Aqara Home is an app for smart home automation and control. With Aqara Home, you can:
1. control Aqara accessories anywhere and anytime where there is Internet access;

Avoid if You’re Using HomeKit – Unreliable and Frustrating
These cameras work reasonably well when used only with the manufacturer’s native app. However, once they’re connected to Apple HomeKit, reliability drops off a cliff. They may stay connected for a few days—occasionally up to a week or more—but sooner or later they disconnect from HomeKit for no apparent reason. When that happens, there is no way to recover the connection remotely. The only solution is to be physically at home and power cycle the cameras. They do not reconnect automatically, and there is no remote reset option.
The problems get worse if you rely on automations, such as disabling recording when you’re home and re-enabling it when you leave. If a camera disconnects from HomeKit before you go out, the automation simply fails. Even if the native app shows the camera as working normally, HomeKit remains broken. In one case, even power cycling didn’t resolve the issue. The only fix was to completely remove the camera from HomeKit and add it again—an extremely frustrating process that also wipes all recorded history.
On top of this, person detection is fundamentally broken. Every single day, without exception, my cat is detected as a “person.” This is not an occasional false positive or an unusual edge case—it happens daily and renders person detection effectively useless. If the system can’t reliably tell the difference between an animal and a human in normal conditions, then the feature simply does not work as advertised.
Customer support has been equally disappointing. Despite clearly explaining that the issue is intermittent HomeKit disconnections with no remote recovery—and ongoing, repeatable detection failures—they repeatedly suggest the same generic troubleshooting steps. It gives the impression that support tickets aren’t being properly read or understood.

I've contacted with Aqara and they are aware about this problem but judging on Reddit posts they (Aqara) will not solve this problem - they say - buy their ANOTHER product (security camera) to solve problem

I have an Aqara doorbell. In the past, I was able to download videos directly from the SD card, but now this feature requires a paid subscription. Because of this, I’m considering removing all my cameras and switching to Reolink instead.

I had looked at reviews, product choices and price, their reviews came highly rated so I took the plunge and bought a hub and some leak detectors. These purchases led onto more as the quality and reliability of their products amazed me.
I now own and use an array of different Aqara products and can rate them as I have. As the range expands, I’m finding the need to purchase more.

Hubs offline after app update
Today i updated the Aqara app and both hubs have started flashing blue led and showing offline. All device firmware is always up to date, hub shows connected to router with data transferring but both different iPhones show all devices offline in the app. Guys need to revert this app back to previous version asap!

Hi, I love the product but since I downloaded the latest version, my connection to my phone of the video doorbell itself has stopped working. The phone is connected to the speaker but when the doorbell is pressed it won’t go off. And I can’t see a video feed on my phone. So the doorbell has stopped working. Please fix

What have you done with the timeline view!?
The timeline on the old app was excellent. I could go full screen on my iPad to check my G4 doorbell recordings. I could go back and pinpoint a time during the night to find out what was going on in front of my house. Now I can’t adjust it at all in full screen. It took me ages to find even a timeline. This is now vertical and way too small. It doesn’t expand to make fine adjustments. I can’t make it work full screen. Stop messing around with a perfectly good app and put it back the way it was please.

Cannot add Matter devices with non-Aqara hub
I recently got a few P2 devices and can add these Matter devices into the Home app fine but when trying to add them into the Aqara app, it complains that I do not have a supported Aqara hub. For the most part the Apple Home app is fine but when you want to calibrate devices or update the firmware, it won’t let you. Hopefully, this will be fixed in a future update

Almost perfect
This app has lots of control options and, once you understand how automations and scenes may be used together, provides great flexibility. One useful feature which is lacking is the ability to pass parameters (variables) to scenes and or automations. This would simplify lots of things which are currently cumbersome.
Whilst the Aqara hardware system has a range of options a serious lack is a UK programmable mains socket. A strange omission particularly as they do a European version so the development work has clearly been done.

iOS 18.4 seems to have broken things
I like Aqara hardware, but find the app a little over complicated, however, switches, light strips etc that I have that were working fine in Apples Home app have now all stopped working since iOS 18.4 was rolled out (Aqara seems to be the only devices I’m having issues with) so I think there’s something that Aqara need to fix here.

