It’s inadequate in 2024 for a loyalty scheme app to have no Apple Wallet integration allowing you to store your loyalty card in Apple Wallet.

Would prefer that coupon plus is not time limited, so that 10% off your next shop is precisely that, instead of expiring in 7 days. If going on holiday for instance, an opportunity is lost to be rewarded for previous shopping trips which is a bit disheartening

Employee at till 6 today 16th Jan at 1pm at Chineham branch was so helpful and explained all the offers on my Lidl plus card as well as everything else. I had no idea and am so excited!!.
Have now put my shopping list on and suddenly another offer popped up for free item from the bakery!
I’ve also activated the coupons and I’m looking forward to see what else I get next time. I have shopped for quite a while in Lidl and this is going to make it even better.
So well done Lidl and well done that lady on the till.

Since updating it now crashes or always makes me login again each time I open the app, usually while I’m trying to pay so I either hold up the line trying to get it to work or have to pay without using Lidl plus. How about letting us add our card to apple wallet because loading it in the app is so unreliable?

The Lidl plus app makes shopping a pleasure. I am 81 years old and always forget to take coupons out with me, but with them activated on the app it doesn’t matter. I don’t have worry about keeping paper receipts, they are all on my phone. Wonderful - thank you Lidl.

It would be better if you forgot phone that you could claim discount or get them added later on.
Also can we PLEASE have the small shopping baskets back? With the large pully ones you can’t judge how heavy your shopping will be if you’re walking or getting a bus and the elderly with their own shopping trolleys have both hands full! It’s too easy to trip over these large low pully trolleys.

I purchased a chicken Caesar salad on 9 January 2024. Part of the chicken had small bones in it.
A dangerously small size. For Lidls this was quite poor quality control. Otherwise we shop in Lidls 3 or 4 times per week and are happy with what we find. Although we miss some of the products that were available when Lidls first opened in Warminster.

You spend for coupons.. They’re only good if it’s something you actually want which obviously most of the time it wont be. They expire quickly. And you need to spend £250 in a MONTH to get 10% of your next shop. If you’re a smaller household, you’ll never do that so it’s actually really unfair. All your spending is effectivley wiped each month. Why can’t you just get points and keep them and then use them off a shop when you want to? (like nectar/sainsburys). Why even go to effort of making this app when you clearly don’t want to give back.

I activated a free item from bakery coupon before going shopping today .Looked at the items included , chose one and added it to my trolly . It wasn’t debited from my bill . I have now been given a second coupon ( I’m guessing because of what I spent today) but what’s the point if the item is not debited from my bill ?

OK but a bit clunky and gimmicky

I like the digital receipts, even if they are unreadable if shared through E-mail, necessitating using a screen shot to claim expenses or otherwise account for a particular shopping expedition. The coupon information is also helpful, easily identifying the applicable products, even if they are often not stocked in my local Lidl. On the other hand, the existence of scratch cards in purchase summaries does not get properly updated after the card has been scratched. In fact I find the scratch card very annoying - why not just present the coupon if there is one, and nothing if there isn’t. The current process is just a complete waste of my time. I notice that nothing really has been done about the scratch cards since the previous version of this review. Maybe most Lidl customers enjoy spending futile time on the scratch cards rather more than I do.

Just been to Lidl in Barnsley at Townend and have come away wonderfully impressed by one of the staff members on the checkout there.
On entering the store I was drawn to an excellent deal on red wines and put two boxes of 6 into my trolley and then finished my shop.
After putting my shop through the till the cashier asked if I had activated the voucher for the deal with the red wine. Even though I am a regular Lidl shopper I am not great on the Lidl app and didn’t know if I had or not activated this particular coupon.
The cashier was so lovely and informative showing me how to use my app and even though I knew she would have been incredibly busy, she took time to show me what I needed to do.
This lady went over and above with customer care and I truly believe she is the nicest cashier I have ever had the fortune to come across. I think she deserves some acknowledgment and recognition for the fantastic service and her actions making her an exemplary member of staff for Lidl.
I didn’t see her name badge but she had red hair and was working at approximately 3pm on Sunday 3rd December 2023.

We usually shop at Aldi but as there are certain things that Lidl do that ALDI do not we chose to shop at lidl. It was a pleasant experience in the roomy quiet ambience of the new store in Harlow. The check out staff member was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our main reason for shopping there is the fresh Sough dough loaves, the Australian Pino Grigio and the Fetcha cheese flans. Where Lidl are lacking is the poor selection of soups and sardines in tomato sauce. There is one but it is spicy ?I chose mackerel in tomato sauce instead we shall see? In addition, microwave oven rice packets were absent. So whilst I will return to Lidl, it does mean that we will also have to do a second shop at Aldi for the items Lidl do not stock. Having said that, on occasions we have to shop at Tescos for items that neither ALDI or Lidl stock.

