Ford Pass App
Every time I open the FPA the status always says my vehicle is on, even though it’s locked and the ignition is switched off I have to manually Lock the car through the Ford pass up to put it back into park mode. Would this cause my battery issues on the app is constantly communicating with my vehicle because after a day or two of not driving my Ford focus the car goes into deep sleep mode.

Basic doesn’t cover it. Pre heating works when it wants which is normally when it’s not needed and the rest of the features aren’t worth mentioning.
Matches perfectly with the Explorer EV, cheapest tech, lowest price, lowest quality. Avoid Ford.

A bit hit and miss
Overall it’s a good app with great features. However sometimes it doesn’t seem to work and it’s mainly when I haven’t used the car for a few days. So I just get the buffering symbol and nothing happens. The Apple Watch app also only works when I have my phone with me so a bit pointless really. Generally though I have no complaints as the app tells you your fuel level, tyre pressures etc and will start the car and open/close the doors 80% of the time.

Limited connectivity
I thought that all the issues I had with sync 3 would have disappeared when I bought my all new electric explorer. Unfortunately it looks like it has got even worse. No information about tyre pressures, keyless or app entry. The only features available appear to be washer fluid health and the ability to warm the car up.

Home charging at night
For some reason my home schedule charging times stop working today. It worked fine last night. I have now deleted location to reset it (had to do this once before) and this time it won’t set up a schedule charging time at home until the car charges first time at this new location. The more this app updates the worse it gets.

Fallen from Great to poor
Typical case of poor development planning.
The previous versions were literally perfect.
Someone decided a graphics refresh was needed and now every ford car on the planet is apparently located at -180,-180 degrees.
Tried to be nice and call them to inform them of this error but after 20 minutes listening to a robot who says everything incredibly slowly besides for the on the only thing that matters - the email address - which is said so fast you can barely comprehend it therefore 1 star.
Poor show.

Charge times settings
Hello any update on this request - be good to be able to use that extra hour of cheap electric by having half hourly start and finish times option? - Please could we have 1/2 or even 1/4ly hourly options on the charging times settings - only from-to ‘on the hour’ means with a cheap overnight tariff from 0030-0530 we lose a whole hour of cheap electric as timer has to be set 0100 to 0500 only. Look forward to your feedback.

App doesn’t tell me anything when the car fails to charge. You can set a charge target (have to get in the car for that!) before charging - only during charging who is not good at 5am. Clashes with other apps so it becomes a lottery for EV charging

I have transferred to a Ford Explorer from a VW ID4.
The mechanics of the car are the same. However the software on the Ford is much quicker and easier to navigate. But the Ford App is very poor compared with the VW one. No departure times for heating the car only a 30 minute timer, other options are not as good and it is very slow to link with the car

Can’t set location with the Puma Gen-e so you can set preferred departure time. I’m sure the software update function does work. The car SATNAV round-about symbols on the dash show left when it’s right and right when the next turn is left. Maybe I just got one that was destined for Auz not the UK.

Just enough functionality that you have to use it…
With my previous Transit Custom which was a diesel, this app was barely worth having as all it did really was tell you the tyre pressure levels.
With the PHEV I am using now, I have to use the app to set the charge levels for the locations I charge in, and adjust the departure times so that the battery can be pre conditioned. The issue now is that 90% of the time I have to force kill the app to get it to refresh the charge level information as it rarely does it in the background even though the app is set to allow background refresh in my phone settings.
It also seems odd that Ford doesn’t allow you to set the charge rate/amperage that the battery will accept like other EV manufacturers. You’re stuck with whatever rate the the charger you’re currently using will throw at it.
The notifications are also a bit hit and miss. Sometimes they arrive and actually adhere to the settings you’ve set in the phone settings, other times they silently sit and wait for you to stumble across them whilst looking for something else on your phone.
For one of the world’s largest companies, it’s a bit of a poor offering, but it does just about enough that you’re kind of forced to have to use it.

