Beware, and avoid

Vrbo fails to do to confirm the legitimacy of its listings. Defrauded twice in 10days via this platform. I won’t recommend. I’m happy to only return if and when I have evidence of robust checks for their listings. It’s been hell, Verbo care not sufficient for the stress and the pain of ruined holidays.

This is not the place to review Vrbo accommodation!

I find it incredible that people leave reviews for their holiday stays here on the “app review” pages?!!?! What are you all thinking??
Go to the proper place “in app” to review your stay, not here!
Even the developers allow this to carry on with replies like “we hope you had a wonderful stay at our property”, which has absolutely nothing to do with the app!
As for the app, it works as intended but beware of bogus listings, also those that cancel your booking and conveniently keep the deposit.
And for continuing to allow these misplaced reviews here, my 3 star review has gone down to 2!

Total SCAM

It’s a total scam, and the support effectively inexistent.
They don’t verify the actual businesses listing here. There’s people taking real business name listing here, and taking your money. So when you arrive to the actual place, they don’t have your reservation. The app support asks for all the information they’re supposed to have about the reservation and then keeps you for hours on hold while “reaching the supervisor”
If a place is listed here, it’s also in Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, etc so my advice is go there instead of using Vrbo.

So I made a booking via Expedia who then force me to use the Vrbo app for one booking - I use Apple ID to log into both - Apple sets up two different private emails - Vrbo does not send the code so I can synchronous the emails
The app does not allow you to add a booking
The chat won’t let you do anything unless it sees you have a booking

Fabulous location

We had a wonderful Christmas serpent at Lakeside. Very picturesque with views over the water. Fully equipped for the whole family, would recommend they leave the property folder on the kitchen table as we didn’t find it initially and would have helped us with the Wi-Fi and hot water booster which was needed. No real complaints they even put a Christmas tree up for us. Would recommend and stay again should the opportunity arise.

Great Location

Amazing location being a short walk to the base of Grouse Mountain. Accommodating host who let us have a later check out. Not so accommodating when it came to sorting out a blocked toilet. Tammy asked us if we had found the plunger then appeared at the door with one, but not with an offer to sort it. She even sent us a video on how to use a plunger. Being capable human beings we had found the plunger and had given it a go. But I was a little surprised and amused by her responds. She did though get a plumber out to sort. Still, great accommodation in an amazing location.

The worst experience ever

A nonsense app, tried to book an apartment but the app said no even though an email said yes. Called and spoke to Vbro for 40 mins but nothing made sense. I asked for an email but didn’t get anything related to what was agreed back. Asked for a complaints department but apparently they don’t have one. Cancelled the booking and will never use again.

False promises being made of support

I have had to cancel a booking made via the app, and the host is refusing to refund my deposit of €200. Vrbo is also refusing to refund my deposits despite them having a promise which states they promise to ensure refunds of the host doesn’t assist. And yet here I am still, out of pocket and having to argue vrbo’s own policies with them in this matter. Shameful and underhand business practices and blatant lies of customer support!!

Map for property location is useless

Had high hopes for this app after finding a nice property, but the location map is pretty much useless as it is not clickable, neither is the text “view in map” clickable. Tried searching the name of the place I could see on the map shown in a separate app but got nowhere, so Vrbo app will now be uninstalled. Maybe not everyone is bothered where they go, but I would like to know.

Shocking aftercare when owner cancels stay

Absolutely no help from the VrboCare team, once the home owner cancelled stay. Original booking was for a 4 bed home with pool and was offered a 1 bed apartment as an alternative. When I asked for a manager to contact me about this shocking service, still awaiting contact, 14 days on. I have had a number of emails I responded to and it seems that my family and I have been abandoned by VRBO. Don’t go near them

Montpellier Swallow

Very convenient one bedroom apartment right in the heart of the old city. Friendly owner. Marvellous shopping for clothes, fresh food and other specialities. Restaurants and nightlife plentiful. Staying for 4 weeks we were a little restricted by the lack of oven, but otherwise the apartment though small is nicely appointed. A good experience overall.

BE CAREFUL, NO ACTIVE HOST AND KEEP YOUR MONEY.

I booked a room through Vrbo for our honeymoon, I booked it with months in advance and in the previous days leading up to the arrival, I tried to communicate with the host -both in app messages and calls, to which all of them were unsuccessful. After arriving to the location and not having any way of access the property, and back and forth with costumer service I was able to get a cancellation of our booking but that let us stranded in a place we don’t know, with no accommodation and as a last minute we had no choice but to get a very expensive booking in a new hotel. A costumer service agent emailed us saying they would provide an out of pocket reimbursement but at the end they backtracked and even closed our inquiry without providing any explanation or doing the bare minimum. The thing that is most disappointing is the fact the host advert has not been disabled or removed from the platform, nor I was able to leave a review to warn users to this potential scam. So be very careful when using this app, better stick to be better know one.

