Service Fee

Klarna have now started charging a service fee on pay-in-3 purchases in the UK. This was NOT communicated to me at all and was only noticed when carefully checking the payment details at checkout. Shame on Klarna for this. I will be going back to PayPal for these sort of purchases going forward.

Unable to have multiple

Charges

I authorised payment from my account and Klarna does not take that payment so the charges me a late fee every time. This is ridiculous and costing me way over the cost of the recurve goods.

Frustrating

Forced to transfer to this app from Stocard (which was very useful and reliable). I don't want to be repeatedly offered credit. I simply want a virtual wallet to store my loyalty cards. The Klarna app always takes an age to load and frequently fails to do so even when my phone has signal. Frustrating and embarrassing at the till.

Not Happy

I have spent a few hundred quid + through Klarna , and always have kept up and Paid every instalment on time and Paid all off, Now because British Gas has put me on a credit report due to me arguing about last years estimated bills that they reckon I used , When there not-so smart meter was not working so I’m wondering why should I pay a standing charge for something that’s not working 😡!!!

Store Cards

I was forced into downloading this app as they bought out the very handy 'Storcard' app that I used to keep all my loyalty store cards in one place....it was a great app 😍 It's been a total nightmare ever since Klarna took over - it took ages to get up and running, often logs me out when I'm in a queue at the supermarket, takes ages to load and I only want to access my store loyalty cards....I have NO INTEREST in any of there other services which they are desperately trying to promote to me every time I open the app. Feel like I may go back to carrying all the plastic cards in my purse!

Amazing option without interest

Klarna have made my life very easy. I pay everything with Klarna and know that I only need to pay back with one card. The only improvement is that it should give more than one time to reschedule the payments for middle class families. It’s a great option and I use it in every shop.

I think Klarna is an incompetent business that has not been able to solve a problem for more than two months. It’s been months, it couldn’t be solved, shame on Klarna. Use another platform don’t download it.

Pay off early

I’m one of these people who will pay off any credit I utilise as soon as I can - I don’t like accumulating interest and I don’t like to accidentally miss a payment. I tried to pay the sum total of “What You Owe”but this ability seems to have disappeared! In the past, I’ve been able to pay off in full, now it will only allow me to pay what’s due this month. THEN I have to go into what’s due NEXT month and jump through hoops just to make THAT payment. Please fix this Klarna! Don’t try to make money by trying to catch people out who think they’ve paid in full but have only paid in part. Stop playing with people’s lives. Only 4 stars for you, it would’ve been a 5…

Great for bad crediters

Nobody anywhere would even consider me for credit because of my younger. Wild days , has been for years until i came across these at checkout on ebay, i just pressed as id never heard of them and still try now and again but always no,!!! Then wow they not only trusted me and alowed me to pay in 3, for sumthing i was just about to pay in full for , but also has finally allowed me to start getting credit an build it up again so am so pleased👍👍😃😃😃if ur in my sort of state with credit then head here , i had to slightly pay more than wud have been if credit were ok , but was expensive an more than jumped at chance to rebuild sum credit rating after mostly being nil chance most of adult life great deals to be had also

Customer support

I have never had any problems with this app at all it has been useful most off the time and for some reason it’s gone tits up for me it wouldn’t show me any payments to pay for when I had the money so I assumed I had paid it off no my bank statements telling me there taking £70 off me I’m confused as to why and customer support even said themselves to cancel all my cards because it wasn’t making sense iver now it’s decided to spring it up on me and update how much I owe when it never did before I tried to speak to customer support about this and honestly it was appalling he wouldn’t listen and look I can understand customer support can be difficult but he was just taking the micky out off me wouldn’t listen to my problems at all claiming I was in the wrong I’ll be paying off all that I owe and deleting the app it’s a shame really cause he was even justifying higher ups to say the same thing didn’t give me the option to speak to Somone who would of maybe listened properly

Very convenient app

I like the Klarna app as it’s very easy and convenient way to make purchases. However, I have given three stars because of two issues which hopefully can be improved soon. First of all despite having auto pay activated, a valid payment card and funds available, my payment fails with no specific reason given. I’ve also separately started receiving messages saying the card type isn’t valid (it’s a debit Mastercard). Despite this, I am able to make a manual payment via the app using the same card. Secondly, the options available when using chat are not great. If the problem doesn’t relate to a specific purchase, it’s almost impossible to get past the bot. I had to google for a contact number.

What a brilliant way to pay

New to the whole ‘Klarna’ experience. I’ve seen it out there in many payment options but was always a little apprehensive with it, I would say a lack of understanding on my part. Recently decided to try it and give it a go, even downloaded the app, and was amazed to learn more about Klarna. My kids rave about it so felt a bit safer with the whole concept. If you are considering payment options at the basket or check out and you see ‘pay with Klarna’, give it try. It’s easy to manage and control and is extremely useful in the right environment and conditions and an exceptional money management tool.

