Great app, Great Company!

Having used the app for eve 3 years now with my current company I can reliably say it is not only a great app for inter company communication but also offers a plethora of different layers to drive business and develop social leadership skills! Having recently worked with the team at Yapster to optimise their gamification feature which has been a game changer in running incentives company wide!!

As mentioned in the title a great app with an incredible support team behind it! Would highly recommend!

Good updates

I haven't had any problem so far with the App. I like how sufficient it is when you have access to different apps in it. Also it keeps you updated about the feedback Bot and seeing post from different restaurants or HO. Very handy if you need to contact someone within the company. 👌

Easy

To be honest I love YAPSTER it’s the quickest way for me to get all the info I need for work. On my days of I can get updates on everything that’s going on. The communication is amazing, you get to communicate with other members from your store and different stores. I like the way next has different groups such as mental health. I feel like it makes all the colleagues come together all around.

Staying in contact with colleagues

I love the fact that we can stay in touch with colleagues within our store, who we are not intouch with on social media, and we can also contact other colleagues in other stores. It’s a great way to communicate with the whole company, when in previous years we weren’t able to. I think it’s great.

Great company communication tool

One of the best forms of work communication I have used in my career. Easy to use as a platform for all work levels within a business to inform, communicate and share stories but most importantly its a great tool to be personable.

Won’t open

All of a sudden the Yapster app will not open, just stays on the blank white screen with the logo, I’ve turned my phone off and on etc but the app still won’t load.

My Yapster had been working fine but for the last month or too every time I click on app it doesn’t open, it gets stuck at the loading screen. So haven’t been able to use the app for a while :(

Too buggy

On mutliple occassions i have logged on to Yapster and can not see any chats in my Archive. I've not touched/deleted them and they seem to come and go as they please, i'm constantly missing messages from my employer as a result of not being able to see the messages depsite getting constant notifications about them.

I can find the messages if i type the specific name of a chat in at the top but i don't know them all and have to guess who's sent a message to what. Normally it sorts itself out in a couple of days but it's been about a week now and i still can't see a message that could potentially be important...i've tried refreshing multiple times nothing seems to work so i've given up with trying.

When you archive a chat, some of them still stay on your main screen. When your scrolling up or down through long chats, it jumps to god knows where in the chat and takes longer to find the comment you’re after

Great tool for communicating

What’s great about Yapster is that it’s separate from my other media and I’d dedicated to work.

Within this we can also create threads on various topics.This allows individuals to engage with the threads they are interested in or that are important to them.

I’m pleased to be part of a group giving feedback and that Rob is listening and reacting.

As a woman of a certain age that finds technology challenging Yapster is reasonably intuitive.

Bad app

I need to daownload every single day the app because it does not open and whenever I open it via Okta, so I open it on browser,it will not allow you to press “on browser” because text plus on top of the button and it does not scroll down properly.

Frustrating to use

Very buggy. Scrolling is glitchy. When you click an image or a profile and go back to chat, it’s pretty random which bit of the chat it takes you to. I spend about 20-30% of my time in the app scrolling trying to find the bit I was just reading. This is particularly frustrating because my company distributes essential info via Yapster.

Massive advocate

It’s like WhatsApp meets Instagram meets LinkedIn. The developers are constantly churning out new updates and the app looks and feels like the company you belong to when you download it. I don’t mix work with social anymore when I don’t want to, plus I’m able to contact everyone at work without needing their phone number first. Before when I worked, I’d get a message through WhatsApp and not know if it was for work or leisure, now I have Yapster I can tell instantly. The only issue with the app is that the UI could do with touching up, but if you’re reading this much later than I’m writing it then this might be a little outdated. But actually it gets a lot less clogged than WhatsApp does when all my friends create random chats for little to no reason.

So slow. This is not whatsapp

It’s sooo slow. I am forced to use it by the company but no one likes it. It is too slow to load or send messages and bugs coming up all the time. Not good enough as things sometimes are time critical and you have to wait for Yapster tk work. Staff used whatsapp for emergencies.

Revolutionised our company communication

Even before GDPR WhatsApp didn’t connect everyone but with Yapster our whole company is now more aware of what’s going on and the amazing things our teams do individually.

Yes there are glitches as the more forward thinking companies working with them request changes in features but the response and support more than make up for this.

Top tip - don’t add permissions, let anyone post anything, it will police itself and staff will engage.

Will the newsfeeds ever stop?!

Honestly the worst thing about this app is the newsfeeds. Good for you Italy, Germany, Spain. You’re all in rich areas where only the elite shop. I can’t mute the newsfeeds without muting all of the group chats too, which essentially means missing out on vital information from my team. I wouldn’t mind but a member of admin said an upgrade was coming by the end of last week. Where is this golden update? Also I think it would be a good idea to show if you have chat notifications like WhatsApp or fb messenger has when the notifications are muted