Absolutely The Best

Apartments Piteres We have just had 3 weeks staying in this exceptional apartment within skipping distance of Altea’s magnificent Old Town. The reviews we had read about the apartment were all excellent but they didn’t come close to explaining just how fabulous Victors holiday home really is. First of all its position , you couldn’t be closer to the old town if you tried. The alleys around the apartment are beautiful with stone walls, beautiful shrubbery and glorious walkways. The view from the balcony is exceptional overlooking the Altea harbour and stretching out to Albir and the hillside beyond. The home itself is brilliantly equipped with everything you might need for a stress free holiday including washing machine, dishwasher, every single thing even down to needle and threads. It was spotlessly clean, delightfully furnished and so so very comfortable. It is quintessentially Spanish and just perfect. Victor is an exceptional host and couldn’t do more to help. This place is by far the best we have ever stayed in and hopefully it will be our go to place from now on (so just ignore this review because we want to keep it to ourselves)

Just perfect

Stayed in mulberry cottage for my daughter’s 30th birthday and had a wonderful time. The cottage is well equipped, clean and super cosy, we had a bbq one evening and enjoyed the hot tub daily! The cottage is a short walk from the beautiful salt marsh where we went kayaking and saw many many birds. The garden is spacious and safely closed off for the dogs to run free. The nearby pub Red Lion is walkable and we had a lovely dinner there served by friendly staff, Stiffkey stores is also a close walk for essentials and a coffee/cake in the morning. Everything was just perfect and we cannot fault it, we didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back!

Cozy & Comfortable

Our recent stay was just just what we needed. A cozy comfortable stay, getting away from it all. Rena greeted us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. Despite the weather we got out and about and loved exploring. The handy train station near by made it easy for my son to visit for a few days. So much space

"AI" Oh No

Used VRBO for years and has always been great. Looking for next year's summer holiday and you can no longer filter. Well I say no longer filter, for the life of me I can only find the AI filter. Problem is that everything you put in it just tells you "No matches, please try again". I am not asking anything complicated here, two examples of my criteria have been "3 bedrooms" and this complicated request "Pool". Apparently not one villa in Sardinia has a pool.

Fabulous

We stayed here for 6 weeks over the summer. The villa is spacious and the kitchen was one of the best equipped that we have experienced in our many villa rentals in Florida. The pool area is fabulous lots of room around the pool to lounge and enjoy the sun. It’s located just off the highway 27 with plenty of food and shopping places nearby. We would highly recommend this villa and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property & perfect location

Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at No33 woodlands cottage.
Location of the cottage is perfect for visiting what we feel are the most beautiful beaches of North Norfolk particularly love Holme next the sea & some lovely pubs and eating places all in close driving distance of the cottage.
The cottage itself is lovely, decor is bright and modern, everything supplied that you could need for cooking and was my first time cooking on a AGA they’re great! Cleanliness is a big thing for me and this cottage is the best I’ve stayed in everything was perfect. Lovely crisp white sheets, fluffy towels and even a couple of bathrobes which was a nice touch, Very nice generous welcome hamper which was much appreciated the sourdough was lovely, the luxury biscuits naughty! And a nice touch having a good coffee machine with pods supplied too.
Would also just like to say a big thank you to the owners of the cottage for letting us extend our time at the cottage by a day, unfortunately for us having to check in a day later than planned, due to an unexpected emergency vet trip on the day we was meant to check in, all turned out well in the end doggie was all ok and thankfully we didn’t loose to much time for our holiday due to us being able to stay the extra time so was very appreciated.
We will definitely return to No33 next time we visit this lovely part of Norfolk.

Beware vrbo scam bookings

We recently returned from what should’ve been a relaxing two-week family holiday in Corfu, booked through Vrbo. Within hours of arrival, we learned that one of our villas had been removed from the platform due to a scam — and things went downhill from there.
Despite booking through a legitimate-looking listing with a Vrbo-branded invoice and host communication via their own app, we were told we had no protection because we paid by bank transfer (a risk that was never clearly flagged on their site). The second villa didn’t exist. The host disappeared. We were stuck in a foreign country with four kids and nowhere to stay.
Vrbo’s support was dismissive and unhelpful — agents passed us around, and a senior manager literally laughed at the fake invoice before saying, “That was so obviously a scam.” He admitted Vrbo doesn’t verify listings beyond phone numbers and photos, and told us not to expect a resolution because they had “800 cases to get through.”
After reading dozens of similar complaints online, it’s clear this isn’t a one-off — Vrbo facilitates scams and then shifts all blame to customers. We’ve reported the case to Action Fraud, are exploring legal options, and wanted to warn others before they lose thousands like we did.
Vrbo talks like a trusted platform, but when things go wrong, you’re completely on your own. Be warned

