Great game, endlessly addictive. If you want to get on in the game though you’ll need to be prepared to spend some money... you can do it without spending but it’ll take a lot longer to achieve champion status. Even more enjoyable with the addition of Server wars, where you can battle cross servers with teams from across the globe..... make sure you get into a guild and develop your very own teams👍

I asked for £10 refund from Apple because of devs false advertising and they took off me 70k(!!!) gems rendering this game unplayable, because I can’t do anything with negative gems amount! If you want to save some money, avoid those crooks!

Game keeps getting developed
Have loved this game for 3 hrs. Rate of development/new games & characters. Upside is that it stays interesting downside is that it is hard to keep up with new characters and team setups plus you increasingly need to drop $$$ to keep up.

Too expensive
While it started as a lot of fun it quickly became about spending money or falling behind. Several events are either spend or lose resources. Game could be good if managed welll but isn’t. Worse is new talismans for heroes are behind high paywalls. Meaning you have to spend about £100 or more just to get an item that you then have to invest in to increase. Previously nothing had been that high an investment to purchase.

Too many heroes.
Far too many heroes. Too few resources in the game. It used to be manageable, but now it’s out of control unless you’re a huge spender. Chapter 14 has also been promised for the lifetime of the game and has yet to be delivered. The developers are hell-bent on getting players to quit by overcomplicating things. Now we have Talismans which just make richer players even stronger, and the ship battles that most players said they didn’t want.

Great game, easy to play with some pay 2 win aspects but let’s face it don’t pay if you don’t want to. My only issue is there aren’t enough levels like what is advertised where you kill mobs to add points. I did t deter me from playing but from the outside looking in its worth noting there aren’t many of those levels at all.

A very sticky game
This game will keep you hooked. Good graphics and gameplay. Potential for more pvp. Frequent activities help keep it interesting. Can quickly make you buy stuff! Not really one where loyalty pays, though. Gameplay on mobile is different from that on Facebook, so beware!! There’s a good community around the game to tap into as well.

A really nice game with lots of variety
I really like the game despite it having a massive pay to win aspect. It’s still possible to do well and have fun as a free to play player, but it requires smart decisions, patience and an acceptance that you won’t be as strong as others most of the time. You should join the different Discord channels for the game as it otherwise becomes too hard and you miss out on valuable information. Expect to end up spending money on the game as well as significant amount of time.

New hero and gift for writing a review
I’m wondering if folk don’t like the new hero and give a bad review will they get a “prize” ?
Anyway I like her. I live mushy an shroom too and the turtle lady who I use all the time but can’t ever remember her name, btw she’s a great healer. Mushy is different as she’s more front line , unless you use one of the front line tanks . Why the green plant hero is front line as a healer once you get past lvl 75 she starts dying constantly which is sad I like her roots entanglement and her flower spore etc and I love her art work she’s beautiful! ( and definitely vegan !) this is a fun game but the folks saying you don’t need to spend are probably on the pay roll as obviously you don’t need to spend but if you don’t , and I didn’t for months , you get kicked from your clan / gang/ whatever they called clans here. Yup ex clash of clans player ! 😂)
But seriously it has flaws like everything and everyone but it’s a fun game not too expensive and the characters are absolutely lovely. I love it ! I still miss dragonage and heroes of dragonage but this is the next best thing ! Try it out ! And not a 👾in site 😺

Good game - cheaper to play if you’re in the USA 😠
The game itself is actually pretty good if and it’s possible to play free if you’re happy to grind it out a few years. The graphics are cute and the gameplay is simple (read repetitive) but addictive.
My only issue with gameplay is that sometimes the coloured boxes change and when you think you’re about to hit a free action you suddenly find it was a game currency button, but it’s rare and annoying if you’re playing fast and not paying attention.
My biggest issue is some of the curency conversations. A recent 33% increase in costs for packs is not in line globally. The US$ price shown for the purchase is then converted and “additional taxes” added to make the local market pay more. I get it, we all expect to pay more but if you’re in the USA you’re great - anywhere else welcome to premium taxation.
Overall I’d play it and will continue to. But like a number of players on my server it’s no more buying which is a shame.
Advice to devs: check your third party providers, they’re charging your players more and driving them from the game…