LidlPlus Update

Mrs Luisa Malik

No more free bakery, no £2 coupon, no more free product item and no 10% discount either. All because of the updated LidlPlus App that run on iOS14 which my device are not compatible. A fantastic trick by Lidl . Will go to Sainsbury from now where you get point to redeem against shopping in the Store.
I can no longer use the App on my iPhone or on the iPad, both devices use iOS 12.5. Introduction of updated version of the App requires iOS 14 or later which is not compatible with my devices. Instruction states download an older version of the App. Unfortunately any older version does not download as sated. Does it mean I can no longer use the LidlPlus App anymore, and stop shopping at Lidl ? I suggest Lidl should bring back the older compatible version of the App that works on
iOS 12.

Only use occasionally as it’s 6 miles away but little incentive to travel specifically. Often, validated Plus coupons do not work and recently 2 “you tv have won” LIDL Scratch Cards failed to nnnnrkridentify a benefit and on the expiry day both just deleted from my Plus account. Staff were unable? Or too busy to help prior to the expiry. Two stars are for the good value received when we do use.
Now downgraded score to a single star. Attempted update of sriiro called uprated App. However, this decided it needed IOS 14 or more which older I phones do not update to, to load to. This “improved” update then got stuck in a closed loop; cannot update, won’t revert to previous status, deleted App and reloaded but no improvement, won’t open the Plus Card and earned vouchers now time expired and no doubt lost. Ergo no incentive to use neatest store some 6 miles away.

Can’t use LidlPlus

In store go to app - need update, can’t update as not got latest operating system. Go to update latest compatible version and nothing - left with app on my phone which o can’t use as I can’t get past the update screen.
Had a reply from developers- can’t use unless have at least IOS 14 - why don’t they read the review rather than just replying with stock statement! The review speaks about you can use the latest compatible version, which you can’t because as soon as you load it it goes straight to the update screen! Either stop saying you can used the latest compatible version ie on my phone it’s IOS 12, or change the update screen to add a button to say up date later. Simple, but if the developers going to reply at least read what’s written and reply to that. If the developers got an older version of IOS pre 14 just try and download the app and see what happens - not rocket science when you’re testing software!

App no longer works on my phone although AppStore says it does.

I have been using the Lidlplus app ever since it started with no problems until now. My phone is an old iphone6 so only runs on iOS 12.5. This has not been an issue as updates requiring iOS 14 have been bypassed and the AppStore lets me keep my older version which works. However, today I go to open the app and there is an update, I follow normal procedure and AppStore says the update is not available for me but I can use the older version. Great, but no. I then open the app direct from the store and am met with the update message again. Ok. Delete the app I have and try again. Does this work? I am able to download the older version but when I try to start it I am again told I need to update the app. Frustrated, you bet. I know I can get my points added in store by using my phone number but if I cannot open the app to use the coupons or money off vouchers it seems like a waste of time. I should not be forced to carry my large iPad with me just to use an app designed for the phone. Please fix this and remember that not everyone has or can afford a new phone just to accommodate your app update.

Hi! I really enjoy shopping in Lidl’s. I use the Hanwell, London W7 store as it has more manned tills than West Ealing. I don’t like using the machines with my Debit card so I mostly use the manned tills. I’ve even made a friend of one of your colleagues. She’s very very helpful. Food is lovely and I have bought many items from “Lidl in the Middle”. I did have to phone your Customer Services and after a time the voice asked if I wanted anything else. I said I wanted to speak to a person I was then transferred to a human voice. He was very helpful too. One more thing: You have a shopping list on your main Lidl App which I use but it would be more useful to have a shopping list on the Lidl Plus App. Sorry for the long spiel. Sandrea.

What fantastic honest staff at Horsham branch- two gold rings fell from my husbands hand( he’s had a bug, lost weight!) we discovered when we got home, we went straight back to shop, retraced our journey from car to shop and shop, just in case? I asked for store manager- that’s what your helpline said, one colleague asked another, anything in safe? Then my husband come towards me all teary with the two rings, one was on the floor beside the till area, the other your assistant had just been handed it by a previous customer!
These rings are of such sentimental value to us, one was my mums original wedding ring,75+ years old, the other is our original wedding ring, 50 years in May. Thankyou so much. You’ve a great bunch of lovely people working very hard at your branch, always helpful and kind, thankyou very much!

I found it very annoying to earn my 10% off at Christmas because I bought a lot of stuff only to find that my hard earned discount had expired before I was able to use it. I think the discount should be available until the end of the month that you earn it in. Honestly it sours my usually good experience in Lidl and made me go to Aldi for the rest of my shopping that month even though they don’t have a loyalty scheme.
I have noticed that Aldi have a tic tok guy showing everything they offer in the middle. You should also do this. I would also suggest that you also get someone to do cooking tictoks using your ingredients. Especially the more unusual ones that we don’t know so well in the uK. And especially when you have featured foods. MaNy times I like the look of something but I don’t waNt to waste my money on a new food that I might not like but if I saw it cooked properly and looking delicious I might take a chance on it.

