A so-so game
This word game is okay up to a point. I find it doesn’t always accept perfectly good English words as extras but then has weird abbreviations or seemingly nonsense words on the grids. Also I have noticed at least two spelling mistakes in the advertisements currently being run for this game which doesn’t inspire confidence in the designers. They need to invest in a good English dictionary if they wish to support their claim about IQ levels and to make the game less frustrating.

Been playing for some weeks now and love this game. Only downside is it gets stuck on ads, then I have to close it down and play something else so it resets its self.. would be nice if you can sort out what the problem is. I play it for myself and don’t want to join teams. It gets the old grey matter working, I’m 84. So it’s a game for all ages.

I bought the ad free version, for most of the time the external ads did stay away….but you get absolutely bombarded with ‘in-app’ ads, constantly.
Since the last update, I also now get some externals creeping back in - so you buy ad free but they ignore.

This had the potential to be a good game. Sadly it’s the worst game I have played for amount and length of adverts. Starts off not too bad, but as you get more into the game, not much more I might add, the ads become much more frequent, longer, and more irritating to close down. Downloaded and then deleted without even playing. Why? Well as soon as I read the Privacy Policy via the initial opening screen link Couldn’t help but note that there’s a lot of “we may” statements covering the use of data and what type of date they want to have, for example the users contacts info. I can appreciate that the individual player identifiers will be needed for aspects such as support and any in game real money purchases etc but a players external contacts information/data is pushing it.
Sorry but the data sneaking is too intrusive for me so I’m opting out.

Love it but annoying
I play this game every day for the daily game and the general puzzle. However, there should be a settling to allow you to opt out of the never ending pop ups for challenges. I appreciate people enjoy these but I can’t be bothered I just want to play the game. Also, it has weird obscure words no one would guess and doesn’t allow some normal words.

Good game, decent number of rewards. I’d recommend paying the small fee to get rid of the ads, after which you will only be bothered intermittently by exhortations to buy stars, which you really don’t need. Note that the spellings are very much biased towards American spellings and several quite common English words are not recognised, even with Americanised spelling. It’s a well-constructed game, however, with sufficient challenge to keep one interested for a good length of time. I’d recommend it, which isn’t something I say often!

This game is really worth installing, it cures your boredom and its really therapeutic! But, there is only ONE MAJOR DOWNFALL...
The amount of ads in this game is terrible! I play this game, get soothed and relaxed, then and ad pops up! Its like you're getting relaxed then you're stressed out again because every time you beat a level, an ad pops up and it generally ruins the whole experience. I would have gave this game a 5⭐️, but because of the ads, its a 4⭐️. But, on a happier note, i really recommend this game! It is a load of fun, but the ads are the only thing that ruins it!😀

Paying 99p for no ads has lost me the ability to collect coins
Love game, just paid 99p to remove the ads which is great, but I’ve lost the ability to collect the 30 coins at the end of each challenge!
One Year later 2021 - I’ve paid £2.49 again to try and remove adds as I love the game, still have ads pop up- come on word connect- sort it out!

Great game
Would’ve given it five stars but for some of the lexicon. Some of the agent nouns are questionable and, unless you’re a Scrabble master, I’d guess you’ll never have heard of some of the words, but if you’re patient and don’t mind a challenge, it’s good fun guessing. It’s also frustrating when several common words have not been included, but it does give both UK and US versions of the same word, so it’s very inclusive. Not having any ads is a huge bonus. Definitely the best word game I’ve downloaded.

I am enjoying the game but, the number of adds are getting to me, one after. Level and another after the reward , I have never played a game with so many adverts, also a lot of the words are very strange, obviously not written my an english person as it’s probably by someone using a dictionary

Update from when I last sent this last review. Can you please sort out the ads. Sometimes they don’t give me the points after watching an advert which is very annoying. Plus trying to press the tiny x at the top hardly ever seems to work on a lot of them and it continuously sends you backwards and forwards from advert to download to advert to download.
Also why don’t you put more recent reviews on your download page. You know 1 or 2 year reviews are not up to date are they.

