Useless app if it means that I have to buy a new iPad - WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD TO DO!!!
So, I purchase a subscription for the 2026 season. I go to sign in ready for Buriram MotoGP but get a message saying something like ’Pitstop! Upgrade to the latest version of the app for the best experience’.
So, I click the upgrade button, get linked to the App Store for the new version. Click ‘open’ and get a message informing me that my iPad needs to have a iOS 18.whatever in order to run the new app - which my iPad cannot support!!!!!
So, I go back to the MotoGP app - which refuses to let me continue with the older version and just leaves the stupid ‘pit stop’ message on the page with my app greyed out behind it!!!!
So, in order to be able to use the app and watch MotoGP I’ve got to buy another iPad, which I can’t afford to do!!
Anyway, why should I have to do this when everything else that I want to do works on this iPad??
Very, very disappointed, frustrated….and annoyed!!
Why don’t app developers think about the people who can’t afford to constantly change their iPhones or iPads!!!

£159.99 for an app that bugs out
So frustrating. I’ve spent 20m trying to watch a past race. I was asked to subscribe and pay £159.99 which I did. When I try to watch a video, the app asks me to subscribe. When I click subscribe, it tells me I’m already subscribed, and takes me back to the video thumbnails. And on goes the cycle.
Sort your software out. It’s not difficult.

Moto Gp is the best coverage of the racing right the way back through to the 90s so you can start at the beginning and work your way forward.

Getting better! Circuit mode is great!
The app used to be rubbish, but it’s slowly getting better. I really like the short form video compilations for each weekend. I mainly use it for the schedule and recently used it at the track using Circuit Mode and it was really cool to have free TimingPass. The timing pass is extremely accurate with pretty much no lag when the riders pass by, a perfect companion at the track and one which boosts the experience.
Ultimately there’s not too much you could do with this app other than track the standings and so on, features like the shorts and the timingpass make the app more relevant and useful. Would be cool if they had a ‘vaults’ section with historic race information.

Very noisy repetitive background music. Spoilers everywhere.
The Apple TV app does not always show the latest races. I have to open the iPad app, which I hate doing because navigation is such a mess and there are so many spoilers telling me the results before I get the chance to find and watch the race.
The sound is also really unpleasant. Repetitive music playing over and over, plus engine noise, plus commentators, plus track announcements. Very hard to hear anything clearly, just a cacophony.
Lots of interviews before the race which are pointless, i.e. “do you think you will win? don’t know”. “What’s your strategy? go fast”.
I thought there would be some technical / engineering info, but sadly not.

It was a real struggle to set register too:
I registered using the Apple account “hide my email” option. I cannot proceed until I verify email address, but no email is sent. Impossible to use.
I tried registering manually, but it doesn’t accept auto-generated passwords with “-“.
Facebook login option not available on Apple TV.
Impossible to see password characters when entering on TV.
Forced to manually enter postal address. No autofill option.
Such a waste of time for such an expensive app!

No longer connecting through AirPlay
Love the app, been using it for years. But for the last 2 races, the app won’t connect from iPhone to AirPlay (Apple TV). Tried everything, logical elimination places the problem with the app. All other apps connect. Super annoying, please update!!!

Seems to often have issues. The latest issue for me is that AirPlay isn’t working (works on every other app on my phone). Have tried reinstalling etc and no luck. Support team must be non existent as they take a decade to get back to you - not ideal when you’re missing live coverage that you’ve paid good money for. The Sport is Amazing - This viewing experience is not.
Due to our location this is the only way to watch MotoGP at home. Every year there is another technical glitch which will eventually get fixed. This year the the app will not let me watch the races live! All other content fine. Live loads screen and kicks me back to the menu. So I’m writing as the Spirit is because I can bloody watch it! Grrrr…

Great App but needs a few upgrades
I actually do love this App, and I am very happy to pay the subscription to watch the best sport in the world. However, I travel a lot and I get good enough internet to stream sporadically. If you imagine for a minute that the MotoGP app is just a streaming TV service, then MGP should look at some of the features that those apps allow. And the most important is to be able to download the races so we can watch them when we have time, and perhaps have no Wi-Fi. Like on a plane, or train, or sat in the back of a car. If you do this, the only other thing you need to do is steal the TNT UK commentary staff as they are utterly off the charts.

