No Solution to a Problem

I’ve always found Edge a useful browser to go alongside Safari but it’s developed an issue that Microsoft are unable to help with. When I view websites with embedded YouTube videos, Edge automatically opens a new tab with the video. If I try to close the tabs they just open again, and it won’t allow me to view the page I want to read. Tried all possible solutions from clearing cache etc and checking extensions (there are none) but the problem remains. It makes any website with embedded YouTube videos unusable. Sadly this will result in me uninstalling the app and using either Firefox or Brave. It’s the only way I can share bookmarks and logins between iPhone and Windows laptop. Having read several forums, it seems the problem affects quite a few other people, yet Microsoft offer no explanation or remedy.
UPDATE: A reply from the developer says that the problem was sorted in the updated version. I updated the app and cleared all data but the problem remains

Edge Copilot app. has stopped working

I was happy with this app. and the Copilot app. that comes with it. However the Copilot app. continuously says I have reached the limit of questions I can send to Bing in 24 hours. This is totally incorrect since it still does this even if not used for more thab 24 hours. This is obviously a bug which has existed for some years according to reports on the internet. Please fix this. For the moment until Microsoft have a solution I have removed tge Edge/Copilot app. from my phone.

Edge is Cutting-Edge

I have regularly returned to Edge over the years. It’s a beautiful experience—refined, cutting-edge, feature-packed, easy-to-use. I’d go as far as to say that, across Mac, Windows and iOS, it’s my favourite digital experience. I just love using the browser, and all its features, synced seamlessly and integrated well with other Microsoft Products. 5/5 stars from me. Kudos to everyone who works on this product. Y’all amazing.

Edge Beats All

I might be a bit bias as I have always been a “Windows” man but it is what you know. I have grown up with it and when you try other browsers, they don’t seem as easy to use I.E. bookmarking your favourite website. There is also a seamless transition between what you have set up on a P.C. and then can also be found set up on the “Edge” app. Another example of that would be passwords and usernames.
Never quite understood how “Chrome” or the other so-called “popular” ones became popular other than due to the fact of the operating system of the phone and most humans being followers rather than leaders. I also personally never give full stars unless it is deserved so, this is rare for me to dish out. Are you a follower? “Microsoft” can pay me anytime for the trademark to that slogan.

Basic Features Missing

There's not much to choose between browsers these days especially as on iOS they're all built on top of Safari.
I hoped Edge would offer something but it disappoints. You can't add more than 7 shortcuts on your homepage for example. There's plenty space but they've chosen the strange limit of seven.
You can't get around that by changing your homepage to a URL of your choosing because no such option exists. I've never seen a browser in any platform which doesn't let you set the homepage.
And I'd like to clear browsing history on exit but can't.
Three mind numbingly simple features that you can see people complaining about for YEARS and nothing ever changes.
Ditch your Copilot nonsense and work on the basics Microsoft.

Dark mode needs fixing

I love that you guys have put in a superb dark mode unlike other companies. I will move to chrome if it is fully fixed - at the moment nearly every page that is opened with dark mode loads initially with a white background, then the dark mode loads. This looks very messy and is jarring to the eyes if you need dark mode to rest the eyes. I really hope you can fix this - once each page is fully loaded in dark mode it all looks superb. Many thanks from Rob

Go co-pilot!

I have been singing the praises of co-pilot to my friends and family. Rather than a list of websites you get an answer with the websites as references - much more useful. For me, all the functionality of Edge is in itself reason to ditch Chrome. But with co-pilot and the ability to alt+tab between Edge tabs, which Chrome doesn’t allow, it’s bloody fantastic. I use a touchscreen tablet with keyboard so alt tabbing is an efficient way to move around windows.

Efficient waitresses and a smile is good for business. The food was well presented and tasty and enjoyable. The house wine (pinot, merlot) was superb. Well done all the kitchen staff and waitress staff my friends in our walking group were very pleased and satisfied with their choice of food. Overall Very Good

The edge browser is mint, it really is, this is now my go to browser across all of my devices, on the pc, it has replaced Firefox/Chrome, I’ve been using edge since the early days, I think it was Spartan then but name changed to edge, overall though, I have had mostly great experiences with using this app on all devices, only downer is that with the frequency of the updates it does seem to slow it down somewhat, however other updates do end up fixing this issue.
Other than some of the bugs already mentioned in the comments, it is working superbly and flawlessly great job Microsoft.

