I would give zero stars if I could

The app is not fit for purpose. It would not work on my smart TV, so I cancelled my subscription, and because they need 30 days notice, I got billed for 2 months of an app I couldn’t use. Avoid at all costs.

The app works fine but if you are watching the URC and are not Irish or Scottish you end up watching with the volume off as the commentary is so one eyed. The in studio commentary is even worse.

Very poor purchase

Constantly crashes, only bought to watch the nascar races the next day (uk to us times and all that jazz) but crashes after a few minutes of playback for no apparent reason. Massive shame but just isn’t worth paying for something that doesn’t work, haven’t sat through an actual race successfully without issue yet.

I dont mind paying for a subscription when i get the service im payng for. The app continuously crashes, the streams cut out during live games and when watching on demand games it takes forever to load and keeps buffering even though my internet is performing correctly. Havectried on mobile data as well as on other wifi routers and the same issue!!

Do I REALLY need this?

I LOVE La Liga football, and the only way to access the games regularly is via Premier Sports. But: the app tells you’re logged into another device when you’re not; you’re watching a game and the transmission comes to an abrupt halt, never to resume; occasionally there is a weird time lag between the action and the commentary. It all boils down to: why am I paying so much for so little, and why have Premier Sports paid so much and provided so little?

Terrible Streaming Platform

A provider who claims you can watch sport LIVE or On Demand.. anywhere in the UK - Lies.

With an active subscription I am unable to ever watch premier sports On Demand to catch up with my favourite teams or championships. Really poor quality when watching LIVE. App or stream keeps pausing, buffering or shutting down.

Very frustrating as the sport / teams I want to watch isn’t streamed anywhere but Premier Sports.

It’s been over 2 years broadcasting LaLiga and they still don’t offer app for Samsung TVs…

Casting from phone or tablet to tv fails all the time. It constantly jumps back on time and I have to restart the app to fix that! Also, if I touch my phone while casting to tv, the chance of droping back increases massively. It does even happen if I receive a whatsapp, even if I don’t touch my phone.

Air-Play is not an option with Premier Sport?

I am writing here because customer support doesn’t seem to work. Trying to watch the Baff vs Glawster game yesterday and just couldn’t get the iPad to cast to my private TV. Clearly not tested properly

Ridiculously buggy system. Doesn’t work on any browser - won’t log me in and a blank screen when I click on forgotten password (which I haven’t). So I download the app, which at least lets me log in - but then logs me out as soon as I try and watch something. I can’t believe the European rugby rights have been given to these muppets, I don’t know anyone who likes Premier Sports - it is devaluing the Champions Cup.

Terrible for streaming/casting

The app just won’t cast properly. It will constantly jump backwards to a random point in a match and just loop a random amount of time before jumping back. You can’t cast and close the app/ use another app or this also causes it to jump backwards randomly.

Oh and it crashes repeatedly.

Just awful, I can’t remember a poorer experience from a streaming app.

Every time I stream something on this app, around 5 minutes in it will jump back to where I started streaming from. I pay a subscription fee to be able to watch things on Premier Sports, and this app is the only way to do it. The least you’d expect is for it stream reliably.

Like others have already mentioned, an absolutely amateur app for the amount of sports they have exclusively. Sometimes only streams via Chromcast, sometimes Airplay, sometimes neither.

Problem

For some reason they have not tuned the app to remove the time/date/battery bar and white strip at the bottom when you view on ipad, which is distracting as you have writing in the black bars. Netflix and Prime etc do it okay. Bit weird that it loads in portrait mode on an ipad too.

Dreadful

The most buggy and temperamental streaming app I’ve ever had to use - the timeline slider is glitchy, the pause and resume results in jumping forward to the live stream, thus spoiling a whole game being watched on catch-up, and the ability to airplay and cast are unusably slow and jumpy. It’s just truly awful! What hurts is that I’m paying a subscription for this atrocity of an app.