Great way to shop and spread the cost

I’ve used Klarna to shop online numerous times knowing I can pay for item(s) with 0% interest over 3 months, and they’ve also added a new 12 month payment plan for more expensive items.
It’s safe, quick and easy to use and saves time not having to fill out all your details.
It gets better, you can also use the virtual credit card in just about any retail outlet and choose how you want to pay.
I’d definitely recommend Klarna to anyone, just ensure you have money available in your bank when you are notified of payment pending to avoid any late fees or interest as that is the only time you’d become liable to extra costs

Advice, be cautious with Klarna credit card!

Absolutely love Klarna have used it for a few years now the flexibility of three monthly payments has been a brilliant opportunity to get what is needed and plan ahead.
However, I really need to make it clear that when I was offered a credit card by Klarna, I thought it would be useful to have if needed, and understood that I still had three monthly payments as an option at point of purchase. Things started to become very complicated. As the credit card dominated any other flexible payment options that I had previous only ever had known and used. That turned all those possibilities into 30day payments, and before long I had bogged myself down, and was now dealing with a very different beast.
I am now in the process over a few days of having everything under control to having nothing under control.
I personally would not have the credit card aspect as it is not flexible as I believed it was meant to be when I took it on, and also as a word of caution do not allow auto payment set up because once you agree to this you are stuck with one date to pay your bill, whereas if you remember to pay it which I do usually early, then you have control of your account particularly with the three payment options under their original system.
I think, maybe they’re getting a little ahead of themselves as a company, and have suddenly turned into a financial monster, and an unregulated one at that.

WARNING !

I have used them many times, all has been fine until I got an issue. Seller did not send the item. I put in a dispute with Klarna . They seem to have no clue what I am saying . I sent all messages between myself and the seller , where he stated he had cancelled the delivery but he won’t refund stating it’s up to the bank. Klarna sent me an email saying it wasn’t enough evidence ! They are now taking all 3 payments from me for an item I haven’t even got . I have contacted the FCA who understood the issue but though Klarna is FCA registered they can’t help when it’s a 3 payment agreement. My credit card company are now involved , again they fully understand my situation yet Klarna fo not! I will never deal with them again . I am almost £300 down for something I don’t have

Amazing service

Due to unforeseen relationship circumstances many years ago when I was younger I had some bad debt that had prevented me from getting credit despite now having a successful business and a regular income. After tentatively starting to use Klarna they have completely changed my life for the better as I am now able to responsibly use credit and it has helped clean up my credit rating and has opened new doors for my personal life and my business and I have a healthy bank account and a financial buffer for unforeseen vet bills or garage bills and have planned a summer holiday which will be paid for by next summer. Used responsibly it is a safe and reliable financial service I would highly recommend

I will be closing down my account.

Klarna has so far only allowed me to make one buy now pay later purchase.
The second purchase sent me through to a page to verify my ID by uploading my licence or passport and a selfie.
I contacted customer services and was told it was a temporary glitch and to sign out, uninstall the app and re-install it. I did all of that and the problem persisted.
So I contacted customer services again, and this time I was told that because it’s a new account I will need to pay for the order in one go. To me, this totally defeats the purpose of having a Klarna account. I can pay in full using my debit card. The reason I signed up for klarna was to spread the cost.
I will be paying off the one order I was allowed to purchase and I will be closing down my account, and going back to Clearpay. I’ve had no issues with Clearpay.
In response to your reply, I feel that you have majorly ignored and/or glossed over the issue that it’s your customer services agents that are the main issue. Why was I being told multiple different things for the same issue I was having? Your response to this is further evidence to the main reason as to why I will be closing my account down. Inconsistency in your customer services responses. Why would I continue to put my trust, credit data, and finances into a company that have a very little in the way of resolution skills and knowledge?

I used Klarna for around 1yr then had trouble making payments i eventually settled the two late payments then was rejected ever since for just over 4yrs. One time only card rejected instore payment and Klarna card. Customer service are terrible and seem to think it’s to do with something on my credit file and ask for screenshots of my credit file which I send which there is nothing different on my credit file. I am told to apply again and the same thing. Another customer service representative asks for a screenshot of my credit file this went on for nearly two years. They don’t have a clue. It’s annoying because my credit rating is much better than it first was when I was using Klarna and don’t have a issue with zilch or getting a credit card or phone contracts or car finance but Klarna can’t explain why they refused to accept me. If it’s because of the late settled payments then say that. It was 4 years ago but stop asking for the same screenshots of my credit file

Used to be good, now it's just frustrating.