Aqua Blu Villa Coral Bay

I can’t quite express how much I loved this place! For us as a family it was perfect. The location was amazing, stunning bay views, night and day, quiet, just the lapping of waves to be heard! Amazing sunsets at the end of the garden every night. The pool was gorgeous, I can’t believe it wasn’t heated! Hot tub fab! My boys loved the pool table, darts and table tennis! And Dave our villa rep was fab, when I couldn’t find the hairdryer he turned up straight away to help and showed us how to use the tv! When we had a small problem with the air con downstairs again he was right on it and got it sorted. Kitchen equipment in the villa was ample. I just loved this place and hope to return one day!!

Exceptional

Amazing villa catered for all ages in our family 90yr to 1 year. Neil the host outstanding nothing too much bother. Vrbo communication not very good but once they give you neil tel number just deal with him. Great different areas in grounds could not ask for anything better. Towels and pool towels provided / plenty of free inflatables to use - charcoal bbq in just the right place on terrace - a second ceiling fan in relaxing area on main terrace would be good as would a couple of handrails in certain places but nothing dangerous - kitchen well equipped didn’t need to take anything. Up stairs games room/ bar with fridges and views across countryside perfect. Massive thank you to Neil out stay was perfect

Family vacation

Overall the property was ideal for our needs and is situated not too far from the entrance gate and also ideally situated across the road from the complex pool and gym that was available for us to use when wanted. However there was a couple of things that were already damaged and needed fixing in the property, also I would have expected it to be more throughly cleaned, as there was rubbish behind some of the furniture. We found 3 cockroaches in the house during our 2 week stay, although pest control did come round during the 2nd week to spray the area. I was happy overall and would stay again.

Perfect Accommodation

This is a lovely apartment in a perfect location right on Glenelg beach and would definitely recommend staying here.

Sammy’s seafood restaurant on the marina was fantastic but if you want to visit the Greek restaurant at the beginning of the marina I would suggest you read the reviews first - we had to wait nearly ninety minutes for our food !! All other restaurants were fully booked so we were stuck !
The Tram is only 250 yards away and takes circa 25 minutes to get to central Adelaide
One downside (and nothing to do with the apartment) was that we checked out at 10:00 am and had been told at reception that we could leave our luggage with them as our check in at our next apartment in central Adelaide wasn’t until 4:00 pm. However when we got to reception we were told that we couldn’t as Belle Escape were private owners not part of Oakes. They point blank refused to negotiate and so we had to keep our luggage ( four of us from the UK) with us - which as you can imagine was a bit of a challenge !

We would recommend this unit to any couple. A vehicle isn’t necessary as the bus stop is a 6 minute walk and shopping centre about 15 minutes. A 10 minute ride on bus takes you to the train station .If you have a car there is off road parking too.

Christmas in Barcelona

Lovely home from home in the heart of a lovely district, lovely and warm very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and good facilities to cook in. Looked lovely on the outside at the back but not able to use due to the weather. Thanks very helpful and punctual was our host on arrival and gave us useful information. Just a couple of suggestions to make it even better, some wine glasses and also as this is an all year round destination used by many different nationalities an improvement on the tv would enhance the stay in the winter months. At least a basic smart tv so people can access their Netflix etc. but overall a lovely and enjoyable stay.

Fantastic view, Fantastic location, Fantastic host!!

This is our second stay at this wonderful apartment and whilst we were there we booked our third stay for next year.
Great location next to the beach and restaurants and a view that always brings a smile to your face.
Everything you need for an effortless vacation. The parking is in a secure gated area underneath the apartments and the allocated bay is very near the lifts.
The host Katherine responds quickly to any messages and is very helpful.
We had a great 3 night stay and can’t wait to go back again next year!

Fantastic property

We had a fantastic holiday here. The property is one of the best we have stayed in. Situated in a beautiful complex with 2 really good sized pools, always plenty of sun beds. The property is of a very high standard and the balcony is huge and great for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. 5 minutes walk to the marina which is beautiful with several bars and restaurants. 20 min walk to the old town which is a lovely walk and definitely worth it! The old town has so much to offer, 7 days was not enough for us to explore everything so we will definitely return! Could not recommend this property highly enough- thank you Debs!

