Basic and functional
The app does what it says on the tin. The sharing options post mix are a bit lacklustre, but it has always done me solid.
However when is the ios26 OS going to be supported?
This app has been unusable since last September time. When I record from my djm, the music is slow and distorted during playback.

Everytime I record to my phone from a lighting cable connected to the mixer it plays back slower and the pitch is bent. I have tried everything to fix this and no luck… used to work perfectly fine and no this app is 💀

Not working anymore
This used to be a easy and simple app to use but recently every time I record a mix, it plays back in slow motion making this app useless. For example when I record a 30 min mix once I press stop recording the time jumps to 40mins and plays back in slow motion! Sort it out!

Would be great but…
Everything about this app works well other than one very important feature, it increases the tempo and pitch of everything recorded. The app is easy to use, easy to connect and very easy to stream, upload or save your content but this one issue ruins that. For example, I record an hour set in 175bpm, the recorded output is 180bpm and about 54 mins in total. I have to import into audacity and change it back. Why do this? Please fix.

Endless error messages. It used to be seamless. Now when I hit go live I get endless errors and trouble shooting issues. Scheduled start time must be in the future is the latest one. Well there is no option to schedule a start time. I used to just hit go. Perhaps it’s just me missing something. But perhaps not.

Recording at double speed
Got a few good sets out of it but has become hit and miss at what speed it will record. Can’t see anything in the settings relating to it and nothings been changed on my sound card as other apps are recording fine.

Since rekordbox wants me to pay a subscription to record mixes which used to just be a feature included with the software, I had a look around and found that this was the recommended software app to use.
After being told a firmware update would be required, I updated my djm750mk2, plugged in my decks, and hey it now records through my usb cable to my phone. All for the price of 10 pounds one off payment.
Go to my decks today to record a mix, app is insisting on using the phones mic to record a mix and not the cable connection as it used to do last week.
I just can’t with alphatheta or whatever pioneer wants to be called now, any more. All the money and monopoly power and none of the user experience.

I felt compelled to write a review as I see this amazing app has many complaints over small things that are easy to check and sort yourself! Test the mic / input signal yourself DJs! Use a decent cable! What more would you like? This is an incredible way to record lossless sound from a phone charger cable. App itself is very user friendly with many options to share the recording and store it. I have recorded many ways from Tascam to laptop to crowd mics over 22 years and this is king providing you have the right mixer of course. Cheers :)

Great but with flaws
Generally, this is a great app, but there is one standout problem which many people have raised and which Pioneer have not addressed. It is the fact that the app defaults to recording from the microphone on your phone, rather than the line in from the mixer via your cable.
It means that when you plug in your phone cable to the mixer, you have to go into the settings to switch off the mic recording option, this is a real pain, especially if you are in a high-pressure situation like a fast switch over from the previous DJ for example.
The default needs to be from the mixer, not from the microphone. There should be a button on the main screen allowing this switch to be made, rather than having to go into settings.
Please Pioneer, address this issue. I’ve had several gigs where upon reviewing the recording of my set I discovered that it was recording from the microphone instead - meaning that the set is lost forever.

Works great
Using to record sets via DJM A9 - it works really well, no issues. Just make sure you use a good USB C cable as I noticed on cheap 3rd party cables some static interference. Uploading to Dropbox and a dead easy, it would be amazing if tracklist data could be saved automatically to the app based on what the CDJs were playing.

Biggest disappointment
Well, where do I start with this app.
It has one job and that is to record a live set, and it cannot do that under any circumstances in any conditions whatsoever.
After using this app multiple times over a few weeks I realized I was absolutely wasting my time and it was either take myself for a long walk to the deep Forest and sit there and submerge myself in nature, or remove the app from my phone and get on with my life so I’ve done the latter.
Hope everyone reads this review and I hope someone that controls the app reads this review and actually does something about this completely useless and terribly underwhelming app.

Worked flawlessly until this week
I use this app as the interface between my Evermix box and my phone. It has worked perfectly for at least a couple of years, but now as soon as the app is not at the front on my iPhone the audio connection is lost. Example being when I open Facebook to do a Live stream it no longer gets the audio when it’s in the background. It has always worked perfectly until now.

Waste of time!
Tried using this app just now as a free trial and seemed great, recorded a 30 minute mix which displayed as recording throughout, then I hit stop... only 9 minutes actually is saved to my iPhone. I thought maybe it was due to my phone receiving alerts so put onto aeroplane mode, tried again, 30 minute mix and only 7 mins is actually saved.
Honestly the most frustrating thing ever to work for an hour, everything seemingly recording fine then actually it’s only left me with 16 minutes of my work!

i have spent a total of around 6 hours trying to record a 30 minute set on this app. no matter what, the recording cuts off. i’ve changed leads, i’ve used the newest decks and software, i’ve paid for extended use of the app, but still it keeps cutting off my recording.

Disconnects
I have used this app previously and it’s been fine but recently it has been recording for around 4 minutes and then stops recording. I then saw there was a new firmware update for my mixer which I installed… this time round the mix managed to record for about 20 mins then stopped recording after that.
It’s really handy being able to record via iPhone - when it works :( hope the problem is resolved soon.

