The card hardly works anywhere. The app is so basic. Saved payment card is never said. The balance is never up to date. You accept a credit limit increase and then two weeks later they vary the agreement snd you pay double back from what was on the original agreement. Even with zero balance you pay the subscription it is such a joke.

The worst experience ever with an app! No matter how many times you try you can’t make payments online. It asks for the extra authorisation but the app never works and shows the payment for you to authorise meaning online payments are always declined. I wish I hadn’t taken this card out. Calling customer services and they are useless too and tell you to update the app and so fed up of telling them I have the latest version and they do NOTHING!

This app is one of the worst I’ve used. Half the time it won’t load, it won’t allow me to view statements - for verification of online purchases it’s absolutely useless as it never comes through to authorise the payment (that’s if the app even loads in the first place). Needless to say I’ll be clearing my balance and getting rid of this card, what’s the point when you can’t even use it online due to the app being such a failure!

I only hope that someone somewhere is reading this before applying for a 118 credit card.
If you are in fact reading this before applying, just ask yourself one very simple question: “Do I want to purchase anything online?” If the answer is “yes because it’s 2022” then hold your horses - this app will do everything in its power to stop you spending online.
The fun starts when you need to authenticate your purchase online (y’know, like all cards manage to do quite easily?) You’ll be asked to authenticate using the 118 app - that will then crash as soon as you go into it. You’ll never be able to authenticate your purchase. If you ring up customer services they’ll just get you to go through the same load of rubbish without actually ever helping “Have you filled out your 5 security questions?” (The ones that your app or site never seems to ask me before crashing?) “have you deleted and installed the app again?” (Probably more times than anyone on your dev team has, I would hazard a guess)
If there is such a thing as purgatory, it’s trying to authenticate an online purchase using the 118 card.
Please please please don’t go anywhere near this card. Read the other reviews and read the rubbish text and paste comments from 118 and form your own judgment. (By the way, I’ve had the card a week and I’m already terminating my agreement)

Never ever dealt with a company like it, app doesn’t work, even trying for a week now to make a balance transfer over the phone after waiting one day for an hour on hold, line is constantly cut off or no agents available, trying to link card to PayPal and asks for authentication in the app, no where to approve in the app, spoke to chat facility and advised to ensure up to date app, updated my phone hoping that was the issue, nope still doesn’t work, notification comes through and the app crashes, absolutely had enough

In terms of the card itself, I’ve had no problems. Good credit limit, customer service has been good on the few occasions I’ve needed to call. However the app is absolutely atrocious. I end up uninstalling and reinstalling every other week just to access it. It either gets stuck on the login page, goes blank after or won’t open at all. Bit of a shame as I have no complaints about the card itself

Accepted my application but wouldn’t accept my main bank account so had to use work account. Complained & just get weekly emails saying they’re ‘looking into it’ but nothing actually happens. Now, the card fails to work online half the time - something as simple as ordering a meal off Just Eat & payment fails, ordering cat litter & payment fails. Then I go into my account & see ‘payment pending’ for the ‘failed’ payments. I don’t think I’ll be keeping this card.
EDIT: Now able to use online - except… when security asks me to approve purchase in the app - THERE IS NOWHERE TO APPROVE PURCHASES!! It’s never ending. Is this just all a big joke?

I’ve only just opened account. Wish I had read reviews regarding the app.
I haven’t even received card yet but the app won’t load properly. Flashes in and off and only occasionally gets past face recognition. I’ve got the latest iPhone and I can’t believe how bad this app is. Never seen an app either to so bad ( or not work as the case may be.
I have many banking apps , all that work perfectly. What on earth is wrong with this? With all the technology available it’s unbelievable an app can be this bad.
I can only hope it will get fixed.