Amazing apartment - fantastic host

Communication from Massi was great from the start of the booking. We had such a wonderful stay at this apartment. It’s in a beautiful secluded location up in the mountain. The views are breath-taking - literally! The apartment was clean, fresh, well presented and comfortable. It was a lovely base for our stay.
The location is beautiful. The road to the apartment is narrow and not for the faint of heart - we’d advise a smaller vehicle (we ended up with an awful hire car / which is not the fault of the mountain - but it made the route hairy). There is a fantastic taxi driver (frederico) who we enjoyed driving us in his nice mercedes van and his confidence with driving on the mountain roads made us feel safe.
Massi and Frederico made our holiday enjoyable, they gave us recommendations of places to visit and places to eat.
Such a great location. Easy access to transport from the town. There was a bus that ran up and down the mountain but as we had the car we didn’t use it.
There is a walk down to town from the apartment which we recommend hiking boots or at least trainers and comfortable clothing. I walked down in sandals and a dress and deem this highly inappropriate.
We didn’t spend long enough here (4days). There is so much exploring to do from this location - makes for a great base.
Completely recommend this - no noise pollution and no light pollution. Absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful house, nestled into the glorious back drop of Majacar.

Thank you so much we had a wonderful stay in Mojácar, I don’t think we could have had a better time if we tried!
The house was very impressive because of its location and vibrant bohemian style furnishings, nestled into the glorious back drop of Majacar. This really is an idyllic place to stay.
The house has a lovely balcony area, we enjoyed the sea view. The patio door leads into an open plan lounge and kitchen area. The kitchen is very well equipped, and it’s features include a breakfast bar and a decent sized fridge freezer. The lounge is spacious and has a comfortable sofa, textured soft furnishing, a smart TV and we benefited from the bespoke Wifi.
The beds were made up on arrival and towels were provided.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, a large comfortable day bed. The air conditioning was excellent in this room and kept us nice and cool. The second bedroom is a sweet twin room with two single beds and a large fan.
The bathroom had a great shower, the water pressure was excellent!
Thank you for your hospitality and your helpful welcome pack with directions from the airport and your recommendations of restaurants and places to visit.
I only wish we could have stayed for longer!

Latimer House for a special birthday.

Just returned from a fabulous weekend in Ramsgate. Ten of us rented Latimer House and it was very well suited to our needs. We were lucky with the weather and the courtyard garden was a real sun trap! Deanna, the owner, provided comprehensive information and guidance regarding the property and location. She was attentive and most generous with regard to checking in and checking out and even left a card and wine to help with the celebrations. The house has lots of room and lots of stairs- save the top room for your fittest group members! Also the bunk beds are only really suitable for children, but thankfully we had a petite and agile lady with us who could manage the ladder! Latimer House is really ideally positioned and we found the area to be a pleasant and interesting surprise. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend.

Escape to the countryside

Stayed here with my daughter and our dog for 3 nights.
What a beautiful cottage in a stunning setting.
The cottage has everything you need for a peaceful getaway.
It has one bedroom but there is another bed in the living room.
Fully fitted kitchen, with oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher.
There is a washing machine and dryer, although the washing machine wasn’t working. Probably something simple that I had missed.
There is a log burner fire with plenty of logs.
They have an enclosed field which my dog loved. He was able to run around without a lead on.
The owner Carolyn had left a little shop for us. Milk ,butter, bread, croissants and your basics like tea, coffee, jam which I thought was a lovely touch.
The only issue we had whilst there was our morning of departure we had no hot water. I followed the instructions that were left to put it on but still didn’t work. I’m sure if I had made Carolyn aware she would of sorted it asap, but as it was bank holiday I didn’t want to disturb her so early.
Also beware the shelves behind the couch I stupidly banged my head 3 times in the space of an hour lol you think I would have learnt the first time.
All in all an amazing cottage in beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend.

Can’t cancel reservation

The host has informed me of something which may be an issue at the property and kindly offered me a full refund which I have accepted but I need to cancel before he can authorise. I have tried numerous times over the past couple of hours to cancel my reservation but whilst I can access the first part of the action to manage my booking which takes me to the modify or cancel options I am then unable to cancel or modify my booking. Both buttons are faded out and I get a little “no entry” sign. I am unable to do so via an iPhone, iPad, PC (different browsers) and the app. I also keep getting error messages saying there is a problem at your end and Expedia’s. I have taken screen shots of all the issues I am experiencing and have asked the host for advice. This is my first and last time using this service.

Great week at Villa Troy!

The house was very well equipped especially the kitchen. The shower room downstairs is a bit small for the average person, but excellent plumbing.
Good air con in downstairs bedrooms, upstairs not so good. Also the upstairs “bathroom” is just a toilet and wash basin. The description does later state two bathrooms, being the two downstairs, but perhaps the use of the word “bathroom” for upstairs is a bit misleading.
Where this property really excels is the outside space. Beautiful pool, exceptionally clean, and extensive garden with facilities for football, trampolining and table tennis. There are two main terraces with pergolas providing shade.
All in all a very good family holiday villa and I must compliment Owl Booking (agents) for their excellent communications. They are a friendly and helpful company.

Great stay!