Worst streaming app ever

Was forced to subscribe to Premier Sports so I could watch European Rugby. App is the worst I have ever seen for a paid streaming service, almost no features, rubbish navigation, forced portrait orientation, when watching video landscape is fixed one way and won’t change if you rotate device so won’t work with my iPad stand, no Apple TV app or smart TV app, shockingly poor. Compare this to TNT/Discovery app which has loads of features, works everywhere. Not happy at all.

Actually never bothered writing a review before but trying to watch the investec championship rugby has been impossible on this, whether it’s the picture quality being awful, or it’s stopping and starting frequently, the sound being awful and just in general terrible considering it’s a paid for service. Well organised, but completely unreliable

App is well laid out and really good for finding particular matches from different sports or competitions.

Having the option for full match, 10 mins or 5 mins highlights is great.

BUT…

Casting is terrible. Phone becomes unusable or it will crash the stream and you need to restart the app. Sometimes you might be able to swipe forward, usually not. This happens with AirPlay on Sky Glass, and with AirPlay on an Apple TV device.

No point in having a phone app if it can’t be cast. Please either sort this out or develop an app for the Apple TV device - or better yet for Sky Glass. Feels like a complete waste of money.

I’m an Irish rugby fan so watching URC and champions cup - or at least I’m trying to.

URC coverage is terrible!!

I have the usual issues with casting and app authorisation as others mention. But my main issue is that URC games are regularly delayed by 5 days in appearing in the on-demand section of the streaming service - app links are not maintained and don’t work meaning you cannot find the games you want, or worse they just aren’t loaded onto the service when you want them. I’ve also struggled to change/update my payment details which all indicate that no effort is put into customer service, I would go elsewhere, but you can’t if you want to watch the URC…… terrible service.

Would give negative rate if possible. Don’t subscribe to them it’s waste of money.

App keeps lagging on multiple devices. Absolutely shockingly bad on TV. There is like 5s second delay on every click on remote. When you finally manage to get onto the game you want to watch it tells you that you are watching on different device even if you are not.

Can’t understand how bad this app is. Paying millions for broadcasting right and developing absolutely horrific experience..

Woefully bad

It’s hit or miss if you actually get to watch what’s advertised. We were all waiting with great anticipation for the NASCAR Daytona in the early hours of Sunday 25th August. The live coverage crashed during pre-race build up and still not working 3 hours later ! The rest of the channels were working fine, just the NASCAR live coverage went down and no customer service available at that hour on a Sunday morning or no announcement to us guys who kept relentlessly trying to restore the coverage. Absolutely hopeless. Can you imagine the frustration of subscribing hard earned money to watch ‘Jack-sh*t while the owners are cashing in and not providing the service ?

Scamming service, never use it

I subscribed to watch Euro24, and in result they streamed only a few games. Fine, I started cancelling the service - there is only one option how to do it - via support. I asked to cancel immediately, they said “sure”. No email confirmation, nothing. Next month - I’ve got charged for full subscription. This is real scam. I called them but they did nothing. Incredibly bad service - never NEVER use it.

Excellent App

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews, and I must say that the app works perfectly fine for me. I can airplay to my 2023 LG TV with no problems. I wish they had an LG app or Apple TV app to ditch AirPlay over the phone. Good experience so far.

Terrible!

Since the URC switched back to Premier it’s been a truly awful experience. Having to watch games on the app on iPad or a phone is a round of constantly trying to login20 times until you are forced to accept cookies then miraculously it works. Which is clearly a con. Even if you do manage to get logged in the app crashes regularly, tonight 2 minutes from the end of the game! The spiral of doom prevented me from seeing the final few minutes until the next day after I managed to record it via Sky.

It was way better on ViaPlay, and on the original Prenier. This feels like a bottom of the pile, held together with wire and sellotape, affair now.

Hire better mobile developers.

Last update breaks streaming on iPhone. Stream looks off-centre and no amount of command fiddling fixes it. This is an inexcusable bug in 2022. Do you guys test before releasing???? Do your customers a favour and hire some proper mobile developers.

Also, casting to Chromecast devices is unpredictable. You can spend half of a match waiting for the Chromecast icon to appear. Casting to an AppleTV stops any time you switch apps in your phone, and the stream looks jaggy and low FPS. Frustrating experience.

