For a free GIF maker, you expect a couple adds. This is non stop!
Then you only get a couple 5 picture gifs before you’ve run out of ‘free credit’. Which it tells you after you’ve made a GIF.
If you want to continue, it’s £8 a month… for a GIF maker!
Save yourself time and money and try elsewhere.

I’m genuinely sick of this type of app and wish I could block visibility of them from the store. It’s clearly designed to drive you into mistakenly entering the purchase flow gif the outrageously overpriced subscription or £89.99 purchase option. Who’s going to pay that to make a gif on their phone ? Except by accident. Avoid at all costs.

Thank you to the developer for their response, which comes down to “the features justifies the price”.
Let me think, other things that cost £9/month:
- Spotify: unlimited access to 70 million songs
- Apple Music: unlimited access to 50 million songs
- Netflix: unlimited access to ~6,000 tv shows and movies.
- Amazon Prime (actually £8/month): Free next day delivery on products sole by Amazon, unlimited access to ~20,000 tv shows and movies, unlimited access to 50 million tracks.
Those are the most obvious picks, but of course those are content provider services, what about other creative tools?
- Adobe Creative Cloud Photography: unlimited access to Photoshop and Lightroom.
Is the developer saying that the features of GIF Maker are as valuable as the features in Photoshop?

I made a gif and made it as my wallpaper and when I click on the wallpaper it doesn't work and it doesn't move my gifs don't move I am deleting this and please fix it cause my gif won't move.

But on the other hand we have an app that is a gif converter(available online for free, even from iphone browser), that is on a 3 day trial and then 10 bucks. What’s next? A calculator app for 20$? Or maybe a flashlight app for 50? This is disgusting that a tier 1 app is the same price as a tier 3(augmented reality) app...

Uninstalled — not sure about the terms of use
When I originally tried this app I saw something in the terms-of-use that put me off and mentioned this in a bad review.
Since the developer responded I took another look. The app itself has been updated and perhaps the terms too. Anyway, I read the terms again and couldn’t find what I objected to before, so I’ve adjusted the star rating I gave. I haven’t used the app any further.

Unusable, so slow
Loading page is quick to load, to show you about the pro benefits. But when you click on create a gif, it take an eternity to open the editor.
I have video editing software on my iPad which doesn’t have any issues. But this app, to create a gif, well waiting waiting waiting.

Even after turning up the quality settings to maximum it still butchers the quality of the video when converting it to a gif. This is good for a bit of fun, but if you actually need to produce a high resolution gif then this is not the app for you

Charged for the trial
I downloaded this and selected the two day trial, but I have since been charged £8.99. I wouldn’t mind as much if the GIF I had made didn’t come out terribly. The quality was awful despite using high quality images to begin with. I understand making a GIF is a balance between quality and file size, but I was seriously disappointed. Doubly so because I was then charged for the privilege.

Couldn’t even get the buttons to respond
Couldn’t even get past the first stage of clicking “create gif” as it just froze and nothing happened. Deleted and reinstalled but not sure if there’s some sort of bug or problem at this time. Either way, disappointing.

One major flaw...
Doesn’t allow you to do one of the most fundamental things a GIF maker should allow you to: having the text popping up at specific moments! For example, during a line being delivered near the end of the loop. You have to create your text in a professional video editor like Premiere before turning into a gif on here. Other than that, it does what it says it does.

After a few days it blocks entry to the free functions through a “3 day free trial” with automatic 8.99 monthly renewal charge. That’s fine. I activated it and immediately cancelled renewal. A couple of weeks later same thing happens. This time I get charged 8.99 to activate what was clearly marked “free trial”. Contact Apple Support. Apparently you can only have 1 free trial - so was charged to activate free trial. However, this is not clearly stated anywhere. Scummy scam. Got money back but really disappointed - it is a great product.

Overpriced and paid reviews skew rating
The app could be potentially great but it’s massively overpriced (same cost as Photoshop for a year when going for a lifetime license for goodness sake).
Also reading the positive reviews are all fake. Short “it is good” style comments. I wish Apple put a stop to this!

This app isn’t what I expected. When purchasing it explains you can tap cancel subscription in setting before your trial ends but it’s not there!! Thought it was all great until I opted for the 3 day free trial and then couldn’t find where to cancel the subscription before I got charged (a stupid amount). It lies that you can do it in the settings- there is no option what so ever on the app.

There are a few decent filters and you can make some poor quality gifs from still images, but you need to pay £4.99 to do anything worthwhile with this app. There are better ones out there that do the same for free.