Good basic functions.
But, missing more complex options. Eg. Plug in car and it starts charging automatically. So I use the app to stop the charge (as it’s peak electricity time) but this in turn stops the scheduled charge from happening over night. Where’s the feature that gives us the option of disabling charging on plugging in?
Also, preferred charge times are only settable on the hour. My electricity tariff gives cheap energy from 12:30am to 5:30 am… would be good if the app allowed me to start charging from half past the hour, and not just from 1-5am…

Charge status is no longer shown
My car is charging outside the house, but the app no longer shows that this is the case. It is set to charge only during the hours between midnight and 7 am yet it is now charging at 10 pm. I have no way of knowing this because when you press the charge no longer shows you what rate it’s charging at nor what the current charge is. Now the only way I can control the charge is when I am at my home and plugged into my OHME charger which has its own charging regulation. It was always difficult to set charging times, but now it doesn’t even show what is going on. Outrageous as this is such an obvious oversight.
This has got worse, i now seem to be unable to force the car to charge when at home outside of hours - I will now have to use fast charging as i can’t ovetride home charging

Very frustrating update
The latest update has changed the look of the app, and not for the better in my opinion.
Despite saying it was also fixing bugs it seems new ones have been introduced.
The charging data doesn’t update properly for my Kuga PHEV who’s is frustrating. Also I’m having to reset all of my Preferred Charge Times on the car as the app no longer seems to recognise the times I’ve had ever since I bought the car in September 2024.
All very frustrating.

Ford App location
The latest version of the Ford app takes away the fresh function that gives you an up to date view of your cars location, it also doesn’t update the charge status as readily as its previous version. The refresh function of dragging down the screen was particularly useful if you want to check on a vehicles location that is on the move, but part of the same refresh instantly updated the charge status as well, not sure why Ford withdrew this function, wonder if it’s to do with the SIM card and some agreement with the mobile operator to reduce data usage. Either way, we pay for the security features so it’s really annoying.

Features that have been removed like ability to switch between charge times and charge when plugged in means you now have to open car get in start it and then change it which is ridiculous, also why can it not show a lock status like the pro app used to, and the trip info for hybrid was really useful also removed

Needs more features
Purchased an EV for the first time. Was expecting to have similar features on the app as my previous car. Doesn’t tell whether the car is locked or not. Doesn’t tell you if windows are closed. Doesn’t provide tyre pressure reading. Can’t send map route to the car. Importantly, doesn’t notify you if the car alarm goes off etc…. I definitely feel like I’ve gone back in time with the lack of usefulness of the app for Ford EVs. Dreadful!
Update: When will features that are readily available in other cars, be made available for Ford EVs? This is disappointing!

Notifications and alerts plus improvements.
Since last update, or possibly the one before I no longer get updates with charging information such as start time, stop time, kWh added, miles added. Hopefully there are imminent plans not only to rectify this but also bring the app inline with other EV producers. I would really like to see the ability to set a temperature for car conditioning instead of it only being available on the car. Another suggestion is remote setting the sat nav system so it’s ready to go when you get in the car. Journey history would also be very useful. I previously had a hybrid from another manufacturer and all these, and more, were available.

Fantastic yet another update where it affects vehicle charging, sometimes it’s just a one off, the most recent update caused my vehicle to not charge at all as I had it set to charge anytime, now the app wants a time submitting, so after 3 days of no charging I eventually figure out that now your stupid settings need me to start charging at 1300 and stop at 1200 so at least my car will charge in that 23 hour window (cause of course you can’t let people submit minutes as well, that would be far too complicated) so charge anytime doesn’t actually work now - test things before you decide to screw up functionality

ST performance edition
The ford pass app won’t show my location I think my gps antenna in car is faulty I’ve done umpteen master resets on sync 3 system to no joy even disconnected the battery and reconnected it again hasn’t rectified the issue following the above I have checked my settings on my sync 3 system as before location was always allowed and on my iPhone was also always allowed location I have also removed the fuse for the sync 3 system and left out for twelve hours replaced it again hoping this would rectify the issue again to no joy I am now 100% convinced this is a gps antenna failure and so frustrated 😡as the car only has 30,000 miles on it

Good App, in need of some improvements tho.
Some useful features on the app, though it definitely needs to display whether the doors are locked or not. I appreciate that when the doors are locked via the app, ‘locked’ is briefly displayed, it should be permanent. Reading through the reviews this has been asked for time and again- come on Ford please listen to your customers!
Another useful addition would be for the app to show the individual range in miles/km for fuel and battery, not just a percentage for each and combined miles.
Also the ability to vary the the charge rate, very useful for those of us who have solar panels etc, so we could match the charge rate to the power produced by the panels.