Not all options exposed to API
Wouldn’t it be nice to have the loitering detection exposed via matter or even to the app itself so you can write automations based on it. The app is not well written. Support is hopeless with no email to contact. Looks like good products but actually there are cracks in poor and inconsistent coding. Also with every update more and more is being removed to coerce into taking out the cloud subscription.

Frequently logs me out, useless for doorbell
Every time I try to check the doorbell video stream or speak to a visitor, I open the app to find it has signed me out without asking, and I can’t do anything without manually logging back in (it also never saves my login details).
Unfortunately this renders it totally useless as a smart doorbell app. Please fix this bug, and I’ll be able to give a higher rating.

Functional but sparse
Doesn’t support widgets or shortcuts in iOS, so kind of limits what one can do with devices through the app and how smart it can be. Shame, as with many smart home things, the app lets down the pretty solid hardware.

MATTER SHOULD Not need a proprietary hub
And they have recently updated the app which results in you having to wait for an Internet connection to then be able to load the Bluetooth connection to the Lok which doesn’t have an Internet proprietary hub. It’s almost as if they saw me coming.

Requires Major Work to make it robust
This software is absolutely useless for configuring Aqara FP2 Sensors.
It requires numerous attempts to even make the connection to the WiFi network.
Once a device is connected, it’s hit and miss whether it will retain any changes made to its Name or those of the Light Sensor or the Occupancy Sensor!
Even if it retains those changes, it frequently (almost always) fails to bind.
Then it fails to update the firmware!
Additionally, it delivers meaningless error messages such as “The network is abnormal, please try again(Network—1001). What is this meant to mean?
So far, I have one of a three-pack configured correctly and updated to the latest firmware; one that is configured correctly but WILL NOT update to the latest firmware; and the third WILL NOT bind with the configured changes. Absolute nightmare!
The app is inconsistent, unreliable and prevents the adoption of the product!

Water sensor
I have the water sensor and the hub. The sensor is up in the far end of the loft. I connect it and it works. Then after a time I have to log in again , it sees the sensor but now all the data history data has gone. So I have to climb in the loft to reset the device. A week or so later I have to log in again , the device is disconnected and all the data has gone. See the pattern? What is the point of a water sensor which disconnects on its own. Does not reconnect and fails to warn if the roof is leaking. Like a tree in the forest it works while you look then when you turn away the tree falls silently. What a pile of poo! So now I will have to get another device with another hub and another protocol another app to make just the 37 I have to turn a light on. And we are scared of AI?

The 5.0.1 release seems to have affected the connection between the doorbell and the chime repeater. Since the update, the doorbell no longer functions - the video feed and door chime are no longer present.

Doorbell notifications should ring the phone
Hi guys, it really saddens me to have to give you a two star review but after over four months of waiting and 4 app updates now you still haven’t added the ability for the app to ring when someone presses the doorbell. It’s ridiculous that if you’re away from the Home with a video doorbell, you can’t have your doorbell ring through to your phone. All you get is a quiet little ping of a notification telling you there’s someone at the door which is so easy to miss. The whole point of having a video doorbell so that you can be there even when you’re not. as soon as you had that functionality I will increase the star rating. It really is such a shame cause the doorbell is brilliant. Just missing one crucial feature.

Have two FP2 sensors, keep getting time out errors then device already in home… etc etc, restarts, resets, different devices and still the same issues…

Not as good as the reviews
The UI of the app is far too complicated and notifications are sporadic. Adding equipment was a ballache and far more difficult than necessary.
I “upgraded” to Aqara from Ring on the understanding it worked well with Apple Home Kit, which, on the app alone was a mistake. Doorbell recordings are 6 to 10 seconds at best and miss most events. At best I’ve got the back of someone’s head rather than facial recognition.