I’m actually fed up chatting with customer services about not being able to make online purchases. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, it’s the most updated version, I have the latest iOS version and my online purchases STILL get declined. I’m never asked a security question nor am I asked to verify a purchase in the app - they just get flat out declined.
No-one seems to be able to solve the problem other than telling me to “deal directly with the merchant”. I don’t want to, I want to be able to make online purchases smoothly without the hassle. I’ve done everything that’s been suggested and it still doesn’t work. The app isn’t doing what it’s supposed to if there is no place to verify purchases.

Where to start?? App freaks out and then your left with a blank screen and the only thing you can do is delete it and then re download it and sign in again. I’ve also been left unable to use my card to shop online and when I go to purchase something it tells me to use the app to authenticate the transaction but when I go to the app there’s nothing there to authenticate. I’ve spoken to two different people about this and the only thing they can suggest is to delete the app and reinstall it, which hasn’t helped in the slightest. The app will not recognise my password and it is a password I know to be correct when I enter it. I asked for a password reset but the email never comes through for me to reset, even after checking my junk mail. I telephoned customer support but they could not resolve the issue. I have a credit card with 118 (one with the card fee) they were fab at first but now I can’t even access my account. I know my password is correct as I’ve never changed it, I click on the reset password link, put my email address in but the reset email never comes. If minus 2000 stars were available it still wouldn’t be low enough. App kicked me out and won’t accept my password, can’t of changed as it was saved on my phone. Can’t log in on safari as it says to reset password, request the email and it doesn’t come through. Called customer services 5 weeks ago, said the dept was shut and they would message them. Nothing two weeks later. Have called, emailed and live chatted and still can’t get in my account. Go to a cash point and balance request gets rejected and tried several places. Have cancelled my payment now, I bet they are on me in seconds when they don’t get paid. I will take 6 weeks to respond and see how it goes down.

The app logged me out, and I forgot my password. Upon attempting to reset it, you never receive the reset link. When you phone them to sort it, they’re slow to action the issue. I am eager to manage my account, and since the online app is the only way to do this; it’s disappointing to say the least. I plan on closing the account.

This went on for THREE MONTHS, and I was still locked out of my account. I was forced to close it. My 2 year old could run a better credit card company than these clowns. Avoid at all costs.

App works about twice and then stops working. As other commenters have noted the app needs to be deleted and reinstalled to get it working again.
Looking at the version history it was last updated over a year ago so the likelihood of it being fixed anytime soon I’d say is slim to none despite the number of comments from the “developer” about it being resolved soon.
Better to skip the app and jump straight into the website instead as at least that is functional.

This app keeps having to be deleted and reinstalled on a regular basis - every few times it’s used, as per other people’s reviews.
Also, I made a payment of £200 to my card through the app, and the payment has cleared through my bank but there’s an additional £200 pending on my bank account, so I’m done £200 until this is released back to me, and on the 1st of the month when most my bills come off 😫

Working after short use then you can’t do anything in the app just a blank screen. After removing and reinstalling and setting up again it will work for a short while and then stop working again. Honestly the most frustrating thing it will work fine for a day or two then it will crash and everytime you log in it takes you to a blank home page you can select other options but nothing changes. You can also click to log out but again nothing happens. This is likely to cause more people debt through poor app management making it harder to make payments on your account. I’ve been a customer of these guys for a good 2 & half years & considering the high fees they charge, you’d think they’d be able to deliver even a basic app that allows me to see my balance & more importantly pay my bill each month in an easy way. Not the case. It would be better for their reputation to just withdraw the app altogether then let us know when a new one is ready to go. As a lot of people have said, just a blank screen.

Very easy app to use when you know how to use it.
What Iv found out is that when you have downloaded the app and it asks you sign in do it but when it ask you to save it and use Face Recognition don’t!!
The app don’t work with any of that just sign in as Normal then deny any prompts. 👍🏻🥸

This app is useless. Half of the time it doesn’t work, it freezes or just gives us a white screen. If it it’s not that then it kicks you out all of the time saying your session has expired. I think this happens at least once a month! If I have entered my details and I’ve stored them in your app why do I need to repeat this process over and over again? Sometimes I’ve even had to delete the app and download it again just to get it to work! Rubbish and needs some serious work.