I have been using Klarna for approximately 3 months and at first I was really impressed with the whole experience of using klarna. I found the pay in 3 option to be especially useful. For some reason the UK version of Klarna doesn't tell you what your purchase power is but after 6 weeks or so my orders using pay in 3 was getting close to £2000 in total. So I decided to pay a lot of them off early and got my amount owing to around £1200 and now I owe just over £1000. I have never missed any payments and have a good credit score and I would have liked to think that I had built up a good relationship with klarna by paying on time or very often paying early. But for some reason Klarna now refuses me every time I try to use pay in 3 and I haven't been able to pay in 3 since when I had £2000 owing. So even though I've never missed any payments or paid late, and I've paid off approx £1000 in the last 2 weeks and have a good credit score and been a good customer to klarna. They don't seem to want me as a customer anymore. What's more frustrating is the fact that on the UK klarna doesn't display your purchasing power and the customer service advisors give worse responses to your questions that the AI bot does in the automated chat. The bot is pretty impressive to be fair but the human advisors are clueless.

Yet again, another BNPL service ruining their app

Genuinely so frustrated with the new look. It’s like you want people to not pay on time. I stopped using Zilch because they absolutely ruined their app with the way the calendar worked, over complicated things and just overall made the app worse. I really do enjoy Klarna, if you’re going to use BNPL, I’d suggest Klarna over Zilch 100%. I reached my maximum limit on Zilch, and I’ve always payed on time with Klarna and Zilch. Zilch just ruined their app, and now Klarna is doing the exact same thing. I seriously need to know who thought it was a good idea to change in the “pay multiple section” to say —days instead of just saying the date, why would you change that? Do I look like I want to work out when a payment is due through my calendar for over 20+ payments? Does it really look like I want to think “Should I pay this now or can it wait till I next get paid, oh wait due in 26 days? Let me just open my calendar and figure it out” In what world is — days better than just saying the date? It seems like you’re making the app more irritating to figure out when payments are due, is it the late fees you want? Once again, yet another app making it more inaccessible for the point of it! Did anyone actually complain about the old app? Probably not but I guarantee there’s hundreds that are just as annoyed as me at this “new look”. Every time I see an app do a “new look” I don’t think I’ve once ever thought it’s better or easier to use. It might look cleaner but that doesn’t make sense. I beg, bring the dates back, no one needs days, days are okay for maybe 6 days, but even then just say the date! You’re telling me days so I can work out the date, JUST TELL ME THE DATE DD/MM/YYYY. You changed the app slightly a couple months ago and I didn’t think it was too bad but again, you’ve done a complete 180! I hope you go the way Zilch went and just change it back!

Klarna is fantastic, but not enjoying the Autopay

I’ve used Klarna for quite some time now. It’s been an absolute life saver around the Christmas period where I can spread the cost and just make things that little bit more affordable. HOWEVER, payments always used to come out on the same date as purchased on each day of the month, until recently. Now there’s “autopay” in place where it comes out every 30 days and it’s definitely not making things easier for me anymore. I get paid on the same day every month, which made it easier to plan what I could spend and budget, now I have to worry about getting a payment in which no longer falls on a payday. I wished this was optional, and it’s definitely off putting to want to use in the future.

One of the best apps out there

In my opinion this is a must have shopping app. If you want something that's really expensive but you don't want to pay the whole price straight away then this app allows you to buy something on an instalment process over a 3 month period....
For example if something cost £300 and you buy this using Klarna, your first initial payment will be £100 which will be taken from your bank straight away.
The next two payments come out monthly but there is some wiggle room and they will allow you to be slightly flexible should an emergency happen.
Also the Support Team is spot-on and if you have issues they will help you out.

Returned Christmas jumper

I would never use this company again I bought a Christmas jumper. It was supposed to have arrived on the 17th December. Unfortunately it arrived very very late past Christmas. It was then in the sale. I contacted them and they said give it a family member or a friend. I explained again it was far too late to use for Christmas. Asked would they consider letting me have it for sale price. The answer was no. They said that they would deduct 2 usd off the bill. Rather than me return it. I said that was unacceptable. Then they said 4 usd. I said no thanks sbd would be returning it. I packaged up the item and returned to the address on the parcel. Sent it recorddd delivery and obtained proof of purchase. They since informed me that was the wrong address. Too late I had sent it. Now I keep getting a bill fir the jumper. Despite several emails to them explaining his situation. I am also being charged interest of the amount owed!!! Would never use this company again

I can’t get into my account or the app

Hi Klarna I’ve tried contacting you I had the app on my phone i ordered something and made a few payments one day the app wouldn’t let me sign in it ask to take me to a browser then when I click continue it is constantly saying there’s an error and can’t take me to Klarna to try again later this has been going on for weeks about 3/4 weeks I have to go to google to sign in and even then it doesn’t have everything that is on the actual app I’ve tried deleting the app several times over weeks and reinstalling and nothing it still doing the same thing I cannot talk to customer services because you have to do it through the app which I cannot get into and ontop of that i got a notification this morning saying my Klarna card was removed from my apple wallet please help I have tried everything for about a month nearly every day and nothing is working I have one payment left I’m worried about that and that it’s been removed from my apple wallet and I don’t want to lose my account please again get back to me with help or something

