Issue with Overlapping Text in PDF Graph – Contour Diabetes App
I’m using the Contour Diabetes app and noticed that when I generate the PDF version of my blood sugar diary report, the graph section has overlapping text labels. This makes it difficult to read the data clearly, especially when there are multiple readings close together.
I’ve ensured my app is up to date and have tried generating reports with fewer entries, but the issue persists. Could you please advise if there’s a fix or update planned to improve the layout and readability of the graph in the PDF export?

If only delete worked
I’ve been using this since October 2024, due to its Bluetooth connectivity, I find it beater than the previous device I had. The only downside I have with the app on iPhone, is the ability not being able to delete a reading that goes in twice. It does state if you swipe or hold down you can but it won’t. Fix this and it gets 5 stars

Best fasting feature
After 3 different glucose apps, I was annoyed that my fasting levels were always high but the other 3 apps would show them as being in target as they were in the range after a meal even though it should be much lower in the morning. They had settings where you could change the target for fasting but it wouldn’t reflect as much on the graph or stats. I decided to download this as I have the contour plus blue anyway. A lot better and easy to use for me as I just wanted to keep track of my glucose. I like how it sets up your breakfast , lunch and dinner time and you can adjust - would have been a little better if you could do it to the half hour rather than just the hour but not a dealbreaker. So this was nice that it would automatically label it as after lunch for you instead of selecting manually - and you could change it
I’ve only just downloaded it and haven’t played with it much but I like the fact that the readings go straight to the phone - although I had to manually sync for this mornings reading so would be a pain if I had to do that all the time - and also I can’t seem to delete readings on the app as my partner uses it too I didn’t want his readings to mix up my stats but haven’t looked into how to get around this issue yet, maybe he can delete on the monitor but haven’t checked yet.
Just really happy this app indicates to me when my fasting range is high, 5 stars for just that and it’s easy simple design to navigate.

Hit and miss
I’ve used this for a few years and am increasingly frustrated by its stubborn habit of failing to transfer a reading to the Apple Health app.
It’s 1 Apr (no joke) and the last reading I have on Apple Health is 11 Feb. The contour app is bang up to date with my daily readings.
It’s always had this intermittent glitch, but I’ve had enough and am now looking for a more reliable meter.

Generally a good app, can sometimes seem quite slow to sync to Apple Health
The app seems ok enough. The design/UX of it seems a bit clunky/dated, but the app+device combo works well and it’s straight forward enough to take a reading. There are few areas that need improvement and the sync of your readings to your Apple Health seems very slow. (I have it connected, some of the readings come through bit it’s a bit hit or miss)

Pretty decent app
Easy to use and to understand and links well with the Contour Plus Blue tester. One improvement that could be made is the addition of an estimated HBA1C value based on the readings taken. Only used on iPhone 16 not an iPad....

Poor customer service
It’s 8 months since the last update?
Complaints or requests go unanswered.
This App is OK but often even when next to it the reading result is not picked up by the App on my IPhone 15 Pro Max. I have to close and open the Contour Next to get the transfer done. Also none of the reading go to a third party App yet they are supposed to. An automated service that requires far to much manual intervention.
If it wasn’t provided free I would not use this brand monitor or app.

I downloaded this to my iPhone to pair with my contour blue plus BG metre. It shows a main page on which there is no menu/links that allow you proceed using the app. Any suggestions?I’m in the U.K. Thank you.

Perfect setup
Had the monitor and App for 3 months now, it’s been extremely good I’ve had no problems with connectivity, readings are all available whenever I need, very easy to install and navigate around the app.

I don’t get how these pharmaceutical companies tries to control your life as much as possible to make sure they make money, otherwise how can you explain can’t delete an incorrect reading ? I have not had any problems with the app as mentioned by some other users. I have found it to be a great help in controlling my type 2 diabetes. I’m presently on a programme to lose weight and change my diet to healthier options, and it has been invaluable in supporting my efforts.