Works well but could be better

I decided to use Edge on my iPhone 13 Pro, to take advantage of the bookmark and history syncing features between Edge on my W11 laptop and Edge on my iPhone. I also like the ability to send tabs between devices. However, some web pages don't work very well (mostly payment forms etc), so I still have to use Safari for those, and unfortunately I don't know which ones will work and which ones won't until I try them.
Password and 2FA codes don't always fill either, and Edge on iPhone, doesn't always display the entry fields for 2FA or capatchas.
All in all, I am happy with Edge on iPhone, but jt coikf be better.

It’s reaction time… is useless

When I need to search something up quickly, it glitches sometimes and turns from like 3 seconds reaction to 2 minutes! Chrome is my default browser at the moment, it is fast paced. If Microsoft Edge could be as fast as that, brilliant! I only downloaded it for the sake of Microsoft Rewards… sometimes just clicking on the tasks u need to do every day glitches the whole of Microsoft Edge up. It’s not as reliable as chrome… if my default browser was Edge, then it would make things a whole lot easier with Microsoft apps connecting and Microsoft Rewards all in one. Thank you.

Bing chat user face issues on IOS I PAD

I have used bing before, to some success. It isn’t my go to SEO but its okay. I downloaded edge purely to cross reference my experience with its LLM. However, after downloading the user interface is bugging out on my IPad Pro.
It’s there but sort of bugs out and goes invisible so the chat log, and message part of the UI goes in and out of visibility if I scroll, and remains invisible otherwise. Rendering it inoperable. Otherwise, the message input box is visible, as is the URL bar. So it’s purely localised to the bing chat. I will review in a day or two again, and update the review accordingly.

Great app

I switched to edge on my iPhone about 6 months ago because I got a windows laptop and wanted to use the same browser across all my devices (can't get safari on Windows) and I haven't regretted the switch at all. Just having the convenience off tabs and other various things syncing across all devices. The layout is intuitive and fairly consistent as well. The only thing I could complain about is a lack off personalisation. Overall a great app

Genuinely great and usable thanks to ChatGPT integration

The Bing search is now great due to ChatGPT integration, probably better than google which is amazing.
The browser is very intuitive and easy to use. Much more professional looking and feature heavy than Safari.
The only downside which it needs to iron out, is it refreshes every webpage you’re looking at after around 15 seconds, which is highly annoying when reading or filling in forms.

Great Cross Platform Browser

I moved from a Mac to PC mainly for gaming purposes. I didn’t like the privacy set up with Google and due to windows no longer having Safari I was stuck. I had Edge on my PC and was pleasantly surprised and impressed with its layout. It was a bit clunky at first but after lots of bug fixes I think it is now a great browser. It now syncs seamlessly with Safari and also allows integration with iCloud. I loved it so much I use it on my iPhone and iPad. Highly recommended.

Great browser replacing safari

This browser is replacing safari as I need to have all my water experience sync with windows as I have different profiles. Really nice and less crashes when navigating with edge.
I have not give 5 stars as I would love to have the address bar in the lower part of the screen.
Hopefully a new release update will sort this out. I will change to 5 starts then.

Every so often the do something to make this useless. Today is one such day. I cannot now edit or change the “recent” thumbnail icons below the address bar as I’d need to have the fingers of a gnat to manage to click on the unpin icon.
But why would I want to unpin them if they are recent? Well, because until this update, they were, but now they are not. I’ve no idea from what point in the annuls of time its find these sites in my history (quite worrying really) but one site relates to an event I booked over 18 months ago.
If anyone had tried to perform these simple tasks while in testing they would have realised something isn’t right. Please can we do UI testing on an actual mobile device with someone who has normal sized digits on the end of their hands.

Edge is good, but stop forcing bing!

The browser it's self is very good, nice and light weight if a little cluttered. Syncs with your Microsoft account which is great.
What Microsoft don't seem to understand is they need to stop making the same mistake they always make which is forcing the user to use bing in the new tab page which you can't turn off. It will kill this mobile browser, it will also kill the desktop browser.
Be happy selling the metrics you collect from the user, stop forcing me to use you subpar search engine.

No external password managers.