Today I was shopping in Lidl in Finchfield Wolverhampton where I shop every single week and spend a lot of money in the store the assistant did not ask me for my Lidl Plus card and as I given over money I then said to her you haven’t asked for my card and her attitude was well. I’ve put it through the till now and I said yes okay but you haven’t put my points on or deducted my vouchers that I’ve saved for this weeks shopping and her attitude was well. I’ve put it through now. Not I’m so so sorry which would’ve gone down much better with me, then just dismissing it as though it was nothing so eventually she called for the manager who I might add had a right attitude on him today as well When I questioned it, his face told 1000 stories. Oh my God, another complainer which I am not just very annoyed regarding this transaction, so I asked if there was anything else he could do. Yes I can put all your shopping through again. He said ! unfortunately, I would have made him do it just for self-satisfaction for his attitude, but I had to be somewhere else in 10 minutes time and I haven’t got the time to stop and do it just found this rather annoying even the guy behind me outside the store commented about the managers attitude and facial expressions because I apologised to them for holding them up in the queue while I was debating about this transaction! Not very happy about this!

I’ve noticed a gradual decline in the quality of food, particularly fresh products. Before Christmas veg- parsnips etc in local Bridgwater store selling at 19p, in date but slimy in the bags. Well past their best and other items very similar. With the decline of fresh produce, I’ve now started shopping in Aldi and products infinitely superior.
Staff- always a lack of availability and in busy times when we need checkout staff the tannoy is constantly closing and opening tills. Very frustrating. However I like Lidls for self service - when they work and manned properly- you need someone on them full time otherwise the benefits of self service are outweighed waiting for staff to resolve issues.
Vouchers- great idea, love them but they need longer grime before expiry. I can only afford to shop weekly and rely on lifts to get to town and vouchers expire before I have chance to use them.
Finally when you have very special offers, particularly items advertised on tv, WHY have I got to travel 80 miles to my nearest ‘ large’ store to have an opportunity to buy them- and that’s if they are available ? Don’t penalise local stores and rural outlets. We don’t all live in big cities and have the luxury of large stores on our doorsteps.
Hope you see where I’m coming from?

Deb

I am a Lidl plus customer but usually buy my frozen products from Iceland especially fishfingers for the kids, I bought Lidl premium pack of fishfingers this week and all 4 of the kids said I love the new Birds Eye fishfingers amongst other frozen produce I’ve purchased, not only the frozen food , the salsa which are easy made are excellent value for money and half the price of other supermarkets, I am a disabled chronically ill shopper with no chance of recovery and on a good day I can just about manage Lidl, the staff are always polite and friendly more than once they have offered to help me get the groceries to the car and if a product is missing off the shelf a staff member will go and look for me, TY Lidl for your excellent customer service and support for all your customers.

I always shopped at Lidl for both the family and ax weekly charity we support We found the old system of £10 off £200 spend more of an advantage than the new system.
We are also disappointed that there are so many shortages in our local store especially for the regular standard food that we buy for charity. We moved to Asda.
Also. I was very disappointed when I rang to speak to someone about our regular weekly shopped , the advisor just said that there was nothing we could do about getting the same weekly supplies. The charity is for Ukraine volunteers on the front line and as you can see from our records our bill would be approx £42 weekly.

Not happy with you changing it from £10 cash off shopping when you spend £200…. And changing it to 10percent off your shopping…. By the time I get to spending £250 ( which I’m not bothered about that going up ) but if I’ve done a big shop and then get my 10 percent voucher it’s not worth very much off a small shop( few items) and it’s only got a shelf life of around 6 days and might be before my next big shop so it’s worthless 😫😫 and in these times we need a little help ….. I use to like getting £10 off shopping or if I didn’t need a big shop I use to buy a a couple of steaks for a treat with it or putting it towards a bigger item ( kitchen appliance/ home item) 🤨 it’s put me off using Lidl plus and even shopping there ,, which is a pity because I like shopping there but now tend to try Aldi to see what there items are like … would be lovely to go back to original offer of £10 .. please take note cause a LOT of my friends feel the same ☹️

My Shopping at Lidl is relaxing to say the least? , my wife still don’t understand my reasons for volunteering to do this weekly shop? , she’s been quizzing me for such a long time that it’s getting embarrassing for me to come up with more excuses whilst enjoying the weekly episodes in my local Lidl with shopping ventures ? The Staff are friendly and helpful to the point that I feel so relaxed to think of new and wonderful recipes of my days ahead for meals The only answers I have for this is come to Lidl and shop,”See for yourself” I have weekly bargains on a regular basis , you cannot fault the staff or prices of products, such a great start to my weekend and I love going shopping it’s as daft as it sounds?? Thanks to Lidl I enjoy my weekends more now than ever before. A1 Satisfaction 👍Guarranteed…Thanks Lidl.