Absolute rubbish
Trying to use this with an iPhone 12 Pro and pioneer v10. Firmware on both up to date.
The playback is full of crackles and the pitch is also sped up on all tracks.
I’ve tried different quality record settings but no joy.

Facebook live not working!
I have had this app for quite some time now. I use the DJM750 mk2 and the iPhone 11 Pro - This app does not work on Facebook. Once connected and streaming video live it will only play sound from one deck - not the other?? Basically as you mix each track you hear deck 1 fading out and deck 2, there is no sound. Start mixing back in on deck 1 and you hear deck 1 come back in again?
It only emits sound from deck 1 and all through the mix you can never hear deck 2??
It needs sorting!

This app is great... when it works
I am using a CDJ2000NXS2 setup with a DJM900NXS2 when using this app. Despite all the bad reviews usually the app works fine. There are a few issues:
• Connection problems: The app can disconnect from the mixer at any time and it doesn’t reconnect after that.
• Only recording 1 channel. For some reason the audio sometimes is only recorded from one input source
• crashing. Over time the crashes have been less common but the apps user interface isn’t that great and it feels very hit and miss with some of the bugs and crashing that happen
Despite this the app is still good. I do think £10 is a bit high with the lack of support and updates. Realistically for £10 I expect the app to have constant developments.

Brilliant. But...
This app is brilliant!
Primarily for me I use it to record my sets on my iPhone.
Playback is simple to use
There has been 1 reoccurring problem which is a major pain.
You record a 2 hour set.
Play it back and unbelievably it’s playing 6 BPM slower than recorded.
I’ve contacting pioneer about this problem, they replied and I replied back and I have heard nothing since so I would recommend this app but only if they sort this problem.
I tend to do a 10 second trial recording on every mix now to see if playback is at correct speed. If it is I carry on recording if playback is slow I simply turn my phone on and off and this seems to remedy the problem. But again not ideal every time you want to record.

This app was great when it was first launched. Now its full of crashes, audio issues and more. It disconnects halfway through recording your mix. Its so bad.
My most recent mix is somehow at half speed? How does that even happen?
Buy an evermix box or record straight to laptop, such a bad app thats wasted me so much money through having to rebook studio tune to record my mixes.

Won’t connect to a live stream
I’ve had this app for years and had no problems until the Rec issue which is now resolved . I now have another problem which has totally confused me I can connect my phone to my djm450 mixer and record the sound quality is studio perfect . The problem being if I choose to do a live stream via the DJM-REC app whilst it’s connected to my mixer it only records through the phones mic meaning the audio is terrible , why ? It records fine normally but soon as I switch to live feed its not connecting and only recording via the phones mic ? Totally confused

Crashing crashing crashing
When I started using this app it was absolutely amazing but in the last couple of weeks it’s just been bug after bug. The mixes have been cancelled out when recording. And most recently the app opens and then as soon as I press an option it crashes and takes me to my phones Home Screen. Such a shame as it had massive potential, money not well spent whatsoever!!

Being a DJ for over 30 years and trying a lot different ways to record live sets or just even recording samples has been challenging at times to say the least but the technology now days is so much more at your fingertips is amazing so simple and straight forward plug & play and the quality of this app in regards sound quality is brilliant,
Being able to upload to other apps is good but I think having the DJM app connected to an instant upload cloud for producing needs would be an even better tool to have, so play, mix, produce, view on other devices instantly is the next level to go for me, Great work Pioneer people awesome work keeping the wheels turning 💯%♥️🎵🎶🎵🎶

I can’t believe Pioneer are selling an app that doesn’t work. When trying to record direct from DJM usually cuts out in under 2 minutes or uses microphone instead so very frustrating and time wasting. The ‘live’ function for Facebook etc only works with microphone. I’ve payed for this app and I expect it to work. Will change my review once I receive support. Thanks.

Awesome app
Pioneer fixed the issues with the last iOS update and since then I haven’t had any other issues. It’s a straight forward app to use and the option to upload your mix straight to Mixcloud is a great extra. Gone are the days of making a cd. Uploading that onto your laptop or Mac and then uploading it from there onto Mixcloud. This app is by far 1 of the most used apps on my phone. Keep up the great work pioneer 👊

Better
Much more stable after updating OS to 13.5.1.
Had experienced recording dropouts and activation issues with previous OS but they seem to have been resolved.
Great for on the fly recording.

Pleas bring back the Periscope stream option
This has a lot of potential but they remove Periscope as a live stream option, maybe as it was very defective and kept cutting out
Please fix it and bring back Periscope as a live stream option
I only bought the very expensive mixer to live stream to Periscope in the first place!

Since the update I have been unable to record a mix due to the app cutting the recording after 2 mins even though I paid the tenner for the full version
I use a DJM 750mk2 to plug in to my phone
Just wondering if there is a fix on the way

Stops recording during mix
When will the bug on this app be fixed!? I can’t record a full mix without it ending the recording half way through. So frustrating and takes all the fun out of planning and recording a mix. Could be very useful, but not worth the tenner in its current form.

What happened
I loved this app was so easy to record sets but after updating a few months ago I'm now an having issue for it reading my input? Wont give me an option to change also. Could you please fix as I wish to continue using this program

What’s happened
It doesn’t work stops recording ,,,.with iPad ...so I have no computer so how can I update can I update via iPad ...this is not good