From good to poor to terrible

When Klarna first smashed onto the scene it was genre busting. It was super useful, empowered those of us with less than stellar credit rating to get the stuff we needed, had a great app, and was generally a life saver towards the end of a pay cycle.
However… it has got worse and worse and worse with every update and every change to its service.
With every update they have moved features, changed the layout, EOLed useful items to the point where what they are calling “the best it has ever been” is now an unusable, overly complicated mess.
Someone in the UX department needs to read up on usability heuristics because this thing breaks them all. Hiding features, massive noise to signal, poor learn ability AND poor usability - it’s dire.
And now they’re moving to FCA regulation my wife has had her card taken off her and I’ve got to reapply - spending power has vanished from the app for both of us, essentially crippling the service.
Also, I bought an interest free item on Klarna. Not through the app, not using my Klarna card, and it wiped out my spending power to zero. No warning that this would happen - the interest free service isn’t linked to my Klarna card - i just assumed it was an interest free service offered by Klarna line v12. Wouldn’t have done it if I’d known.

Great until…

I used to love Klarna, paid everything on time or in full. However, since a few months ago I can no longer use any of Klarna’s pay in 3 or in 30 days. Only in full which defeats the whole point. I don’t know what my limit is with the pay in 3 or 30 days, it just says no matter what the amount, it’s too high ( I tried with a £100 purchase and a £50 purchase. Both declined)
The idea is brilliant but the recent updates have made it unusable, this is more the way the company does their checks rather than the app. Yes I have outstanding credit cards but I never paid late, always on time and this goes for Klarna. Rather than looking at the history of the client with the company they have a unclear vetting process each time. Disappointing.

App is unreliable but Klarna itself is great

No issues with Klarna as a concept, makes budgeting for bigger items easier and works well with so many website. I do have issues with the app though. It periodically crashes and fails when trying to make payments resulting in me having to use the desktop site. Usually have to uninstall and reinstall app but this time it’s not worked which is annoying. Also they’ve update the app recently so it’s a lot more clunky and too much visually on the page, you have to search for your payments a bit. Also your most recent purchases are at the top, so I mistakenly paid off recent purchases instead of historic ones which again was annoying. I I’d been used to the purchase that needed paying soonest being at the top which made sense as it needed attention first. So Klarna is great but the app needs better maintenance.

Never got my purchase.

I found a mattress topper and selected the size and everything and when I tried to pay (for some reason) I was sent to pay thru Klarna instead of the site I tried to buy it from. It was ok as the order and name of the store was there. I got the confirmation email, but I didn’t get a date I should expect the product, and I got the app to track my order. After 3 days I didn’t get any updates about my order as it was still processing (the app asked to get regular access to my email account and use my personal data that this involves). I didn’t want it to get more access to any of my information, so I couldn’t see where my product was. The app already has a lot of my personal info. I got to chat with someone on the chat and she said to contact the store. I PAYED THRU KLARNA, NOT THE OTHER STORE. Now I don’t have a topper nor the £129 .. thank you Klarna !!! I hope I will get the money back 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻.
Update: the payment didn’t go thru so I went on chat to ask for my info to be removed and account closed. I just got and email saying they will keep my information as I didn’t pay in full for my order😡😡 this is the biggest scam ever!! Stay away from this app!!! It’s nothing but trouble !!!

Ridiculous Honestly

Heard loads of fantastic reviews about the app and gave it a try, setting up was very simple and straight forward however once making a purchase with the app has given me nothing but problems and headaches. The company voided the payment and I’ve been on to customer service a few times now regarding a refund or wondering where the money has went to as it was removed from my account, all I was told was they couldn’t contact the bank, so I had to contact the bank for the bank to say it’s Klarna’s issue and Klarna needs to contact my bank, so now I’m down over 110 pound and all I’ve been told is that it will take 5-7 days to return? Bank can’t touch it as Klarna has it and Klarna is refusing to speed things up, tbh I’m not happy at all and I don’t think I’ll be using the app again. Disappointing really, love the idea but not how it’s carried out.

Could be great.

Overall shopping experience is very good no issues there, be great experience if there would be more retailers available, but I’m pretty sure it’s s coming. The bad things are - there's no way to see what is your limit to spend, apparently there isn't one, but when you look online Klarna states that there is and kinda guides you how to find it, but when you look for it you cant find anything, so called option does not exist, then you move to customer support, if you have any questions regards anything but your purchases, your done, there are some options given to choose from and if none off them are what you need help with and you probably will, there’s no way to contact customer support neither on the app neither on the website so you getting nowhere, there's no option given like - Other to be able select it and get to customer support to discuss what ever you need assistance with, basically very limited customer support available :/

Credit is unreliable and inconsistent

Most people are not actually given a credit limit. I spoke with customer services and with each credit purchase an ‘algorithm’ chooses whether or not you can make the purchase.
This sounds okay but I found it to be inconveniently inconsistent. They claim at first your limit will be lower until you make some repayments, I’m assuming to gain trust. So I did this, I completely paid of all outstanding balances early assuming this would reset my limit and possible give me a higher limit. I then went to make a repeat purchase from the same vendor as before within a few £ of previous credit purchases and they we’re denied.
As most people use credit spending in emergency’s having a service you don’t know you’ll be able to actually get at the point of use leaves me having to rate this very low. If they didn’t have a nice easy to use UI I would of rated it 1 star.

