Rubbish. Does not work on iPhone. Your annoying popup prevents me from accessing my courses. I can’t get rid of your popup or scroll by it. Sort it tf out.

Worse than no app at all
Seriously don’t bother downloading this app, its painfully slow to load every single page, doesn’t remember where you were, crashes on a iphone 16 pro because the app is so poorly written and has memory leaks and you cant watch anything offline, you still have to be online to play downloaded content? Whose bright idea was that then.
Most companies would be embarrassed to release an app this bad so that tells you everything you need to know about this company and the ones they work with.
Whoever works at Teachable should maybe try taking one of the courses on programming.
Save your money, go to Udemy, they have plenty of free courses and regular sales. Or look up Khan Academy for completely free core subjects.

Borderline Fraudulent
I can’t tell you how incensed I am by this app’s inability to deliver on its value proposition. A particular course I have paid good money for uses this app to distribute content, and ergo this is the only way to stream said content offline. In theory. In reality this app’s offline features do not work in any capacity and every time you lose signal you’re not allowed to do anything within the app. What’s more, offline issues aside, the app’s positive review ratings can only have been by bots because any human being to have actually used the app will have found it borderline impossible to navigate, glitchy, clunky, with varying video quality that almost never is HD.
A perfect example of late stage capitalism where a company has absolutely no interest in providing a good service for its users, doesn’t fulfil its value proposition, distorts market feedback but is perfectly happy to receive money from content distributors. What a disgrace.

Please do not provide your bank details to this company. They have refused to cancel payments on multiple email communications and have reinstated my subscription, even though I’ve cancelled online. They continue to try to take almost £60 from my bank every single day. I have cancelled with the bank but want to express how awful the customer service is

OK app, sluggish & offline doesn’t work properly
The app is okay when you’re with good internet. It’s a bit sluggish and clunky, but you’re usually there for the content (though this definitely discourages me to use it as a platform as a provider). The offline mode doesn’t seem to work properly - even though I’ve downloaded the courses, it still frenetically searches for internet and displays errors when I’m in airplane mode. This defeats the purpose and fails on what would be a key feature.

Missing video content
Disappointing that video content is missing from the Teachable iOS app. Courses have a lot of video content. You can’t consume the courses via the app because of this limitation.
I’m surprised this very basic and essential functionality is not in the app.

I hold a Teachable student account which works fine whilst accessing it via the teacher’s online website Teachable area. However the app refuses to acknowledge my credentials ans i can’t log in and there is no way of asking for technical help until you log in. Absolutely useless. Don’t waste your time. This is like some kind of Beta testing crap.

Just not user friendly
App works, but is lacklustre in terms of functionality you expect from an App Store app in 2023. No auto play, no custom video player to complete and continue, watching on a phone to have to back out and make 6 clicks to continue the course is a nightmare.
Lots of opportunity, but lots of work needed to make it a good app.

I find this app difficult to use. Where are the Settings? Several of the accounts, and hold Courses in that work with Teachable do not show up in my app.! The writing on the app is too small and the colour of the ink too pale, so it is difficult to read. And there should be a contact to us option, so you can directly speak to them and ask them to help you but of course no way

Who designed this app?
Just awful to use. Freezes on regular basis. Can't obviously navigate back to main sections. Not optimised for iPad so looks poor. Downloads fail- just can’t get some videos to download! Unusable and disappointing. Avoid like the plague. It doesn’t even look at good as the screenshots .

Everything going well until…
Aggressive sales are unpleasant. I enrolled in some courses with 2 different schools, that was a good experience. I was then investigating how to find another school I am enrolled with, but through a different email. I misunderstood the terminology and ended up creating a school (in -about 2 clicks), I then received an email saying my 2 week free trial had started. Why push sales this hard? I’m less likely to use this LMS now.

I am doing a course on my computer/ chrome with no issues but on the app the content says “no available” and there’s no way to know if the issue is the app or this specific course.

Nothing works when I download a course
App offers option to download content but it does not work! As soon as you download the video it doesn’t play - even with a stable wifi connection. If I don’t download, it plays fine. Utterly pointless. Also, not optimised for iPad screens… not even a hard thing to do. Developers are obviously happy with a half baked app.

Login issues
The app is great WHEN I can login. It took me 6 months to be able to login to the app on my phone so I made sure that I never logged out. Unfortunately, I’ve been logged out automatically & now can’t get back in again.
Think I’ll delete & not bother with the app any more.

Unreliable if you study while travelling/offline
The website works fine, but the iOS app from time to time refuses to accept your login details which work perfectly fine on the website. Wouldn’t be a big deal if all you had to do is reinstall the app, when you re-install you lose the downloaded course, and have to start again. Even after you successfully login, Some courses then have the error “Oh no! We had some server trouble”. Also the app fails login if you use the iPhone’s secure user ID & password filler. YOU MUST KEY IN those for the app, which means using a shorter simpler easier to guess password!?@
This app was likely designed by a young inexperienced software architect.

This app doesn’t work properly.
I have been using Teachable for the last 10 months - maybe a bit longer.
The app doesn’t work if you sign out and try to signed back in again.
I have been trying to sign in to my account for the past 12 days with no joy.I have tried on 4 devices, have deleted the app and downloaded it again 3 times, I have changed my password 6 times, have reported the problem 4 times within 7 days, however it seems there is nobody on the other side to help.
Not to mention that when we start to watch a lesson if there is any interruption, the video restart all over again.
Since I am not getting what I paid for, and the customer service is NON EXISTENT, I am considering closing my account on this platform.