I’ve had the card for about 2 months and the app is blank and won’t let me see my balance. I don’t feel confident using this card because it’s so hard to get my balance. I pay my balance in full on my direct debit so I either have to guess how much is coming out my account or keep a track of every penny I spend on this card which is annoying. Hopefully this will be sorted ASAP

App barely ever works! Blank screen consistently and not even a bug fix update... I’ll keep guessing what I actually owe! Thank god I set up a direct debit to pay every month... this app could get people in serious financial difficulties not being able to keep track of payments and spending - perhaps some financial service ombudsman service needs to be made aware of just how dangerous this is!!

I haven’t been able to log in to my account despite calling support 3 times. It asks to verify using a text, but it sends the text to the wrong number. The correct number is on my account!? But it comes up with a random mobile number, at the point of log in, which I don’t recognise, asking to verify the log in. So I am unable to log in via this app or online to make payment etc.
Not sure what to do from here, asked support for help 3 times, I get told a ticket has been raised, try again in 48 hours..

This app is not working! I’ve had a credit card with you for about a month not a problem to see this on the app
Since I got a loan with you 2 days ago I can’t see anything on the app ! It’s just blank screen so how can I mange my loan and credit card so you don’t get late payments etc! I don’t want to log in on website has I only see the loan please help

This app is riddled with bugs and the only way to use it on a regular basis is to delete and reinstall the app which is very tedious. It will try and FaceID 1 in 10 times then get stuck where you cannot login or logout, even closing down the app/hard restart doesn’t change anything so you’re left with no choice but to go through the process of deleting and reinstalling the app... come on guys allocate some dev time to enhance your customers experience. The app of any finance company is a major first impression for users and the competition are getting it right - millennials will switch providers because of issues such as this.

The app works ok when signing in for the first time. This lasts around 4/5 logins by which time then, everything disappears when you open the app, it automatically signs you out, asks you to set a passcode (which you’ve already done a number of times when signing in) activate Face ID (which again you’ve already done). It opens to a blank screen which you then have to uninstall the app and reinstall and go through the same process.

Absolutely awful app. I have forgotten my password and requested a new one. An email never gets sent to allow me to change my password. I have contacted 118 several times and no one wishes to help, saying for days now it’s their technical team that needs to fix the issues. Tried to update my bank details too, and told their systems were down for an update. Just an all round amateur set up they have going. Closing account as soon as issue is rectified

Just doesn’t work. Blank screens, no log in, install, reinstall still not working. Latest ios on a iPhone 11.
No live chat available on website.
Looking at the reviews they know about this and just don’t care. Remember - we pay a fee every month to have the card, the rates on loans are not extortionate but they aren’t high street - so for the premium we pay, a basi guns too big app isn’t a big ask.
They need to fire the developers. App downtime in banking for more than 24 hours is inexcusable in 2021.
My cat could do a better job.

The app worked perfectly for months and months but then it just started showing a blank screen , figured out the only way to rectify is to delete the app and then Re install!! Nightmare having to constantly do this when I want to check my balance or make a payment etc !!! Surely to goodness you must have some tech guys to fix this issue ?? But for this would of given 4*+

Having had this app for a while now I find it great when it works or can get into it. Constantly having to delete and reinstall due to issues getting on the app. And when I do download app it keeps saying my password is incorrect so try to reset and don’t receive the email to reset!!!! I update the app regularly but still have this issue.

It’s a basic app that shows your account details, statements, transactions etc. For more options login using browser.
The frustrating thing is adding a passcode and/or face recognition. This ends up crashing the app and you can’t login - end up deleting and re installing.
My workaround is NOT to setup a passcode or use Face recognition. Just login using email and password. Works OK then

The App crashes constantly! I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had to delete it and reinstall it! Even when the app does work, it is so limited what you can do! I wanted to clear my credit card balance in November, but I had to call up to do it, the app doesn’t let you. There is also no way to close your account on the app. For loans, it doesn’t let you request an early settlement figure. It’s a very poor app compared to other banking apps...... currently Just deleting and reinstalling the app for the millionth time!!