Beginner friendly, great for free to play
Started this game as I was bored. Was lured by the puzzles and challenges it offered. But stayed thanks to the amazing graphics, game options and ease of levelling up even as a free to play player. I’ve played other free to play games with little ads but this is one is by far the best. You have the option of watching ads to get stuff, but you can also opt out. Easy to progress and very enjoyable. Would highly recommend

It’s a lovely game
Very nice game, The graphics are very good. It’s interactive and with some sort of plot but not real mission as of yet. The obvious down side it’s is the constant reminder to upgrade and spend money (classic marketing techniques) they do give rewards but it takes forever to unlock anything with whatever free or rewards you earned…I haven’t seen any real challenge as of yet and they need to make it more manual rather than automatic (in my opinion) but hey I’m from the era of the first super Mario and Metroid so maybe I’m asking too much.

Good organised game but needs money to play
Four month update: looking for another game, starts out well but once campaign complete it loses direction. You’re paying for pointless and expensive upgrades to compete added to this are some changes that increase the cost/time on upgrades plus some of the events are poorly designed and over priced. In summary, starts off okay but very quickly becomes a money drain to compete. Good game format to develop characters and a set of sub characters through a number of different stages. No crashes so far, easy to play without paying however to progress you need to invest a little money every week, if you’re okay with this then it’s a good game… Update now 2 months into the game, it continues to entertain, as mentioned previously it does require a trickle of cash to keep the game going but you do get a fair return for any investment. Further update after 2 months: The game remains fun but after completing the missions and another few internal mini games in the initial game you hit a big lull without much happening and it starts to feel like you need to increase your trickle pay level to get more activity, not sure if I like this…

Crashes all the time & support doesn’t care!
MY ADVICE - UNTIL THEY FIX THE PROBLEMS, DONT BOTHER PLAYING I used to love this game but ever since the latest upgrade (around a month ago) the app just keep crashing during play. It’s has crashed multiply times during attacks in both guild war & cross war and during normal game play. I’ve contacted support both in game via the adviser (a ‘perk’ for being a VIP member) and online with support. The adviser is just a bot that tells you to contact support (Such a great ‘perk’). Online support have replied with the same message every time telling me to uninstall & reinstall. I have done this and it doesn’t work!!! They have even told me that I just need to use a newer phone, even though it says my phone is compatible. I give up - such a waste of time & money 😔

Good game, bad company
I wanted to wait until reaching level 50 to leave this review, which comes in 2 parts -
The game itself is pretty decent, lots to do, lots of game modes, good characters and interesting team synergies.
The game drastically slow down once you reach level 30/40 and starts to become a little dull.
End game content is pretty much non existent but my grind up to 50 was fun.
The real issue with the game, like so many others, is the adverts are complete lies!
One of the reasons I started playing was the adverts showing all the different puzzles this games has, lies!
On the first charge of campaign there was some puzzle along with a game mode that had its own in.
These ended within the first couple days of playing the game! None of the advertised puzzles were on there!
So i waited until I hit level 50 to see if any more puzzles opened up, nope!
I bet a played less than 20 puzzle and the even now, the App Store shows there are loads, fishing ones, dungeon ones, weapon and skills in some but none are in the game.
If the false advertising wasn’t an issue I would give this game a 3/5 as it’s pretty decent.

Too much grind
Started nicely and addictive. Then, with 15+ heroes at blue 40 level, it becomes too much of a grind. Whenever you promote a hero, from green+2 to blue to blue+1 etc, they lose all their equipment and you have to get all 6 items again which require, if you're lucky, to rerun a few lower levels to have a chance for it to drop or, more and more common as the hero quality increases, you have to create the items from drops of different levels. Even worse, that process can go on for quite some depth, i.e., to craft one item you need two other items each of which need crafting from multiple drops of other items and so on... You can easily spend an hour just to do constant runs of multiple levels to get all the drops you need, for that one of six items for that one hero... Don't hit promote when you get all six items or you're back to square one... Nice idea, great graphics, boring after a while.

