I’ve got a few SwitchBot devices, namely temperature and humidity meters, a camera and something else I can’t find anymore.
The camera was a joke. Connecting and using it was nearly impossible, had to downgrade the WiFi to legacy and could not use the camera when isolated in a subnet without internet access which I find extremely sketchy.
The temperature and humidity meters I use every day. They have very decent range but loading the data is very problematic. It will fail multiple times and then all of a sudden it will sync the data. It does the job but to be honest it shouldn’t be that hard of complex. Don’t know if it’s the app or the devices.

Great app on iPhone, terrible on iPad.
Works great on iPhone but the layout and ridiculous zoomed in view portal on iPad is just terrible. There’s no need for it to be this bad, you could easily fix this, please do. I tend to use my iPhone when on the move and my iPad when at home so a smart HOME supplier needs to make this work on iPad, in my opinion.

No widgets?
So I got the curtain opener and was super disappointed to find that I couldn’t create a widget for it without buying an additional device - the SwitchBot hub. This seems a little ridiculous, I have cheap lightbulbs with basic apps that allow you to create widgets, with different colour options, too. I can’t imagine why an additional device would be needed simply to create a widget for the curtain opener.

Great smart home products
I started by getting my SwitchBot lock with keypad, and I just love it that I don’t need a key anymore to get into my house. After I got also t2 curtain rods 2 which I love in order to control the curtains in my living room. The app is quite good, but of course every new products need some time to function perfectly with the app. I would be great to see that the keypad also accepts 4 digits instead of always 6. They are definitely going in the right direction, and I hope they will add more smart products in the future.

Poorly developed…mighty disappointed!
On the positive side, clean and simple design. Actually, thats all thats good about this app. Just got the Meter and within a couple of hours frustrated with how notifications within the app dont even show up once. Reinstalled, reset, triggered different temp and humidity settings yet this app does not even show any notification (in the app itself) Moreover, funnily, functions like clear and mark as read work action perfectly even when no notifications exist. Add a room is not working and displays a blank page with a useless save button. Will the return the device and delete the app. Mighty disappointed with Switchbot!

Terrible app and product. Time sync loses itself after a week. So support tell you to resync. Fixes itself for a week then drifts again. Completely pointless when trying to run to a schedule. Wish I could get a refund.

Good app but confused about size
I’ve been using SwitchBot for years and honestly not had too many problem the only thing is I’ve always questioned why the app was so large when they didn’t have too many products then. I understand more products and features have been added since. Now the app is ballooning in size. 700mb+ now. I’m pretty certain by the end of the year it’ll be over 1gb. Please can you start looking optimising storage use?

Very pleased. Simply want meets simple solution
I got the bot to switch off my light from my bed. After allowing to stickers to stay for 24 hours it sticks as expected. I can’t link it to the home app but I later saw the small text stating it only works with home mini, which I’m not bothered by as voice activation wasn’t even part of the reason I got it

Great platform
Some reviews are old here, so can’t compare as only just got the app and system. I think it’s great and very affordable for what you are getting. There are some missing functions that would be great from a personal perspective, but I have sent feedback and had quick responses. These types of platforms are best built by feedback. That said, dark mode would be great, keep up the good work.

Have a SwitchBot set up on my garage door and works great from the App on my iPhone. Although I have the App on my Apple Watch the SwitchBot isn’t listed so I cannot control the garage door from my watch. I don’t have the hub.

Latest version
I’ve loved my experience with the thermometers up until this last update. I’m unable to export my data. Whenever I click on the start or end time for the ‘export selected time period’ it crashes the app. It will not let me export my data without populating these values. I have two thermometers and this is happening to both. Please fix!

Buggy, unusable.
Literally… don’t bother right now to download it. It never recognises your email - I question the ability of developers that cannot get a simple thing like sign in to work. Don’t believe me? Try it yourself - I wish the developers would.

Works well, but small issue
Works fine, and glad we can move the icons around now. The only issue I see is if a device is set up for a scheduled start, this is not noted in the log. Since I have heating that i start in the morning this way, I can’t see in the log if it has been started other that to touch the radiator!
Additionally, the charts are difficult to use. They scroll when you try to slide along to find the value of a data point.
Finally, the output from a shortcut action e.g. get a room temperature cannot be used as input for another action, which renders it pretty useless.

No good for double press, at the moment.
I have a projector which I am using this on and it requires a double press on the power button to put it in standby mode, using the switch bot I can essentially double press but only manually by opening my phone and just doing it quickly on and off but you can’t set it to double press on the schedule setting sadly so I have to open my phone whenever I want to turn my projector off (which is better than getting out of bed) but it would be nice if it could do it automatically. I have seen someone in these comments mention a beta version where it’s possible but sadly I have no idea how to install it so I’ll just have to wait until hopefully it become a feature. Thanks.

The switch bot doesn’t have an option to press every a rapid amount of times in short intervals but with a BETA firmware it does, highly recommend for anyone with a old school thermostat during this cold winter!

It’s never worked.
I’ve had this device a few weeks. The device is great. The app is dreadful. It’s never activated my device once via the via function. I leave my phone overnight on top of the washing machine and even then it’s never activated it. Yet I can sit in my lounge manually press the ‘press’ icon and it will work. Frustration to say the least. If it doesn’t work via Bluetooth it shouldn’t be sold as such

I’ve tried a few of these devices without any luck. Most wont even connect to Wifi. Switchbot did easily and by following the easy to understand instructions I set it up to work with my split air conditioner really easily. I would highly recommend Switchbot to all.

Not that reliable.
I’ve got a single switchbot which is hooked up to my bedroom light switch. It has one purpose to switch on the light at exactly 6am
For this scenario I should have had to use the app once and then forget about it. However ever three weeks I have to resync the clock.
My switchbot does not seem to be able to properly keep time! If I don’t resync the clock runs slow and I’m going to get fired for being late. Ps battery is brand new.
Please fix!