Disappointing Connectivity Issue Hinders Account Creation
As a software engineer, I was truly shocked to encounter such a frustrating obstacle right from the start. Regardless of whether I used WiFi or 5G, I couldn't seem to overcome the first hurdle. Every time I tried to register , I received the discouraging message: "Unable to Create Account - The CONTOUR™DIABETES app was not able to create the account (Error 15700)."
Naturally, I reached out to support, hoping for a quick resolution. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide any insight into the mysterious Error 15700 or offer any meaningful assistance. This lack of awareness from the support team is concerning, especially since the main reason for purchasing this meter was its promised connectivity. Plus reinstalling app is not a fix. I even tried on my wife’s iPhone!
It's truly disheartening to encounter such a connectivity issue right at the beginning of my experience with the product. The whole purpose of investing in this meter was to take advantage of its connectivity features. This situation has not only tarnished the brand's reputation but has left me utterly disappointed.
I sincerely hope that the developers and support team can address this issue promptly and provide a solution to those experiencing the same problem. Until then, I regretfully cannot recommend this product due to its connectivity shortcomings and the lack of adequate support.

Contour Diabetes App
Reasonably good app, no major problems with it’s use, report is good and it connects each time correctly. Info transfers to Apple Health fine. Would like the choice of changing the scale so you can see the results in both mg/l and mmol/dl, that would be useful.

So easy to use easy setup and it’s good to have all my readings in my apple health app for me its better than the Accu-check i had , as the cassettes expire and are just a waste so il give it 30 Days then repost a proper user review otherwise Contour a great little meter . Great app! Future plans for development
Hi love the app it helps me keep track of my BG. I would like to suggest some future devs. Please make the notes under each entry visible so I can note diet changes that might have altered my bloods. Having it a top level makes it easier to reference.
Be able to record/predict HBA1C readings. Maybe have a link over with the calorie check ap to share diet information across.

Amazing Device
I was lucky enough to be selected for a free device, It is an extremely accurate blood glucose monitoring machine and I like the fact that you can sync with your phone and this allows you to look back at your results.

Great app - some display problems
The full screen display of results, the notes cover the readings completely - so you can never compare results. Apart from that, it’s great. Especially the reports you can prepare

Must be able to edit all entries.
The app has a severe limitation in that you can only edit manual entries.
When I was trying out my new reader I hadn’t set the date and time and now I can’t undo the entries.
I have also pressed the wrong button several times miss entering pre and post markers which I can’t go back and correct.
Being unable to correct such greatly impairs any trend analysis.

Updated for iPhone XR
Now can use with my new(er) iPhone. Went back to meters after CGM and found couldn’t use with my iPhone any longer, but just tried again recently and looks like the app has been updated and now syncing with app on phone. And it looks better than when I used a couple of years ago as well. Lots of new features including the reports which can be downloaded and exported - fantastic and well done 😃😃

Excellent mater and app
This is the first meter I have used (Contour Next One) and therefore the first app. I am really impressed with both. The app has some great features such as facility to email reports direct to health care professionals and also to set reminders for testing etc. I use it daily on my iPhone and am about to add the app to my laptop. The only feature I would like to see added is the ability to log food on a daily basis.

Got another phone and tried to set up the app.. all went well until I opened the app... it allowed me to put my email address and password in but that was it.. just had a spinning wheel inside the app I could see the screen behind the spinning wheel but it wouldn’t allow me to press the plus to add my meter..

Excellent concept, poor implementation
Having wanted to track my glucose levels on my phone, this seemed like the perfect solution. Even more so when the contour next is my current favourite monitor.
However the app is unusable. I have registered with my email address but when i try to login my email isnt recognised by the app/system, which is bizzarre when i go into ‘Forgotten password’ a reset email is sent to my registered email. I hope the develop can fix this issue soon.

Poorly made
You would think that a very well funded and capable company such as this would afford a good enough tech team to create a decent app but that is far from the reality. Using it feels like travelling back to the early-2000s and everything is slower. Making an account, the first step, is even a hassle as I’ve tried several emails, passwords and combinations to make an account to no avail. This is a poorly made app.

Good App!
Find the app works well (Bluetooth connections always good). Help me keep on track of my average levels and those unexpected patterns. However recently the averages have been a bit glitchy and sometimes not showing. All that said, I find this to be one of my regularly used apps and value it.

