Quite good but...
Overall, the game is ok. It needs some improvements (for example my game crashes every time I try to pick up treasure found by random rocks etc..) and we definitely need more freedom when upgrading/modifying our ships, let each one be unique (mixture of sails, cannons, even rudders?) and I would also like to follow treasure maps that lead to a specific island where you must leave your ship and explore on foot (get to shore using a controllable rowing boat and have exploration teams of men like when you are boarding an enemy. Plus ONLINE MULTIPLAYER!!
DEVS PLEASE READ: I logged on yesterday to find my battleship 2 and all of my progress, LITERALLY ALL OF IT, including map discovery and artefacts was gone. Please sort this out. I did not pay £5 to continuously sweat at a game that deletes its own data.

Fantastic
Great game with spectacular graphics! Plenty of action and infinite missions with a great story!
On boarding missions you can wander about your ship! New DLC adds new content and missions and now you can wander about the land too! Fantastic!

Overall a good game but melee combat is poor.
There seems to be no way to improve your characters combat skills. When blocking you are always staggered. You do minimal damage with your sword and there seems to be no way to improve this. There seems to be no way to reduce charge time of the pistols. Using the ships cannons on land is next to impossible. I really like this game everything else is excellent but combat is just frustrating.

Hello devs just want to thank you finally a good game to play on phone especially pirate when I saw I thought il give try after playing 5min couldn’t stop playing fun game graphics misions are just so good even I struggle with some misions any ways wanted to ask you guys how do wee get galeons I see on shop you need buy it but where which map checked all maps now here to buy them at least calm seas ghostly seas Eastern waters could you please give clue how what misions do I would be thank full thank you really good game!!!!!!!!

Overall a good game but with a few issues
A nicely presented pirate RPG with excellent graphics and good depth to keep you going for a long time.
I did have some problems with the quests though. Sometimes a quest can not be completed no matter what you do. For example the Tell tale tongue quest, I battled countless ships back to back but the quest would not complete. Not sure why but this needs to be looked into.

Developers stopped responding
Developers stopped responding when there game went wrong on my phone. Still no answers...
Need more things to do, and way more exploration of missions and bosses, plus more items and better controls, but besides that the game itself is good.
Price is a tad high but it’s apple get use to paying 300% for everything.
Mine stopped working, blacks out and come back to home screens thinking it’s still in side view, will put the review back to 4/5 star when it’s fixed thanks...

Don’t waste your money
Very, very bad - waste of money, don’t buy!
No tactics whatsoever, just sail and shoot, can shoot through islands and can never lure enemy onto islands (despite you being able to wreck your boat on them).
Very little help finding out what missions entail and how to go about them.
Pretty but rubbish - I’d get my money back if I could!

I think the problems are:
1. We can fire/be fired at through rocks (so you can’t use any tactics)
2. There is no wind allowance in the game - so you can’t flee by using the wind, and turning is always the same for you and the enemy, meaning no advantage wherever the wind is blowing
These are key at the start when the enemy is extremely strong
3. Then there is the lack of information about how to trade, what the different factions mean and the effect on you.
4. Then there are the quests that give you no feedback on how you are doing or what you are achieving...you just go on, getting each new target without a view on what you are achieving/what you will get at the end.
5. Then there is no real explanation of how to improve your ship, what ships are out there to avoid and which you should attack.
I think the issues is that this is a vast game on pc and Mac...and you’ve attempted to make it into an iPAD game - I’ve only seen this done well once - Xcom

Great game, some technical issues
This is a great game and well worth the money - so do buy it. Having said that this only receives 4 stars because there are glitches, especially on the later missions which unfortunately makes the game crash and you are unable to complete the missions. Slightly frustrating as it takes quite a lot of work to get there.
Also, to the game owners - make a space version PLEASE!

Much potential
Whilst there's very little to compare this too, it's a good game overall. Messy and sometimes hard to get some things as not well explained or even at all. Gets grindy and so ultimately pretty dull, I've bought a bigger ship and it somehow seems worse, it's pretty difficult to get cash and some missions are pointless until later. Boarding... I just stopped, it was a bit messy. So slow in some bits, yes ship game....but if I have to endure the slow speeds after battle has ended to pick up ten quid.....well that's pretty poor
Edit: yes it's pretty honest. But active developer commenting gives it an extra star then I think 😉

I love it
I haven't been playing for long but I absolutely love this game. Easily the best game of its kind in the App Store, and no annoying in app purchases to stop me from progressing through the game. It's visually impressive and I love the cinematic during the battles. Seems to be plenty to do to keep me occupied for a while, definitely worth every gold coin! 😀

Great game
Awesome game amazing graphics and although their were a few glitches I've been amazed at the response time of the developer who fixed them, it's nice to know you're listened too, and that any problems gets fixed immediately

Lots of depth and fun
I have only sunk (no pun intended) a few hours into the game so far and I can see already that there is a lot of customisation for both ship and crew in this game. As well there is a large variation of repeatable quest on offer. The combat is classically repetitive but still fun and has a verity of types of cannons, ammunition and other upgrades. There are multiple fractions to join or anger I have only met 5 so far which is a good amount. The game is very much like Sid Meier's Pirates which is an excellent game. This game has a lot of excellent elements in it and is one of the best games i have played on iPad. The only criticism I have is that the lore and narrative of this created world in unclear and not well presented and while traveling in map mode I was unsure if the icons at the bottom where attackers, friend or foe or people I could attack.
In all this is great game with a lot in it and one of the few games worth time and money on iPad. One that will be on my iPad for a long time alongside Pirates and FTL.
-The developers have also been very good with customer feedback some thing I did not expect and has made a very excellent game that more enjoyable to play.