The only game that I haven’t got bored with...
However, it can end up costing a lot if you get addicted. Good graphics and great characters, takes a while to work out the levels and areas, but well worth it. Far better if you join a guild and the discord for the server you’re on, both for you and for your guild as this makes communication and war planning much easier. The guild’s discord servers are essential if you want to succeed, especially in the wars, and contain a lot of useful information plus it’s a lot easier to chat there rather than the more limited in-game chat. The events are usually worthwhile although it can take quite a bit of extra time and some are overly complex.

Addictive but expensive
For reference of new players thinking about starting this game, each hero in here take on average $700 MINIMUM to train up and max out (+ the need to spread out that payment on good deals only slowly over a time of 4-6months daily grinding to minimize costs). There are almost 100 heroes in this game so if you are a min-maxer then be ready to spend a lot of money and time in order to sit at the same level with the thousands of endgame players that are already in the game.

Pretty good compared to other F2P games
The game is pretty straight forward and gives you a lot of options on builds or hero’s you want to grind for. The prices in their store are pretty good also compared to other games which charge stupid prices for what’s basically a high five. The one issue I’d say is valid is that the charge time for energy can slow your progress down a fair bit but it regenerates overtime even off the app so if you forget to play for 2 weeks then your set for life in that department.

Fix skin stones!
Since I’ve been playing they’ve increased the number of skins available by a factor of ten, which would be great, except they never increased the number of skin stones available to upgrade them all. I now own about 50+ skins, some of which which require thousands of stones for just one level, and they’re still drip-feeding the stones out 10 at a time. To make matters worse, the Outlands (where you acquire stones) has the worst UI. In order to do five battles, with raids, against the Outland bosses, it still requires about 30 clicks, clicking in and out of different UIs. Just put ‘Raid’ on the outside please!

Appalling customer service
I have 2 accounts, app and browser, the latter being the main one. On 2 occasions despite playing every day for hours collecting daily rewards every day first thing, they reset before the 24 days schedule of rewards was complete to day 1 hence I lost out by not receiving the higher rewards available on the last few days. Made 3 attempts to contact customer services through their ridiculous autobot system and as a gamer who spends money and already VIP 7 on this game after just a few weeks I thought they must surely respond. I was wrong, not a peep out of them. So both accounts closed and will no longer be spending money with them. I hope nobody has a problem, it will never get resolved. Deleted, their loss.

It’s Pretty Fun BUT
Probably one of the better games of this genre out there. Excellent graphics and gameplay. The 2 main issues I have are 1) after not too long you’ll reach the point where you simply won’t be able to continue unless you spend money to level up. You could do some grinding to do that but I’ve found it takes weeks of that to have any effect 2) the battle system… this is just melee really as all characters fight at the same time… no tactics/strategy once you’re in battle as there’s no control over the characters. I think the fans would be vastly improved by adopting a battling approach more like DC Legends (turn based and controlled). Also you could have special events that EVERYONE could participate in rather than just those in guilds

Downloaded app and read the updated privacy policy which is the first interactive screen you get on initial run.
Wow, talk about wanting everything whilst telling users they need to seek out the relating controls for the third parties that get your data for themselves is a cheek. In my opinion you don’t disclaim responsibly for information you have passed on to a third party saying it’s up to the individuals to check what is happening to their data info.
Sorry I’m not impressed by the intrusive data gathering and it’s wider dissemination of user data to the 15 or so listed affiliates, yes I did look them up and no I don’t want them or their targeted ads coming to me from them and their affiliates.
Game deleted without even being run. What a cheek, there is not even a disagree option or means of opting out of accepting the privacy policy. You have to reboot your device or just accept their policy.
Oh well, I’m out. I won’t lose any sleep over it. Like I really want to provide my data to an anonymous entity apparently registered yet again to an office address in Cyprus.

Changed days
After playing for a number of years and spending a substantial amount of money on this game, they have gotten greedier and greedier as times went on. Offering less and less incentives the deeper you get into this game. Please believe me when I say you will have to spend thousands on this game to get even an average team, or spend decades playing and waiting on getting enough in game free jewels. Please don’t get me wrong it can be fun but you need very very very deep pockets, and with the latest changes they are trying to fleece you even more. I’ve just gotten rid of it from my iPad and I’m sad as I’ve enjoyed it, but their constant changing to make it more expensive is shocking. AVOID

I love this game
I have played the game for years but lost my old Apple ID so had to start afresh. There are loads of things to do each day and whilst spending money does help you advance quicker ... you can reach a decent level and have a good time without spending a penny .. ... it’s all about strategy ... where to spend your resources etc ... ... still play every day and still really enjoy it ... the social factors make it The little gifts on the FB page really can help as well though. Just be aware that the game can be a money pit … this latest event is a proper rip off!