Terrible

Been using Klarna for over a year now when my credit wasn’t that great, when I first started using it it was fantastic (5 stars) I was consistently using Klarna on a monthly basis and always paid on time for every payment, a few months ago I settled all my payments early and then weeks later when I tried to use Klarna again I was refused due to my credit score. This is odd because when I first set up over a year ago my credit score was probably about 100 points less than what it is now, it was a fair rating and now my credit score is a good rating. Customer service is beyond terrible including the specialist team who seem to have the same answer every time I try to figure out why I cannot use it any more “please contact transunion to make sure my details match with their records” my details haven’t changed in the last 10 years and certainly haven’t changed since using Klarna

Disappointed

I loved Klarna’s flexibility the freedom to borrow till your next pay day worked super, however this isn’t the case. After clearing all borrowed, my borrowing power never increased at all. Still till this day I have cleared the lot and nothing is available. Contacted customer support advised everyone’s been decreased and to wait 72Hrs, none of which makes sense to me personally. I strongly believe people should be judged on there repaying history with a company not a credit score you haven’t got if you’ve never had credit in the first place. Meaning if I’ve never had credit with anyone before how would I have a good credit-score if there’s no record of my history in the beginning. I was hoping my time being a customer with Klarna they’d have reviewed my history and reported accordingly to the credit agency’s but nothings been documented. It feels as tho after being a loyal customer in reward I’ve been f*Over at the most important time of the year. I’m not an anger person nor do I hold any grudges towards Klarna as they did work in my favour however a bit of positive feedback of what kind of customer I was to my credit reference agency would have been much appreciated

Awesome app

Really easy to use and set up, choice to spread the cost or wait 30days, which gives you chance to get something you need right away even if you haven’t got the funds until a later date. Can pay early too. So flexible. I absaloutely love using this service. It’s stress free and helped me get things that I needed or wanted over the months whether it’s gifts or something that I needed at that moment resent time. I recommend this to anyone and everyone who sometimes like to buy and try the product out first or someone who needs something and didn’t get paid until a couple. Days later. It’s easy manageable and can view anytime at leisure so you can keep an eye on what your spending. ☺️

Disgraceful

There has been an issue with the app for months now where I go to make a payment, can see my saved cards to make payments but I am unable to select them and make the actual payment. I have been told several times now that this is a known, ongoing issue with the app and yet months later, it still hasn’t been resolved. I have also tried via mobile browser and it’s the same.
For one purchase, I was given the Klarna bank details to make payment that way along with a reference number to add to the transfer so it could be identified and when it was still showing as unpaid on my account two weeks later I queried it and was told it was their fault as they had given me the wrong reference number and it would be resolved. Still waiting on it being resolved weeks later.
If I could give a no star rating I would. I’m worried about purchases I’ve made via Klarna having an impact on my credit rating through no fault of my own. To have such a big issue ongoing with making payments, that Klarna know about, is disgraceful.

SO STUPID!

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve only used this once before and it worked fine so I thought I’d give it another go and get my Asda shopping through klarna. I normally use zilch but I can’t keep up to the payments being every 2 weeks so I thought with klarna being every 30 days it would make it a lot easier for me. NOPE! I tried to get my Asda shopping and they’ve taken the first payment which was over £30 which was the last of my money off me and didn’t give me the one time card to put my order through. I’ve contacted customer service and they’ve said it takes 7 days to get refunded when the order doesn’t go through. That shopping had all my baby’s nappies, food, baby wipes, snacks that I now don’t have the money to buy because they’ve taken it without letting me order. I’m now going to have to starve myself so I can buy my daughter the things she needs until I get the money back from klarna in a week! DO NOT USE THIS APP UNLESS YOUR RICK ENOUGH TO LOOSE MONEY FOR A WEEK

Suddenly unable to pay using Klarna

I have used Klarna successfully for purchases ranging from £20-£200 from various outlets online for the past two years. I never had any issues, was never late in paying - in fact I was ALWAYS paying earlier than the date specified. I went to place in order online as usual and opted to pay using Klarna when a message popped up saying ‘due to my credit history I was unable to proceed with paying via Klarna’. I thought this must be a mistake.. my credit history is fine, I haven’t recently taken out any new credit or recently got any sudden bad credit… nothing had changed, yet Klarna have suddenly decided I am
No longer eligible to shop and pay with them anymore. I’ve tried multiple times presuming it’s just a blip on their part to no avail! Really disappointed… won’t be recommending Klarna anymore to friends/family. Never had any issues like this with other buy now pay later companies..literally changed their mind about me overnight!

