The app makes accessing and booking shifts so easy! They use a wide variety of companies and independent pharmacies. The app has great features as well that allow you to filter your required criteria! Any issues I have ever had they have been very useful on the phone

New update = poor
New update is terrible. All the shifts do not load. Not user friendly anymore. Filter option does not even work (for example if you only click on mon-fri shifts, it still shows weekend ones).
And most importantly, cannot access “worked before” shifts which made life so much easier when wanted to look at new shifts in regular stores.
Rates are terrible too with poor negotiations.

Pretty easy to use however negotiation doesn’t allow for more than 7 pound generally, it makes you question their intent! Other platforms allow for unlimited negotiation.
The app also continues to allow companies to post shifts despite having a history of locums who have had trouble receiving payment.

The old layout was great, I could find all the shifts I am used to and there was loads to apply for. The new layout has ruined that completely, there’s hardly any shifts available/ showing up. I am definitely changing the agency i use, can’t find any shifts on this stupid update.

Notifications and Radius need support
Hello
The notifications from employers do not lead to anything. If I receive a notification that an SOP has been created, I would like to access that SOP through the notification. Another notification was about an Update Post - I need to be able to find that Post through the notification.
At the very least, the notification should also include where to find further information.
I’m really enjoying the new filter options. The only issue is that the radius is not accurate.
I have put a 30km radius from my postcode and a shift from 36miles(58km) has come up.
Love the direct booking option and the Diary.

Cannot find my usual shifts
Due to the shift search redesign I can no longer find the shifts I am used to work for the past 2 years. Terrible update. Considering moving to a different service due to not being able to find work.

No negotiation
The shifts that are advertised here are always lower than other agencies. It almost never lets you negotiate and even then max £7 more. This app is really about the pharmacies controlling the market and does not allow pharmacist any say on what they should ask for.

Price fixing
They obviously collude with the big pharmacy chains to fix the Locum rates on offer. Even negotiable rates are all fixing. I saw a shift set at a lower rate when to another Locum agency about it and got a higher rate

Continue to advertise companies that don’t pay their locums
Steer clear from locate a locum. Not only do they offer the lowest rate with no means of negotiating or cap the highest amount you can ask for, but they also still advertise companies that do not pay their locums for the services they’ve provided. I’ve been waiting 5 months for payment from pill box and when I went to look at their google reviews they have a long history of not paying their locums. Surely locate a locum must be aware of this but they still allow them to advertise the shift knowing what we’re in for. They don’t care about locums as long as they get their cut. This is a platform I have no faith in and I don’t recommend anyone else putting any trust in them as they clearly don’t vet the companies beforehand.

Good but some bad
Best thing about this is the calendar- ability to, at a glance, see your shift. Very good app all round.
Very glitchy with recent updates. Can’t enter a date in my calendar for working elsewhere properly, it only allows me to select two days minimum?
At times I’ve picked up that when selecting where I’m working in the “my diary” it assigns the wrong shop. And to fix this I have to delete the entry and start again.
I mark in my diary I’m on holiday but the app still shows shifts for those days and have in the past book myself in via the app while I was actually marked off or on holiday- big issue.
Ability to delete/clean up branch/location histories should be implemented.
Ability to add mileage £ when adding “working elsewhere shifts” too.

Bugs
App was perfect and had no issues, recent updates render the calendar useless as you can’t add outside shifts without it taking up at least 2 days. Also having to sign in everytime is frustrating where this was not the case before. Other than these two annoyances the app is great and makes things really easy. Just need to iron out these bugs and should be fine

Overall it’s a decent app.
Easy to book shifts and keep a track of what you have booked.
Issues: logs you out every time - maybe a current version bug
Removal of negotiate tab - every shift should have a negotiate tab. Locums are free to charge what they want, a company can reject it if they want to. There should be no “max rate” on a negotiate tab either. Potential compliance issues with IR35 if locums cannot offer their rates and are set by companies at a fixed level.

Lots of positives and a few negatives
On the whole I've had a great experience with Locate a Locum and tends to be my first choice.The app has been easy to use and the vast availability shown has been great as well as being Aesthetically pleasing although I've noticed there have been an increasing amount of bugs in the system, mainly with the filters and search functions where not all the information expected is displayed which can be a little frustrating. It seemed to work a lot more smoothly a few months back but having said that generally it's still very good for my needs. Keep up the good work and I'll be hoping for bug fixes in the near future!