Pairing
As others pointed out pairing with the iPad if you also have iPhone on is impossible. Like the others I wanted to sit down with the meal planner so I could read it. However after re loading iPad app etc no of times it would not sync. The only work around is to switch the I phone off? Some interference between the two is the issue. It won’t pair the device nor sync to the cloud until iPhone is off?
Another great feature would be to be able to print off shopping lists from the device, just a thought. Also a barcode scanner of foods would help when shopping - e.g with recipe you could scan items as you are collecting them knocking them off the list? If that is possible.
It’s a great app when working but this needs to be addressed ASAP or we cannot use iPhone and iPad at same time.

This has such potential if only we could get better more precise reports so they can be printed - there is too much info trying to be shown at the moment so bits get missed also the colours on the print out reports need changing so we can see which is which
Would be great if could link the Fitbit to it so add exercise or currently only links with Apple Watch

Improvements to make it better app
A good app I like how it categorises test results according to TR but it would be really good if you can improve how reading section displays the results
..
Eg for the diabetes logged graph please add to a seperate page so you can have a full view on the test results so you can more easily see patterns.
It currently only allows you to see small number of results plotted and in landscape full view only shows a day at a time.
It would be good if could also see week view and month view in graph format
Also for the readings to be able to see day, week views and month views as a list so can easily see trends. This is also beneficial for people with visual impairments / blind.-
Also please add a food log section. Currently you can only log in the notes of a test result. But it would be good if you can log daily food you have eaten even if it is not related to a particular reading. With cals and carb log fields for those wanting to monitor these.

Great on iPhone. Impossible on iPad
Installed on iPad over a year ago. Always had problems with Bluetooth connection. Now it just stopped working altogether. Uninstalled and downloaded again. Now it doesn’t sync with cloud so absolutely useless. Conversely the iPhone app works fine. Wave meter vaguely in direction of phone and It updates immediately. Why can one work perfectly and the other fail to function?
*** Update. Have finally sorted this out, not from Ascensia but from diabetes Forum. My problems have arisen because I bought a new iPhone and paired meter to iPhone. When I repeatedly tried to pair again with my iPad (because it’s bigger and I can read it better!) it wouldn’t pair, as it was pairing with iPhone continually. SO, turn off iPhone altogether, now pair with iPad and hey presto, it works, and 7 months of readings miraculously appear on my iPad. PLEASE PLEASE can you make this clear to users that have both iPhone and iPad?

Great App and features.
Great App, had a few problems getting my meter to sync on my new phone and getting various app error messages but just deleted it and reinstalled and everything ok. It’s all synced to the cloud so you don’t loose anything.
I love being able to add my food that I eat with my readings so I know how what I eat affects my sugars but I would love being able to use decimal points in my carb counting in the app rather than just whole numbers.
I have tried to contact the developer about this but got nowhere ☹️
Also my diabetic support team where impressed with the reports it can generate.

Terrible app
Was excited to receive the free blood meter which is superior to the free one given by my GP. However, the app that works alongside it looks like it’s been made by a five year old!
It’s not designed to work correctly with the latest iPhones such as the XS Max and connectivity is flakey at best.
Best option is to let the app do its thing (when it does work) and then view the results in the Health app which has a better interface.

This app has amazing potential but it just isn’t reliable enough to be useful. I’ve been using this since it launched on 2 different phones and it just is far too glitchy to rely on. The main issue for me is connectivity between the meter and phone. To start with it was perfect then after the first update it just constantly lost connection. The faff of pairing it all the time got boring quickly. When I moved to the new phone I thought maybe the issue would be resolved but no. I have had to reinstall several times and still it refuses. I’m most likely going to switch to a different meter that’s more self contained. It’s irritating because honestly I’m not going to be writing readings down on paper or a spreadsheet, who has the time for that, so the consultant will be sulking shortly, course he’s more than welcome to spend hours of his life transcribing results and making a graph if he feels the urge!