App is broken
The app has an update. The app won’t do anything until it is updated. But the update requires iOS 16 or later. I have an iPhone 7 which won’t go to iOS 16. I have a perfectly good iPhone that still works - but I can no longer use this app on it because Ford have not only made the latest version not work on my phone, but made the older version not work on my phone either. So I can no longer remotely start my car, or see detailed messages or any of the other connected features. The app is broken and has reduced the functionality of my £30,000 car.
Ford need to either stop disabling the version of the app that runs on iPhone 7 or provide me with new iPhone that will run the newer app.

Shockingly bad currently
I’ve had this app for a while now whilst it seems to work okay for older fords it’s terrible for newer vehicles , my new transit connect (2024) struggled to connect despite multiple attempts it kept saying to accept a on screen prompt on the infotainment system in the vehicle that never came I eventually managed to get it connected, only to find there was no remote start available, no tyre pressures available, no oil life monitoring available all of which is available on the previous generation transit connect so it seems we have gone backwards in connectivity not forwards , if I try to schedule a service or select a preferred dealer the app just crashes and closes despite having latest ios and the latest app update- not impressed ford need to get this sorted asap
In response to the developer : this vehicle health information / section is not available in my app, data sharing is already switched on I know it’s an issue with the app because if I log into the html website and look at my vehicle dashboard I can see oil life etc but it’s not available in the app

Charging schedule issues
Dear Developers,
The app functions well overall, although it is noticeably slower compared to apps from other vehicle manufacturers. While this isn’t ideal, it’s something I can tolerate.
However, I find the charging schedule feature frustrating. I use the app to schedule charging during off-peak hours to take advantage of lower night-time tariffs. However, if I need to top up during the day, the only option is to cancel the schedule entirely. This process is impractical and very frustrating, especially since adjusting the schedule takes quite a bit of time.
For reference, I also have another EV with a similar app, but it offers a simple “Charge Now” button to override the schedule without having to cancel it. Adding such a feature would be a game-changer for usability.
I’d greatly appreciate it if this feature could be considered in future updates.
P.S. My current vehicle is the new Ford Transit Custom PHEV.

Missing Features on Other Cars
The app works and what it offers it seems to do well, but I’m always disappointed when I look at screenshots of other Ford Electric cars (e.g. the Mach E) and see that I just don’t have the same controls as those.
Things like climate control are limited by what you have set in the car before hand, e.g. I’ve set the car to heat to 22 degrees, that’s what hitting the ‘start climate’ button does, when others have spoken of how they can set the temperature independently from the car. Useful when it’s not as cold a day and you don’t need the heating / pre conditioning set that high. Or for summer, when you might want the car chilling on a warm day, or slightly warming on a cooler one.
Overall it just feels like an app still in development, missing features which you think would be standard.
But as I say, does do what it offers your particular car. I was just expecting much more.

Nice features but room for improvement
I do like the app and how I can turn on and off my car, ping it using the horn/lights feature and unlock/lock the car using the app. However I use Siri regularly for smart home things like turning my lights on/off when I have my hands full or busy. So in a busy morning would be nice to say “Hey Siri, turn the car on” then have to load the app and then do it. I think this is something that can be setup within the app to give people the option to enable/disable this capability. I also don’t seem to be able to schedule my car to turn on which I heard is available for some cars. If I can use the app to turn the car on why can’t I tell the app at HH:MM turn the car on? Why is this only on some cars?

Lacking functionality
On first try it looked quite interesting. A simple and clear layout with the main functions in front of you. However I think it should go somewhat further with the key information, for example….
Firstly, it’s pretty important to check battery voltage remotely if the vehicle is left for some time (think long term airport parking or extended trips). The start / stop function could then help avoid the risk of a flat battery on return.
Secondly, aside of the security subscription, a ring fence feature could alert the owner if the vehicle has traveled outside a configured radius, for example alerting the owner if staff or children taking the car and venturing beyond where they are meant to be.
Surely all possible with the current hardware.
At the cost of vehicles today, this App needs building on quickly but generally on the right path.