I was trying to move my general devices ecosystem away from the stock apple products as i would like everything to be syncable to my computer (which is not a Mac) as you know Apple are very restrictive on what their programs work with, and as such discontinued the use of Safari on Windows. I felt edge was the solution to this problem, as it is more similar to the Safari app than Chrome is, however i have noticed that my passwords which are managed by an app called LastPass, are not accessible from within the edge app. Therefore i am uninstalling and finding an alternative solution.

Collections

I downloaded this app because of the collections. Unfortunately they do not work as I had hoped. The saved pages do not update automatically and only link to the original page chosen. I use a rolling daily app and it would be great if the latest page was saved in the collection instead of having to set a new one each day and deleting the old. My old browser has tab groups which update (the only good thing). Please could this be incorporated into Edge. Thanks.

Latest update removed webarchive support

The only reason why I used to use this app is because it supported the webarchive file format. This worked absolutely fine until the most recent update, updated today. Webarchive is no longer supported. If you try to load a webarchive file iOS gives you the error “Edge cannot handle this link”. Hopeless.
Why remove it? What’s more, why remove it quietly without telling anyone before they realise that they suddenly cannot open their webarchive files?

Terrible app

Keeps asking for updates then losing all tabs every single time. Even without an update just lost my history too. If it wasn’t for Xbox rewards I wouldn’t use it at all. Same with Mac version too, although that is slightly better and even the Xbox version doesn’t seem modern compared to Safari, Chrome and many others.
Edge is slow, unintuitive, I can’t think of anything that good about this browser. I’ve tried loads and I guess one thing I can say Is it doesn’t crash much. That’s it. I’d look elsewhere if I was you. How this has so many positive reviews is beyond me. Oh well, each to their own I suppose.

Good browser but needs a bit more work

Been using edge for both home and work use for a while now. It works ok most of the time, but get the odd time where you need to go back a page and reload in order for it to work properly. However between using Edge and Chrome, you’ll notice how many more sites are more reliable on Chrome.
I wish there was a more condensed view of favourites similar to Safari. The current view takes too much space and demands a lot of scrolling if you have a large amount of favourites. That said, the latest updates have made the browser a lot more usable. It now remembers where you want to save favourites instead of defaulting to Mobile favourites all the time. The new interface is really clean too, much better than before. Sync still needs improving as it will regularly stop working forcing a manual reset and full sync to start working again.
Edge is great for work use, but personal use is better with Chrome.

Update: fixed: Thank you Microsoft!!!

I don’t know what happened or which update it was, but recently it stopped displaying desktop websites by default, so I’ve had to completely alter my workflow and switch to safari, which is a bit of a nightmare because I’m on windows for work purposes. Please review this decision Microsoft, or give use the option of which version we’d like displayed by default! Thanks

I think we’re there…

I’m moving over from Google Chrome to Edge on mobile!
Massive edge chromium fan, use it on windows and macOS, especially since chrome has become a fat memory hog that kills your battery in recent years. Functionally a great browser, speedy with consistent performance.
Why only two profiles on iOS? Give us more please, I use at least 4 different identities, personal, professional, academic and hobby.

Crashes my iPhone when accessing searched pages

This is fine if you only want to search for things and view the initial list of returned searches. If you choose to actually visit a page from that search within the app is when things get unstable. You can usually see the initial webpage but when you start to navigate around or try to go back to the original search page is when things start to go wrong. The app becomes unresponsive and more often than not locks up my iPhone and causes it to restart.
I assume from the average review scores that this isn’t a common issue as to me it’s pretty much unusable.
I only use the app to help with searches for Microsoft Rewards programme because I can get bing and edge searches at the same time. But I’d never choose to use it over safari or chrome on my phone.

Really Would Recommend

In the beginning I only got this because the continue on phone app was losing support but if I got edge I could still do it. So I got this for that reason alone. Little did I know that later down the line that I would set this as my PRIMARY browser. Yes of course it still has some bugs and little chinks in the coding but I'm sure Microsoft are fixing them and finding them as you read this message.
Overall this is a brilliant, user friendly app that I LOVE. If you would like Microsoft I could get in touch and tell you about the little buzgs I was talking about earlier to help improve the experience of otheres.