Attentive host, Nicola, who was very helpful. Communication was great before and during the stay.
The property is charming and rustic, well-presented and clean, and is well appointed.
There are a few steep steps up to the front door, but fabulous views from the gardens of Lake Garlate.
Stairs in the house are narrow and quite steep so caution for very young children.
Pool area and play area were all very clean, spacious and well maintained, and only a 2 minute walk from the house. Never too busy (we were there during the last week of July 2024). The complex is gated and secure.
Parking is also a 2 minute walk from the house but up a hill (the area is generally quite hilly).
The master bedroom has a lovely terrace. The second bedroom just fits two single beds (although virtually joined together) so suitable for a couple or younger children.
Kitchen has fridge, freezer, dishwasher and 2 electric hobs, microwave oven and kettle.
Lots of nice places to visit - Lecco, Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna, Bellano (the caves), Jungle Raider Park in Civenna, the beach at Onno (great for swimming in the lake).
Supermarkets are only a 10 minute drive away.
We had a great stay at La Terrazze and would recommend it. Thank you, Nicola.

Not a smooth experience at all

ATTENTION: if you use your Google account directly to book a place, you cannot pay because the account will miss some mandatory information for booking. The app didn’t identify and ask the travellers to fill these information. Instead, you can go through the whole booking process and the host can edit your payment amount, and then! You can’t process to payment, and the app/web will give you an error. The customer service is very nice but they can’t solve the issue. They can’t make the current reservation payment work. Moreover, They can’t cancel the reservation so you can try to rebook with the full information updated on the profile. Annoyed by all the troubles I have been through because of some debug handler wasn’t implanted properly on the system.

Artemis villa

Just had a 2week stay at this lovely villa. Everything you need at hand. Walking distance to beaches / restaurants … lovely swims along the way if you go on the front.
Pool was fab .. really peaceful and relaxing. We had a car so went to some amazing beaches.. fig tree very busy. Turn right at the bottom of the road.. 5min walk and a beautiful beach. Best meal all holiday was Poseidon. Katie and John great hosts, any problems they would have been there although we didn’t have any probs, great hosts. Booked for next year from our Sun loungers around the pool !

What a lovely apartment.

Stayed at this apartment for 5 days. When we arrived we were met immediately by the key holder who was lovely and she showed us round pointing out all the facilities. The apartment was spotless and had been cleaned to a high standard. It was situated a short walk to all the bars and restaurants in La Fuente centre plus others in the local area which was ideal. Several golf courses are within a mile including Las Ramblas, Villamartin and Campoamor. The communal pool was lovely and just a very short walk from the apartment. The owners Dawn and Tony were fantastic and were in regular contact by WhatsApp and email before, during and after our stay so we had nothing to worry about throughout our stay and nothing was to much trouble. I would definitely recommend this apartment and would give it 10 out of 10 in all areas.

Fabulous Location … Wonderful Stay !

A fabulous property in a beautiful quiet location yet still close to the small town of Cártama where more or less everything is available.
The villa has lots of charm, a fantastic terrace with a pool and BBQ areas with lots of space to enjoy the sun (or shade if you prefer)
The views are amazing.
Inside are three bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, large lounge and two WC’s.
There’s also a covered patio area with tables, chairs and even a double size daybed !!
The owner was incredible and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything right.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and due to supermarkets being closed, we were asked if we needed any shopping bought in advance which was very thoughtful.
We had a minor “glitch” with the boiler meaning there was no hot water but once reported, there was a plumber at the house within 20 minutes even on a Sunday evening to fix it.
Overall a five star stay … it was wonderful.

Bad road to property

Had great difficulty finding property due to road diversion. Had to ask locals to find a way to the place. This was via very potholed clunch road
Some holes filled with sand and stone whilst we were there, only to be washed away before we returned home. Bungalow was clean and had most essentials. Bed sheets were not provided even though website stated they were. Housekeeper was good enough to loan some to us. As a disabled person, the lack of handholds in shower and toilet meant I could not have a shower for the 2 weeks. Nice to have TV in bedrooms and aircon throughout cottage. Found the area lacking in suitable things for wheelchair bound person to do

Accommodation

The place was well located, close to the beachfront. The bed in the downstairs room could do with being replaced as some of the slats are missing, but over all clean and tidy, could do with a little redecoration. Our biggest concern was the lack of key for the pool area, as we booked on the strength it had a shared pool and 3/4 of the photos advertising the apartment are shown when you searching for somewhere to stay, we did manage to get in but only from asking others that we’re using the pool to let us in, which we shouldn’t have had to do.

