Freezes my phone, throws me out and then freezes my phone even more. I downloaded to play with my son. I’ve had to delete a lot of things for it to be downloaded in the first place. So annoyed and very unhappy I’ve had to fully delete it. Absolute joke!!!!

Do not pay money for it as it’s a rip off!
This game on the outside seems like a fun mobile version of the popular franchise BUT many instances of playing has illuminated what a crass rip off this game is- thankfully you don’t have to spend money on it although it actively encourages DONT. Here’s why…
- makes iPhones crash when playing in horizontal mode. Screen freezes but game continues to play. On a few occasions I have ended up first place once the app and phone sort themselves out! The game gives the illusion of playing but you aren’t!
- In frenzy mode in first place I often get hit with shells and it makes me crash. I have played through and basically the game decides who wins. If it wants you fifth place you have to really get lucky to get any higher.
- The game includes a ranked league where you play against other players on courses and it’s highest score wins. Why introduce any element of competitive play if the game is inherently bent on cheating you out of positions in races.
-I have complained to developers repeatedly regarding the crashes and the “oddities” in game and they never gave a straight response. Deliberately misunderstood what I was saying.
If you do the subscription then you are handing over money per month for a game that is not a game of skill it is a game of luck.
Buyer be warned!!

Sluggish slow down recently?!
Played since launch on my iphone 8+. A few weeks ago i noticed sluggish slow down. Assumed it was my phone.

Good but flawed
I've been playing this game in and off since launch. It's fantastic fun and one of the best games on iPhone, the buttons and text are big enough to read, the gameplay asstpundingly good. All the badges and rewards can get a little confusing though. But they lock features behind a £5 a month subscription, like multilayer and 200cc mode, this IMO is unforgivable. This is on top of the items in the store asking you to spend real money which if you want is still required as the monthly fee won't cover them. Shame for such an otherwise great game.

I used to play this game consecutively for 2 years and have obtained numerous high end drivers, karts and gliders. There is no even unlock structure!! Very odd!!
I'm currently working through the game with my partner on her phone but I don't understand the unlock structure it's completely random!! My friend has an unlock ladder with x8 10 item tubes and I have x1 10 item tube, I've been grinding away at races and she has just started playing and has unlocked double what I have?? Can anyone shed any light on this? I can't see the point if it's not an even playing field!! Mine constantly gives me nothing and I ants me to buy a pass!!

A good experience overall.
The selection of courses are well organised, though I would like to see a separate mode where all the courses released in Tour were playable without the weekly tours. Edit: As for earning experience points, sometimes, it doesn’t award you the points. Edit 2: I‘ve just found that when a multiplayer battle starts, it freezes, please FIX THIS. Edit 3: Continuing from edit 2, it does apply to just multiplayer battle, it also applies to races as well, I had to change it to 2 stars due to the issue.
Edit 4: On Athens Dash 3T, WHY CAN‘T YOU GO OFF THE SIDES OF THE RAMP NEAR THE END, THIS INFURIATES ME!!!

Why the constant lagging
This game is great until you try to play multiplayer. Constant error messages when you are about to complete a course and so you lose the game AND experience points. Nintendo clearly don’t care as this has been going on for ages. I have reported twice and no response. Can’t blame my wife as it’s fibre optic and works perfectly for everything else. SORT IT OUT

This game stole my kidneys
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Skill or Luck?
We all know that Mario Kart is one of the most addictive and fun games on the market due to it’s instant access, and MK Tour is no exception… however.
There is a heavier lean towards assisting those near the back of the pack when racing in this iteration. Whilst in every version of the game those trailing have always got the preferential treatment when it comes to what they get from the item boxes, the number of times I have been passed on the final stretch by those using the bullet item takes the fun out of the game. To battle hard with other races only to be passed at the last because they got a reward for being at the back… yeah, that can be annoying, but it’s still an excellent game nonetheless.
With such a heavy tilt in the reward system and less focus of the skill element, MKT can be a frustrating experience, but it’s also Mario Kart, and that is rarely less than a fun time.