Picture doesn’t rotate

Frustrating app!! Until recently the picture doesn’t rotate to landscape and in portrait mode some of the screen is cut off!! As a fan of the NHL in the UK I find catching up with the sport on ‘On Demand’ really useful but we can no longer watch ‘on the fly’ using this function. Due to time and not being able to watch every game I find this programme really handy but it’s now disappeared off ‘On Demand’ which is really disappointing!!

App Continually Crashes

I have subscribed to this service to watch a couple of football games this month, unfortunately the app has continually crashed upon trying to load the content on both occasions.

While I was happy to put the first time down to ‘teething issues’ with a new app I have now missed 30minutes of the second game with the same issue.

I’d advise against subscribing and using this service as, for me at least, it’s unusable.

Doesn’t cast to TV and crashes a lot

Really disappointing experience with this App after setting up 1 month subscription I realised that Sky Glass doesn’t have Premier on it….. so, First tried to use AirPlay to LG tv and it kept glitching / crashing. Gave up and tried to watch on my iPhone but that also kept crashing and freezing despite sitting right next to Wi-Fi router and having full signal. Very frustrating and poor user experience.

Put off by bad reviews

I would really love to watch rangers v celtic in the scottish cup but im actually really put off by the abundance of bad reviews,i cant find 1 credible positive review whatsoever its all 1 star and its all the the same issue,usually i just find out for myself if the app is good or not but when EVERYONE says the same thing and rates this app 1 star it makes me put my bank card back in my wallet and not bother subscribing to this service,who even are premier sports anyway,why are good honest football fans getting punished and deprived of a quality service to watch football because some trash irish company won the rights to show these games but they cant design a functional working app,ive got bt sport,ive got sky sports they run smooth but yet this company are incompetent in this field,also this seems to being going on for a long time,another strange thing is the app hasnt been updated in 9 months that alone raises red flags,apps need updates all the time but its clear that premier sports have given up on this a long time ago,you wont get my money im afraid ,i will just go without watching it until a reputable company gets the tv rights

App doesn’t work on IPhone 12

Unfortunately, when the app is opened it freezes for about 20 seconds then completely crashes. Further to this, if it does manage to load to actually input detail you will wait 15 seconds for each digit to register while typing.

Really surprised sporting authorities have allowed games to be moved to this platform as I’ve only ever had problems over the years and it seems to be lacking in moving on with technology. Doesn’t help the game when fans now find it more hassle than ever trying to support their own team.

Frustrating is an understatement

Seriously, this app is infuriating as hell. Kicks me out to the Home Screen constantly and then it’ takes ages to load up again. I’m lucky to get an uninterrupted 10 minutes. I’ve tried on several devices and the same problem and tried streaming through both my Wifi and 4G and no difference. I was watching my team play, last night, and missed the first goal because it booted me out and wouldn’t load back up. I had to do a hard shut down of the app and log back in. The match on Sunday wasn’t much better. It’s the absolute worst.

Cyberpunk Levels of Bad

This app is awful. We’re talking Cyberpunk’s inital release level of awful. It crashes every five minutes on both iPhone and iPad, makes my phone overheat like crazy (iPhone 12 Pro Max) and kills my battery life. Trying to watch Nascar on this is impossible, you miss all the good bits because it’s crashed and then won’t open back up. How can you possibly have created an app this bad? I mean, come on, I’ve seen better apps designed by school kids.

App buffering when Casting

I have still not been able to watch a full match. The app buffers and pauses ever 10mins or so. I have to come out of the app and go back in to get another 10mins. Have sent an email with all my details and waiting for a response back. App is the latest version as is the OS of my phone or iPad as it happens on both. My internet connection is solid full fibre and I am not using a VPN. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling also using the lowest res but still get issues. Seems to only happen when I am casting to the TV which I do with other sports apps without issues.

Keeps crashing

Download the app for first time. Set up my login and eventually logged in after the login screen froze serveral times. Got into the app, it keeps crashing and I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it but it still keeps crashing. It’s ridiculous. Now I want to cancel my subscription and can’t do that properly because the app keeps crashing and won’t let me logout, so I can’t even cancel from the website.