The Lidl Plus app would’ve earned a solid 4 stars before the autumn. What changed? Lidl got greedy and changed the points scheme. You basically have to pay an extra £150 per month to get the same benefits a £200 shop would have earned you previously. The new reward - a free W5 cleaning item - is not a worthy replacement. It annoyed me so much I deleted the app.
It has always suffered technical problems. Scratch cards which were worth prizes would freeze my app for 12 hours and I would lose the reward (and unable to use the app). I tried to sort it out with technical support but this lead to nothing but frustration, so I ignored the scratch cards entirely, and the subsequent rewards. Not that that matters now!
Lidl - you can well afford to continue with the old scheme. Greed has lead you to spoil what was a very good and genuinely helpful app. Choosing to do so during the cost of living crisis is an added insult.

Whilst shopping in your new Gillingham store today we were very impressed with a young chap that went out of his way to find the polly pocket toys we came for but our pleasure with the store was spoiled by our till experience all three of us are disabled there was no one at all using the self check out but we wasn’t allowed to use them as we had a trolley we explained we have to use a trolley because of my daughter’s disability but was told it isn’t policy, there were queues at the 3 checkouts that were open so had to wait quite a while to be served even though there still wasn’t anyone at the self service till’s, maybe a policy that could be looked at

I love the Lidl app and the reward system and the varying coupons…. But in this time of rising costs and shrinking wages…. Why change the reward system you had? Please bring back the £10 reward with £200 worth of shopping in a month. Many don’t have a budget of £250 a month to then qualify for a 10% off one shopping trip. If you’re feeding a big family then maybe you do have a bigger budget , however I think many are like my husband and I and we have a budget of £50-60 /week maximum.
Overall Lidl do a very good job and offer good quality foods at reasonable prices, but even I have seen the unavoidable price increases due to global pressures from Russia/Ukraine and the side effects of that.
Please try and think of another goalpost perhaps that could be added to the reward system…. We need all the help we can get!

I like Lidl. They have helped us through some hard times just recently by offering keen prices on many of their own branded products. The app works well and the rewards are useful BUT even though I have spent the required amount and earned my money-off vouchers, they are taken away from me if I can’t get to a store for my next shop within 7 days! This week, my shop will be 8 days after my last, meaning that I will loose my ‘£2 off’ and ‘Free bakery item’ as the vouchers will have expired! Once you have earned these discounts, they should NOT be taken away after such a short time period! I don’t mind the other product discounts expiring but please, not the spend-related discounts. Other supermarkets don’t take away your loyalty rewards so Lidl need to up their game in this respect. Thanks.

Love the store. Love the products. Love the staff. Fallen out of love with the rewards. The new 10% discount after a £250 spend is probably great if you have a large family. I don’t and probably me and my spouse aren’t alone in that way of living. We shop exclusively at Lidl and we think we should be able to set what kind of discount we get when. The tenner off after a £200 spend suited us. This new system doesn’t and in fact seems to reward 1) bulk buyers and 2) bigger spenders. What’s that about? Surely you have a wider base than that or do you just not want my business? Think about it - let the customer choose what kind of discount structure they get and be sure to keep people raving about you. Fail to reward diversity and loose the high street battle. Remember you don’t sell fuel…
I’m really upset at having my rewards taken away by this so called update. It really does amount to quite a big bit of Lidl less

I have shopped at Lidl for many years. Despite regularly not finding basic products such as tomato purée and olive spread recently, I have remained a loyal customer. A main incentive was the £10 and £2 off after you have spent a certain amount. That incentive has now gone. I have found it cheaper to shop at places like Tesco whose reward scheme is fairer. I also have lost out on points because of poor internet reception in my local store. I forgot my phone on one occasion and was falsely told I could redeem the points by ringing customer service. I regularly queue for an unacceptable period of time, which puts me in a lot of discomfort with my leg disability. Staff will frequently open a till when there is a big queue but not prioritise the people already queuing. I have found some staff very rude and lethargic. Due to shopping at Lidl being an unpleasant and no longer cheaper option, I shall not be doing my weekly shop there any more.

I’ve spent all of my life shopping at Tesco. After constantly moaning about their extortionate prices I decided I needed to shop around. I tried Lidl and decided I would share shop. I’d buy a little in Tesco and then drive to Lidl. Last week I entered Tesco and saw that the Tesco bags had gone up from 20 pence to 30 pence. I immediately approached a Tesco employee who happened to be management. I told him that at this present climate the decision to put the bags up 10 pence was an absolute disgrace and that I would never shop at Tesco again. I’m a bodybuilder who spends £120 on food ALONE. I now spend that in Lidl and get £10 off my bill every month. Well done Lidl for at least making some kind of effort. Please don’t spoil it by following those thieves in Tesco.

