Paid subscription review 2/5 🤩
So I have a google email account and had over 60,000 emails to delete! App helped out a lot. But the expensive options are not worth it.
For deleting some files it’s fine but wouldn’t spend more than £2 a month for it! All in that the app works.
Ps. You will still need to do half the stuff manually which is why of the low rating sorry guys! 👎

Don’t do it!!
I spent over £52 to try to sort my emails. This was a big mistake. This app files your emails into its own filing system and even puts some messages into a review folder which is not in your inbox. So you have to go onto the app and allow it into your mail. This has been a massive headache and so much confusing work which isn’t even consistent. I tried to get a refund from apple but apparently they turned me down. So now I am left in a worse state with sorting my messages than before. I am dyslexic and that is party why I’m not on top of my emails but this is very confusing and horrible how it takes over your mail box and has its own rules. I don’t often write reviews but I wanted to save others from the headache of this awful app. Oh yes and I forgot the funniest part. I get messages from this mail cleaning app telling me I need to clean my mail. Today 77 in one of the accounts! Yes 77 spam messages from clean email! What a joke!!

Issues
I constantly get spam and junk emails still even after using filters and “blocking” certain addresses and domains. Most of them go to my Junk Email folder which there isn’t an option to access for in this app

DO NOT DOWNLOAD
Filters out and hide’s important emails at its own liberty. Important email will go unseen and hidden. I regret subscribing sooo much. Even when you ‘logout’ and deactivate subscription it still hides your emails. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT

ZERO STARS
I’d give zero stars if I could. It’s deleted all my emails between 2019-2023. I have no idea how to stop it deleting. I’ve made no rules, it’s done this on its own. There is no menu to choose ‘undo’ or see your deleted items. Also, now I’m receiving no response from the help email. AWFUL.

Two fundamental problems
Firstly, keep newest only lets you trash old newsletters rather than archive them, thus removing them completely from future search.
Secondly, if you receive some newsletters to a google group, it will flag your own email address for unsubscribing. SaneBox doesn't have these issues for example.

This app has been a lifesaver to me, I’m not very tech savvy and this gives me peace of mind.

No support
I paid upfront for 1 year but within days the app logged me out and it will not allow me to log back in. There is no option for forgotten password so I’m stuck. I’ve messaged for support but heard nothing back from the company. Disappointing.

Useful but misleading
Useful app but misleading. Thought it would be £3 a month then for monthly payments it will be £8 thought a bit pricy monthly but worth cleaning all my emails thinking I can then clean all my emails to do more than one email (even thought it didn’t specify different levels of upgrading) I’d need to upgrade to £17 to do more than one email address :( so now I’ve cleared one email address that’s linked to 2 others that I can’t clean and will now all appear on the one email anyways :/

It’s ironic but this app and the people behind it are abusing email by not allowing me to unsubscribe. I’m going to report them to the necessary authorities.

Another ‘free App’ con
I’m always happy to pay for an App that I like, but I’m sick of going through the long process of registering for a ‘free trial’, when it isn’t free at all.
I waited for this App to check and tell me that I had 25,000 emails, and I expected to be able to trial a basic version before deciding whether to buy, but I couldn’t go any further unless I paid. Waste of time.
It’s time that Apple made it clear exactly what we get for free on Apps, because most of them aren’t free trial at all.

Upset and Angry
I tried this app so I can get rid of some emails that I don’t need when I tried to put in my email it said that someone already has the email so i tried using another email and that in won’t work either you should just stick to your regular mailbox it works better

This app is now brilliant
Clean.email is very useful and great value for money tool which I have sworn by from day one of using it. The app was ok... it worked, but a bit too clunky and all around not great so I tended to stick with the web version of the tool... until recently that is when I popped in the app recently to take a peek and wow! Absolutely love what you have done with it! Well done to the developers... you’ve made a great a complete, well finessed and finished solution. Thank you!

Signed up for the free version as a trial but it won’t let me do anything it just keeps saying continue I press it and get back to same screen?

Doesn’t work
This app has taken my money - a yet in advance - and doesn’t work. It says that I should upgrade to use it. I have upgraded and when I click the upgrade button it actually acknowledges that I have already upgraded. No meaningful response as yet from my help requests.

Increased my email storage
Before using this app my google gmail account was almost full. Now I have 50% free storage. Very quick and easy!

Doesn’t clean junk mail.....!
I purchased this app to clean up my junk mail but it won’t do it. I contacted the developers and they say any refund has to be got through Apple and they won’t refund it. I have been charged for a 5 account clean up but only have one account.
Pkease check that this app does what you want before kissing goodbye to your £50.....

Full of bugs - AVOID
Tried the free version. Seemed good so upgraded to full version and it’s been absolute waste of time. Still getting mountain of junk mail in despite supposedly unsubscribing through the app, and it keeps crashing on. Will be asking for refund for this piece of cr8p app.

Why you send newsletters
It just doesn’t make sense. You download this app to get rid of those and then you start receiving automatic emails from the App, is just silly.

Quirky behaviours

Once you learn how to use the filters, this is a really useful tool for sorting out an overloaded mail account. My gmail account has been running for years and had over 10,000 old mails. It now has 3000, all of which, but 37 are in the archive.
I had some teething troubles with getting started and tech support were, honestly, truly amazing. This is a company intend to stick with as I can only see this product getting better and better. One piece of advice is not to rush to set up rules for automatic cleaning until you understand how the filters work.