Good game, flawed
This is or could be a really good game, as soon as they sort all the glitches it will be excellent. My main issue with this particular game is that your things will go missing, you will not receive all the rewards it states you get and most annoyingly it takes days to get through to customer support then they fob you off with a pre-written message. Also as I played the game for longer, I’ve started to regret ever spending any money whatsoever on this game.. it’s really quite boring and you know that, the only strong players have poured their bank account in to it, so it’s a game of who has the most money and least sense. The most annoying thing of all is that some players get thousands of free emeralds by completing tasks, but they are unavailable or impossible to complete without cash for iPhone users.

If you like levelling up teams for challenges then this is for you
Either spend money and level fast or play for free and take a bit longer both can get you the same enjoyment definitely worth a go. New hero’s added keeps you interested. And the events are regular to add some variation which keeps you interested. New hero’s being released also adds to the longevity of the game. 24 months on and still enjoying it. Recent changes have upset some of the player base because of the increasing pay to win element for the big guilds but we shall see if Nexters listens and changes things. Addendum: first round of changes from Nexters has helped a bit, let’s hope there are more to come. Rework of the dungeon seems like a good upgrade too. Another new hero added, the upgrades keep coming! Still no improvement on the titans situation though, too slow to acquire dust in order to catch the big guilds.

I like it
It’s a good game to pass the time, love the overall mechanics and it’s not one of those games you cant put down ever. You can always have a break in between which I love. Only issue so far is the news feed. A few of my friends that also played have the same issue but opening it will cause the game to freeze where nothing can be done except to force restart the game.

Hero wars
Great game shame it’s spend to play and keeps crashing when in the dungeon and Outland and tower as well as now normal gameplay! Still keeps crashing guys! So a 2 years on the game is still crashing servers seem to be getting worse dungeon crashes and tower I fail at level 6! Not much good when the prize is found on level 50 yet to get past 15 good game I like it but hate how it’s turning out some guys are so huge due to spending that quite frequently the system can’t pair me with anyone that won’t just wipe me out in the first few seconds was enjoyable now becoming tedious shame really I thought after playing for years I would be further along obviously not spending enough for you to enhance me!

Gameplay is addictive but in app-purchases are far too expensive.
I really love Hero’s!! I have not been able to put the game down since i discovered it a few months back, but it is ridiculously expensive to purchase gems and there are not enough discounts or deals on offer. I am struggling to progress my characters due to the lack of quests that earn you gems, because lets face it, they are the main currency for purchasing extra energy / skill points. Either lower prices or make gems more available without having to spend a small fortune on completing quests. And there also needs to be more EXP potions available in the various different shops/merchants, instead of there only being 1 or 2 places to get them.

really good game lots to do to keep you entertained. needs improvement on guild chat and notifications on new recuits joining your team unless you check the log. campaign mode really good gets tuff after chapter 8 onwards. upgrading is straight forward easy to do obtaining the gear gets harder once you hit the 2nd purple tier. dont let this put you off makes you work harder and more of a challenge. always events on to gv you chance to grow and build a strong team.

Money grabbers
The game is good. It’s a solid concept and the graphics are clean and shiny. But the constant barrage to spend money (and we’re not just talking a couple of quid) is exhausting. I don’t mind spending money on a game, but I don’t expect so many bugs in the chat and adverts (you need to watch these to get more items) when this amount of money is being spent. It’s 2* because of the friendships and activity that happens along the way, but that’s what’s keeping me playing. Not the fact that even if you spent £100 on an event, you still wouldn’t get top prizes. You can’t complain though ... literally ... if you do complain, nobody listens and nobody gets back to you.