Have been a customer of Sainsbury and M & S since “Nelson lost his eye”. Only recently checked out Lidl simply because, in my opinion, I believe the major supermarkets and manufacturers are taking advantage of the global inflationary situation by flagrant profiteering. Your prices on branded products are in many instances significantly lower than the “big boys” and the few “lookalike” products that I have purchased from you are just as good as the major brands. From my initial experience in using Lidl I am fairly certain that my loyalty will switch, like many others to yourselves.
My only criticism of my local store is a somewhat “scruffy” appearance (display of products, general merchandising, restocking etc ) however this is offset by the helpful floor staff and extremely efficient till operators and of course the pricing and quality of the products. Well done - I will be returning - a convert 👍

I think some of your till operators need further training on customer care/ service.
I shop alone and find it difficult to keep up with the till staff when they are piling my shopping up in a small space. There’s no thought when piling cat food and cleaning products on the top of food items.
I have regularly asked the till staff to wait until l have caught up with them and l've been told numerous times they will wait at the end for me. Unfortunately for them I don’t pay until my shopping has been packed otherwise the next customers food is then piled up.
In addition it’s rude having conversations with other staff members whilst serving customers.
With regards to Lidl products the fruit and veg is mouldy 2 days after purchase so I’ve had to go back to Asda or Tesco for half decent fruit and veg.

I was told about the Lidl plus app and decided to check it out and I love the concept and some of the features it has.
However, I went to use it for the first time and made my payment before I got my Lidl plus app out and missed out on scanning the App to keep an eye on how much I’m spending through yourselves, which got me thinking, I wonder how many times this has happened to customers or how many times customers have forgot to scan the app and missed out on points.
Quick solution…. There should be a way to scan receipts on the App so customers can take full advantage of what the app has to offer and keep a full log of all shopping bought through yourselves ✌🏼 food for thought 😊

Scarcity of some frozen foodstuffs

As a frequent Lidl customer, there are a range of foodstuffs I purchase regularly, as they are my family’s favourites. I have noticed recently that some freezer cabinets in both our local Lidl stores have been less than full, particularly the ones usually housing the Greek/Spanish/German frozen goods. I realise the particular items of which I am thinking may be ‘specials’, but as is often the case, they are the ones we like the most, and they are unavailable elsewhere. The two I always look for are potato croquettes with an Italian filling and particularly the hasselback potatoes, which are excellent. Apart from this minor criticism, I find the Lidl brand and stores to be excellent. I also have a garage full of ‘Middle of Lidl’ hardware and tools that I never realised I needed, and yes, they do all get used repeatedly.

Today for the first time the Lidl app actually worked. No really I’m not making this up …
I should of course thank Lidl Bognor for getting its act together but now that it’s registered! It seems it wasn’t worth it ! .. 2%. If I spend 100 per week ? I had moved over to Aldi as the staff don’t gossip on the tills and the vibe is much better! Decent bags are also available and their food is better value
But I really like the bread in Lidl and was in a rush so back to Lidl . my spend of £70-80 last week didn’t register again and it didn’t surprise me . The lizzy dripping on the counter just said customer services ! Previously a young man ( possible manager just asked for my phone number and sorted the dodgy app/ dodgy Wi-Fi that way …
I also notice that I won a scratch card for a token off something I don’t use !! Lovely .. I would personally rather you scrap the app and use the money for staff training or buying paper bread bags that actually fit the loaf your buying !! It’s a small thing but as it’s your only advantage over Aldi I would make the small effort needed. Can’t believe you actually need to be told this basic stuff

I’ve been unwell with post-Covid fatigue so after visiting doctors I needed cheering up. My husband kindly drove to the newly opened store as we’ve been looking forward to Thomas for over a year.
The experience really cheered me up. I’ve got beautiful flowers on my table now to look at, from Lidl and they last for ages. In store I saw a tiny little baby being carried by his dad, so I asked to see the child’s face and he was a proud dad, coping magnificently with shopping as well. What was really cute were the mini trolleys for kids. The mums were friendly as I laughed as the little girl was throwing goodies into her trolley. I managed to get halfway round the huge store before I felt too tired, so we headed for the till. The man at the cash till was chatty and helpful as I got my electronic Lidl card scanned.
We love the items we got from the bakery, and I’m now sitting down enjoying these with a nice cup of tea and looking at my flowers in the centre of the table.

I wish developers wouldn’t be so utterly pedantic about phone numbers! Is there a reason you need every single piece of personal information about me? This is an application for a shopping app not a passport or a bank account. Many people still do not have mobile phone signals at their homes and landline numbers should be acceptable to you if I cannot provide a mobile phone number. Instead, unless I can provide a mobile number the application can’t continue. What about iPads? I can still have an app on there even though that has no phone number? If you can’t send coupons to my mobile phone please send them to my email address which you also asked for. Would you make information harvesting less intrusive and more practical requiring less of my information to yet another company that will be hacked before long!