Read aloud function

The only reason I downloaded the Edge was to use the read aloud function. But it does not give any option to customise the play status bar, which remains at the very top of the screen. Also it does not easily let you select text to read from, always reads it from the top. Very difficult to try and make it read elsewhere. Can you please make it more user friendly so it’s useful? Thanks

Automatically closing tabs

It’s now a great and a worthy replacement for Chrome. I’ve now fully transitioned and fairly happy with Edge.
However the only reason this isn’t a five star review is due to the annoying habit Edge has of automatically closing tabs when you use it with multiple accounts. I use work and home accounts and will often keep multiple tabs open in each account. However Edge will frequently close all the tabs in the account that’s not active. This is very annoying and will hopefully be fixed soon.

A speedy and functional browser, but has a serious flaw

The basics of the review, the browser works, fast. It’s speedy and usually extremely responsive (at least for me it’s faster than Chrome even running on the same engine). Plenty of features, and sync seems to work well.
However, all of this bursts into a big ball of flames if you have the cheek to swipe from left to right to go back a page, because it crashes your device. I’ve reinstalled, removed my account, the usual troubleshooting tips you’d expect even your Nan to do, and yet it still happens. It also happens on occasion if I press the back button on bottom bar as well. So I’m buggered if I accidentally forget and swipe back, because I’m about to get an automatic restart of the phone.
It’s an extremely infuriating issue that plagues a very good browser when it’s actually not restarting your phone.
Therefore I can only give two stars at this moment, I’d advise MS to look into this. Once the issue is fixed, I would be more than happy to revise this to a 4 star review.

Slow on iPhone, terrible user experience on ipad

This app takes about 7 seconds to load on my iPhone, when Safari takes about 2. It also takes much longer than Safari to load up websites. It feels like its running the old version of Edge but it has the new design.
On the ipad it at actually feels like it's running the chromium edge as it is actually fast. However, the design it not unified with the Desktop and phone. For example, it has squared tabs which were removed from the desktop almost a year ago. Also it makes it 10 times harder to download things than Safari. And finally, this is just my opinion, it looks straight up ugly.
Seriously, get some of the your Edge Mobile team to work on this. Until then, I'll use Chrome or Safari.

No download manager

I have to say that I love the new Edge and have switched away from Chrome on my desktop PC. I have decided to use Edge on iOS as I like to keep everything in sync with my PC but the only thing holding me back is that it seems like I can’t download anything in Edge. Whenever I try to download a zip file for example, it keeps telling me that it can’t open the requested file type.
This is the only complaint I have. Could you build in a download manager?

Some Serious Limitations

I’ve given it 3 stars as I like the new Edge in general, inc. on iPadOS but it has some serious limitations.
SIGNIFICANTLY - there is NO function to download files, or even to share to Files app or MS own OneDrive app! If iPads and phones are productivity devices now, how am I supposed to work when I can’t save a file? Needless to say, Safari does this - which I DO NOT want to use.
Also sync does not work, or as expected at least. I’d expect my visited sites and favourites to fully sync via my MS account yet they do not, and it seems neither do passwords. Saved passwords are variable also as to detection of forms to complete.
As I say though, there is no see less sync of visited sites, inc. history.
ALSO, every website detects this as a very old version of Safari - why is this? And things like WhatsApp Web do’t detect it as a desktop app even in desktop mode. This again is a serious limitation and makes using the iPad as a productivity device, which Apple do sell them as now, impossible.
I will have to use another browser temporarily which is frustrating.

One big downside

I prefer this app to Safari and really like that it closes tabs on exit. It may be the only one to do this on the phone that I can find. I am very security conscious and closing the tabs is good.
The DOWNSIDE is that there is no option to “clear browsing history on exit” just like the desktop version has. No matter how much you use adblocker and request not to track, the amount of cookies that companies still load into your browse to track your behaviour. I would like to see a toggle in settings to switch this on to clear my browsing history on exit so that I don’t have to keep actively going into settings and clearing it manually. It would also allow us EU Privacy Practitioners peace of mind that the app is PECR 2003 and GDPR compliant.

Wonderful

I really like the new edge. It is fast and responsive, and it seems to provide a good shield against unwanted ads.
Only complaint so far is that there are instances where it doesn’t use appropriately the iOS keyboard and it fails in displaying suggestion for opening password manager. Instead, it just shows the navigation arrows (on safari the same web page correctly shows two levels of keyboard suggestions)

Works OK , but doesn’t like Facebook.