All sorts of problems on iPad
Sometime you can’t stop the video. Sometimes you get no controls on iPad when you are casting to tv. Interface design is for phone. It used to be good for iPad but now it looks terrible on iPad. The app has always had problems with bandwidth etc, hoped it would have been sorted by now. I just wrote this review and then tried to use the app again… and I now would like to change my rating to 1 star. It’s really useless, surely Dorna know this is rubbish, have they got any plans to do anything about it?

Suddenly the watch tab crashes the app
Used the app for years - specifically the no - spoiler watch tab so i can open the app and watch the races hours after they have run without seeing the results. Now 2 weeks since Qatar this function crashes the app. No amount of logging in and out, reinstalling and updates fixes it - i cant watch on the app, i have to log in online.. its the primary purpose of the app and it doesn’t work.. mid season come on guys get out sorted ffs

Terrible navigation and user experience
I have given up using this app, and instead use the Roku box connected to my TV to access the same services if I can, however when I’m out and have to use the app it is not laid out to follow the common user journeys that you would use the app for. It feels as if the developers don’t actually use the app and have skipped the whole user testing bit of the development.

Clunky App and poor performance
I use the the app at home to stream to my TV and at the circuit to get English commentary. Was at Assen last weekend and Jerez earlier in the year. It’s ridiculous the rider interviews are all in English but the race circuit commentary is not. There were many English (and other nationalities) people there all alienated by the foreign commentary, 99% of the Dutch speak English! When the app does work it’s 30 seconds behind live making it pretty useless to follow the race!!

Needs some work
It’s great to be able to watch the videos at any time which is why we got the app however, when the internet is slow which is the case at most Caravan parks, the video freezes and glitches. It would be great if we could download the video and then watch it as this would prevent issues with poor internet connectivity.
Today is the Sprint race at the German Grand Prix and over an hour after the race we still can’t get the video of the race. This was also the case last weekend where hours later we got the race video.
I can’t find the live race times for this weekend on the app like we do on the tele where you just go into the “live” tab and it shows you the times of the upcoming races on that particular weekend.
I know this all sounds negative but we do enjoy the app, it just needs some tweaks 👍

App works great. Video pass is ridiculously expensive. I’m obsessed with MotoGP, but being medically retired and on invalidity the cost is extortionate. But I like the available information on there, I use it quite a bit, I just wish the cost had more options and there were more free stuff. I’ve never had an issue using this app like others report, so I suspect some might be user error.

One of the few apps that keeps me permanently logged in. Never had an issue with watching either live or catch-up races and the “spoiler avoidance” landing page is fabulous when catching up races later in the day.

Inconsistent streaming experience
This application is poor when streaming, it goes from being good to suddenly playing the correct audio but showing the video from the beginning. If it doesn’t just decide to either buffer or black screen even on WiFi.
It surely can’t be that difficult to get right in 2024…

Absolutely appalling App on iOS. Improvements promised by dorner every year never materialise. If this app was free you’d still demand a refund because its so bad. Coming up to renewal date and after several years i wont be renewing. Theres a reason they dont offer monthly subscriptions and thats because most people would cancel very quickly. Good luck if you decide to subscribe….you are likely to be very disappointed.

Going backwards
I don’t know who built the new app for you, but they should be ashamed. The amount of bugs in this release is ridiculous.
For example, on my iPad, running iOS17, if I press the back button while a video is playing, the audio keeps running even though the video has stopped playing.
If I then try to go back into the same video, I just starts again from the begging and I then have dual audio streams playing from different parts of the video.
Other issues include commentary with frozen video, huge delays in videos playing, or video just not playing at all.
Do you take us for fools? I’m paying for a service and getting the most appalling results I’ve ever seen from you.
Fix this quick or you will lose customers hand over fist.