Badly made app with no care taken

This app has all the signs that very little care has been taken over its development. To start, on an iPad, you launch the app and the logo appears in landscape mode. Then, the log in screen appears in portrait mode, the menu following a successful log in also appears in portrait mode, but the content is in landscape. And the landscape orientation of the content seems to default such that if you’re using an iPad with a case, it’s upside down. Cue vigorously rotating it to get it the right way up. You could argue that this is something to do with the orientation APIs offered as part of iOS/iPadOS, but I watch 100s of hours of video content on my iPad and this is the only app that behaves this way.

But it gets worse. Having done the dance to get the content to play in the correct orientation, and the right way up, it streams for maybe a few minutes before the app just crashes. So that whole ordeal, of getting the right content to play in the correct orientation the correct way up has to be redone, like some tortuous tribute to Groundhog Day.

I’m writing this sideways because, lo and behold, it doesn’t seem to recognise that the iPad I’m using is on its side, docked to the keyboard - what must be an incredibly common use case. It’s been this way since the app launched over. A year ago. I’m just grateful the exclusive rugby right Premier used to enjoy have been lost so I don’t have to suffer this app anymore and can cancel my subscription.

Constant crashing

I’m a Barca fan so premier sports is only way I can watch the Barcelona games. Quality ain’t great but not end of the world. What is horrific and needs instant sorting out is the fact the app crashes every 2 minutes and goes back to the Home Screen. I am not paying £15 a month to watch parts of a game. I’ve already missed Piques headed goal and the crossbar hit for first game of the season because of this. The app is terrible and really needs to sort out the crashing. Seriously getting on my nerves as it must be for everyone else. Worst app I’ve experienced and especially for it being only way I can watch La Liga. I’ve also read some other reviews and they all seem to mention the same thing. Before the developers say any generic rubbish, yes I’m connected to my household wifi, not through a hotspot or unstable connection, and yes my app is up to date so no reason why this should be happening. If this continues I will have to cancel. Awful app, do not get, just wasting your money. This is the reason I cancelled my membership last season and it seems they still don’t care about fixing the issue.

Awful App

Bought a subscription and downloaded the app today. Tried to cast to my TV which worked for 20 minutes before crashing. Would only let me re-open the app after deleting the app and restarting my phone, before then doing the same thing again.

Now it’s just loading and not even letting me log in. What a waste of money and totally amateur, never had any issues like this with Sky or BT apps.

Good content, poor delivery

The app is full of on demand action but it is so glitchy. Casting is a joke. If you can even manage to cast to a tv it will take ages and eventually just crash out. Streaming on the phone is ok but scrubbing is horrendous. Why can’t we skip forward 10 or 30 seconds? The manual scrubbing is almost impossible to get right. Really poor delivery for a modern app/service.

A thought the coverage was great for the old firm was fantastic to watch and see all the diffferent opinions on show, only complaint I have of this company is I couldn’t get through to them at anytime on the phone yesterday they were to busy, had to pay for it and watch it on my phone.

App is still not stable.

The app continues to abort after 5-10 mins after starting. The user interface is extremely basic. I cannot watch a full match without restarting the app numerous times. My device has the latest iOS release and my internet connection is stable.

During first execution of app, it actually froze by iPad. No other app has ever done that to my iPad.

Absolutely hideous app

This is my first time ever actually writing a review. This app is the worst I have ever encountered in my 13 years of using an iPhone. On the iPad it’s useless. Trying to cast the video over airplay it always, without a doubt stops as soon as the iPad display switches off. I have to set it to “never switch of display” which has its own downsides. It DOES NOT work in portrait mode!! In 2021!! With iPad Pro’s and big screen devices, the iPad app is basically an upscaled version of the iPhone app.

Just absolutely ridiculous…I’m so frustrated and mad at this app that I came here to write my first ever review…

APP Getting Worse On Each Release

I have an iphone and ipad. Both on latest version of app. Ever since IOS14 came along, i have been able to cast to firestick once when the icon miraculously appeared then disappeared. The option to cast just isn’t there any more. Bring the yellow cast option back.