I’ve just bought this door bell, the picture quality is amazing. One major downside is the type of sound notifications allowed on IOS. Very limited. Do miss a few notifications because of this. The ring door bells notification sound was a lot better!

We have just purchased multiple products, followed the instruction and downloaded the app so we can connect all the devices. But the app won’t launch, and will just be stuck on the “Aqara Home” screen every time we open the app. If we wait for the app to load from that screen, the app eventually crashes and closes itself. Not iOS-17 Compatible
Just received the G4 doorbell and have followed the instructions and the Aqara Home App keeps crashing when trying to open it. I’m only assuming it isn’t compatible with the latest iOS 🤷🏼♂️
The saving grace is that it still works in HomeKit but I’m limited to the settings which are available.
Hopefully Aqara will respond with an update to the issue.

The products are very great, but this app is too confusing and there are way too many options and settings which don’t make any sense. Also could you please add option to see Matter products within Aqara app. We also need to see battery level for your new door and window sensor P2. How do you expect us to know when to change battery? When the product dies while on holidays? You have to add this feature because without it it’s just pointless and useless.

Was fine until the update
I don't know what you've done, but since the app has been updated, it's unusable. It keeps crashing, takes forever to even load the video and forget trying to tap on anything while viewing the cam, it'll crash. The time Stamp doesn't change, so I know it's crashed already before even doing anything. I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling it and it has made no difference. I also hate the new blue timeline. It's confusing. It made more sense when it was only blue on the recorded time. Now it's just blue for future time too. Awful app to use. Basically making the camera redundant because I can't use the app the view the cam without it crashing or freezing upon opening.

Great door bell not so great app
The doorbell is brilliant and so easy to install and set up. I had so issues later with to many notifications which the company were resolving anyway.
The app sadly looks so old fashioned and is your difficult to navigate. A lot of the doorbell setting seem to have disappeared in the last update so I now use HomeKit to see doorbell and videos.
App needs some work but doorbell is 1st class

It works as it should but it does need an overhaul regarding the design. It looks 90s rather than 2023 and the Home overview could be just one screen to see all devices and arm/disarm the system. Currently you need to tab the Home Service tile to get there. Also, maybe have a separate colour for each state.

G4 Doorbell HomeKit homepage tile view no video
Hi developer,
The last software update for the G4 doorbell has given a error with in the HomeKit app on the homepage where you can see all your camera view, it shows not responding. Tried all the relevant troubleshooting. Is there a know bug or fix. If you click on the camera that say not responding it opens up the camera view which then shows the live stream.

Poor Vision?
Why are the device cards so big? I can only assume that they are the size they are so that people with very poor eyesight can see them.
They could be a third, if not a quarter of the size they are and still display the information that they currently do, and you could fit more of them on a screen.
On an iPad you get 4 whole cards and 2 part cards. If you could resize them you’d be able to get 12 to 16 on a screen and not loose at information.

Just a bit confusing which devices are supported between the Xiaomi and Aqara apps - combining these apps would be amazing.
Xiaomi and Aqara devices are brilliant, but sadly don’t work with Home Assistant - or else they would sell out!

A privacy and Apple App Store policy violation
Firstly, the app requires creating an account, when the App Store guidelines require that the account should only be required if the app cannot be used without the account. All I wanted is to record video to SD card, which is not possible, apparently, without creating the account.
Secondly, the app requires the access to my location information as a condition to connect the camera to my WiFi network (Apple HomeKit doesn’t require it, but I didn’t plan to use it with HomeKit, as I didn’t have Apple TV).
At this point I put the camera back in the box and sent it back to the retailer.

Works great
Much better than Apple’s Home. Connected the camera in no time and with a 32 Gb micro disk gives 10 day rolling recording. The only downside is in iPad’s landscape mode in Live Mode I lose the sides of the screen.