Always check for updates. I love Lidl, I ain’t gonna lie. However this app is just too sometime-ish. I was robbed of my £20 discount after spending £193 in a month. On three occasions, the app decided it needed to update when I got to the till. Despite being wrapped and surrounded by Wi-Fi every day, the little bugger didn’t update then no. 810 update when I’m at the till. As I don’t have a roaming, plus the signal in the store is rubbish a perfect storm of disappointment emerged. I was so vexed by this I swapped to Aldi‘s. I’ve now returned to Lidl‘s BUT if this happens again I’m leaving. The worst of this is I couldn’t get an actual person to discuss this with. All the stupid online circular websites did not aid to any issue resolution. If you looked at my freaking app thing Lidl plus, they could see that I’ve spent the money and that it was there now saying zero. Have no idea why they couldn’t resolve it. I’m still vex.

Quality is good, however tolls are a nightmare, there’s rarely more than one open so the queues are extensive regularly, an example this morning was an immigrant with little English brought shopping to the till but then demanded a refund on an electrical item that wasn’t working properly, the girl on the till who was very young and not very confident was intimidated buy the customer.
She should have said take this to customer service but she felt obliged to offer assistance creating a 7 minute backlog us on that till, nether her or the guy on the next till didn’t know what to do. It was painful, I was ready to walk out and leave my shopping on the belt.
Her name was Emma and whilst she did her best there was no supervisor support to be seen anywhere. When eventually getting through having spent £55 plus I swiped my card and she said yes thats gone through and on arrival at home there was a screen message saying it hadn’t and try again !!!!.
Not impressed , you need till supervision if someone is newish like I believe her to be .
I will be interested in your response

I swiped my Lidl reward card heard the clip of it registering it only to find it had not been logged against my card. Asked staff in store who told me to phone customer services, very nice person who then informed me that even though I had taken receipt back to store and they said it look like my card had been accepted I need to send a picture of receipt so IT dept could investigate . When I explain I didn’t know how to that, she apologised and explained it was the only way. I consider this to be discriminatory against the less tech savvy. Yes I am over 70 and only have a smart phone because my daughter bought it for me. Unfortunately she doesn’t live with me so could not help. Your store staff in my local store are great, they have this year alone run after me a couple of times when I’ve left my wallet by the till, kept my keys safe when I dropped them around the store they are a great bunch of people but the problem with the reward card must have a solution .

I am an 87year old widow with a large family although on my own now. But have to say I swear by my shop of Lydls. I first became aware of this store years ago in Portugal when visiting my daughter and family so have been a Vregular customer for vast number of years and you just cannot beat it for value and value for money selling lots of things at excellent taste and best prices etc other supermarkets don’t. I visited Asda yesterday with my daughter at Eastbourne /local to me and a large store/ who initially wanted the post office (which I am sad to say you don’t have them in your stores or petrol stations) and couldn’t get over the much higher prices for Ordinary things. For instance a large packet is sage and onion stuffing was £2. Ridiculous when lydls sell a packet for 29p say x 2 = 58p. That’s about says it all in favour of My best favourite store at Polegate supermarket and have been telling my family and friends about your stores for years. I won’t go on any more as you will get bored but for overall and ALL the products you sell in your wonderful stores you cannot be Beaton for products and value for money. Sincerely 👍Anne Spencer. I visit twice a week Wednesday and Friday every week at Polegate ASpencer

The lidl plus app is probably one of the slowest apps I use, I have to try to remember to load it before I shop as I tend not to use it otherwise, due to its painfully slow load time. I would hope they would do something about it like putting the barcode into apple wallet as most of the time all I want is the card to scan at the till. If data is down for whatever reason in store then the app is useless and your shop will not register as you cannot access the barcode without data, this has happened on a number of occasions as I don’t know what the details of the store WiFi is. I would say it is pretty good for a first effort but lidl need to hire some more experienced app designers to rid it of some poor design elements

Money off vouchers each week are good, bit annoying that you have to activate them and quite often for things I don’t buy. Once there was 20% off the full Crownfield muesli and granola range but it didn’t come off the muesli I bought from the exact range-there was nothing the staff in store could do or the customer services which I phoned!
The £2 coupon allocated on £100 spend and a further £10 off £200 are good incentives, but they don’t last long so can easily be missed-and you have to remember to save and activate the coupons.
I don’t get a bubble with the number of alerts and/or messages on the icon I have for the App so often miss them.
All in all it’s an ok App to have-and definitely better than having loose coupons in your purse/wallet.