Watching on iPhone or iPad, i get about 2 minutes of play before the app cuts out and i am looking at home screen.

Those are the problems that need fixed. No need to do standard response asking for details. They are all above

Major Improvements Needed

The user interface on this app is laughable.

It always shows the channels vertically and when you click on the content you want to watch (on iPad) you have to force it to go horizontal EVERY SINGLE TIME.

The options when viewing are light years behind what the BT Sport app offers & even Sky’s offerings. It’s laughable. Play & pause is about it. And that’s pause for a very limited time.

Usually I can get the content to work so it does the minimum required but other than that as consumers we’re better off without Premier Sports. You’ll also notice that the commentators never mention them as if they don’t know they even exist. A few times due to the outdated blackout regulations commentary on games has started 15 mins out and you find the commentary going on as if he had an audience when in fact he was talking to himself.

Without Serie A, Eredivisie & La Liga rights Premier Sports would be history. Please save me the copy & paste developer response as we can evidently see nothing changes despite a sea of negative reviews.

Terrible

Update from previous review;

Premier sports have still not fixed any of the problems. Happy to take the cash and not bothered about actually providing the service! They will reply to this review saying that I need to get in touch. Then they will tell me to uninstall the app and reinstall which does not fix the problem. I’m asking for my subscription back as I can’t watch any content enjoyably. DO NOT BUY!!

For a paid service this is a very disappointing app. Unable to watch content as the app crashes every time 5 minutes of viewing. When relaunched the app does not have a “resume” function. The app only orientates to landscape on one side so most iPad stands wont work.

DO NOT recommend paying for this service until the problems are fixed. Have contacted the developers in the past and their solution was to delete and reinstall the app, needless to say this did not work.

Please fix this soon!!!

Do not buy premier

It is not worth the money. After forcing you to commit to a certain amount of time, it only allows you to be logged into one device. This doesnt only mean two people cant watch on the app but means you have to log out of every account when you are done. When you finally remember to log out it’s a 50/50 chance the app will work and you will get an uninterrupted stream. It constantly kicks you out of the app and forgets you’ve logged out. Awful App, Crashes Every Minute

Pretty disappointed as the tv coverage is meant to be measured alongside sky, BT etc and the app is so budget with the screen rotation/orientation nearly always being wrong and the worst part is the app randomly crashes every minute and you have to restart the app, so frustrating makes it impossible to watch a match. Really annoying as I’ve paid £99 for a yearly subscription and can’t watch anything without it crashing. Never written a review before but feel it’s justified at this expense.

Crashing since a day

Hi, last time was sunday when i watched a match casted to the tv no issues at all. Never had any issues before but today if i click on a channel the app just crashes landing me on my homescreen.

Update: figured out, app crashes on mobile network, working fine on wifi. I think it might have to do something with the update. Phone settings all okay, was working fine before.

Not working, no respons won e-mail

I was quite excited to get a contract to watch the eredivisie. However in the beginning the app would often just shut itself down (about 10 times a match at least) or go laggy. Currently every time I press a match the watch it the app shuts itself down immediately. I have send 4 emails over the course of a few months, but they have never replied although they promise to get back in a few days. Ridiculous.

Worst app ever...and they do not fix it

I’ve been using this app for sometime now as unfortunately they have monopoly for Liga and Serie A so no options to quit them and it is the worst ever to watch sport. It keeps crashing and sometime it even crashes my whole tablet making the whole experience so frustrating that sometimes I give up. Terrible to use

Like other reviewers, the app is horrible to use. Erratic in casting to smart TV. Sometimes it will play fine, at others it buffers constantly and at others it just won’t start. Regularly will play the channels I don’t want fine but not the ones I do. I have come so close to just throwing my phone through the TV in frustration.

Beyond that the app just feels cheap and poorly developed. More like a 6th form project than an offering for a serious broadcaster. If there was another way to watch the games I want, I’d take it trust me

This App is unusable

Got the app and subscription back in august to watch Pro14. Have barely got through a full match without issue both watching on device or casting. And went to watch the match live tonight and the app now just ceases working and closes itself down every few minutes. Happens on both iPhone and iPad so not device fault.