Cool game but expensive
I really like the game. Lots of things to do and make your own choices what to upgrade and how to play. BUT Waaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive to play. The upgrading of characters takes too long. It’s very grindy if you’re not prepared to pay vast sums of money - and it’s no exaggeration to say vast when you can buy £100 for chest of gems, which you can spend in minutes but not advance very far at all in the game. A console game for Xbox or PS cost far less for an ENTIRE game. The game is very glitchy at the moment after a recent update. Almost unplayable now.
The high value gem buttons need to be removed or have a confirmation feature to stop accidental selection.

A great game that’s become a daily routine
I downloaded this game about a year ago - I have played it for at least half an hour every day since ! Sure it’s nice to be able to buy a few gems etc but it really isn’t necessary - just log in and enjoy. They do many offers and sales if you want to buy things. I joined a guild and made some cool friends ! If you want something easy to pick up and play - download it - you’ll eventually want a whole team of absolute star players :)

Great but costly
Quite honestly, I didn’t expect the game to be as fun as it was. I was hoping for more of the mini puzzles you unlocked with the campaign but I seems to have ended up being very competitive with the arena and grand arena. The strategy involved is more in depth than I ever expected this game to be.
Buying emeralds is almost a necessity to beat others.
Although it’s becoming a bit more of a daily task logging on each day it’s still quite enjoyable.
Would recommend. Just be prepared to spend a bit of cash!

Only play if you have money to burn
Overall it’s a pretty good game but I wouldn’t bother downloading unless you have plenty of money to pump into it. I’ve been playing for quite a few months and have put money in but it’s still nowhere near enough. Looking at the in game chats people have spent £1000+ and still not the top players because people have spent more. Could be really good if it was easier for non spenders to compete but it’s just not possible. Even when there are offers in game still over priced as they basically get you nowhere. People are becoming increasingly frustrated with pay to win and game is losing players.

Addictive but expensive!
This is a thoroughly addictive game that is easy to become totally immersed in and spend a lot of time and money on. It is foremost a strategy game where the targeting of resources to build up the most effective team is most important, so pure gameplay takes a secondary role. While it seems simple on the surface, there is an enormous amount of complexity and finesse in fielding just the right team to get the best synergy in your own heroes and to take advantage of opponents weaknesses. You will need to join a guild to get the most out of the game, as the most interesting game modes are only available to those in guilds. If you can get a good guild, a real sense of team spirit and community can build up. It is possible to play for free, and enjoy it, but you will soon be outpaced by those players who are willing to spend, even just a little. The players in the very strongest guilds will have spent many tens of thousands of dollars to get there. Nexters are masters of inventing new ways to get you to spend your money.
If you do decide to take the plunge, read up on the wealth of information on the internet first, it will save you making the standard mistakes and save you time and a lot of money!

Long term daily dip in game
So like others (Raid shadow legends) this game is a hero collector and development game. Cuter graphics, not quite so much numbers oriented depth as others, but more accessible and fun. However, prepare for the long haul... you will take months to feel like your teams are making real progress towards the higher levels. But remember it’s the journey that’s important, and this journey is more fun and less demanding of your time than some of the others.

Really fun and entertaining
Honestly I found this game to be much more engaging that I expected. Having seen it previously advertised on other platforms and games I was skeptical that it would be as fun as it appeared. But I was very wrong!
Have only been playing for a few weeks but it has rapidly become one of my favourite games, especially as a break from studying!
If I could provide one bit of feedback, it’s that it’s too quick to go through energy, especially with the number of items you need to gather to create new weapons etc. I try not to spend gems but it’s really tedious.
Other than that great game!

Kept me occupied?
I’ve been playing hero wars for a wee while now and I think it may be something to do with the Covid 19 lockdown but I’ve been playing the game a lot. It’s defo keeping me occupied? Not a bad game give it a go 👍
So I originally got the game in March but believe it or not played it every single day since then it doesn’t take up much time it’s now 3/4 of the way thru September. Now nearly December still playing this game. Now it’s nearly January still playing this game. So now a whole year at the game and I’m still playing it.