One thing, one thing that happened today, I cancelled my bank cards as I had my wallet stolen (in fairness I didn’t check on here to see if there was a freeze option or away to let someone know my predicament) and I didn’t think in all all honesty or give my Klarna payments a second thought!
I did this morning at 7am when I got a notification saying I’d missed my payment. I rectified this immediately and payed the outstanding payment only to get a text message this afternoon saying I hadn’t payed! Now I know it takes time for a payment to go though but this caused worry, I checked the app again and it said I was all up to date. So if it knows I’m up to date why am I getting texts saying to the contrary ?
I guess this is actually a question to (if anyone does!) the person/s reading these - why did this happen and will it affect my credit score as missed payment or a default etc?
This could just as easily been a computer glitch, who knows?
Other than that little rant and it hasn’t effected my credit score, I love the convenient and money saving service.

Great help when money is tight!

I absolutely love this App! Initially didn’t think it would work or it would scam you taking more money etc. As recently there’s scammers left right and centre!
But this turned out to be a great help when you need/want stuff but money is tight! Also, so many different places that Klarna can help with the payment! Few shops not accepting it, but hopefully Klarna will get acceptable in more and more places with time!
Even with bad credit score, Klarna gives you a credit of trust! As long as you pay on time, the trust grows!
Would highly recommend. Great customer service as well and quick responses!

Unable to pay

So I downloaded the app so I could buy things and pay gradually. To help towards paying off a credit card and also due to being on very little funds. But apparently, I have such poor credit that I can’t pay for absolutely ANYTHING via the app. Which I find odd, seeing as I don’t have THAT poor a credit. I know people in 10s of thousands of debt, people who are declaring bankruptcy, people who have to go through their partners to get on mobile contracts. But yet, they are using Klarna themselves. How?? How are they able to buy the new Xbox and PlayStation via Klarna when I can’t even buy a build a bear?? Then when I requested that Klarna delete my account, they don’t even ask why. They just ask how they can “assist” me. Very poor customer service. So only 1 star as I can’t select zero stars.

Why Pay Interest when you can use Klarna.

I use Klarna mostly to purchase relatively expensive items. Often I can find these items with good sales discounts offered but not necessarily when payment in full at purchase is not an attractive proposition in terms of my cash flow. This when Klarna really works because, by offering the opportunity to pay in three monthly payments interest free, this often provides the means to benefit from the offer price without any inconvenient strain on available cash. Most of my purchased item to date has been on good quality shoes and footwear for myself and my wife from my go to company. I feel it’s important to not skimp on footwear, and not to slavishly follow every trend in fashion. This helps me to look after my feet by wearing good quality and durable footwear. Klarna has given me the capability to take best advantage of promotions and sales.

Klarna changed my life!

For years I was trapped in cycles of debt where when significant annual events such as Christmas, birthdays, buying school uniform would mean I had to use credit cards or overdrafts to be able to get through the month and It would take me the rest of the year paying it and the interest back. Last Christmas I used Klarna, which not only meant I could take advantage of things such the Black Friday deals as I had access to funds when they happened, but it meant I could spread the cost of Christmas over 3 months. It was genuinely life changing. For the first time in years, I have been able to end the cycle of debt I was in. Since then, if there’s been an unexpected expense or any of those annual financial stress points, Klarna has helped me to budget. And whilst that is all very worthy and the situation might not apply to others — on top of that, the range of shops seems limitless so I’ve always been able to find the stores I need. This is a genuine thank you to those at Klarna - you changed my life!

Awful customer service

I downloaded the app as it was recommended to me by a company that I wanted to use. Set up was quick and easy and I was ready to place my order, or so I thought! I immediately encountered problems. The app couldn’t verify my details. I tried a couple of times. I even double checked and put a space in my postcode so it matched my bank record. I got an email from the company to say they had received my order but payment was pending. I told them what happened and they said it was common with Klarna and advised me to get in touch with them. I contacted my bank who confirmed they had received no pending payment from Klarna or the company. I tried to get in contact with Klarna but it seems there is no option to do that unless you have made a purchase. I hadn’t. I checked the help section and nothing.
I don’t really know what else to do but as far as this app is concerned, it’s unfit for purpose and pointless trying, it seems like they won’t help you unless you’ve spent money through them and looking through some of these reviews, you might still get stuck when you do!

Payment issue

The App itself is brilliant and it give’s you the chance to try before you buy but I have issues with paying my balances off every order that I place.
I always have money in the account which is saved to the app but I always have trouble paying on the app, I have to log onto the website and pay that way, and the problem never gets fixed even when I’ve talked to customer services.
They always tell me to download the latest version which I’ve already done.
It would be nice to have this problem fixed as it is a pain, I think I’ve paid and then get an email to say the purchase is outstanding!