In order to save installing bloated apps on my iPad, I prefer to use the browser for things like Facebook (of which I’m only an occasional user).
However typing in comments (and some posts) is an adventure. I get double spaces between every word which I have to manually remove one-by-one and sometimes I get a random word inserted as well.
Edge is my favourite platform agnostic browser but please make it work for Facebook especially on iOS.

Excellent job

I downloaded Edge last week (onto my iPhoneSE and iPad) after seeing a favourable report on the Windows version in ComputerActive magazine. Within a day, it had become my favourite browser by far, replacing Safari, and the others I would switch to when unhappy with Safari eg Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Brave, Maxthon.... It is very fast and has all the features one has come to expect, and more. The developers have done an outstanding job with this browser.

Shame

I’ve just upgraded my PC and it has Windows 10 and with this browser being the standard it was recommended, from a security point of view, that it be installed on my phone! That’s where the problem started, I’m afraid. I have an iPhone 7 and I’ve had to delete ‘edge’ because of the battery usage! It absurdly absolutely eats battery life! Sorry, but there you go - it’s gone! Shame because, on the PC, it appears to be a very stable browser - far better that the old ‘Ms-explorer’, but there ya go!
Thanks for your response, and it appears that I may have been a little hasty in putting the blame for the loss of battery onto your shoulders! All I know is that despite me having not used it on my phone, other than the initial sign in that is, it was well and truly planted at the top of the list in the battery usage list within ‘settings’ at 34% for the previous 24 hours. Because, with there being no apparent difference, I have actually looked at the problem on the Apple web site and I’m not the only one to have their battery usage increased (5 hours instead of the used to be, at least 12 hours!) The ‘system update/upgrade’🤪 to 13.4 is the problem apparently! So I think we’re all looking forward the 13.4.1 update which will hopefully include a ‘fix’ for this problem! Thanks again!

I like it but is there a bug?

I really like the app and the features it has to offer. Also really like the idea of having the same browser as on PC. However, it seems that once this app checks location it stays on permanently until you close and reopen the app. Shown by the location triangle. This causes me battery concerns. Other browsers including safari don’t do this. Is it a bug? Perhaps the Devs can advise. Would definitely use the app but this one thing concerns me. I don’t wish to turn location off completely as I find it useful on.

AdBlock Plus integration and privacy settings - better than Safari

As someone who cannot use websites if they contain too many distracting ads, I love Edge as it has AdBlock Plus integrated. This makes websites easier to read, while maintaining an acceptable ads policy. It has many privacy features too, that beat Safari and Chrome. Only other feature missing I would like is Dark mode web page rendering. Overall, great job Microsoft!

FAIL - No bookmark sync

I've been with this browser since day one, keeping the faith. But no longer. The main problem is bookmark sync across devices just doesn't work. I mean Jesus H. The amount of HOT AIR that Microsoft spout over this is ridiculous. I just want to see bookmarks on my smartphone and laptop. Is that too much to ask?
I'm extremely busy and I want something that just works. THIS DOES NOT WORK. Microsoft have all this c**p about "make sure this option is on", "Look on task manager to make sure this is running", "restart this process". My God it's like reprogramming the thing from scratch. And it still fails!
Well I've had enough. From today I've gone to Chrome and activated sync to Safari. And guess what ... this ... just ... works. It's as simple as that. Oh the joy of bookmarks just spreading across all devices. Why those cretins at Microsoft can't do this in 2020 is beyond me.
If you need to sync your bookmarks across devices (who doesn't?) then go for Chrome. Unlike this heap of h***e s**t, it just works! Well done Google!

Still playing Chrome catch-up, but not bad

I rarely use Edge. There's nothing wrong with it, I just have 15+ years of synchronised Chrome data (bookmarks, history, extensions, settings), accumulated while avoiding the terrible Internet Explorer, which means there's no reason to switch. I did that with Firefox back in 2009, and Chrome fills every need in one way or another, so little need to shop around for a new browser.
The constant begging to use Bing over Google just feels desperate, too, like I'm being constantly harangued by the Microsoft marketing department.
Yet I use Windows 10, and it's nice to have some big-screen pc integration with my iPhone. Edge seems to be making a few strides towards having a seamless cross-device experience. Being able to send texts direct from my PC, which I can already do with WhatsApp (and Mac users have been able to for years), is a Nice Thing To Have. And sending web pages from phone to PC feels like a pleasantly smooth and reactive transition.
So who knows, maybe I'll start using Edge a bit more in the future.