Wonderful Villa Flora

We recently had the most wonderful stay at Villa Flora which is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest. The inside space is spacious and immaculately presented and the very private pool area is beautiful with sun loungers and umbrellas/shade available on three sides and a breathtaking view.
John and Claire have thought of every possible way to make their guests happy. We arrived late at night and so it was fantastic to find our fridge and food cupboard so well stocked (fresh fruit, yoghurt, fresh bread, butter, milk, juice, honey, cheese, biscuits, crisps etc) as well as a plentiful supply of loo rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc-all little details but which meant we didn’t have to worry about visiting the supermarket for the first couple of days. We also had a large selection of beach towels at our disposal. John took time to talk us through how to navigate to various places and made some helpful recommendations of restaurants that we might wish to visit.
The villa has a steep, somewhat intimidating drive and whilst it clearly is quite manageable for the confident driver (as clearly demonstrated by John), we chose to leave our car on the road instead.
Overall, we cannot recommend Villa Flora more highly and have recommending it to all and sundry.

Villa Tanicius, Croatia

What an amazing villa inside and outside. The views were spectacular. We were a group of six adults and a 2 year old. The pool area was lovely with lots of outdoor eating and bbqs. Even better was the play area for our grandson. He had everything he could possibly need.
The owner has made sure that the villa is very well equipped with anything that you might need whilst you are away. He also provided a lovely welcome food package on arrival. He was very welcoming and was available if you had any questions throughout your stay.
You will need a car if you want to explore Croatia. Split is about 20-30 minutes. Croatia is such a scenic and beautiful country I would definitely recommend.
Overall we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely recommend staying at Villa Tanicius.

Sundance Villa, Pollensa

What a fab holiday we had at Sundance, it was perfect in ever way. Our family joined us & we created fantastic memories to last for ever. Dawn was so helpful, she recommended local restaurants to eat, we booked each evening & were not disappointed with one. Sundance was very well equipped & extremely comfortable. The Folly New Way Church St Whitby

Just had a wonderful 3 night stay in the most charming fisherman’s cottage with amazing views of the estuary. The cottage is fabulous with quaint & quirky decor just right for the setting , every day I discovered something new. Whitby has lots to offer and after a days exploring it was fantastic to return to this wonderful cottage to relax with a chilled wine whilst watching the boats sail past. We are both feeling very relaxed and chilled after our trip. I would definitely recommend a stay here 10 out of 10 💖 ps thank you for the welcome Prosecco xxx🙌🙌

Lovely quiet place in the Outer Banks

We are really grateful to Jeanne and Bill for providing us with a super place to stay during our vacation. It was our 40th anniversary and sadly my wife broke her arm but Jeanne could not have been more helpful to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We hope that we didn’t leave the place too untidy as it’s my wife who usually takes care of that!
Still saw lots of nice things. The Wright Bros monument was a real jewel for me and - being birdwatchers - there were lots of preserves and woods to satisfy our curiosity

Why can’t I open Vrbo on my Mac

Using the app so that I can send myself properties to look at on a bigger screen on my Mac. For some reason the web page won’t open on my Mac book.
The app is okay however it won’t let you pinpoint your nightly budget any closer than £200 - so our budget is £300 per night but we can only see properties that Are £200 or £400 per night - annoying.
There is no filter for ‘ amazing views ‘ as there is on air b and b which is one of the first thing I search for.
A lot of the properties say ‘ all guest must be present on arrival and give their documentation ‘ I have never been asked for this having used air b and b for 8 years. It’s simply not possible for all of my party to arrive at the same time especially as we are a group of freinds arriving from different parts of the world on different flights ect - usually we just send over our passport via WhatsApp. So the fact that this is stated as one of the ‘ rules ‘ in many of the properties puts me off booking .
Annoying that the filters re set every time you refresh your search , so that you think you have found something amazing , but then you find it’s Too expensive . Not all reviews are translated on the app so having to copy and paste is fiddly.

What a treat!

So, a last minute booking for 5 of us based on where the sun would shine and didn’t we strike lucky!! Over the road from shop with fresh bread and pastries. Nice restaurant over the road but main town 5 mins down the road. Really good size villa, comfy beds and spotless. Everything there u could poss need, beach towels, umbrella , ice packs, even candles and matches!
Pool beautiful and grabs all the last minute sun and overlooks a valley. And the best thing, value for money but don’t want to shout about that too much or will never get booked in again!! Just what we all needed- many thanks.

Shocking

Shocking service do not use. Booked and host messaged to say they had already sold the properly. The company had already charged me and then I had to call an international number to get a refund taking 15 mins and I am still none the wiser as to whether they have refunded me or not. Do not use this service if you value your sanity or cash. Shop elsewhere! So now you get in contact via apple and ask me to make contact with you via a link that takes me to a menu with several hundred option and you expect me to find you in there to help you with a problem that you created. That the problem in a nutshell. You do not make it easy to do business with you. You have a very convoluted way of doing business and your way of dealing with customers is not thought out from the customers perspective. If you want to speak to me find a way. I’m not coming to find you. Thanks.