Improved from previous version
The meter and the phone seem to connect better after each reading now which is good and I like the way it notifies you of ‘critically low blood sugar’, then suggests what to take to treat and a 15 minute timer to remind you to test again following a hypo. Also the patterns feature is useful and could help pinpoint areas for improvement, the app itself is a fantastic idea, however it still needs the following to make it a 5 star app:
It still doesn’t always send readings from the phone to the meter automatically, it does seems better with the latest update however.
HealthKit integration.
Optimisation for all modern iPhones, it is still a stretched out iPhone 5 app on screen, this is purely aesthetic but something I feel should be addressed.
The option for a daily/weekly notification of your average blood sugar for that day/week

Putting the "Cr" in App
You would think that with the billions of pounds/dollars that these pharmaceuticals make, they would be able to put together an app that does the job. Sadly this is not it.
Bluetooth connection to meter works - some of the time.
App launches on iPad - maybe one time in five.
App launches on iPhone - when it feels like it.
Sync between iPhone and app - assuming app launches, maybe 80% of the time.
You get the message, but it does not stop there ... it gets better.
No integration with Apple Health - actually, no integration with anything. Export to health professional - only if you mean handing the nurse your iPhone or iPad so that they can read the data that may have been sync'd sometime when your patience had not been tested to breaking point.
Support - non-existent.
As a developer, I know that rigorous testing and beta tests are vital for an app to be successful. This is not such an app. It is an embarrassment and the product manager should be looking for a new position - app testing may be a good choice, but at intern level.

No current app connections
Generally it’s a nice little device. But I have 2 major issues.
1) it does not connect to Apple Health or any other app making it cumbersome to manage this device along with other tools that make life easier.
2) it needed to be USB rechargeable... I don’t always have access to stores with blah blah blah batteries but I do always have access to a USB charger

Excellent Update
Having used the previous software with the Next USB meter, this new product and app are a vast improvement. I find it absolutely perfect for my needs, very simple to use and with a very pleasant and user friendly interface.

This app I find very useful as you have your results on your phone and if needed you can show your Medical People your results. Good to have them at hand when required.

Best Meter and App I have had.
The Contour Next One and its associated application are definitely the best I have used. I love the size, battery life and ease of use of the meter. The fact that it automatically records readings direct to my iPhone is a massive bonus.
The app itself is also easy to use, and the graphics are attractive.
I would definitely recommend these two!

Good now it works again ...
I had this app on my iPhone 7 and recently upgraded to the X. No success (very buggy) until I cleared the old (restored) app off completely and reinstalled this version. Went through set up and pairing again and now all running well on iOS 11.2.1.
Suggest other iPhone users / upgraders do the same!

Works well
I was concerned with all the negative reviews if this app was worth using, but my experience is largely positive.
The only major issue I had was that I couldn’t connect the meter with my iPhone 8 (though the iPhone 6 was fine). Because of this issue I couldn’t get past the setup screen, so though the app would be useless. However, I connected it to my old phone. When I launched the app on the new phone, I was then able to connect it within the app.
There are a couple of minor niggles, one of which being that the screen will rotate to landscape to see a wider view of the graph, but won’t auto-rotate back unless you press the x button.
Other than that, it’s very nice to have a pseudo-cgm style view of my blood sugars without paying all the money for a CGM system.

Nobody’s perfect
This pair of the glucose tester (BG meter) has been a big improvement from the digital LCD meters I have been using. The meter/tester is basically an iPhone sensor this explains its simplicity. The app provides ample functionality but is limited and confined. It would’ve extended its reach exponentially if only it opened itself to other applications e.g. Apple’s native Health app and other Diabetes apps, which I don’t quite get because their main business is the meter the app is a compliment. The more apps that can access the contour app data the more people would get the meter to use with their preferred applications. I sincerely hope Contour App is going to open its doors in the immediate future. One thing I would like to mention though it has nothing to do with the app, the microlet lancets are very well made and are extremely sharp this equates to little or no pain.

I have no complaints.
This advancement in glucose blood monitoring equipment is really impressive. The meter is very smart, compact and accurate. The app is a fantastic addition. Looking forward to future updates. Thank you.

Disappointed
The meter itself I actually find very good but the app I'm so disappointed in it, it's done nothing but play up since downloading it and that's on my iPad on my iPhone it won't even open I just keep getting error messages, think I may just delete the app and just use the meter on its own which is a shame as I really wanted to get the full experience of it, maybe I'll try again when they've fixed the issues but as of now it's just not worth it