Great service and very helpful

I’m very impressed with the service they have provided me of the last year.
They consistently remind me when payments are due via the app and email, so I always remember to have the funds ready.
When ever I’ve had a question or been worried about something, they have always been very helpful.
For example, a payment was due by the 31st but I set up autopay and that says it will take payment on the 1st, so I was left thinking...
Ok so am I going to miss my payment schedule then, with payment being due the 31st or is it going to take two months in one month, to bring it up to date?..
Both of which would of been annoying as I had the funds available to make the payment, but didn’t want to have to pay two months in one just for the piece of mind, of paying by direct debit.
Thankfully Shereen helped me with all of this and informed me the date I was given for payment being taken, is the date when the payment for the 31st will be processed.
Shereen was very polite and quick to answer my questions.
I’ve never had to get something refunded tho, so can’t comment on that part of the service.
For all this I’m rating them 5 stars, because from my experience, it’s been rare to find a helpful company like this that delivers what they promise...
As well as going out there way to make sure your remember your payments so don’t go overdrawn.

Amazing when it actually works.

I’ve been using klarna for a little bit over a year and overall I’m quite pleased. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work and no one seems to know why... in March 2020 it stopped working in one of my most purchased from online retailers.
It stopped working ONLY on this specific retailer but I still contacted klarna to check if I was doing something wrong or if there was any problem with my account.
I only got that copy/paste usual answer about the algorithm deciding and to try to pay for a lower amount. Didn’t work.
I wasn’t too upset because it still worked on all the other retailers so it wasn’t me...
Today it happened again, on another of my most purchased online retailers and again I contacted klarna to check what was happening.
Again no answer and I’m pretty sure whoever was “helping me “ wasn’t even reading my question as the answers made no sense!
I would like to point out that I like to use klarna especially during lockdown for the pay later option for clothes and shoes. I can try things at home, send back what I don’t want and pay what I keep.
I use pay in 3 for bigger purchases but ONLY when I have the money to cover for the entire purchase. I have never missed or had a late payment so there would be no reason for not approving a £60 purchase!
I haven’t moved house or changed details for the last 4 years so... is there any answer to my question?

And how don’t I have a klarna account linked to this email?! This is my only email!

Was a Great easy to use app previously but has been ruined recently

The app used to give a very quick and easy insight into purchases and what payments were coming up and was extremely user friendly.
For some reasons the devs have removed a lot of this simple functionality and ease of use and the app has become really almost pointless.
I now have to search through purchases to find out the next date of payment rather than it being evident on all my currently live plans as it used to be.
This last couple of updates have ruined the functionality and user friendly usage completely. Please please reinstate the older UI style for purchases and plans that are still live so it can be seen with one click/touch what’s upcoming and left to pay etc

Useful and gets results, particularly for refunds

I rarely write a review but felt I had to in this case. I love the the Klarna app and being able to see and manage my purchases and payments with ease. I think their returns function which allows you to pause payments whilst returns are being processed is a brilliant idea. What has impressed me most though was their help in getting a refund from a particular retailer that I ordered from but for which goods never arrived, yet payment was taken for. I tried all avenues to contact said retailer for months (of which there were few and totally useless as you couldn’t speak to a human being direct. It was all chatbot so their stock answers didn’t help). I eventually realised I could raise an issue through Klarna. I didn’t expect any results as months had passed and it was outside of returns period for the retailer (it was lockdown so I had given the retailer time to get the goods to me before pursuing) yet I got a full refund processed for me via Klarna very quickly. Well done Klarna! Given the option, I always pay through Klarna now as I feel my purchases are more protected, as well as being able to benefit from all the useful features of its app.

LOVE Klarna but app needs a few changes!

I absolutely love Klarna and your company! It’s such an easy process buying through you. It’s helped me get the more expensive things without having to save. I think what you offer is amazing! Your app does need some tweaking though!
So firstly and most annoyingly. When I’m on a website through your site, when I click on a product I can’t click back to the list. I have to go to the menu again and search what I was looking at the look through the list again to where I’d got to! If I press the back button it takes me back to your home page! I’d then have to look up the company again and go through it all again! It’s very annoying and not enjoyable!
Also you need a “where to shop next/browse by store” button on your home page. You have to flick through those icons at the bottom to find your “where to shop next” tab. That’s annoying! When your on your list of companies, if you click on one then decide you don’t want that one. When you press back it takes you to your home page instead of back to the list where you were. So you have to go through the whole process again! Very frustrating!
If these little things were fixed, this would probably be my most used/preferred site!!

Worst customer service ever!

If I could give this app 0 stars then I would in a heartbeat. The way the app functions is nowhere near as good as Laybuy and Clearpay and the customer service is absolutely the worst I have ever received in any company. The customer service team are rude, ignorant and straight up LIE TO YOU. They don’t even try to go above and beyond for you, they do the bare minimum and then will leave the conversation halfway through your query. Still going back and forth with them now over a mistake THEY MADE and still yet to get an apology. I tried to make a complaint about another customer service correspondent and the one that I was speaking to told me that she would do it internally and I would receive an email about it which still has not happened and this is a serious complaint issue too. You may have a good experience with them but looking at other reviews here a lot of people are going through even worse than I have. Take Laybuy or Clearpay over Klarna ANYDAY OF THE WEEK; never had 1 single problem with Laybuy or Clearpay and I’ve been using them for longer than Klarna. Train your customer service team to at least not be straight up RUDE.