Gave it 5 stars until i saw the end
I gave it five stars in the beggining as it looked nice and i spend loads of money on it. But then when i finished level 13 and i saw there was no more levels to do and u just have to repeat the levels it gets so boring. I regret i spend all this money in this game to only have 13 levels. Dont spent money guys because the campaign finishes quick and there is not much to do after that. In general is a good game i just think the devs are a bit lazy and i dont see a future in this game if it keeps like this.

Addictive!
Enjoyable game, with the extra game features that you get for being part of a guild adding a layer of fun. But be warned, while it is free to play (F2P) money needs to be spent to remain competitive unless you’re planning to play very very long term (at least 1 year!) to max out your heroes.
Still only gets 3 stars as the game does have its bugs, which given the amount of money that I know people have spent in game (myself included!) is a major flaw in my view. Game frequently crashes mid battle and when clearing the dungeon. I need to exit the game and reload when there is a refresh (eg end of the guild war day, arena rankings). These are things I feel should auto update even while you are in game rather than requiring you to be logged out for the changes to take place. If it was truly F2P I would overlook these bugs, but given how much money has been spent I feel there should be much smoother game play to warrant a 4 star rating.

I decided to give this game a few hours , I did the “campaign training” and I continued playing till I got at lvl 12 and all my hero’s level 16. So so I wanted to play it though my PC instead of my phone.
But through PC when I logged via Facebook play the game. It was all from the beginning.

Pay to win
This is a really addictive game and do not get me wrong you do not have to payout your hard earned cash if you’d prefer not. Unfortunately everything has restrictive timers too encourage you to spend in game currency in order to progress. There is more than a hint that these are in place to frustrate you into paying. If you’re not careful you will level yourself into being unable to progress because your hero’s will not be high enough level for the game content like for example the tower. My advice is to not collect the daily xp rewards as tempting as the attached hold maybe. You can get this gold inside the tower!

Love this Game
Not often I’ll review a game, but I must say this one has me playing daily. I really can’t not go a day without wanting to play it to keep my team growing in strength.
Lots of cool tasks and missions for you to complete weekly. If your part of a Guild it’s even better.
The only negative thing I would say is the in app purchases are expensive to the point where I don’t think you get enough for what you spend and they don’t really give you more if you become a VIP.
That said I enjoy it enough and just limit my spending per month.

Simply put better than most.
The game is easy to get into and addictive. Micro transactions are fairly priced and not required to play the game to its fullest extent. With bonuses posted on the Facebook page daily you can take your time to build your teams and the guild system works well and even includes cross server competitions that provide more challenges for both player and guild.
As stated in the title this game is far better than most games of same type and well worth the time and investment if you decide to play.

Not what was advertised.
I’ve seen adverts for this game for months, finally cracked and gave it a go because the mechanics of the puzzles looked really interesting. And yes, the puzzles are really fun... but the rest of the game ruins it.
The puzzles are spaced out between what amounts to little more than lengthy cut scenes of the little dude fighting waves of enemies with no real input needed from the player. All you can do is sit quietly and keep tapping next until it’s over and you can maybe have a crack at a new puzzle. Or you just get to experience the same boring fight again and hope there’s a puzzle after this one.
And you do only get one attempt. If you mess it up it’s game over and you go back to the fighting again.
I don’t know if you get to go back to the puzzles later in the game. I only lasted about two minutes of this dumb cycle before I got bored and deleted the app.
If it was ONLY the cool puzzles they use on their advertisements, this would be a cool game - one that I wouldn’t mind dropping a couple quid on, either... but they ruined it.

Should be a four star but ....
Good fun game little repetitive while you build up power etc unless you want to pay to play.
Be warned I have spent some money on chests etc but never received anything new just constantly get duplicates of the few hero’s I already own, so crappy when this happens on this type of game.
Also after getting about 60 / 70 levels in to the campaign there has only been 2 “puzzle” levels to complete ! Considering it’s these puzzle levels the devs use to advertise on instagram it’s a total misrepresentation of the game.
Gameplay is very simple you literally don’t have to do anything during most levels just auto play and slowly level up , repeat levels for more items to power up when you get stuck and keep repeating.

