This starts of as a fun game with plenty to do and a fast pace with reasonable economics.
However, when you get much past level 12, the economics are terrible: unless you spent a lot of real money, you cannot progress at an enjoyable pace.
Lots of money for the developers, much less enjoyment for the players.
Bottom line: Don’t start this game unless you have money to burn.

Good but expensive.

I’ve completed the main game and am now in the process of completing one of the background games. I’ve really enjoyed the game but have spent several hundred pounds on it and once I’m finished am hoping that you have a new game to transfer all the supplies I’ve acquired to or I’ll feel that you I’ve wasted some of what I’ve spent.
In your response to a previous review, you state that the game does not have to be rushed but if that were true, you would make no profit from it. Wanting to progress in the game is what makes gamers spend money and it’s an irritating ploy f the developers that energy requirements double toward the end of the game- the level I’m currently on has 6 cable car masts which need restoring in 2 stages with ridiculous amounts of supplies ie 9 glue per mast!
You would attract more players if you were less greedy

Love this
I love playing on this but I’m disappointed. I’ve played for months reached a high level and for the second time its stopped loading. Don’t think I can start again.UPDATE..What ever was wrong has been sort wish I’d contacted server last time.Very pleased that I can carry on playing.

Killing animals
This game requires you to kill animals, which I was not aware of and do not support. If I was aware of this I wouldn’t have downloaded this game. Please rethink this developers.

Super cool game
I absolutely love this game, firstly I love the fact that there is so many ways and opportunities to earn energy it’s not inundated with adverts ... for a free game this has got to be the best, all ages will enjoy this I think.. I’m 48 n loving it 🥰
I read a lot of players reviews complaining that you need to buy things to move forward. I haven’t bought a single thing ... just learn to have patience, people want everything right here right now but life is not like that.

Amazing game!
I would recommend this game to everyone who love to create their own little world and enjoy playing strategic types of games. Obviously, if you want to play fast you will need to spend money on it but I guess it’s nice to wait and to see the development you created.

Best game of this type I’ve played
I’ve played a few games similar to this and Klondike is by far my favourite, for three reasons. One, unlimited storage of crops and other items - you don’t end up constantly playing frustrating games of harvesting one thing, making one thing, selling other things to make room etc. Two, no neighbours/trading, I prefer to make and find everything myself and progress at my own speed. Three, the ongoing storyline and regular events make it always interesting, unlike other games where you just have your farm and that’s it and soon get bored. I see a lot of people on here complaining about energy, it’s true you can only play a few minutes at a time but this is how this game works, you dip in and out during the day. I have never spent real money on Klondike and I’m level 47 after playing for four months or so.

Quickest Ever Game Sessions
Average daily game time 2 - 3 mins each session. As you only receive 51 energy points at a time, and it can take 90 energy points to remove a tree, it’s easy to see why this game is over very quickly. Such a shame. Still it gives you more time to play more entertaining, and achievable games...every cloud.

Had this game since before Christmas and have mostly enjoyed completing if I had to moan about something it would be have to be that the levels are taking longer and longer to complete but that’s ok. Worth playing

Keeps crashing!
Was a fairly good game, different to others and quite interesting challenges if you want something to pass time now and then. But since latest update it just crashes after loading up and one action is taken - has cost me energy and gems from completing tasks. One star as can no longer play!

Too many hoops.....
I have been playing this game for a while and spent a small fortune on it. I am now at the point of giving up. It takes ages to collect the items to progress in the game. I am in a position now where I have accumulated lots of coins but can do nothing with them. At the same time, I need nails but to make them one needs a hammer. Hammers can only be obtained via the trading board and then only occasionally. So you just have to clear a space on the trading board on the off chance that the tools trade appears. Very irritating.
As you progress through the game items become increasingly difficult and expensive to gather. This is not a good idea bearing in mind that in order for people to carry on playing the game they need to be engaged. Having just spent many emeralds in building a hot air balloon only to realise that I was only halfway through the process was infuriating.
Dear developer, please allow the coins to be used to purchase items. I have accumulated 92k coins and they appear to be useless. Of course, if I could buy emeralds with them.......