Have tried deleting the app and reinstalling but no joy. Think it’s time to get a refund and pay for it through Virgin Media but defeats the reason I went for the app to watch wherever I am and cast to different rooms.

Very Poor App/Performance

I subscribed to Premier Sports to watch Scottish football and Pro14 rugby. Having just watched, or tried to watch, 90 minutes of football on my iPad, I am extremely disappointed. The game was constantly interrupted by pauses in sound and/or vision, some of which lasted minutes. I use Sky a lit on both my iPad and iPhone and fon’t suffer these problems. As has been said in previous reviews, this is a shame as the content on Premier Sports is good and is good value

On demand is broken, orientation is wrong, live streams crash

Absolutely horrendous app.

I have my iPad connected to an Apple Smart Keyboard. This app forces the menu to be in portrait mode, meaning I have to navigate it sideways, and videos open upside down with no way to display them the correct way up. If you're going to force a particular orientation for no apparent reason, at least make it the one that is the right way up for Apple's own keyboard/stand, not the opposite.

Streaming a live match will lead to crashes every 30 seconds. Typically it will take 4 or 5 attempts to play the stream, experience the crash, and restart the app, before it finally plays the match. Absolutely horrible experience.

In addition, I have yet to manage to get a single On Demand video to play. This is with the latest version of the app and iOS. It tries to load for ages then finally gives up. No error message or explanation.

Poor experience

As per other reviews, I have had a poor experience with this app. Considering it is a subscription service versus free to use ones it should be better.

There are two main issues. Firstly the picture quality when casting is unacceptable compared with other streaming services. Secondly and most infuriating, is the inability to maintain casting. It perpetually switches off mid programme, seemingly for different reasons each time.

This is made all the more frustrating as other customers have reported this issue.

Finally, the app is generally dated and clunky aside from the issues described above.

With such a prolonged break from sport since February, it’s unacceptable that a paid for app is not better quality and more robust. Premier Sports, step up to the plate.

One of the worst iOS apps

I use this app to watch Italy’s Serie A mainly. This is one of the worst apps available on the app store in terms of quality, stability and customer friendliness. App crashes repeatedly, AirPlay connection drops out frequently and you can only be logged in on one device to watch the content. And when you get lucky and everything works, the transmission itself cuts out often. Premier Sports doesn’t stand any competition with BT Sport or Sky Sport. Please, improve on all aspects!

Display and place memory

There is no way to have the menus show in horizontal, the way most people use media apps. The app also assumes you’re going to watch videos in just one orientation and you have to force it to move to another.

The worst thing though is the app never remembers where you were in a program so you have to mess around trying to scroll to the exact place. Ive had many games ruined because of this since I scrolled slightly too far (easy to do on a 3 hour broadcast) and Ive seen the score is different than what it was when I left the game.

Awful platform

Never worked properly, the resolution is always low and regardless which one you pick you will never see a match properly

Go to a pub or pay more and use Sky.

This is a waste of money.

After writing the above I have been contacted by the developer who said the issue was fixed but the problems not only are persisting but it is also getting worse.

I just got Sky instead, cost more but quality of the customer service and the service itself is superior.

If only it would work

I have loaded the app on my iPhone and cast to my fire stick. Have just watched a programme on demand and then when attempting to watch another I get a video not available message. Tried a number of others including the one we just watched and still get the same not available message. Restarted my phone and deleted app and reinstalled and still getting the message. Getting frustrated to say the least.

Not always working when mirror it on TV

I use my app to mirror it on my tv (both direct and airplay), it is always interrupted in the middle. I can’t get a flow playing for the match I’m watching. Really frustrated. I have to switch between 720p and 1080p, to restart it. My WiFi is super fast 1Gb/s speed. Can’t be WiFi’s problem. “Premier sport”! If you can’t do it well, please give Serie A back to BT sport!!! I really miss the old time when I watch it on BT sport.
