I think spelling shed is an amazing game to learn your spellings especially for school.At my school we use spelling shed and my teacher said “I wonder why our old y6 didn’t use spelling shed it helps our new y6 so much!”

Been using this app for years and found it brilliant. However since recent upgrade i can’t make my own lists and this is all I use it for. I need to enter my kids weekly spelling words. It lets me start a list and name it , but I can’t add any words to it. Please fix this !!

Have been using this app for ages now and with two children. The recent update has left a glitch where you are unable to add your own words to a list you create, only select words from the stage lists. This doesn’t help when children have to learn words not on these lists. I can now only get my son to practise some of his 10 spellings on the app rather than all of them. Very disappointing and makes the app now useless. Sort it out please!!

I really want to love this app. It has so much potential and I especially like the feature to create your own spelling lists. Unfortunately though, it is just too twitchy. I have created several of my own lists. When I close the app all the lists look fine but when I reopen the app some of the lists have switched names and some words have disappear from the lists. App updates have not managed to sort this. If anything it seems to have made things worse. Please could you have a look at this issue because I would really like to use your app.

Purchased this so that my son could have some help with learning his weekly spellings from school.
In the beginning it worked fine, but for a while now, at least 4 months, the create your own list hasn’t been working.
I contacted the developers months back and had no reply.
Not impressed and wouldn’t recommend if you’re planning on purchasing it for this reason.

It is a cool game for younger kids. My school uses it and makes sure that we are practicing our spellings, although we can write it on a piece of paper and learn it is suggested to use spelling shed. It is quite popular and it is fun to see you’re name go up on the leader board! 🤗

This app really helps me learn my spellings. The pronunciation of the words are clear. The options of easy, medium, hard or extreme are great. Also the fact that you can replay the word you need to spell is really helpful especially if you are someplace noisy. I would really recommend this app.

Some people find spellings hard, so then they can play on easy mode, but if you it easy you can go from, easy, hard, ultra hard (i think lol) then extreme, over all i think you should download it.

Spelling Shed came highly recommended so I bought it a month ago. Well, it’s very good, and it’s excellent that you can select easy medium hard and extreme. The only problem is that when you type a letter, sometimes it comes up with a different letter. Like if you put ‘t’ and then it put ‘y’ so please fix this otherwise it is annoying and frustrating. Also, when you are trying to be 1st in a school, eventually, you lose your score and some points are taken away. Its very annoying. So don’t take any points away please

My daughter was really excited to get this on her iPad as they use it at school and have a login with league tables. Worked for a few hours, but them started glitching and shutting down as soon as she opened it. We’ve tried reinstalling, but the same thing happens as soon as she logs in, on the iPad and on my phone. Waste of money, we’re really disappointed. Would give no stars if I could, unless there is some workaround someone can tell me about?

Now this is working it’s back to being great. My 9 year old find it very useful for class spellings. I just input his class list into my own list and off he goes!

So right now I’m trying to get on it but it is crashing like mad when I click it it crashes and I’m second place and I’m really wanting to get up to first I once got up there but now it crashing is making me go down. Sometimes when I spell words they say I’m incorrect

No thought has been given to children who need to be able to break a word into phonetic groups to learn the pattern and sounds within a word. Tiles with ‘ph’, ‘’sh’ etc within the easy section would help build confidence allowing the child to move to individual letters as the difficulty grading increases so the child learns the spelling of words.

our school spelling list contains homophones such as poor/pour, coarse/course that don’t have definitions in the app, so it’s pot luck if you get the right spelling. This is rather frustrating and deflating for my son and I when he’s trying so hard. Correct this and it would be a 5 star review. Best spelling app I’ve found to support my son. So glad the school has now picked it up. Thank you.

So it’s great for learning and practise. You have it in schools, you can take part in these hive games.
I don’t know much about them, because I never have done them.
There is a bug with iPads (possibly iPhones) where when you do the homophones, it does it in the man Siri voice thingy, then it doesn’t say what type of word it is. It just says, “heel.” When it’s suppose to say “Heel as in, the back of your foot.” Please look back to this and fix this bug.

I’ve downloaded several of these spelling type games and I’ve been frustrated time and time again.
This one - thankfully!!! - is perfect for enabling my children to practice for their weekly spelling tests by me being able to create my own lists from an extensive list of available words.
The default spelling practice is also very useful for broadening their exposure to spelling new and unfamiliar words.
My main gripe is that the game itself is terrible. It’s like hangman where you need to find the letters and figure out what the word is before you..... run out of bees. Not helpful for learning to spell because you already need to know how to spell fairly well to play hangman.
My other minor issue is that you tap the letters on screen rather than type them so missing an opportunity to practice qwerty letter locations.

We do this at shcool the problem is though if do it on computer u can’t make a another account Cus my friend has this problem
It takes a long time to find out how to do this but forget bout that app great for spelling I use it at school for practicing spellings if u are a teacher u should use this for class wait there’s one more thing I don’t understand it takes u points away

My teacher wanted my class to do this and ever since I’ve started I have enjoyed spellings more I used to think spellings where not that fun but ever since I’ve got this app I love spellings and I think it is ver fun!!!! I have gotten better at my spellings and it’s all because of this app Highly Recommend!!!

Easy to use and good fun, I like the option of creating your own list and the different level of difficulty are great. Only down side is that you cannot track history / results so you have to monitor your child to see how they get on and it would also be nice to be able to create a list of the words they are struggling with.

I put in the words from my children’s weekly spelling test and they spend 10 mins each morning working their way through the different levels. They enjoy it and their results have improved SO much!

I purchased this app for my oldest because my younger son is using it at school. In this version there is no avatar for them to create or improve, the more honey they gain; so no reason to keep playing the game. Also as a parent you cannot see a history of their scores. The child can take a screen shot of their score which is time stamped, but it doesn't say what level they were playing! I am a bit disappointed.

This app was needed for my sons homework. I purchased in good faith, it does not work properly. At first it would give a word to spell, without the correct letter options to spell it, on the beekeeper option of his spelling list it repeats the same 4 or 5 words and does not ask for the full 10 words. This ,priming it had an update option, which I thought would have fixed those problems.. but it now constantly close the app mid spelling test. Very unhappy.

My kids have loved playing this game. I put in their spelling words for the week and off they go. A good tip is later in the week I create a smaller spelling list if the words they have struggled with and they just play with those. My kids scores have improved loads.