The principle of reward for loyal Lidl customers is good, however, the silly details as in, having to activate offers, leaves me for example very annoyed. If by chance this is forgotten then the whole point of the benefit is lost! I found myself buying goods I didn’t really need at the moment to reach the £200 goal, where a £10 reward is given. There is a short opportunity to redeem this without being able to spend it on my wine and beer grocery portion, which has been a major proportion of my Lidl’s shop since they first opened shops in the country. This whole small mindedness leaves me feeling manipulated and stupid as it feeds on my greedy nature to save money and I find myself shopping more at ALDI as some sort of revenge for my frustration. I have been a big vocal fan of Lidl but this scheme treats me like a child and I’m going to vote with my feet and not play this game! Come on Lidl, you are better than this! Show it !

Been really happy with the ap and shopping at your store but very disappointed that having spent over £70 on my shop on 1st October to find app was down phoned to report my loss of points on the scale for this month I was told that nothing could be done and I would have to apply for them on the 1st of November which means I may not get my £10 voucher for this months spend. Was given a reference number and told to send copy of my till receipt on the 1st nov as mentioned above confused as to why nothing can be done for a month. Appreciate these things can happen with technology but surely it could be rectified in the month it occurred and not even being dealt with until a month after I had phoned. I obviously still want and will shop at your store but feel this could have been dealt with within the month it occurred.

For 11 years we travelled in our motor home: the last five years of which we lived full-time …. exploring Europe and shopping in Lidl.
We love Lidl products and were thrilled to find the core products in each country we visited….in particular we love the on-site bakery products, Gold Coffee, wines, Lidl gin, beers, hygiene & household products and fresh, fresh local produce…. the list goes on… each country sold produce of the region and it was so exciting to try new tastes and flavours.
Imagine how thrilled we were to find the weekly “FLAVOURS OF THE WEEK” in England, bringing us products we have discovered on our travels.
My new garden is a picture: all thanks to the range of plants Lidl has been selling (at brilliant prices) since spring.
Sadly age has caught up with us and our nomadic lifestyle has come to and end. As we knew all along, we have had to settle down… and are now back in England… so imagine our joy to find a brand new Lidl less than a mile away on the outskirts of Andover!
All our favourite Lidl lines, wonderful wines from all round the world, British staples and the icing on the cake:a Lidl Loyalty scheme on our mobile phone…. Rewarding us for shopping with them and offering weekly vouchers based on our store preferences.
Why would we shop anywhere else?
Lidl is definitely “Lidl on price” but the quality is superior to any other supermarkets’ products of a similar price.
Bravo Lidl…👏👏👏

After purchasing a power too for £130, I used the register the receipt on the app before paying. I then paid
I then purchased my shopping which came £88, the Lidl cashier said I would be able to use my Lidl coupon to pay for the shopping so to do this.
I then tried to use the expect £2 off voucher which was not viewable on the app, so I paid for the shopping, I asked if I could register the receipt, I was told by the cashier that I could do after paying but to call customer service and they would be able to help. I did this and was only able to listen to a audio recording as opposed to a person that could help. The customer service did however tell me to register the receipt in store, therefore, I have lost a lot of faith Lidl’s customer service, told one thing store different on audio record on customer service. I would appreciate if someone could register my second receipt so that I claim my addition £8 coupon.

I used the app once with no problem but I have tried it twice this week and it wouldn’t load instore. I’ve deleted it and downloaded it again twice to no avail. I have lost out on over £85 worth if spend as there is no other way to record a store visit if the app doesn’t work. From conversations in the store it seems I am not alone with this experience☹️ I have since managed to open the app but I now have another complaint about Lidl Plus. I went shopping one day earlier last week and I tipped over the £100. However, this week my £2 coupon runs out the day before I am due to shop. Why does it only last a week? I am now going to miss out on their coupon as well as not receiving a coupon at the start due to the app not working in my chosen store. Despite writing to customer services informing them of my spend which was well over £100 I have heard nothing. This Lidl Plus card isn’t working for me and is making me feel ripped off by it.☹️☹️☹️

No back up when it’s refuses to work

It took a while for the app to actually work properly and I was able to get coupons etc including £10 off as I’d spent £200 in a set period. However, I won’t manage it this month because when I went through the checkout it would work just kept trying to load even though I was logged on to Lidl’s own WiFi. All the coupons I’d activated I couldn’t use (now expired) and my shopping total won’t be added to my app. The guy on the checkout had no idea how to get round this. You need to be able to add your purchases manually when this happens and you don’t seem to be able to. Since it’s launch I’ve only managed to make it work 4 times. Nice idea and that bit needs some improvement. My advise is use it but don’t rely on it for savings, as it might just not work when you go through the checkout

