Here comes the the crazy twin-sister of Ruismaker, designed for people who want to design their own percussion sounds from scratch.
Ruismaker FM's simple, yet flexible synthesis engine lets you create anything from snaredrums, kickdrums and spacy toms to weird and unconventional percussive sounds and effects.
Ruismaker FM is a unique drumsynth plugin (i.e. it does not use samples), which is coupled with a creative Euclidean sequencer when run in standalone mode.
The plugin is fully AUv3 (Audio Unit) compatible:
- Seamless integration with Garageband and other AU hosts
- Audio Unit Instrument: making music on iOS doesn't get more convenient
- Each sound is modeled using authentic analog and FM algorithms;
- Comes with dozens of unique customizable models
- Does not use any samples; all sounds are synthesized in realtime, on the fly
- Light on the CPU, so you can run lots of Ruismaker FMs simultaneously
- Fully automatable parameters (requires host support) and MIDI CC controllable
- Has its own preset manager
The standalone sequencer is refreshingly different:
- Program patterns using Euclidean algorithms
- Powerful random feature and mutation probability settings per channel
- Syncs with Ableton Link or MIDI Clock
- Exports WAV and MIDI
- Compatible with Audiobus 3 (including MIDI IN/OUT mode)
- CoreMIDI In and Out
- AU MIDI output for on-screen pads

Largely disappointed

Very limited synthesis possibilities. Just one oscillator and carrier per drum channel - no oscillator feedback, no lfos, and the reverb, the only effect, is on the master bus. Surely they could have at least implemented reverb send for each channel. What there is sounds pretty decent, but there isn’t much at all.

Inspiring and easy to use

Step outside of your normal grooves with the funky sequencer. Loving the fm percussion sounds as well, both for crazy zips and also regular sounds. You can also control parameters externally, so goooood 😍

Great app, great developer!

Some developers make excuses or can’t be bothered. Brambos always delivers interesting, fun and highly useable apps at reasonable prices. The new addition of Midi out is a joy, and brings a whole new dimension.

Brilliant sounds, great sequencer...

... highly recommended. Euclidean sequencer is great to play around with patterns, discovering rhythms and expanding your understanding of groove. Sounds lovely and just invites you to sound design beyond the presets for unique and tailored loops. Simple to pick up and then easily pro enough to create track worthy material that fits with your own style.

Recommended.

Ruismaker FM is a killer little machine! Euclidean nirvana. And those kicks are solid. I am just looking for a pattern/song mode... 8-)

Another gem for iOS musicians

Love it, like your other apps you just nail it. AUv3 works like charm and honestly all synths and drum machines and all fx should be made AUv3 otherwise useless(not really useless but not integrated enough:)
Great stuff and definitely looking forward to all new stuff from this developer.

Standalone?

As with your other great drum app, please give this its own sequencer and make this great drum app a standalone mode. It's the only thing stopping it being a five star app.

Just buy it

The original Ruismaker is already the best drum modeller on IOS, this FM version is like an armour plated version, lots of metallic sounds and bass drums that will smash you in to next week !