So far the best locum agency
This is more generally about the company than the app itself.
The good side is, the app clearly shows the most important information that you need before deciding on the shift. The response is quick and success rate of securing a shift is good. If they have a build in call function, that would be better
The down side is they should allow negotiation for rate and mileage which is available if you are booking direct with the company the agency covers so they are missing out on this. They should also provide a “ask a question “ or “nudge” button to get everyone a shift. They should also have an alert function that sends email when a certain shift has its rates changed.
I know they design in a sway to avoid double booking, but they should let the detail down to the hour. For example, I can’t take another shift starting from 18:00 even if I got a shift only for 08:00-17:00, which means I and employer may miss out since I cannot apply after my shift ends, when most shift coordinators has ended their working day. This is a feature they should change asap , especially when there is “a national shortage of pharmacist “ as pharmacy owners says, they should make it easier for hard working pharmacists to do as many as they can and want.

Bring Back the old version
I just updated the app and it’s in a very poor state right now. None of the functions work and also the ability to filter by pharmacies have been removed. It only loads a total of 20 shifts and now I have to use the website cuz the apps broken.

Used to be good, not anymore
I used to use the agency while it was a fair and square system to match up locums with employers, now the agency is giving me feeling of they’re just acting in the best interest of a big company trying to control the rates and the way locum works (non-negotiable, no mileage, unpaid breaks, expected to be flexible to cover other stores)
Personal experience- I’ve had shift cancellations due to incorrectly advertised, operation hours changes. Been told to cover emergency store shut on my advanced booking lower rate by a big company. Also they couldn’t help me with overdue payments due to error made by the big company (I’m still trying to chase this up)
I’ve given it two stars, it’s has clean and good interface, but lousy rates. For the other companies I found better rates by signing up to mailing list and negotiate with coordinator, or by joining locum groups on WhatsApp/telegram

Why do people love a man in the middle that works for corps to cap their rate. You can’t negotiate anything, and even if they allow, it’s capped. It is an illusion that you are negotiating. They are basically stealing your money, it’s simply a scam

Just searched for shifts nationwide and search results gave zero shifts. Changed it to 60 mile radius and there are 200 shifts. Some kind of bug going on since update!

Best app around
Easy to filter and sort shifts, very handy for keeping track of successful bookings and organising my calendar, and the agency staff are helpful too. Locum apps in general are quite poorly designed and sparse in suitable shifts. Not Locate A Locum. Although it’s not without one or two bugs, on the whole it’s a far superior experience to anything else I’ve tried.

Don’t bother joining this
They refuse to take responsibility for payment! I haven’t been paid for a shift I worked at boots since October- it is now December! I sent my invoice to locate a locum and every week have been chasing them up. I was told everytime we will get this sorted and I still haven’t been paid! Pathetic!

Not bad so far
I’ve only just started using the app and so far it’s been okay. I’m just getting used to the area that has more shift. I haven’t done any shift with them yet as I’ve just signed up. But I so far I think I would do it online for now.
Hopefully I’ll give a positive review when I’m all in and I’ve found their agency to be good.

Great app as it is easy to use with plenty of shifts to sign up for. Would recommend for any pharmacists who are newly qualified and do not know where to start when it comes to agencies. Also good because you can filter by rate, location and companies!

Best app to use as locum pharmacist
I am a newly qualified pharmacist. This app is one of the best apps I have used!
Summary of benefits:
-tells you details of the pharmacy (location, shift hours, rate, and most importantly it tells you what pharmacy system they use!)
-able to negotiate your rate
-has a diary function to keep track on my shifts
-good customer service (i have put a query in and they replied within a day)
What I like the most about this app is that there are free resources and locum webinar that are very useful for me as a starter :) I highly recommend this app to book your locum shifts!

This is Godsend app for locums, absolutely easy to use. Signing up with this locum agency was super easy plus the staff are very helpful. Brilliant!
I have been using this app to book my shift, it has been brilliant and very easy to use. It will mark your diary once your shifts are booked so you will not forget. Locate a locum works with many companies so gives you a lot of options and flexibility to book your shift. Also- you can negotiate the rate through the app which is a bonus!!! Overall, I’m very satisfied.

If you want an easy to use locum agency, this is for you
By far the easiest platform to use. User friendly, good support team, quick responses. Some of the nitpicks I have:
- The app itself is for the most part a web app, so it is just as fast using the website to book shifts.
- When they’re busy, I’ve had some awfully slow responses from the support team (as long as 1-2 weeks) with consistent nudging for a response.
- Negotiations capped at an extra £7ph from the listed rate. Mileage is non-negotiable. Most other agencies and/or independent pharmacies don’t have caps. Always negotiate for your services!

Super helpful
Super helpful to see all available shifts and rates without needing to log onto the desktop version each time. User friendly interface and app runs smoothly. It would be great if it synced with the iPhone’s calendar though - having to double enter details is a pain.

Good and useful app!
I actually prefer using this app to book work as I can’t get double booked and can see pop up notifications if successful- the diary with address and pay details are also very useful to have on hand. A big bonus would be if I could sync with other calendars.
I really like the new negotiation button for shifts, however, does have its limits ( only allows hourly pay negotiation) I would have preferred it to allow for other things eg. comment section for full mileage/ lunch pay etc.
Also would like it if the filter for shifts did not require to be applied every time I use the app.
Overall, easy and simple app to use and prefer it to emails and phone calls.