Timings

Overall Lidl Plus is an excellent addition to the quality and value associated with the Brand. My only criticism is that the “timings” of the “£earned” vouchers and “promotional” vouchers is too short.
In normal times a few days may be fine but with Covid Restrictions and Guidance there is a move in shoppers guided by the advice to “shop less often”. Certainly in my case. Bigger Baskets bought more infrequently are the norm. Same level of monthly spend but not every day or other day. This means “losing out” on “earned £vouchers” - that is related to overall £value spend - as well as promotional vouchers. Don’t lose the respect and custom of your “biggest fans” by annoying them over small points of timing.
There is an advert on TV (another firm) denouncing the “voucher schemes” tied into restrictive practice. Take not LIDL may become associated with the awkward voucher squad!
Respectfully yours
Philip

I have had the app for about 2 months, I downloaded it as soon as the trial opened. Never once have I been disappointed about how it works, I got my £5 off a £25 spend straight away and since then I’ve received a scratch card each time I shop at Lidl (I’ve won £2 twice) and I’ve received another £2 off when I spent £100 within 90 days.
The app is really easy to use, you just have to remember to activate your coupons before you go and to remember that you can only use them once.
All my receipts are stored on the app as soon as I checkout.
The recommendation I would have is for Lidl to link up their win £100 competition on the bottom of the receipt so that if you enter it using the app you don’t have to go through the name and address part every time.

Could do better!

Although I like Lidl products, I am disappointed with the new shop in Coleford. Most weeks, I have been overcharged for products with a reduced sticker or items that have been on sale but are back up to full price & the ticket hasn’t been changed. Fruit goes off very quickly or there is one item in a bag already mouldy & mangos completely black inside (they’ve been frozen!)
The new app is great but there is only very poor reception in the shop so unless you wave your phone around by the door, the benefits are lost. All these things can easily be rectified with a bit of care. We are all struggling through covid-19 and grateful that supermarkets remain open but we still deserve good service and honest pricing.

I was very disappointed that on the first visit after downloading the app it was not working in store especially as I had spent nearly £50. I got the phone number( via one of the assistants) & tried for a couple of hours to get through but it was hopeless. What made it worse was that the tannoy was pushing the new app & when I commented on it & asked an assistant why they didn’t turn it off they said that they were unable to. After working for over 31 years in retail I couldn’t believe it & actually felt really sorry for the staff as they must have been getting “comments “ all day from customers. If you haven’t already got it you should have a facility in store for customers (or online) to add the purchases that had not been added. Especially as you were advertising it so much on TV & in the media , which must have cost a fortune.

Brilliant app when you have signal 👍

Brilliant app the only snag with it is that when the store you shop in hasn’t got any signal you can’t load the app up, to check you have activated you coupons. That and you can’t load the Lidl’s plus card. I would recommend taking a screen shot of the card and add it to your favourites in your pictures, so that if you can’t load your card you can at least go to your pictures and scan that.
If you wanted to develop the app further I would recommend being able to access the card with out the need to go online. Other than these problems The Lidl’s plus card has saved me approximately £24 ish give or take a few pence in the first month of use. Highly recommend the app well done guys.

Finally, we’ll done Lidl - just what I had been hoping for for AGES

I have been a very loyal little customer for years as I do live very close to one of their stores and almost never shop for a family groceries anywhere else. I am really happy that customers like me are getting rewarded for their loyalty with this new app. It’s easy to use and I really like now having an easily accessible preview of their offers before I head for my shopping trip. Well done Lidl - I love the app and I’m I’m sure I’m not the only customer that does. That, coupled with the friendly staff in my local store in Bearwood (Bournemouth) - especially a chap called Dave, who has been working there since I ever remember and had great customer skills -is a winning formula!!!!

App still not working after test stage. Not replying to emails

I downloaded and used the app for the first time during the test stage and, ok, you expect teething problems, however I have never received a scratch card nor a digital receipt. I emailed about this and was told it would be sorted by the time the app goes officially live. Even now I have never received a scratch card, digital receipt and “coupon plus” does not register my purchases. I have emailed Lidl and have only received a reply to say a response is delayed and that was 2 weeks ago. So not only is the app shocking but also the customer service. Such a shame as a loyalty card for a discounter puts it in the same ring as the big boys, but it needs to work like Clubcard, Nectar and the likes otherwise it is pointless!

Great food, great value

I used to use Lidl in Germany and was so looking forward to Lidl setting up in the UK and I must say, you have not disappointed me. I can now shop for fresh fruit and vegetable at a reasonable price. The fresh bread option is an added bonus, and there are so many foods I had not been able to get before. The staff here in the Norfolk shops are all very friendly and helpful, but I class my Sprowston Norwich Shop to be absolute superstars. I can not thank them enough for making my shopping experience a pleasure at all times, especially during the lockdown period, when some shelves were not so well stocked and customers were taking their aggression out on the staff, although some staff were shaken and subdued by this, they always remained friendly, cheerful and above all very helpful.
I love shopping here.