Fun and you don’t need to pay to win
I’m sure you’ll see lots of reviews on how the micro transactions are 1. Overpriced or 2. Unnecessary but the thing is, you don’t need to buy them in the first place! I’ve been playing for a few days now and I haven’t spent anything and I have mostly got 5 stars on all cups out right now. Sure pipes can be expensive in game currency wise but you are guaranteed a pipe each day from playing the new cup on the daily quest type system. The free pass is also good for tickets for upgrading karts, drivers and gliders as well as pipes and other stuff. Overall the tracks are good, huge cast of drivers, lots of karts and gliders and it’s outstanding for a mobile game. The only issue is the drifting and turning can be clunky at times but then again, this is a mobile game. It’s no Mario kart 8 dx or mkwii but it’s sure good for long car rides when you haven’t got your switch/ds (or a switch/ds in general)

I just don’t get the hate anymore.
The hate was at least SOMEWHAT understandable when gacha pipes were still a thing but now it’s just unnecessary. The game has the most courses,characters,items,music,karts,gliders,missions,challenges,etc out of any Mario kart game. The characters are easy to access if you just get good (and not very good just below average good) No money is required to unlock most things and if it is then it will come back in a later tour and won’t require money. Battle mode is here now and so is multiplayer, Grand Prix mode and time trials. Reverse, trick and reverse trick variants of courses now exist and some remix courses. Many past game tracks have returned and some have higher resolution than mario kart 8 deluxe’s base game tracks (eg. Rainbow road 3ds) the new courses are amazing in both the music and the tracks. My personal favourites are Singapore speedway, Vancouver velocity, ninja hideaway, merry mountain, Berlin byways, Los Angeles laps, London loop, Bangkok rush, Sydney sprint, Amsterdam drift, Tokyo blur, New York minute, sky high sundae and Paris promenade. Not all new courses have even released yet. It is very easy to get everything in a tour and the only bad part is the controls which you get used to quickly if you play for two-three tours. Also, could you please add toad’s factory? I really miss that course from Wii. Thank you in advance.

Frustrating
It’s a pay to win game, which is evident because I pay for a lot of in app purchases and I almost always win. Either way for an overview of how I find the game I’d say that the majority of the time I’m playing the game I’m having a bad time ( I feel like the game is working against me in terms of how lucky I get with item boxes and such ) and I’ve started to see playing the game as some sort of chore to try and get the most out of my money. So even for me who’s ended up paying for an advantage, I still don’t actually have fun and it often puts me in a bad mood because of some certain game mechanics that feel like they work against me when I’m in a good position. One thing I can say is that there are no ads, but the in app purchases are ridiculously expensive ( as if it were an EA game ) and if I could go back before investing as many hours as I have in this game I would just delete it, hence I am stuck in a trap of my own making.

Hate love relationship
As much as I love this game and play every day, even have a gold subscription, it pains me that the multiplayer in this game is shocking. I can't enjoy it at all. The main issue is when you hit someone with an item, they don't seem to get affected and if anything seem to boost and get away from you even more, it is so frustrating. This happens every game since it was released, you actually feel like you are being cheated!! This justifies a 2 star drop, don't release something that's broken and not fix it!! Another issue I have with the game is that I have got characters, karts and gliders to the max level only for a release to come out to raise the max level even more! I think this is unfair, and more a money making scheme as I have had a few duplicates that I get quite less coins for. Overall game is very enjoyable, but not multiplayer, I'm giving up on it and I'm S+3, and stop raising the max level of characters, karts and gliders in order to profit more from selling rubies etc.

Good game but terrible value for money
I’ve had this game about a year now and always loved Mario karts but this has turned me against Nintendo I pay £5 a month for the gold pass which is £60 a year but the benefits are only slight the last 3 tours I’ve pulled over 30 times on the pipe and only got two high end characters and unless you pay £40 for a character you just won’t get them
100 items in each pipe is too many it would take 450 rubies to empty that pipe and bear in mind 135 rubies is nearly £50 to buy in game you do the maths it’s a shame because although I love racing I’m getting sick of paying but having no way of accessing some characters karts or gliders no matter how hard or long you play
Some people must of spent fortunes on this game and Nintendo are making plenty of money out of it it’s their second highest grossing game but for me I’m done I think it’s just so frustrating that it has to be all about money rather than fans of the game who don’t mind paying £5 a month but refuse to pay hundreds just to access parts of the game that are inaccessible otherwise

Dipping in to new waters
I think after most Nintendo games on mobile flopped (Yes I’m looking at you Super Mario Run) I didn’t have very high hopes for this game, especially after it was delayed.
When it was released, this game was missing a lot of key features (which I unfortunately expected), such as a lack of a Multiplayer mode. However the game has gone above and beyond to fix these issues to make this Nintendo’s first successful mobile game.
The one thing stopping this game from becoming 5-stars is the micro-transactions. You know it’s bad when there is a Twitter page devoted to bringing up things cheaper than the games more pricey items.
I think that 2 things make this system bad.
1. THE GAME ACTUALLY GIVES YOU A BOOST
This is the number 1 no-no for micro-transactions. Don’t give the player an in game boost because then it will be unfair for the people playing free-to-play and make them give up. This also may pressurise them into buying these packs to get better stuff which in my opinion is EXTREMELY unfair.
2. THERE IS NO WAY TO GET GUARANTEED GOOD STUFF.
All of the packs are based on luck. There is no 100% in this game. This means that the player can spend thousands of pounds just to get nothing. It’s a disgrace.
However, this game is still MarioKart. It is obviously a good game and I completely recommend giving this game a try as when you get used to the controls, it is a great alternative to the amazing fun of MarioKart 8 Deluxe.