Great App!
This app is amazing and so easy to use when it comes to applying for locum shifts! The rates for a locum dispenser are pretty decent and there’s always the opportunity to negotiate if you wanted a little higher rate! All the information you need is there for you (rate, lunch break, map etc) and to apply you literally click a button! So easy and highly recommend!

This app is super useful in finding and locating shifts as well as applying for them. I would definitely recommend using it. The calendar feature is so nice and helps keep track of shifts that you’ve done. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I think it would be nicer if all shifts had the negotiation feature whereas only some do at the moment.

Best Locum agency to work for
I love locate a Locum! Firstly, signing up to them is super easy! Secondly, they are super friendly to work with and their app is easy to navigate. I love how easy it is to apply for a shift and they are always there to help. They also added a negotiate function which is super convenient when you want better rates! I’ve worked as a Locum for years and I only book my shifts from them, as I’m happy with their service and find their app convenient. 100% recommend

Good & room for improvement
Useful calendar to keep track of bookings and earnings however needs to include unpaid breaks as a field. Negotiation feature is good as you can bid for a number of shifts on the same day and not be double booked. The implication that cancellation negatively affects your profile needs a further look as locums get work through other routes before a booking is confirmed on Locate plus situations may arise as with any other working person that may necessitate a cancellation. Could a booking have an option to sync with phone calendars and could negotiable shifts have a flag on them instead of having to drill into each one?

First time locuming, it was easy to know what documentation is required prior to starting any shifts.
Since using the app I have found it very easy to book shifts. It calculates minimum lunch break already so you know how much you will be paid.
It would be best if app was linked to personal calendar.

I really enjoy using this app! Everything is clearly laid out and very easy to plan and organise shifts. I like that it gives a monthly summary of the shifts worked and the money made.

Excellent locum platform
I absolutely love Locate a locum. The app is super easy to use. The team are always available when you need them. For example one time my car broke down and they were so supportive and helpful. They contacted the pharmacy I was working at and made me feel so relieved.
The calendar is really helpful to keep track of shifts as well as the chat function.
I also love the emergency tab on the app so you can literally look at last minute shifts and book.

Great app for finding locum shifts! (Its all you need)
This app is a fantastic starting point for anyone who would like to start locuming as a pharmacist. It has a very user-friendly interface which makes navigating through the app easy. Finding shifts is very easy, and many shifts around your location are uploaded continuously! You also have a diary which allows you to view shifts that you are booked in for, and the earnings you will make from each. Would highly recommend this app for any new pharmacist that would like to start booking locum shifts immediately!

Amazing
I’m a hospital pharmacist so don’t have time to liaise directly with companies. Locate a locum provides me the perfect platform on which I can find the best rates from all different companies in one place. They are always available if there are any payment issues and are the perfect middle man.
The new negotiate feature has also been brilliant for me to discuss prices. The rates are very good and you can filter by rate, location and companies.
Would recommend if you want an easy life and everything in one place

A great App
It is very easy to use this app and the diary is an excellent feature as it allows you to not only put in the shifts you have acquired through locate a locum, but for external booking as well. I would recommend this app to locum pharmacists.

Good and bad
Usually lots of shifts available to apply for. I like the Calender and the fact you can apply to many shifts without being double booked as that can be hard when working over emails. Would be good if this Calender could sync with google Calender or iPhone Calender. I’ve found the calculations of rate x hours to be completely wrong and there’s no way to add in unpaid breaks so salary counter is always wrong. Other than this I’ve only had one other problem with the app which was being booked for shifts I had never applied for which was very unfortunate as the cancellation policy for Locums warns you may not be booked again if you have cancellation on your profile as they share this with all companies.

Easy to follow, some problems
Overall the app is very easy to follow. Shifts are clearly laid when booked and advertised shifts are clearly explained. I like the filters that allow you to set your region and price point.
Customer service are great and get back to you quickly. The only thing that could be improved is that I find the shifts posted on my phone are different to those in my laptop. Not sure if it’s because I used google on my laptop and not the app? I have also found it quite difficult in the past to update my details and add certificates, however once I contacted the customer services they helped but it up for me. Overall good app

Brilliant app
Very easy to navigate. The shifts displayed are clearly laid out with rate and location which is perfect for me. Never had any issues with any break down, always up and running. Recommend as it allows you to look at shifts without logging in repeatedly.

Good user interface
Found the app very easy to navigate, with everything laid out well. Key information for shifts clear before clicking on the job which is good for deciding to take a shift or not.
Could definitely be more useful for finding locum shifts once more companies get on board!