App not fully working
Hi, I purchased the new Ford Explorer and I’m trying to connect to Octopus Energy in order to charge the vehicle. There appears to be a breakdown in communication between the Ford and Octopus App in order to link the car. I notice on the Ford Pass that the location of the car is different to the actual location including postcode. You cannot alter within the App and I feel this is preventing Octopus from recognising the car. Having contacted the help desk they indicate that there is an issue with the App and it will be up to two weeks before an update. This really disappoints me, in that I cannot utilise cheaper times to charge the car. One would think they would have tested these potential problems before releasing a new model. Not happy.

So watered down from what was promised, very unimpressed with this version
When I purchased the vehicle the original App was quite good, user friendly, now it’s so basic. Quite annoying really and certainly not something I could recommend to anyone, in fact the complete opposite,,,,
Why not call the Adblue level, “Adblue”,,,after all it is “Adblue”,,,so call it that as it was in the previous App,,,just don’t get it,,,Awful!!!
Such a shame and this is being reflected in so many of the other reviews,,,unbelievable really rather than enhancing and improving this updated version has gone in the opposite direction and made it worse,,,just hope it’s noted by Ford and they do something about it pronto!

Made worse in this update
Forced to change to this version as Ford Pass Pro was cancelled. One of the most used features is absent. A simple lock status showing if the car is locked or not. Walk away, wonder if you locked the car?, check on the app.
No longer. Okay, you can lock the car again, just in case, but still no ongoing status so your other driver may look at the app and not know if it’s locked or not and end up locking it over and over. Annoying. Why not just show this basic piece of information?

Already miss locked status from Pro
One of the best features of the Ford pass pro was the fact that the home page showed the current lock status. Now that has been discontinued and this app is the only alternative that feature missing is a problem. If I try to lock my car from the app to check it’s locked it says there has been a problem. It should say at least already locked. I wouldn’t want to unlock remotely to then lock to check as that’s a serious security issue. Please is you can have that feature on one app why not the other??

Missing features/broken app needs updates and improvements
App will still not show current state of the locks as in locked or unlocked. It gives me the options to lock the doors but doesn’t tell me what state they are in so how am I supposed to know ? ? Needs an update and sorting out asap. Developers surely couldn’t have missed this. Going from the Ford pass pro to this app is like going back in time, how can this be?

Absolutely furious!
Having had my vehicle serviced at my local VAT registered garage, I was informed by the garage service department that they would update my vehicle service record on the App. I continued to receive notifications that my vehicle was due for service, so I returned to the garage where they assured me that the service record update had been completed. On contacting Ford, I was informed that the new app would not accept updates from garages that are not Ford approved, despite this being possible previously. Apparently the app developers had decided not to include this feature. The neared Ford approved garage with van capabilities is two hours away! I asked to file a formal complaint and was told that someone would contact me. It has been months now and I have not heard a peep. My van is due for renewal, and since Ford are treating me like a second-rate customer, I will be looking elsewhere for vehicles in future. I will not believe that the app developer has the autonomy to decide what features are or are not available. Totally fobbed off!

Made worse
The FordPass app is a nice idea badly executed. When I first used the app many years ago with my Focus, it was helpful. It had security alerts that told me when my car doors or boot were opened. It told me not only my fuel level, but also my mileage. Mileage is useful when you’re on a limited mileage PCP or lease contract. Now, with my new Puma, it used to only tell me what percentage of fuel the car had left. It now also tells me the estimated mileage, which is distinct improvement. It will let me unlock the car remotely, but that’s of limited value when you can just open and unlock the car by touching the door handle with the key in your pocket. What’s missing are the really useful security alerts, the mileage detail, I’m certain more could be done. I am sure if you have an electric car it does way more, and when I can rely on local infrastructure to get one, I’ll enjoy it. But please make this app little more than a minor time saver. In this day it should be way more capable and functional.
Burying the odometer in service misses the point. Get users to help test the functionality of your app.

Updated app QA needed
I wasn’t keen on the new update and wanted to give it enough time for Ford to implement some bug fixes and changes related to feed back.
My current issue is the car graphic image is blank, even after resetting the app, car app and re syncing. The car is now always listed as engine is running, the car is physically turn off. It’s also showing my car being located 30miles away at my place of work, it is currently located at my house.
Previously I would be loading the old version of this app daily to access my car for access, engine warming, etc. Now I only use this app to check if there has been an update. If this app doesn't improve it will be removed from my device as it’s become obsolete to just physically accessing my car.