Too slow.
This is a great strategic game but way too slow. It uses ridiculous amounts of energy to clear trees etc. I’m just not willing to sink the kind of money you are expecting us to pay in a game like this. If you made it cheaper then I might. Sadly I will have to give up a game I really enjoy because it’s impossible to get anywhere. May I suggest making it a lot less energy to do basic things clearing space? I’m sure you’d make a lot more from this if you did that.

Great game but ...
Absolutely love this game. Have been playing it for a few weeks. However, the amount of money one needs to spend to get any reasonable play is atrocious. I have already spent far more than I wanted to and, as much as I love the game, will be deleting it to stay out of trouble! Shame developers have to be so greedy.
Update: Just received patronising response from developer ... Absolute rubbish and they know it! Look at all the reviews you are getting (the ones that are not yours). They are all consistent in their message. It is not possible to get any good gameplay without paying ridiculous amounts of money. Daylight robbery.

Grabbing, greedy, ridiculous
Yeah we all know that the point of producing the games (for the developers at least) is to make bucket loads of money but this game absolutely is the most money-grabbing game I have ever played. It’s practically impossible to play for more than 5 minute bursts without coughing up large sums of cash to buy energy. You should take a lesson from HayDay (not that this game is anywhere near as technically and aesthetically good) and at least give the player a little enjoyment prior to lunging at their wallets. Delete!!!

Time to quit unfortunately
Love love love this game, but I cannot go any further. I have tried all sorts of strategies to save up energy to complete tasks etc. Save energy over a week and use it all just clearing trees and shrubs in less than 15 minutes. Right now I have no resources to make the things I need to fill orders, to kill time while waiting for lives. I give up. Takes too long to get energy and it is used way to quick. Overnight it tops up to a certain level, but that is not even enough to chop one tree down.
Had enough. Shame because I really like the idea. Will find another game to enjoy.

In the end a disappointment
The developers of this game should take a leaf out of King’s book. The cooldown timers on Legends of Solgard for example are set perfectly. You can log in a couple of times daily and get a good 2 hours of gameplay without having to spend any money.
Klondike however... you log in having left the game overnight, clear 2 trees and a rock and you’re out of energy again. 10mins gameplay at best. Awful. Impossible to make any progress or headway unless you spend money. Pay to win unfortunately.

Emerald Pack paid for but not received
Just purchased the Emerald Sale Pack - received notification of the payment being made but not received the pack - nice one!! I know it was only 99p but if that happens to all players it’s a nice little earner. Paid paypal so will sort it with them if all else fails.

Can only play for 90 seconds per hour
I’m only on my third week of playing Klondike and I’m fed up. I log in every hour or two, collect things, chop down half a tree and log off again after a minute or so and wait for a few hours. I haven’t spent any money yet, because the comments from users say that even spending real money is pointless. So I’ll probably be uninstalling it shortly - I’m not going to waste my time on a game where you run out of ability to do anything after three weeks.

Love it but just takes too long
I enjoy the game but it’s so slow... I’m so frustrated trying to earn energy to actually complete things it’s annoying. Even the fact that after you move to a new location the old one closes?! Why?! Since when if you explore something and you leave you can never go back 🤷🏽♀️ but if you sit waiting to collect resources from there you will never leave as it takes sooooo long. I refuse to spend money on a game but it’s clear that’s all the developers want you to do

Money pit
DO NOT DOWNLOAD - the developers ignore all comments about how you cannot progress without spending money on energy and gems by saying they are making it challenging and interesting so you don’t get bored. THEY ARE LYING!
It’s a tragedy because the concept is superb but - you need 6 energy to remove a grass bundle - there are vast amounts - and unless you move them, you cannot progress. 90 energy points to get coal/granite/ice - again you cannot progress unless you move them.
Now you can get 56 energy points a day for free, them a maximum of 43 for the sweetshop - if you win - and that totals 99 energy every five hours. So with that you can move a boulder and a couple of grass bundles.
MOVING ON TO ‘JUST STAY AT HOME STATION AND COMPLETE THE BOARD - yeah but how can you when you need items from the other areas - like wood - 80 energy for about 5 pieces- then you need a saw - only get that if you complete a task - can’t complete task because need a saw.
DO NOT GET SUCKED INTO THIS - it’s a cash cow for greedy developers who could make it less energy sapping and still make money. Shame on you for exploiting kids with this game.