Why this game is three stars.
When I first installed this game, Word Connect, I thought it was pretty good because there wasn’t that much ads. Then when I kept playing, I found that I was starting to lag and the buttons that I pressed weren’t working. I’m not sure if this problem is just for me but there is definitely another flaw in this game. The ads come on after every try you have and it’s hard to get off them - it’s either install it, or be unable to carry on with the game. If these things don’t happen to you, then this game is really good for those who like strategy, logic and just having fun learning new words! (My dictionary doesn’t work so not sure about that!!) I hope that ZenLife Games can hopefully fix these problems in their game. If they do, a definite 5 star! :)

Podloz?
I have been playing this game daily for the last couple of years and do wonder about some of the words accepted and not accepted. Today’s daily challenge had the word Podloz which, when I checked it out, happens to be the name of a Polish town. The game does not accept the word yam - a common name for a sweet potato but it expects us to put in podloz! At one time you could submit words for the dictionary however that was stopped and now we end up with podloz. I would love to know whose dictionary is being used.

Don’t make purchases
Loved this game but so many negatives! Far too many ads. Paid to remove but they still appeared! A letter hint is 120 coins which means watching four videos to get the hint for free. Daily rewards give you a maximum of 12 coins which means you would have to complete the challenges for 10 days to get one hint. Decided to purchase some coins, ads disappeared but so did “watch video for free hint“ option. I’m now stuck and the only way I can move forward is to buy more coins, which is not going to happen! I will probably install this app.

Constant crashing

The creators did exceptionally well with this one. I love every day that there’s a free wheel spin, and chance to gain extra coins. The design and variation is great with the crossword puzzle. I am highly recommending this game as the ultimate boredom killer... there are words that I never even knew existed...wow...and it’s absolute fun.

I’ve been playing this game for 2 years. Every weekend there is a challenge competition. I know for a fact that on the weekends, you’re playing against Artificial Intelligence. Example: I was in the lead, in first place by 100 points. Within 10 *SECONDS* the "person" in second place had scored 110 points. That is literally impossible for a human being to score 110 points in 10 seconds. I don’t mind losing to another person but I don’t like playing against A.I - as this makes the competition unfair. I’m disgusted.

Amazing for language nerds & bookworms alike!
This app is perfect for sharpening up your English, you learn at your own pace some levels are very quick fire others become more lengthy. If you enjoy learning slowly but surely then you should enjoy this very much.
The only problem I have is the ammount of advertising this app has. Virtually every level or every other level your getting interrupted by ads, so if you don’t mind spending on your app experience then go ad-free.

Good game but flawed
A good word game, though similar to many others. Nothing really makes it stand out, though a couple of major flaws for me. It accepts strange words sometimes and not perfectly ordinary ones. Have had to resort to an online dictionary to find some....also the ads are interminable, much longer than any other free game that I play and so so repetitive. The same ad all day drives me to close the game and actually puts me off the products they are trying to sell. At least put some variety into them.

Entertaining game
I’ve been playing this game for some time and really enjoy it. It’s not like other games where you eventually reach a level that is almost impossible to do. I play the daily challenge every day, and always try to find the longest word, but frustratingly don’t always succeed. It’s good fun, makes you think and challenges your vocabulary. My only minor complaint is that some spellings are American, but that shouldn’t put anyone off playing it - it’s just part of the challenge.

Doesn’t get boring
I download quite a few word games but usually only keep them a few weeks as they get boring. I have been playing this one for many months and still enjoy it. I like the daily challenges and the periodic competitions. None of the silly kiddy oriented stuff, no ridiculous words you’ve never heard of, good reward structure.