Goes from weakness to weakness
The app is not a GP bike. Modifications every few minutes are a bad idea.
Rarely can an organisation have invested so much in both their app and website for each iteration to be a backward step.
In the current app for IOS, whether on tablet or phone, the data is not live, Timingpass function unavailable, and the much-changed layout is not user-friendly. Try finding times for today’s sessions during the day itself.
After cajoling my tablet to use the website, rather than the app, the Timingpass subscription element was eventually available using a browser.
Having reviewed prior iterations of the app, and as somebody who watches all GP events, Dorna increasingly favour sound bites, tailored for social media, and a sales platform for tickets and merchandise.
They really fail to deliver the basics, i.e. what is happening on track now.

This used to be a very solid app but since the update in the summer break it is now much harder to navigate and some features seem to be completely missing.

A bad app just got worse!!
I am cancelling my subscription at the end of this season 100%. This app just got SO much worse. Not only is it Constantly crashing, but it is also showing results as soon as I open it. Why in the world are highlights available next to a video of the podium with no more Non spoiler option?
Lifetime fan of MotoGP seriously considering why I bother wasting my time trying to watch races, especially when MotoGP are determined to tell me the results before they release the on demand race.
Might as well go onto Facebook for the results and save the subscription fee.

The motorcycles evolve...only the App doesn’t. App is generally good for across devices. One major issues I’ve found to be annoying.... VIDEO Play. Currently... 1 - Auto plays with no ‘BACK button’. 2 - BACK button is fundamentally top left like PCs... this app has both top left bottom right.. no constancy. 3- Time tracking needs rebuild cramped not readable on iPhone.. Stick to BACK button being available all pages/content... and stick to top left and will be BIG improvement.

Good for watching the racing
Not very user intuitive, there are no swipe back options you have to use the go back arrows. If you’re not watching the racing live there is a serious risk of spoiling the result if you don’t know it. You have to navigate past the home page with the results on it to get to a spoiler free page. UX could be so much better, Dorna you need to up your game with your online content.

Terrible service
I purchased a season pass as I lost BT Sport this year. Wish I hadn’t!! The app no longer syncs through my TV so have to watch on my iPad. The commentary is awful, no pre race build up, grid interviews are audio with no video. Wouldn’t recommend. If you have the option to get BT sport pay the extra. Definitely will not be renewing my season pass! This is dorna for god sake, it should be the best viewing experience/platform

Unable to Log In to Live Timing
Further to my previous comments, after subscribing for a number of years, and for this year (2022), I tried to log in to live timing and was unable to do so. I have used live timing this year on my iPad, iPhone and PC. I contacted their customer service and received a note stating they didn’t have the ability to see my login history or previous purchases. I strongly suspect mine in not an isolated incident.
My note by return let them know that after all the problems I (and others) have had with their add, and having to deal with not being able to use a service that I have paid for (again) the lesson I have been taught is I don’t need this app and the hassle that comes along with it. I hate not being able to use something that I have paid for and worse, not receiving help when I have asked for it.
If you like apps that fail periodically and are willing to put up with customer service that is anything but, this is your app.

Worst app ever
£165 odd pounds for a years subscription and we can’t even use airplay to watch the races from IPad to the TV, and yes all our other subscription services we have work just fine via Apple airplay.
Also, having to wait for whatever ‘live’ race is airing on tv to finish before watching the previous race via the app is also mega annoying and quite frankly useless. What’s the point of having an on demand service when you have to wait for a race to finish before you can watch the previous class 🤷🏻♂️
I may as well not have renewed my subscription and just waited for the highlights to come on terrestrial ITV4 on Monday evening.
Sort it out Dorna before I, and others, start to walk.