App hadn’t worked properly for a long time. See a blank screen more than anything else.
Other banking/credit card apps allow you to change how much you pay per month, notify card lost or stolen. You can’t do this through the app. All involve a phone call. Even without current climate the phones took forever to answer.
Have had multiple notifications about changing payment amounts to clear balance quicker. Yet you can’t easily change them!
I haven’t been able to load my balance for a long time either on the app or direct on the website. Doesn’t instill confidence at all.

Has a bug that appears to cause it to go into an infinite loop of authentication via FaceID (appears to authenticate, log in, but then asks for authentication again and keeps looping.)
Once this happens, or perhaps the underlying cause, the rest of the app becomes non-responsive - showing blank pages for anything except settings.
Have tried logging out (would add logging back in, but I don’t get that option) and restarting the phone. Only solution I’ve found so far that solves this is deleting the app and re-downloading. Hardly convenient or ideal.
The actual financial product itself is good. And when the app is in working order it does the job. Just the bug completely kills the point of using the app for me.

I’ve re-downloaded it multiple times. It works for a day or two then it crashes. When this happens it never loads the homepage. No way to access any of your details. I’ve tried contacting customer services but that hasn’t worked either. I have downloaded this app so many times now! It’s making feel like getting rid of 118 just because of how annoying the app is.
Developers please can you contact me about this. It really needs sorting out.

App is great when it works, you can do anything you need with your account, unfortunately it does seem to be getting worse, constant log in issues with messages saying “can’t connect” or “service down try later” getting more and more frequent unfortunately, if this was fixed it would be a 5 star review

For whatever reason the app went down in March time, heard rumours they had been hacked. After a number of calls trying to get hold of them I finally managed to speak to someone although they couldn’t tell me when the app would be up and running again. This is extremely frustrating and needs to be fixed. When it worked it was good but it’s 6 months now!!!!!

A bad app on the face of a terrible company. I’ve wanted to clear a balance since the end of March and have sent around 8 emails over the past two months with no response. Also advised I’d be called back as a matter of urgency.... 7 weeks ago. Finally got through to a person who could give me a final balance but said I would have to pay the interest up to the date of that call rather than up to the end of March when I first contacted. Not only will this negatively affect my credit rating, I have had the rig morale of having to pass the matter on to the Financial Ombudsman

And when I did I was told they can’t refund me for declined transactions even when I made multiple transactions for the same amount every transaction declined declined declined they don’t give a ........... about their customers just excuse after excuse after excuse would give it a 0 if I could
Managed to get on website tonight it shows all transactions in pending I have been in contact with the companies in question they have no record of transactions
Plus they now said we can give you the transaction number which every merchant needs
I have been in touch with the companies for them to say we have no use of it as there is nothing there
I know I won’t get my money back so I’m now cutting up card and they can stuff it where the sun don’t shine (won’t even let you draw money out of an ATM and I haven’t even blocked the card

Worked well up until last week. Just found out they been hacked and have taken everything offline (app, website down). No human contact when you call them. Generic repeatitive response to every question via webchat app. Just paid large lump sum to my account last week and it hasn’t been added to my card/available funds. Mysteriously disappeared. Not gonna hold my breath.

App has been offline for days now, the website is also down, and phone lines have you on hold for an eternity. (the phone lines been busy under current circumstances however I can forgive) You need to fix this urgently and give the customer back the ability to address their finances during these unpredictable times!

Got a text message to say that people have been working hard to improve the website and the app..obviously this was a lot of rubbish because I can’t get access to anything on either.! Keeps saying can’t fetch account details or something..waste of time. If you want to make things easier for customers or for future customers then get people who know what they’re doing to update things properly so everyone can access their account and make any changes necessary.