Good game, but.........
This is a good brain teaser, but not all of the answers seem to be sensible words. This seems to especially true as your score goes up. I realise that the game should, maybe, get harder as you get better and better scores. But some of the answers seem to be just made up, and some spellings are not UK English or even correct. So you sometimes have to into stupid mode to be able to complete a session. That's why I've only given the game 3 stars. It ought to have more, but it's let down by the silly words.

Its gotten worse but still is ok
I have played the game for about 2 years and can say it is a solid experience in the main levels. However, I more regularly play the daily challenges and don’t like the new 7 parts instead of 5, so might not play them on the way to school in the mornings anymore as it takes too long. Also, the ads are everywhere and it is super annoying, so keep that in mind. Finally, some basic words aren’t there? I don’t understand why there are so many restrictions like that so please fix. Overall, it’s a solid word game but has flaws and I would prefer older versions compared to the newer ones and might not have it for much longer

My husband and I have been doing this game for a long time to keep our brains active. 5 games each session was just enough but now they have increased to 7. We are seniors and have a busy schedule so find we don’t always complete the daily puzzle which is quite disappointing. A potentially good game spoiled
This could be really good, and I only continue to play it because of the challenge, but it is ruined by the ridiculous dictionary and inconsistent rules. Sometimes it expects abbreviations and plurals, and other times it disallows them. Some of the words it requires are not even in its own dictionary when I check to see what they mean. Some words required are so way out they would only be used by 0.01% of the English speaking world and the only way to find them is by selecting random groups of letters until something acceptable appears, while other very common words are not allowed.
If it had a decent dictionary and used consistent rules, it would get five stars from me; but as it is I think one star is generous.
(Added later) I’m absolutely fed up with this ridiculous game that refuses perfectly valid words and uses the most obscure words there are. It’s not worth bothering with.

Love it!
I’ve been playing this game for over a year now and it’s my favourite word game. I love the challenges - from the weekly one which is over the weekend to the seasonal ones and random ones that pop up from time to time. As a chronically ill person (I have 5 autoimmune disorders) it’s games like this that keep my brain ticking over. The only downside is that I sometimes have to go into “master” mode because I have completed all the levels before the next update but it still allows me to take part in the challenges. In “master” mode however, some words will not be accepted, especially 3 letter words - such as ego, ale, err - or 4 letter words with an s at the end - such as pals, saps, raps - which I find frustrating especially if I’m on a roll with my achievements. Other than those couple of niggles I LOVE this game!

Enjoyable game but annoying that it doesn’t recognise English words and spellings even though it claims it is British English, it isn’t, it’s American English and uses American spellings, but even that doesn’t excuse the fact that it doesn’t recognise normal English words. I have lost count of the number of words I have reported as ‘missing’ from the game. It also comes up with words even the dictionary doesn’t recognise and appear to be just random letters put together! Makes completing the levels difficult sometimes and you have to just make up words until something fits. Sort out these glitches and it would be worth 5/5, but not in its present state.

Wonderful word game
I’ve been playing for several months and enjoy the game a lot.
However, recent updates have taken away one of the game’s best features - found words would previously be sorted alphabetically, making it a little easier to find missing the last missing word(s) if they left a gap in the list. With that feature removed, a very enjoyable game has become harder and less enjoyable.

Adverts
I find it quite amusing, if not a little annoying, how the advertisers think up different ways to have us click on the link to their product and how they get the sound to work when you have turned the volume off. The game itself is very challenging and fills in many hours of my day.

Good but flawed
Good game but the irritating flaws spoil the enjoyment. I’ve noticed since the last update that there are so many legitimate words that the game refuses to accept, which is downright wrong. It’s bad enough that half of the words are in American English, which makes it more of a challenge for those of us that speak the Queen’s English. Just now, a level wouldn’t accept ‘wing” or ‘wily’. There’s been so many others that I can’t recall them all. Also, the use of pronouns is inconsistent where some are accepted and others are not.