Comfortable house with pool

This home was conveniently situated in an area which allowed us to visit the wildlife preserves and state parks we wanted to experience. The house was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we required. Neighbourhood was relatively quiet and security at the house felt adequate. We enjoyed the pool although it wasn’t warm but nice to cool down in the late afternoon after a busy day. As overseas visitors we found food shops in the area limited. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend to others and would definitely stay again if we returned to the area.

The Cotswold Retreat

I would like to leave a review for the above accommodation, our stay at this retreat was comfortable and warm , the host was very friendly and happy to give us a few tips on places to visit during our stay which we found very helpful, Marks place had a few added extras which we appreciated such as tea sugar coffee sauces salt pepper and vinigar , we felt as if we were in our own home and loved every moment , we would feel happy to recommend this place to our friends and relatives without hesitation and hope one day to return for another few days away from the hassle and bustle of every day life .

Map no longer functions properly.

What have they done in the latest update? There was nothing wrong with the old app. It was easy to set up filters and search on the map closing down an area. This no longer works. You search an area and you get properties miles away. You can zoom into an area it just goes back. Many of the properties I know are listed are not showing up , that’s without putting filters in. Very frustrating it may well send to another well know app.
Raised issue and received response will wait outcome. At present using web rather than app.

Not impressed with App

I have finally been able to book what I wanted. However:
1. When searching different areas to holiday in the App seems to stick on the first area looked at returning to it despite entering entirely different places. For example, initial search “the Cotswolds” new search “The Yorkshire Dales”, hit enter and back you go to property in the Cotswolds! Only leaving the app and waiting a hour can the search be revised!
2. It took me three different and completely funded cards before payment was completed. Was it because I altered the payment details from my wife’s name to mine during the process? Only when we used her card was payment processed? Clunky or what?

No way to pay through app

I use and like VRBO a lot but the app is deeply flawed because when I try to book a place, at the payment stage the credit card can’t be authenticated. They have known about this problem for a long time but failed to fix it. A customer service representative told me early last year that they know it’s a problem and the only way around it is to book on the main webpage. That works fine but not being able to complete a booking through the app at the payment stage renders it pretty useless. I really don’t understand why they can’t solve this longstanding problem which must be costing them a great deal of lost business. Until I was told to use the webpage I gave up on several bookings and went to AirBnb instead. Others who don’t realise you need to use the webpage must be doing likewise.

Property not visible

I have used VRBO since they were Home Away and although I had a number of problems with HomeAway I have had many more of a greater magnitude with VRBO.
I had an annual subscription which meant a lower price for guests and lower fee per booking for me. This option was removed during covid and only the more expensive pay per booking option remained. Despite being informed that the annual subscription option would be available as covid settled down, I have now been told that this option is not available.
More importantly, I have had the issue of zero visibility for my property on the app despite my property being available. This is a huge issue as @ 70% of bookings are found on the app!!
I have spoken to VRBO without success and am still not visible.
I would recommend another platform if you have a property which you wish to rent without issue.

Keep clear if your money is important to you

As others have mentioned here. The customer service is beyond horrible. And it amounts to £££ lost. We were wrongfully charged with £400 for trumped up ‘damages’ The people at VRBO didn’t even check the claim and were very quick to deduct it from our account, but then after several calls we finally got a representative to look at the hosts claim And he admitted that they were completely false. You would think at this point we would get our money back with an apology from VRBO. You would be wrong. We have contacted them on the phone, on the app chat, on their Twitter page, and all we ever get is ‘someone will get back to you shortly’. This has been going on for a month. NO ONE got back to us. It is always us who have to call them. We will not give up, but will never use this dreadful company again and will recommend to anyone we know to do the same. Keep clear!

Vrbo do not honour the 100% cancellation policy at all!

Awful experience so far. Booked a family villa in Florida for August 2022, while showing a family member the villa on the Vrbo website it had been taken down. I questioned this and was assured there was no issue. As time went on I started to panic and didn’t want to turn up to Orlando with the family and not have anywhere to stay.
Basically we found the villa we hired on sale on the American version of rightmove. Explained this to Vrbo, the owner would not reply and after several phone calls, emails and chats Vrbo did put the cancellation through.
It has now been nearly 3 months and the cancellation is still pending, our cancellation policy was 100% no quibble refund and as yet Vrbo have not refunded a single penny. On top of that I have spent nearly £30 calling America and many hours trying to get this sorted.
I am now considering taking legal action as I am still awaiting my considerable deposit of nearly £900 to be refunded.
Needless to say their cancellation policy and customer service is useless and j would advise staying well clear, even if you have a cancellation policy.