Killing Wild Animals
No-one else seems to have a problem with it so it must just be me but I find the killing of the wild animals to get steaks really distasteful. Far better in Hay Day where you can collect the produce needed but nothing needs to be lined up down the barrel of a shotgun and killed. Could you not just collect the steaks (like the eggs) and the animal disappears? The developers are probably missing out on huge numbers of players who would also be put off by the animal killing strategy. I know it’s only a game but I’m stuck now because I hated having to kill the bear and now I don’t want to be having to kill the deer to progress. Maybe the developers could check how many stopped playing the game when the first bear had to be killed and again when the deers needed to be shot. Other than that it’s a really good game although the energy/use ratio is too high.
1.3.2019 - The last video I’ve had to watch called Scatter Slots is disgusting and unless you are confirming all your players are over 18 it has no place in a ‘family’ game. Are you really so desperate for advertising revenue that you have thrown your morals in the bin. Have the common decency to take it down or raise the age at which you can play this game to 18.

I wish I could play this game
I must say this is a great conception for a game. However in order to play it you have to be a millionaire. Otherwise you can play for maybe 30 seconds and then you are out of energy, out of resources and out of temper. Of course if you happen to have several hundred pounds to waste you may be able to play for an hour or even two, but most normal people don’t have that kind of money. The three stars are for the basic idea, but sadly I won’t be able to play any more because it is too frustrating. I play games for enjoyment.

Getting annoyed
I’ve read the reviews, and responses to the reviews from developers about it being hard.... that’s not a problem as all games should get more challenging as you level up.
But I chop down half a tree and my energy is all gone; I literally wait an hour to play and then get to do one item/bush/rock and energy is completely zapped.
It was the most enjoyable game and was obsessed with it to begin with, when I could do quite a bit each time I played it. Now I have only one quest and always zero energy so I can’t complete it. Fed up with it now. Please can you at least make the energy requirements lower? As now I’m struggling to find reason to continue playing.

Addictive and rich
Started playing as a light alternative to WoW as time constraints limit play to commuting. Really rich world and satisfying storyline. Nice dailies too.
My only gripe is that energy is capped too low so unless you want to spend a lot of money on emeralds, storyline progress can be frustratingly low.
I appreciate the developers need to make money, but it would be great if there was an option to buy a subscription and have more open gameplay rather like WoW. But for that, this would be a five-star game!

Great Game, Very Interesting but difficult to carry on because you run out of energy so quickly. While other games try their best to let you addicted and stick with the game, this game discourage you to carry on playing because of low energy

Fantastic money pit
This is a great game of strategy....for the developer. How to make a great game that lures people in but is designed to require lots of money spent to achieve any targets. My recommendation is unless you are willing to spend at least £4/day don’t start this game. If you don’t mind taking a week to do the most simple of tasks because it takes that long to gain the energy required then knock yourself out.
I just spent ANOTHER £4 clearing a pile of rocks and grass I don’t need in order to get NOWHERE. I have spent over £100 on this game and this is not normal for me. I don’t spend money in apps like this and I am disappointed in myself for this last purchase having promised myself I would not spend any more on this ridiculously impossible game. I am going to delete the game and say shame on the developers for their merciless strategy. They have designed something that is psychologically compelling with an insidious money making motive. If this is the strategic game they say it is then let’s see them take away the over priced cheats in the form of emeralds and strip it back to something more honest. I have been as strategic as I can and still could not progress without paying.

Deleted the game.... after getting annoyed at not being able to create enough energy to move forward and looking at feedback ALOT in the same boat and developers aren’t listening ...
As developer say it is a a STRATEGY game... 😴😴😴😴..... There is strategy and then there is their strategy.
WELL, their only strategy is to make it so frustrating and therefore boring, you will spend £££££££ to get to next level, which are as most games, RIDICULOUSLY priced, so I will never buy them.
I will only buy in games now that actually aren’t a rip off and this is not one of them!!