Latest update absolutely awful
Latest update is absolutely awful, most annoying part needing an immediate fix is that service history mileage is showing wrong! Everything else is just more difficult to use too, all the main things you need, vehicle location, tyre pressures, health status, all require clicking onto different pages within the app. No sign of the vehicle handbook either, don’t know how to find it now. Wish there was a way to revert to previous version of the app.
3 weeks on from initial review - finally a new version. Only worthwhile update is distance to empty in miles is back. Still no fix for the service history mileages being wrong! How can it take over 3 weeks to fix!!!

Much Improved, but still missing one vital function!
This app since the update last month is much more functional, however, all it still needs (I’ve asked for it and many others have too) is to show whether the car is Locked or Unlocked. Saying it’s “Parked” isn’t really of any use.
Well done for the update, but please just add that feature and the App will be pretty much perfect.

App in Reverse
I’ve had this app since 2020, and it just gets worse with each update. It started off really useful, with a journey planner and fuel economy gauge. It actually encouraged safe and economical driving by rating your acceleration, braking and cornering. That is long since gone.
The latest casualty is the fuel gauge. It used to state how many miles you had in the tank. Now it just gives a percentage. What on earth? Don’t they understand that being told you’ve got 80 miles of fuel left is more helpful than being told the tank is 20% full (or whatever it is). I hope they reverse this in the next app, although I fear that the prevalence of electric vehicles and the associated range issues might make this unlikely.
Then there’s tyre pressures: they used to be on the vehicle status page but now they’re hidden a step beyond the Service screen. Why?
I’m sure they’ll come a day when the app support for vehicles will become a key part of which car you purchase. Ford had better get their act together and start improving Fordpass rather than sabotaging it or I’ll go elsewhere…

Nice update - July 2024
I like the new GUI folding the recent update. Adding in the pre-climate control is a great new feature. There are still some missing features though. For example: 1. Why not actually show the vehicle lock status. This would really help with those ‘Did I lock my car moments’. Just open the app and either the locked or unlocked icon is highlighted. Now you know. 2. Display the outside temperature. This would be useful to know whether pre-climate is required. 3. Add pre-climate temperature controls including heated seats, steering wheel and windscreen. I look forward to the next update.

Must think customers are stupid
Last years App update removed the journey history. I found that really useful to tell how many electric miles and how many petrol miles were done on my recent journeys from the app. We were told this feature removal was temporary.
This recent App update (July 24) removes the ability to drag down to refresh battery information and current location. Devestated to hear this is "Temporary" so will never be seen again. I think they forgot they had already used that excuse.
How come every other manufacturer is making their cars and apps smarter while Ford clearly head in the opposite location.

More responsive but more features lost
What happened to miles to empty? I have a petrol Focus and it now only shows % fuel. Also cannot see when the location last updated, and do not seem to be able to refresh with a swipe. Owners manuals are gone too. Still miss having Securialert which was removed last year. It would be good to see lock status added too which seems a basic feature and can be seen in Ford Pass Pro so why not here? It is nice to not have to hold down the buttons anymore, but not much else is improved. It seems Ford is favouring the EV experience at the expense of customers who purchased petrol/diesel vehicles a few years ago that were advertised with a feature packed FordPass app

Have used FordPass since getting the car. Found it very useful especially when it warned me of a puncture before I left the house. Shame you can not use it to download updates to the cars software. I have tried downloading updates via WiFi however it never works. Apparently Ford are aware of this issue but haven’t fixed it. Probably happy with the dealers charging £160 to do it!!

The update nowhere near as good as the original app
Disappointed yet again, Ford have taken away more features from this app than they added, original app had a very useful journey tracker they ripped that away and replaced it with nothing, most of the app is for the benefit of the Ford company, rather than the consumer, for example, adding easy way to, subscriptions, booking your next service,etc I could see, no reason why with the technology we have, for example to be able to set up a journey on the satnav on your FordPass, rather than crawling around in the car, setting it up in the car itself, then finding that the automatic ignition cut off, and also cuts off your while your programming There are loads off technical add on they could use if they really wanted to. They may well say as I have read on other reviews they took the features a way to make the platform more stable However, this statement has appeared for well over a year now and they still haven’t sorted it.! What really makes me laugh I read somewhere in the terms and conditions that the FordPass is free to anyone buying a new car for a lifetime, and in brackets it has 10 years , surely a lifetime is a lifetime not 10 years! I think Ford needs to look at its wording, a little more accurately!