How to be 5 star
This is a very enjoyable and easy came to get into. As time goes on you realise there’s more tactics needed to improve which gives it another dimension. Getting into a good guild is key for longevity as you can interact with your team mates, ironically this is where the game lets itself down a tad. There needs to be a better communication platform to help grow this area as it’s limited, also when building a guild there’s no vetting process so harder to recruit from the larger community or merge guilds or poach other players, this would then get a 5 star rating.. keep it up guys and bring us that update soon.

I like the game, I'm having fun playing it. The people in my guild are friendly and active. At times the PvE is challenging but after I put some time and work into my characters' progress, I overcome instead of hitting an insurmountable wall. The PvP is more of a challenge because other players with more time/resources are constantly training and upgrading, so it stays competitive. The only negative thing I would say is a matter of opinion. Your team requires energy to enter battles; the energy replenishes at a decent rate but if you play a lot you'll hit some down time eventually. On the other hand, if you don't have a lot of free time you can always pop in and do something in 3 minutes or less.

Review
I really like the game. It is as complex or as simple as each person wishes it to be. You can get into the weeds, run a spreadsheet, and test myriads of battle options, or you can play with your favorite heroes anytime. Guilds offer expanded play battling against guilds on other servers while battling other guilds on your home server. I find this side-scrolling PVE (player versus environment) game interesting, but the real fun is in PVP (player versus player) arena and grand arena battles. Expanding on the PVP concept, guilds offer team PVP with fortifications to capture and is based on a point system to win. Ties are possible, and that is why it is addicting because good strategy pays off.

Simple to play, fun game
Many of these types of game have convoluted mechanisms for levelling characters, or an excessive amount of combinations of gear or talent trees but Hero Wars seems to have gone down a simpler path. That makes the game accessible to the masses, not just hardcore gamers and it allows a few minutes of fun gaming every now and then rather than requiring hours and hours of gaming. Great game and plenty of progression at the free tier (not sure whether there’ll need to be purchased made at higher levels as I’m only level 40)

False Advertising
If you, like myself, came to this game because of its adverts than I suggest you find another game to play. Those puzzles aren’t even part of the gameplay, nor are they representative of this game what so ever. I’ve seen a few developer responses stating “they can’t put all the games features into a short advertisement” and “purposefully designing them to grab consumers attention” which I’m sorry to say are poor excuses. You have advertised a puzzle based game and omitted any information to suggest otherwise, which is technically classed as deceptive advertising, which, is illegal. It’s your risk to run, but I suggest changing your advertisements or making the puzzle a more prevalent aspect of the game because someone could easily make a case against you for it.

Great game
Game starts off straight away, you have options to watch videos to gain energy and upgrade items, there’s a load to dl daily and lots of quests to complete. The reason I’m only giving this game 4* is because there is a massive option to pay to play such as using emeralds to upgrade and to buy energy and items, these emeralds are difficult to come by in game and are quite expensive in comparison to how many emeralds it costs to buy items and upgrades in the first place.
All in all it is a great game if you’re willing to put a few quid into it and use a fair amount of patient grinding and not to get overly addicted with purchases as you’d definitely break the bank.

I first gave this game 5 stars. Yes the game play is excellent and fun and addicting. If you want to advance to a decent stage in the game then you definitly need to spend money. Unfortunatly it seems all the extra random special quests they do are all catered for people who spend to actually get something decent and if you don’t well you get rubbish.
This stuff does not bother me, I played the game, I enjoyed it and I occasionly spent money.
The problem is with there customer service advisors. Most are helpful and polite but some are just rude and abnoxious and won’t listen to screenshotted facts. For this reason I’ve changed it to a 3 star rating. You can enjoy the game even with spending a tiny amount but the staff are rude and for this reason they lost me spending anymore money on the game.

Wonder who’s giving 5 stars ratings
This game is nothing but a money pit . This game is just like many others in the App Store but worse almost no content in the game, in campaign i see no hard mode or nightmare mode just the regular story mode . Other games will give you gems as you progress in campaign mode to keep you playing this one the gems it give you is so low that it’s ridiculous . VIP system is another rip off . The game has some major bugs and crashes a lot . The gold you get is also never enough to upgrade your heroes or skills or whatever you need . Completely focused on making people spending money early in the game before they realise that they just threw their money away. No tutorial , or any guide to explain anything about the game . I really wonder how can so many people rate this game 5 stars ...