Useless app - The Shopping tab has disappeared!

Downloaded this yesterday. I was happy to look for the healthy & beauty merchant It works!. The Shopping tab has disappeared from the UK version of the app!! The UK version of the website still has it, but the merchant doesn’t show up when typing it on the search bar. I contacted customer service through the chat, and the only topic to choose is previous purchases. I was told that the fact the Shopping tab is not appearing on the UK version of the app is because they are under maintenance, and to check back tomorrow. Awful.

To Bruce the developer who gave me a response below saying I can still use the Klarna website to look for the merchant I need to buy from. No, that’s not true. The Shopping tab is still on the website so there is a search bar where you can introduce the merchant’s name. But nothing comes up, being an international company! However, the merchant does appear on the US version of the website and app!

Not secure shouldn’t be in the app store

Not had much luck with this app connecting to the stores like it’s meant to bit hit and miss every time you want to order something you have to put your details in on the shop the sometimes it will give you the option to use Klarna sometimes it won’t it’s a great way for everywhere to have your details now for the app there’s not really away to sign in you have to put your email in the click send a link and this is every time you use the app not sure this is very secure They are just offering the same deals the sites are but through them hence costing you more that’s how there making there money so if I was you I wouldn’t bother wasting your time this app is not secure and shouldn’t be in the App Store

Ok so you have said you don’t make any money from the transaction then how do you and you wouldn’t exist if you weren’t making money somewhere, but like I said the biggest issue is how insecure it all is, logging on via a link you send to an email address that really needs to be changed that’s the worst form of signing in I can think of. Please I would love a response regarding this.

Nice app

I have been using Klarna since 2017 only for ASOS shopping, recently found out I can use it in other shops as well and i have never had any issues. Downloaded the app to keep taps on my payment and can also pay ahead of the schedule dates, which is great by the way. Reading the negative comments is confusing and worrisome too. Is this has something to do with taking a large amount of credit? Cause I recently made a large amount of purchase and I was given a credit of £600 “which I don’t want by the way” I just want to pay back the amount for the item I bought only and nothing more! Which is been sliced within 12months. I hope I don’t have to come back and write negative comments about my experience for this large purchase!

Stealing money for orders you have not verified by entering card details with supplier

I’m having to download the App, because Klarna has saved my card details, and allowed a supplier (large retailer), to place an order using my details during covid-19, and debit my card using Klarna. All of this has been done by the retailer (JD sports), because they are trying to force sales with customers. Klarna, is clearly untrustworthy and I won’t be using them again to make purchases, I will stick to clear pay, who are so desperate that they essentially allow companies to do fraud and steal from customers. If Klarna required more verification from the customer before allowing sales and purchases to go through, I won’t not be prevented from using them ever again, but since they’re unscrupulous like most other retailers, I have no choice.
Both companies have disgusted me, and are a waste of time, I didn’t have to use either, and they’ve thrown the opportunity customers give them to flourish back in customers faces by being treacherous and borderline desperate. This is not how you retain and build trust with people, it’s how you become known as a trashy scam.

Careful with your money

I have been scam from a company that take payment thru Klarna and it took so long for them resolve the issue, they haven’t took my matter seriously, they started the process of investigation very late after I have bring it to their attention, nobody knew that the dispute team are doing or solving as I had to explain over 20 agents I have spoken during this process the whole story becAuse it would have not been explain in the system so this process would go quicker. After weeks of waiting and solving this dispute they send me an email explaining that the refund process has started and to wait 5 days to arrive, TO JUST find out in the 5th day that they refunded didn’t work from their system without anyone contacting me at least to let me know , and that I have to wait some more to solve this problem now!!!! AS IF COULD GO ANY WORSE and the issue is that nobody is contacting you to let they know what’s happening with your money !!! Absolute worst app I could ever been dealt with !

DO NOT USE KLARNA! Terrible app,terrible customer service, terrible company

Set up via Apple. Spent ages trying to work out their stupid app, finally all sorted and they took a payment on the agreed day of the month. Next month comes, they don’t take the money. I contact them, don’t care about the charge but do care about the impact this has on my credit rating. Pay them extra. Check and make sure I set it up properly on the monthly thing - all set up. Days go by and no response from them - surprise, surprise. Try emailing, nothing. The app says the payment is due on at the end of the month, but also says they won’t take it till the first of the following month - very confusing. After reading some things in the news and other reviews it would seem Klarna are good at doing this and letting honest people who think they’re paying, not pay and be charged. Great way to make a few extra quid for them hey. Terrible company. Never again. The app is rubbish, I always have to reset it up on my thumb print and it didn’t take the direct debit request. Dangerously bad for your credit rating. So so cross.