Worse player than on the web
Unlike when played on the web, you can’t easily skip backwards and forwards, and you have to go into the main settings to change the playback speed which means you lose your place. Very badly designed player.

Why does that app still look so awful on IPad!
I installed this app on my phone 12 mths ago, it was ok but not great. I installed it on my iPad so I could use it on my desk next to my computer and also in the evenings, but the resolution is only designed for phones. 12 mths later I thought such an obvious requirement of functionality would have been sorted, but you can still only watch teachable videos on a phone sized window on an iPad! Sort it out teachable!....please please fix this?

Can’t reset progress
I enjoy the app but I think it’s pants that you can’t reset the course if you want to do it again. I contacted the course provider - the positive birth company, and they said it was something they’ve asked teachable to include in their development

Rarely updated. No 1080p on the app, no iPad support
For those context creators looking to use Teachable, think again.
The mobile app only supports 720 and requires the web client for 1080. The app is rarely updated and no iPad support apart from the old iPhone mode introduced to close the gap on the iPad 1 Steve Jobs introduced.
Lack of commitment to the app is likely to show other issues within Teachable.

Infuriating
As others have repeatedly reported
1. Login failed loop despite using correct username and password.
Select reset password and it takes you in and says ‘you are already logged in’. Bizarre.
2. Not suitable for iPad viewing (seems to be for phone not iPad)
3. No download button (despite others having it)
4. No tech support .. just sends you to the course developer not the app developer.
Hopeless really as these faults have been reported on here for a number of years and nothing done to fix it.

Loading times are unbearably long and unfruitful on my iPad. I haven’t been able to watch any video yet, which is very frustrating as I own several courses on the website. I can’t download them either despite plenty of space. I deleted and redownloaded it several times, nothing changes.

The idea of this app is brilliant - a place where all my purchases internet classes can be kept and accessed in one place. Too bad the execution is soooo poor. 4 out of 5 times I get an error message saying ‘oops we are having server troubles’. I’ve given up.

Listen Up Meditation
This course was exactly what I needed as it combines good theory, solid usable techniques and the oh so important practice to apply apply these learnings and use the techniques. I will definitely use the course as a reference as I progress through my journey in meditation. I can’t recommend this course and tutor enough.

Why on earth is there no iPad app?!
I’m baffled as to why there is no native iPad app? I can’t get to watch things in landscape now so only option is a small rectangular box with huge black surround. It seems bizarre to me that it hasn’t been developed with iPad in mind. Until it does, it can’t get more than 1 star as that’s a huge flaw

It’s OK. Some improvements necessary
I use Teachable to follow music lessons and find it useful to track my progress through the course. A few things could be improved:
1. It doesn’t always switch to landscape mode when I rotate the phone.
2. It doesn’t remember where I left off but if I quit a video and return to it later.
3. I can’t pick up lessons on my iPad or iMac. If I use those devices then I need to switch to the web site and so lose all my course tracking data.
4. There are no buttons to advance or rewind the videos by 15 seconds. You need to fiddle with the timeline to navigate to a specific place.
5. The time is not displayed as you slide along the timeline.
6. You can’t bookmark important places in a video.
Not a bad start. Has a lot of potential. OK for now.

Not for iPad
As others have said, this is a mobile phone application so if you use it on an iPad you’ll be looking at a small phone size window. Not great considering the size of the company that make this and the substantial user base who have tablets.

Does the job and does it well
Really useful app especially when you can download videos to watch on 40 min journeys. Would be great if it had a search bar feature to locate certain things and if u can change video speed during the video but otherwise 10/10

Can’t even login
I can’t even login. My password is correct , as it works on the site, just not in the app.
Teachable don’t even have any customer service- they want you to email the course creator, but the course creator knows nothing about web apps!

Good concept but needs some love
As an idea and vehicle for conveying online learning it’s great. I wonder however if the creators have actually tried doing an online course using it?
I hope these suggestions are useful:
- An iPad version would be great.
- landscape orientation for mobile devices
- app lacks functionality found in the web version for leaving comments etc on modules
- how about a bookmark feature or note taking like audible does for clipping important bits?
- subtitles?
- skip back 15 seconds of video

Good app but missing one major thing
Overall the app is great. Good UI and easy to take your learning with you on the go. However, there is no native iPad application. You are able to run the phone version on the iPad but I personally hate running any apps that don’t work on my iPad natively. I hate seeing the black surround of an iPhone shaped app on my iPad and just wish they had a native version as I would use the app considerably more. I’d much rather watch video content on a larger screen. Will happily rare to 5 stars with an iPad version.

Courses are good but UX not so much
I can’t fault the courses but the interface needs work. The play/pause button is so far in the bottom corner that it doesn’t always register a tap, and often you can’t move out of a subject and back to curriculum. Needs work!

Nice and clear
Gareth is a UK music teacher and so the terms used are UK terms which differ from The US. For me that’s great but beware!
The app has a major flaw (no pun intended), using it on an iPad only gives an iPhone size display, I hope this will be addressed in a future release

Will not let me login although i changed my password!
I just enrolled on to a course that is supported by this app but it will not let me login not sure why? Very frustrating. Also I requested a password change which i did but still same problem, keeps saying login failed although i put in the correct email address and password!!! Not happy.

Slick interface and great way to learn on the go
The app is very slick and easy to use. Their are a couple of bugs with images not showing up, but videos work well. I’m sure that’ll be fixed soon.
