Loyalty Restrictions

You earn loyalty rewards then when you go to use them you’re told you can only use one. So if you have earned a free drink you can’t use it if you have say a 20%. Off reward. So you end up loosing the free drink reward you have earned. The next reward wipes out your previous reward which you could not use. All rewards earned should be available to use?

Our main Vintage Inn’s pub to visit was the Grayhound , great outside space and plenty of parking. Not as welcoming as the Blackhorse Pilgrims Hatch. The staff are extremely welcoming and engaging even when it’s just for drinks, not so in the Grayhound. You don’t seem to get the same feeling when ordering drinks as thou their not interested. When sitting down for food completely different.

The Blackhorse staff appreciate both aspects of a country pub. Drinks with the dog and snack as well as sitting down for lunch and dinner.

Main menu food in both pubs are great and value for money.

The reviews seem to be mostly about the food and service only.

Regarding the app, it would be useful to have prices listed alongside the menu items. It shouldn’t be too much of a chore to update the app menu as prices change.

Also, regarding the food, there appears to be very few vegetarian or vegan options.

We have just been to the Firecrest near Wendover, Bucks. We had a delicious meal and cannot fault the service. The young guy serving us was excellent, really friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back again.

We returned to The Thatched House, Upminster today, first time since its recent refurbishment. It is exquisite and the furnishings especially the chairs are extremely comfortable. Loved the extended menu with some old favourites still available but more options have been added. Loved the kebabs and chip/coleslaw side. The staff are courteous and kind, nothing was too much trouble. We definitely be returning soon and recommending to others as well.

Sunday Dinner- Tame Otter Tamworth

Had a wonderful traditional Sunday roast meal with the family,everything was cooked to perfection and of great quality. What really made our evening was the service we received from Tom our waiter, he was polite and professional and a really pleasant nature. A real asset to the pub. Thank you.

Since update can’t access

I’ve used the app the past year and came to use it today but it said I was logged out.

Attempted log in and it launches a web browser where no keyboard appears for me to input the data despite several attempts.

Gave up and went through the log in with Apple ID however I still had same issue where can’t change or input any data. It was asking for my DOB but that can’t be done as it doesn’t launch a keypad or calendar.

Deleted app. Reinstalled app. Same issues.

So app is binned and we’re back to the previous way of booking a table after google search and phoning directly.

Downloaded the app three days ago to take advantage of the £20 off offer this weekend - cannot sign up to get the voucher, repeatedly gives the message “There’s been an issue, please try again”.

We as a family have been to The Bakers Arms many times over a twenty eight year period, always great service and good food.

Not today, the quality of the food and the presentation was very disappointing, even sent my pudding back, not what we are used to from The Bakers Arms.

Staff Knowledge of the App

The number of times I’ve given my phone to team members to get rewards towards both ale and food and they’ve either not known what to do or handed it back to me confidently only for me to discover later that’s nothing been added is a source of some frustration. The app is cumbersome and has too many windows; you need to simplify it or train your staff more effectively - ideally do both.

We’ve always found Vintage Inns to provide excellent service, even through the recent tough times. They’re good is superb ! Also, their premises simply add to the ambience. The Stretton Fox is our favourite. Thank you to the friendly staff there too.

The Waltham Abbey U3A Eating Out Group went to The Crown Broxbourne on Wednesday 19th October lunch time and the service was excellent. Poor service and care

Staff need to pay more attention to what is and isn’t on the menu, also should they be on there personal phones while at work?

Food was good but service and care was shocking as we were forgotten about for half an hour waiting for our plates to be cleared away whilst the staff stood around and had a chat. The manager seemed as if she didn’t know what she was talking about and seemed she had no enthusiasm for her job.

My husband and I are sitting comfortably in the old Stables at Fontwell West Sussex celebrating my birthday. The service was it usual exemplary service and the food was mostly delicious. The wine I selected was a superb large glass of Malbec. We will return it’s one of our faves. Thanks so much

Unhelpful staff in relation to loyalty points

It would be helpful if the staff asked to see if you had a membership card as I ve missed out 5 times on points now through not knowing. Today I said I didn’t realise it was like the tGi system. Poor Rewards Scheme

If it was not for the poor functionality of the rewards and wallet section and lack staff knowledge how the app works, I would have given a much higher score, as the app in general is relatively easy to navigate. The rewards scheme is over complicated. Most other pubs, same as supermarkets offer a loyalty points system, where the user logs in and the the till at the bar recognise this, with the staff being able to easily add the points and take payments from registered cards. The points can then be easily redeemed for food or drink.

Really good service from Darcy at Trent Lock. She was friendly and efficient. Main courses (Sunday roast) were very good but there were no options for desserts with custard (e.g. apple pie or fruit crumble). We opted for cheesecake and caramel biscuit torte; neither was particularly nice

Been to bakersArms for a meal & was greeted with a very warm friendly welcome & shown to our table& served by a lovely lady called Kate .Kate Took time to chat to us & make us feel welcome . App better than lazy staff

App worked ok, although large download took a while. Quite a lot of admin to pop in for a drink - typing payment details into yet another single-use app. Staff then stood around chatting about their weekend plans while ignoring the electronic order, until (10 mins later) we walked into the bar to ask them to bring our drinks out. Looking forward to being able to order drinks from a human again, hopefully soon.

Useless

Today being 7 September I tried to book a table for 10 September. The app wouldn't accept the booking, saying the booking time and date had to be one in the future. Right now 10 September IS IN THE FUTURE. So I had to resort to ringing the pub where an electronic "press button 1 for this" etc. took over, taking far longer than dealing with an actual human being (remember those?) would have. Get your act together Vintage Inns.

Not working on xr

This app worked great until iOS update and now hangs on a white screen after the splash screen. The new update replaced the white screen with downloading images text, but still hangs. Please return the functionality. It looks like any loyalty bonuses are lost without an app that works

Booking via the app just opens up the website...

I have always used the website to make bookings before, but decided to give the app a go as I thought this might simplify making future bookings. So after downloading the app I registered, which involved giving my details (name, email, postcode, phone number, date of birth). So imagine my disdain when it came to making a booking with the app- all it does is run the website in the app. And guess what? The website then asked me for all my details! So once again I had to enter my name, email, postcode, etc.

What a wasted opportunity. Surely the app can enter these details rather than having to enter this manually with each booking? I may as well just use the website and at least control opting out of the cookies that I don’t want.

It was good until....

This app was great. Used it a lot for free beers n snacks, %ages off mains, pie Wednesday, weekend treats the whole works. You could see the notifications coming in you would read them and then they would disappear. Don’t know what happened but now the number of notifications doesn’t go away and currently on 8 and won’t delete. I’ve tried reinstalling the app to no avail and I’ve checked I’m on the latest version but still they won’t go !

LOVE it!!!

This is what all apps should be like. It does exactly what it says on the tin! You can find restaurants, check out menus and book a table. I love the fact you can even pay with it, saves time hanging around waiting to pay. You get a message to let you know payment has been made and that you can leave and a receipt goes to your mailbox - love it 👍