You need to fix this!
Picture quality drops to fuzzy haze reminiscent of tv in the 1970’s. At first I thought this was a connection issue on my end until I realised the picture dropped at exactly the same point when you re-watch it. Yes you need to re-watch it as it drops out or freezes, resulting in the app going back to the beginning. This is so bad that I have not managed to watch a single practice, qualifying, warm up or race without multiple resets. I have done all the usual things to try and stabilise it my end but the situation persists. I won’t be resubscribing for this service again unless I get a substantial discount AND they fix the issues on their end. It is disgusting that you have been paid so much, by so many and your service is not fit for purpose.

App won’t start while race is in progress
I purchased the season’s video pass last week and downloaded the app. It worked well on non race days and for the qualifying on Sat 19 March. However when I tried to open the app in the middle of the Moto2 race at 5.30 am UK time, it wouldn’t open. It looked like it tried to start and then my IPad went back to its app screen. After a dozen tries it did open but wasn’t showing the live race. Oddly the 20 March date was missing from the Calendar, but the 6 March and 3April and all others were showing. I gave up on the app and watched the last few laps on the website via Safari.
Once the Moto2 race finished the app opened correctly and I the watched the MotoGP race live Via the app. Is this a capacity problem with the app not being able to cope with the number of users? Not good having spent 199 Euros on a video pass.
I want to use the app as it allows me to Chromecast to my main TV.

Slowly getting worse.
This app has for the last year or 2 got progressively worse. The infuriating way it skips to random videos after a video has finished. The seemingly more common crash right at the start of the races. And recently the most annoying is the block on streaming live content via Airplay. Works fine for pre recorded stuff but blocked for live, so you can only watch the races on iPhone etc. not stream it to a TV. Making me question my renewal for next year. I’ve been a subscriber for nearly 20 years.

Would like a refund please
This app has been playing up for months now on Apple TV, it keeps asking to enable cookies then freezes,I’ve then got to either delete it or reboot the tv only for it to keep happening, it never seems to be able to refresh to the latest content on the spoiler free section, instead you’ve got to change year then change back again, why can’t you fix the app please?

Audio and video keep losing sync
As above, watching races is now a frustrating experience. I used to love this app, been a subscriber for many years. I think this may be my last year, I now more often than not go elsewhere for my MotoGP coverage due to the frustration with this service. Looking at the recent reviews I am not alone, dorna clearly know about this issue, not only from these reviews but I, along with many others have complained and there has been no improvement. They just want our cash.

Frustrating Expensive Crap
Despite paying the overpriced annual subscription for several years this app still regularly disconnects usually just before the Moto GP race is due to start, they never address it’s well documented bad reviews, once they have your money they don’t care about the subscribers, spend your cash with a company that will at least try to provide a service

Not working….. again
Had the MotoGP app the previous two seasons with no problems that come to mind. But after signing up this year through a apple email I’ve had four different times where it won’t allow me on the app. I have missed the first MotoGP through no fault of my own & now after getting the logging onto the app yesterday , I find that I can’t view the British MotoGP, even after deleting the app and doing as previously, very frustrating.

Dire
This app is awful! I’ve been using it for a few years now and it doesn’t seem to improve.
I’ve given up trying to watch the races live as I get loads of stuttering and freezes (despite having some of the fastest internet speeds in the world). Once the races are over and they’ve, eventually, made them available for catch-up I have no problems whatsoever.
I’ve come to the conclusion that they haven’t the capacity to service their customers all at once.
I’ve emailed them several times and seem to get the same automated response, check your speed, try setting to a lower level etc. If I can watch BSB on Eurosport app with no problems I cannot see why I would need to alter my settings for MotoGP.

Pointless
If you don’t want to watch the MotoGP this is the app for you, great when not watching live.
During live race your have the pleasure of live feed freezing and then trying to catch up, as the action unfolds your be guaranteed to see nothing as the screen buffers and try’s unsuccessfully to catch up. Also listen to two commentaries as the out of sink and then finally freeze again.
Absolutely pointless and a waste of money.