Good app, but definitely needs improving
The app is very useful being able to unlock lock and start the car should I wish to, however in the charging section of the app, being able to change the charge and percentage times really need improvement.
When you select your start and end time for charging and try and save your preferred times it hangs on the loading screen and you have to crash the app several times for your settings to be saved. However this doesn’t always work, and you have to revert to going out to the car to physically change your charge start and end times on the centre console touchscreen of my Ford Kuga PHEV.

Blocked my account because of energy supplier
I liked this app and used it most days. Particularly during cold days. I have a PHEV which can’t communicate with any third party apps but because Octopus Energy control my zappi charger, Ford claim Octopus is getting data related to my car which Ford “own” and have suspended my Ford Pass account. It’s complete rubbish. When and how often I charge my car is up to me. I called Ford and they said they unlock my account because they now “work with Octopus” but that’s been several weeks now and I still can’t get access.
Update 22-Mar-24. The app developer replied with an email address for support which I contacted but it’s been over a week and still no reply to my email. I am locked out of my Ford pass account so I can’t remote start, edit charging schedules etc. please don’t buy an electric or PHEV Ford car until they work out how to provide timely support to their Ford pass customers.

Cosy starts to cold mornings
Living in Scotland, frosty mornings are a common thing. Scraping windows, freezing cold steering wheels and chittering kids are never a good vibe.
With this app, all these problems vanish. Being able to start the car and warm it up, clear the windows, all from the comfort of my home (or anywhere for that matter) is epic.
Additionally, having access to my car details and instruction manual digitally encourages me to explore more of my cars features.

Love the app but need more features
I love the ford pass app but I feel there are some more features that could make it even better:
- you can remote start the car but you still need the keys to drive. Would be great to use the phone as the key to drive
- start up controls: it would be great to be able to when starting the car set things like, heated windscreen on/off, heated seats/steeringwheel on/off, set temperature, set destination from the phone which transfers to the car.

Issues with schedule Charging
App has been great for 12 months, over the last 4 weeks the settings keep changing them selves from “charge to 100% when plugged in” to “preferred charge times”
I haven’t set any proffered charge times and it keeps randomly changing it from charge whenever to different proffered charge times.
When I go in (daily) to change it back it hangs for ages and then says “something had gone wrong, try again later”
So most mornings I am waking up and my car isn’t charged! Very frustrating!

Not much use
This app used to be a lot better before Ford started removing features from the vehicle and the app. Now it’s only really shows state of charge and when you’re charging. Though there are buttons to lock and unlock the car it doesn’t show if it is locked or not. You can remote start the car but there’s no settings in the app to say what temperature to warm up to, or how long to run for before departure, can’t easily schedule a start/warm up time either.
The most useful feature about how good an EV driver you were as a coach for range/economy was removed too.
Software updates are a joke - every one just says bug fixes or improvements.

Flawed
Buggy, slow and features get removed without notification (secure alert).
To top it all off, just now I used the app to unlock my car because my keys are with my wife but 10 mins later can’t lock it because the app now says I need to go to the App Store to download an urgent update so takes me to the App Store which indicates I’m already on the latest I downloaded a week ago.
I cannot get round this to use the app and tried forcing it closed and refreshing the available downloads but to no avail.
So I am now left with an unlocked car and no way to lock it.
Now got to leave it unsecured and wait for my wife to come home later as my keys are in her handbag.

Doesn’t do much!
So I recognise the app is useful for locking/unlocking/starting the vehicle remotely, and I also like the new option to activate the horn and lights. Also useful for checking fuel levels and it alerted me to a puncture which was helpful. Those few things are useful and work well, however that’s about it. I just sat down today to look in the manual via the app and could easily find a guide to the instrument panel icons (I’ll flick through the paper version in the glovebox instead). Also I had a look at the how to videos to see if I could get the in car hotspot activated and the video instructions steps were not possible on my app - when I followed the video different screens appeared and there was no reference to the WiFi. The video gave no indication of how to set up a trial, either. At least this new version of the app is more stable than the last, but plenty of room for improvement here.