Works well but slow at startup

The browser works well, I like that I can enable dark mode and that it syncs data between here and Edge on my computer. I like that there is an easy option to make a site render as it would on a desktop, nice touch. One issue I find though is that in comparison to Safari it takes a little too long to start up, the Edge loading screen is there for about 1-2 seconds, while this might seem trivial, when I’m trying to do a quick task that delay begins to get irritating compared to Safari which is ready instantly on open, so that is possibly the only thing preventing me from using Edge as my default browser.

I really can’t fault it

Microsoft Edge for iOS is perfect. Yes you might argue that Google Chrome is faster and you can use the same bookmarks but you can do the exact same on Edge. But what’s even better is that at the press of a button the content I’m viewing on my phone appears straight away on my PC, that’s something that Chrome can’t do. As well as this, you’re rewarded for searching on Edge with Microsoft Rewards, and this can help fund charitable donations or entries into sweepstakes.

Slow

I give 4 stars as it takes twice the time to load pages agains Safari which is a shame... I would not be surprised if Apple itself would not be the cause of this poorer performance to entice users to stay with their browser. Images take longer, often pages show as fully downloaded and there is more information you are unable to access specially if you need scrolling down. Pop-ups is the same, you cannot scroll down on a pop-up. I do not think this is a Microsoft fault by the way.

Some Bugs to Iron Out

Having used the browser for a while I am generally happy with it and it has found its way to becoming my default browsing app with Safari having been sidelined, however there are still bugs in the program that need addressing.
When opening a new tab, the 8 self populating quick links are now generating shortcuts to websites that have been opened using the Private Tab option and I would not expect these to be available in this manner, this seems like a fairly new issue as it never happened previously. The only way to get rid of them is to clear the browsing history. Also, I occasionally have difficulty where Edge will load a website but on scrolling down the page the screen does not refresh and it displays as if someone has literally cut the bottom of the page off. On a final note the continuity / timeline features only work for those with a personal Microsoft account, for those of us who have work assigned accounts these are not available and it would be most welcomed if Microsoft extended these add-ons to business users in the same vein.

Better than safari and Firefox and escapes Google’s clutches

I have tried lots of different browsers in iOS. I had been completely locked into google and chrome, but decided I wanted a change, and also to disconnect myself from google. Tried safari but found it slow and annoying. Firefox wouldn’t always load pages properly, but I have had no issues with edge. I don’t even use google as my search provider, using Bing instead. No problems so far.

It's okay but ?

i've decided to still give it five stars because overall it's very good and because I think feedback is more important than complaining.
One thing I have noticed Microsoft which I hope you will look into is, The feature in settings I have set correctly that is related to auto fill save name and password, The ask to save user name and password when you log in to a website you visit, Sadly this does not work Microsoft and example of one of the sites I try to use this was ebay uk. Hopefully you can have a look into this to see if you can fix.
Overall Microsoft other than the above mentioned, I really do like it.

I like it but it has one flaw

I would like to give feedback about the Edge Browser on ios. I think it's a great app but one thing annoys me. When you click a link on a page and it goes to the next page, when you then Swipe back to the page you came from it doesn't take you back to the same spot you were reading. It jumps to the top of the page and you then have to scroll all the way down. Could you please fix that?

Best Browser!

I use Edge on Windows 10 all the time, so sharing my favourites, saved information and history between my devices. Very fast browser, works perfectly on my iPhone X and has become my permanent replacement for Safari!
The only reason it has 4 instead of 5 stars is the lack of customisation on the main screen. There are 8 links which I don’t really use, and I wish I could change this to my most used favourites as that’ll be useful, but sadly no option to do that.
Best thing about it though - the dark mode. I personally am a fan of dark mode in everything, and considering it matches the PC version, makes it even better!

Great!

I have been testing the app over the past few weeks and I am very impressed. The browser is as fast as Safari and keeps my favourites from my desktop. I really like the option to continue on PC, however I'd also like to be able to continue on the phone what I'm browsing on my PC as a next update. Interface is easy to use and the app's layout is also simple. Sometimes an add may want to open app store, which is quite irritating, but Safari also has that issue.