New rules
It appears that any acceptable word of the correct length is now accepted rather than having to match a predefined set. This results in finding fewer bonus words in the Prize Box and thus fewer points, albeit making the game easier overall.
Dictionary remains peculiar and there are still many inconsistencies with abbreviations, slang and plurals with many obscure words allowed at the expense of some basic ones eg ‘roe’ and ‘gin’.
Only other complaint is the length of the animations eg between the levels on the daily challenge; could these be made optional ? Otherwise entertaining.

Ads are really overlong and pop up between every single round.
I know the developers need to raise revenue from ads from those who want to play for free, but the increasing length of ads and their frequency will soon lose these players and hence ad revenue. Reign the ads in a bit. The game is not so great that it is worth paying for. Obscure words are included, whilst relatively common words often score no points. Just played for less than 1 minute, then 2 minutes of ad, 1 minute played and the same 2 minute ad. When the same ad popped up for the 3rd time in a row, I decided to write this and delete the app.

Frustrating and increasingly annoying
The concept and design of this game is great. But it has a major problem with its dictionary, where many perfectly normal and standard words are not recognised. It has a feedback system to allow the user to send those words to the game designers, but they seem to enter a black hole and the dictionary remains unchanged. Today, I have had issues with the words ‘err’ ‘sett’ and ‘test’ not being recognised.
The game has daily achievements, that are sometimes difficult to achieve because of this dictionary issue. As an example, one of the daily tasks is to clear three levels without a spelling mistake, because of the dictionary issue, words like ‘err’ get classed as a spelling mistake, it makes it difficult to achieve the task.
It is such a shame, because if this problem were sorted (and it seems to be a recent issue), it would be an excellent game.

Great fun
Have been playing for awhile now and still enjoy it.
Although some of the levels are repeating themselves. I am now on level 8589 and have to wait for more levels to be loaded so am missing out on collecting coins as the challenge level hardly gives you any coins. I think that should be rectified. Seems you are being punished for progressing . Otherwise no complaints.

More interesting than some similar ones
This uses a similar formula to a lot of other games where you have to find words of specific lengths from larger sets of letters. At higher levels some of the target words are very obscure, but the dictionary function allows you to look up what they mean, so the game is mildly educational. I like it more than a few similar ones I have grown tired of, as there is more variation in the extra puzzles you can do to earn more points, and the weekend tournaments are fun too. It might be fun to add some time pressure to some of the bonus games.

Great game
I have been playing this for a while now and enjoy my daily fix. It would have 5 stars except that you no longer get your correct answers in alphabetical order which makes it more frustrating looking for the remaining words, especially when there are multiple options. If you restore that function definitely 5 stars.

Very good app but a few problems
Very good app good for learning and lots of other skills I play a game of it every day to get my brain working enjoy playing every day and love this app . The only thing I would say is the words can be extremely hard and the words could not make sense and be in possible to find but accept from that it’s all good and an amazing app 😃

Best word app period!!!
I’ve been playing this app everyday for over a year, very user friendly graphics are great too and I love the new features which has a tournament every weekend. Just please keep adding more levels as I run out occasionally that’s how addictive it is. Also please add more challenges like the ice cream truck😉 I’ve tried practically every word app and word connect beats hands down.

Great early morning workout
Perfect game to get the brain cells activated. There are a few flaws which irritate me, some well known and well used words are missing. Think that hints should be 100 points each.
Often I go days without an opportunity to get bonus points on a standard game. Sometimes it will reject words early in the game and then accept them later.

Good but not great
This app is probably the best of the bunch but it still falls down on poor dictionary sources. Basic British English words are often omitted and obscure American English words are included. You will find it difficult to build up a clean score of correct words as simple words you think should be included are not recognised and so you fail to get a bonus for continuously correct spelling. They have also recent removed the ‘suggest a missing word’ tab, they were obviously getting inundated with suggestions for correctly spelt British English words that they never had any intention of including in their dictionary. Over all, I like this game but it’s no real brain-teaser.