I’m not paying for this junk
So, I installed the app on my iPhone and iPad, got my credit card out to pay for a years subscription, but the app is hopeless. I can’t find any way to buy a subscription and the app behaves in a very sketchy manner.
I looked at the reviews and saw that lots of other people have been having the exact same issues since October last year, particularly with apple devices. Dorna has had five months to fix it, but have done nothing.
I will carry on watching it through other channels, no way I am paying for such a shoddy application.

Do not use ‘Sign in with Apple ID’
Like many other disappointed reviewers here, I signed up for the MotoGP VideoPass using my Apple ID, and suffered a world of pain trying to log into the MotoGP app. But I contacted the developers and was able to change my log in to the standard email and password method. Now everything works just fine (on the Apple TV app, too). As a relative newcomer to MotoGP fandom, I like that I can use the ‘no spoilers’ browsing function to explore previous seasons without knowing the outcome. Cheers!

Needs Improvement
When you go to read any piece of news, you are unable to play any videos which are in there. That is quite annoying. Then there is no way to access the eSports championship page through the app. Also when playing videos, once the video is over, you cannot quit to the main page. You have to either replay the video and then quit it or you need to play a different video and then quit it. That is annoying as well. Please just add something which just lets you quit once the video is over. Also looking at say the details of a circuit, if the riders are not on the grid currently and they hold a record, in most cases I cannot see what they look like. Please add a picture for every rider even if they aren’t in any of the categories currently. As for the prices, I really don’t get it why TimingPass requires money. Look at what F1 is doing. It should be for free. I mean that is just disgraceful. Dorna, you guys are just turning away potential fans by charging for just the TimingPass. Also Videopass is too expensive. I would never pay like £160 for the entire season. At least introduce a monthly subscription option where you can cancel the subscription when you want to. If you pay this huge sum, then you are just stuck to it. And please add more older races to Videopass. I want to see races from the 1980s and 1970s and 1960s. I want to know the history of this sport beyond the 1990s.

Brilliant app
I’ve used this app for a few years now and had no problems with it. It’s all dependent on your Wi-fi connection. The better it is the more views you can run.
It costs approx £10 per race meeting that starts on a Thursday though to Sunday and any session can be watched on demand that’s £2.50 a day. If you are a Motogp fan this is the next best thing to being there.
It app runs on many devices including a PC If the app was available on AppleTV it would be perfect. Let’s hope one day we get it.
A year or so on since writing this it’s got better now they have an Apple TV app.
They could do something with remembering your login as it intermittently asks for it.

Puzzlingly low review scores
I’m not overly sure why this app has such a low rating? I own the video pass and every video works perfectly for me all in high resolution and they look even better when I stream them to my 4K Chrome Cast Ultra. The app itself also works perfectly fine, so the low review score is incredibly puzzling.

Awful
The app is terrible. A lot of the time it won’t launch meaning you miss sessions you want to watch live. Every time it is updated I think it might have sorted the bugs out but after the latest update it won’t go past the load screen. When it does work, using it is frustrating as the buttons often don’t work so if watching a video and you want to exit it you can’t- you have to force exit the app.

Utter rubbish
I dropped BT sport and subscribed to this app. We haven’t even made it to the first race and the app isn’t working already. Thoroughly disappointed. When it does work it either pixelates or freezes. The picture quality is so poor it looks like footage from the 1980’s. There is no vibrancy to colours, Qatar is so dark it looks like the lights are switched over off. I need to find out if I can cancel the subscription. At this price we should watching in 4k if you can’t make an app that works why don’t you give the rights to Netflix.

Rubbish
Seeing as they own MotoGP, the content they supply is complete crap, most is rehashed and repeated. I just paid for the 4 test video pass, admittedly only a €1, but that was still too much, the cameras only covered the Valencia test and that was on bt sport anyway. You have to purchase live timing separate, surely if you sell a video pass and there is no video feed you should get the timing instead. Be careful as well as it is auto renew and they will have €179 from you.