Amazing customer service, app UI could do with being more user friendly

Booked a trip to Copenhagen for me and my partner. After the host cancelled on our arrival to the country we were left stranded with nowhere to go. Vrbo support were amazing and had not only refunded our entire booking but also found us a nearby hotel to stay for the night free of charge within an hour of contacting them.
Have had some issues navigating the app and it crashing occasionally, but would absolutely use the service again because of the amazing support we received and the speed at which Vrbo were on the case.

Do not use this app. Your booking is not safe and liable to be cancelled at the last moment with no warning. I would never use this app again. On 13th February this year I booked a 5 bedroom house in Shinfield Reading for 10 friends to use to sleep in this weekend (May 14th). These friends are musicians from my husbands old band. They were reforming to play at our party locally this Saturday night. 2 nights before they due to arrive the host cancelled my reservation as he said we were holding an unauthorised party. I had confirmed twice in February that our guests would be using the house to sleep in and maybe eat breakfast before leaving at 11am the next day. At no point did I suggest we were holding a party. Our guests would not be at the property until they wanted to go to bed. This host has broken the terms of our agreement and left me 2 days to rehouse our friends. Livid.

I have tried over 20 times to make this payment over the past week and every time it has said “this payment could not be authenticated “ even though I had plenty of money on my account to cover it. I spent 25 minutes on the telephone with one of your helpful assistants but she could not get it to work either. She gave me a case number and referred me to someone else who was supposed to sort it out but they have not contacted me in 3 days. Today I used the Chat service but was told they couldn’t help me either. I don’t know why it worked this time but I shall never book a holiday with Vrbo again. I book several holiday cottages every year and have never had this problem with other holiday companies. I really am extremely annoyed about it all. I was afraid I would lose my holiday cottage and possibly my deposit too. I will not be recommending you to any of my friends.

Into the Blue in Rye, Victoria

Recently emigrated to Australia from the UK and looking to explore the country around Melbourne our new home.
We used the STAYZ website for the first time for a 3 day break to Rye on the Mornington Peninsula staying in what turned out to be a beautiful traditional beach house a short distance outside Rye. We have seldom come across such a well equipped and cosy rental property. The “into the blue” house was spotlessly clean and was very much a home from home for our family group of four adults and a kelpie called Ralph. The garden was private and secure - Ralph loved it and the expansive deck was brilliantly equipped for outside cooking and dining. The kitchen had everything you could wish for from plates,pots and pans right through to cooking spices and seasonings.
Beds were comfy and clean and we loved the peace and quiet.
All in all, we have no hesitation in giving this property a full 5 star rating and we look forward to hopefully coming back for a visit in the near future.

Appalling Customer Service

I would not recommend this company to anyone!! I recently booked a night away in London for myself and 5 other women what I hoped would be a luxury apartment in Canary Wharf. Prior to going I was unable to get hold of the host to find out how to gain access to the property. I called VRBO and was told to call again on the day I was actually going; still couldn’t get hold of host on the Saturday so called VRBO again! I was told they would try to get hold of the host if they couldn’t they would find alternative accommodation for me, whilst I was in watching the show, and email me the outcome. This did not happen!! I had to call them again, I was on the phone for 1 hour and 20 minutes, eventually they said for me to find alternative accommodation via VRBO or Expedia and they would reimburse me. It is now 2 weeks since my weekend away and I am still waiting for a refund, £1200 hotel and £326 in telephone calls. I have to keep phoning them and it is so expensive as I am having to call America. I will never use VRBO again and would not recommend them to anyone!!!

Abuse seems to be tolerated

Just bumped across a listing that said it’s fully available over Christmas. So I booked it. The owner provided instructions to communicate outside the app’s messaging platform, only to then tell me over the phone the property was not, in fact, available as shown in the app. He then told me to cancel my booking, which the app warned me would cost me 50% of the rental fee (as the booking date is less than a month away). I had to call the owner and get him to cancel the booking. I don’t understand why this is so hostile to users, but after this stressful experience of having done nothing wrong and finding myself with no booking and feeling lucky I didn’t lose money too, I won’t be using it again. Nightmare!

Confusing

Booked what looks like a lovely property (we haven’t gone yet!) and added insurance cover, just in case!
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find out if the insurance has been added! I don’t seem to have paid for it so far and have had no confirmation that it has indeed been added to the booking.
Contacted vrbo 3 times through chat and the adviser ended the chat twice whilst I was still typing (different advisers too!!) On 2 occasions I was told to contact their insurer, which is irritating as it was added as part of the vrbo booking! And to add insult to injury the phone number they gave - gave a message saying I couldn’t be put through!!
So who knows if the insurance has been added or I will be charged nearer the time of our trip! Hugely disappointing and I would be reluctant to use these guys again, even though they have some lovely properties!