Fantastic little game!
Stretches the old grey matter and is ideal if you like word games. I also like the daily challenge and the various targets (such as complete n levels, collect n bonus words etc), where you receive awards for meeting those targets. Many hours passed playing this little gem! Very good balance of ads too.
Just one minor problem I am experiencing is when I attempt to double my award at the end of a chapter (eg from 150 to 300). The ad seems to crash the game and I lose the extra 150 - about 3 out of 5 times in my experience. Similar thing happens when I attempt to watch an ad to double my award from collecting bonus words. Thought I should feed this back.
Update: the reward at the end of a chapter has suddenly dropped from 150 to 40. A bug? If not and it is deliberate, I find this slightly alienating and also it completely removes the incentive to watch the extra ad to double what is now a paltry reward.
Still, just a minor issue and a drop in the ocean in what is otherwise a great little game!

Missing words
Hi, I absolutely love this game, but sadly, it frustratingly sometimes does not accept words that I have found within the letters displayed, it only allows for words that are programmed in... every level, if I find a word not listed I have to send off to let the program people know, it really should have a “bonus” word found and an in-game coin prize to be won for finding extra words... otherwise it is a great game! Could do with a few adjustments as suggested....x 👍

Good game, still got flaws
This sets the grey cells ticking. It does have some word list flaws though. Many straightforward and legitimate words are missing so when trying for a level with no misspellings I often find that it is impossible because a relatively easy word has been omitted and is not recognised. Add to that an inconsistent use of proper nouns, some accepted and others not, and this makes for a frustrating game some of the time.
In the instructions it says that abbreviations aren’t permitted but then allows “etc” is classed as a word when it is an abbreviation for two Latin words “Et cetera”, so not sure how that works. Also “Reg”, “rep” and “sci” are allowed when they are shortened I.e. abbreviated terms and not full words on their own. There is a function for reporting words that are missing. I don’t know if it works, the same missing words continue to be missing in other levels.
Despite that it is somewhat entertaining.

Brilliant!
I’m really loving the game but could you please include something like ‘number of bonus words found’ In each round? Everything about the game is great apart from that...and the fact that some real words aren’t valid. ‘Nil’ is one that comes up all the time. Even if there was a feature where players could suggest a word to you guys so you could include it if it’s legit. Keep up the good work, I’m really enjoying the game!

Pointless spins and lacking consistency.
I receive an advert after the completion of every single level without fail, which is very tedious when you can complete most levels in a matter of seconds. Also come the end of every chapter, my spin bonus has been 012, 013, or 014 every time. What is the point in having a spin up to 999 if it never yields more than 20? Perhaps mine is just bugged but it really reduces the playability of the game. It also doesn’t recognise some words that are genuine, and does accept some that aren’t.

Brilliant Game
I start every new day with Word Connect's Daily Challenge. It's an enjoyable and sometimes difficult word game that rewards you with points, it encourages you to earn your own points without the need to continually purchase points like other games. I love the Crossword Challenge too as it provides a different way to guess the words required. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys word games. Thank you programmers, I think you've created a super game.

Best game
Thanks for downloading this game. I really enjoy playing this as you get to use ‘Hint&’Shuffles if you’re stuck.. Also you get more coins to earn throught playing ....
I recommend you to do some more working on this game to try and improve and get more challenging words
for us to guess and get them right . But so far it is excellent ... Thanks for doing and making this my best day as i was playing it .

Review
This is a really good way to teach children how to spell words my kids play on this app for hours. If you like candy crush you will like this because you have to find the words like the sweets in candy crush. Also there are a tonne of stages so it will get harder on the way. You can also invite friends and you can spin to coins. This app also gives you hints to help you out on a hard stage so don’t use them up too quickly.

Fabulous
This is one of my favourite apps to this day as it really makes you use your mind to work out the words. You can certainly lose yourself in the world of words once you start and I find myself challenging myself to gather as many points as possible. If you want a game that keeps you immersed in the world of logic this app is for you and it's free!!