Very Disappointed
Useful features removed, useless features kept. EV driving log is gone I found this so useful as this is for a company car Kuga PHEV, as far as I am aware this is not available through the infotainment system. All I would like to do is track my driving it was so much easier than using google maps, not even a notification to say it would be removed, thought it was a fault, had the car 6 months. All the rest is mainly gimmicky, open and start the car from the phone - pointless, and some of the other features can be accessed within the car. The odometer, oil health and tire pressure monitoring is vaguely useful hence 2 stars. PLEASE CONSIDER ADDING THE DRIVING LOG BACK.

Missing notifications
I purchased my transit sport about 3 years ago and found the notifications when a door opens I was notified but when I upgraded to the new App I no longer get the notifications Can this be looked into !!

Way, Way Behind Competitors
After personally reviewing this Ford Pass Apps (alongside my Ford Mach-E) and comparing with the equivalent BMW i4 App and Mercedes EQA App, my opinion is as follows
The only comparison one could draw is that Ford is way, way behind in software and development compared to these very similar vehicles
And it pertinent to point out that whilst Ford are a light year behind in Software and App Development, the reliability of the Ford App is poor at best
Often it crashes, displays incorrect data, more often that it displays accurate data.
Ford example simple functionality seems to be missing, you can lock and unlock the vehicle remotely, but you are unable to see if the car is actually locked or windows shut
The Route Planner crashes often
The EV driving information is spurious at best
Pre-conditioning produces some crazy results, often heating the car to maximum and turning on heated seats and heated steering wheel in the height of summer, despite being set to cool and turn on air conditioning

The system has proved useful. More than I thought it would . I’d prefer the car’s location to update a lot more quickly. The two our lag seems a little long. Autocar start is really useful in the winter. As is the car horn device. Wife lost the car in the Airport car park. I didn’t find this out until a few weeks ago. The range remaining caused a body shop problems ,the mileage didn’t increase but it used half a tank of fuel. That led to someone refilling my tank for the fuel they “borrowed “. This is the most recent Ford I’ve owned , have to say I love it. AWD Kuga is an amazing car

Where has the security alert gone?
This app fails to give any info about charging times, ranges or any other information regarding the Custom PHEV. What is the point of having a Charge Settings tab if there is no ability to do anything on it or even any ability to add any locations. The only thing I can do it’s remotely lock/unlock and see where it is. All Ford have seem to have done stuck a battery, charging point and an electric motor into a custom without any thought process to anything else. Ford really need to look at the connectivity between the app and the vehicle and maybe take a leaf out of the mini app (which works and is fantastically intuitive). Extremely disappointing and incredibly slow app which doesn’t have the ability to talk to the van or do any different from the old FordPass app.
The ONLY useful feature the old app had you got rid of, bring back the security alert. I’d rather you get rid of the unlock function and have the security alert that was there before.

Same “Cut & Paste” response to everyones feedback
Used to be an ok app, the most useful function being “SecuriAlert”. If your car door or boot opened you’d get a immediate text alerting you.
It never failed to alert me, within seconds, of the door or boot being opened. It was a very stable app.
But for some reason, most likely because it cost Ford money, despite what they say, they have removed this useful service.
You can still check your tyre pressure from the comfort of your home.
You can still check your odometer reading from the comfort of your home.
And as we all do, you can still check the oil life from the comfort of your home.
However, if someone breaks into your car, you’ll no longer be notified because none of us want to know about this!
But take comfort in the knowledge that Ford “took the difficult decision to …”
Interestingly, Ford have kept the ability to book Service with them. Maybe because it makes them money?
Now we all have this pointless app on our phones, I can only suggest deleting it and if your in the fortunate position not to have downloaded it yet, and are reading this review, do yourselves a huge favour, don’t waste your time and phone space with this useless app.

The app is very poor, for a company like Ford, when I bought the marquee, I was promised bells and whistles. Unfortunately, these have not materialised The app is very basic for a car in this price range is very poor.

Can you please fix the crash on preferred charging time?
Okay app, very unstable and holds on certain screens for ages. For example last updated 2 hours ago on Home Screen, pull down to refresh and doesn’t work. Very annoying if you want to try and charge the vehicle and need it to know it’s plugged into a charger.
Also you cannot setup a charging schedule in the app, it just crashes every time. Same if you try to delete a charging schedule. You need to setup in the car for it to work.
Not good enough when people have electric tariffs that flex based on charging times.