this game is life changing. the nintendo team put their entire nintendussy into this game this is the soul reason i’m alive at this second my heart belongs to mario kart tour. my friends mock me, tease me for the amount of time i spend on this seemingly unassuming game but i wouldn’t change it in a heartbeat i am unapologetically me it’s just me myself and mario kart. there’s so many drivers to obtain, so many challenges to defeat and don’t even get me started on the constant new tours that are jam packed with thrill and leave me playing until the dead of night and my thumbs hurt. by downloading this game you are committing to a life of true sportsmanship. you will produce blood sweat and tears from just trying to get enough rubies for a new pipe launch but you will NOT REGRET IT. this game is the best thing that’s ever happened to me

Absolutely Amazing, however offers are WAY too expensive
This game I played I since mid 2020 and it’s been an absolute blast! The constant updates always keep me playing for hours in end, trying to beat my scores, unlock new items, and more! This game would’ve been perfect is it wasn’t for 1 problem... the special offers are way too expensive. There are literally Ruby only purchases and it costs £70 to buy 135 of them which is the equivalent of 30 pulls which probably won’t get you anything good... you’re better off just buying the special offers but even then you’re getting 2-3 high ends for £53 plus 135 rubies so you’re getting more for spending less money but the offers are ridiculously pricey... I’m not going to pay £18 just for a random high end and a 10-pull. You’re better off just buying the gold pass, which is only £4.99. If you only want to buy it once, buy it on the last day of a tour. Then you’ll be able to get all the gifts before the tour ends, play for 2 full tours and the first few days for another tour meaning you’re getting the benefits worth 4 tours. So yeah this game is really fun but the prices are really extreme... you make enough to money already, you don’t need more.

This is without a doubt the best game i’ve ever downloaded from the app store. It’s totally free, and there are zero annoying adverts. the fact that a new tour begins every 2 weeks with all new races goes to show much hard work must go into this game. there’s a huge variety of characters, karts and gliders and new ones are added frequently. you can race friends and people around you in multiplayer which is extremely fun. i was never a person to enjoy iphone games really, would use them for a few weeks and get bored, but i have been a daily player of this game for 7 months now and never felt bored. i’d like to say a huge thank you to the developers of this game because the attention to detail just makes the playing experience so fun. download it; you won’t regret it.

Good game, but flawed.
The idea of the game is great. Slow if you don’t buy into the expensive monthly subscription, though the main issue for me is the multiplayer.
The multiplayer games are almost unplayable due to the fact that the other players [computers?] don’t seem to suffer any down time when hit with an object. Throw a banana at them and they spin, but then speed off. I get hit with a banana and I spin and throw my arms up for 3 seconds and end up at the back. This is the same for any object, other players appear to speed off for no reason, sometimes it’s utter chaos and I get hit all the time, but others seems to unaffected. You can quickly go from 1st place to last without any real reason. This is harassment in my book. Sort it out and make it fair.
Additionally, I receive connection errors probably 50% of the time. I’m in a race then suddenly an error occurs and I’m back to the lobby. Surprise surprise I have also lost the coins collected whilst waiting for games to start…Nintendo, you are better then this!

Has definitely improved
I just wanna start to say that mario kart tour is one of my favourite games I have every played. At launch I did see loads of problems which over time did eventually get fixed! A few examples are the addition of multiplayer, making the game more free to play friendly, the controls (not perfect but good enough) and the addition of new tracks or old retro ones. The only major problem(that I don’t like the most) this game has is that in the second week of Mario kart tour there isn’t much to do besides ranked and all cup ranking but it still is kinda understandable why they make us wait slightly longer. My suggestions for the game is to make kart pro a permanent thing so players have a reason to play multiplayer. Do more retweet campaigns (maybe every other tour?) increase the tier limit, improve daily rewards (3 rubies everyday or at the end of the daily rewards you get a set of super tickets) and MAKE HIGH END TICKES EASIER TO GET!!!!!Other than that this game is almost perfect with only a few minor problems :)

Firstly, PATHETIC excuse of a game. How this piece of trash has any reviews over 2 stars is BEYOND ME. This is a pay to win game and a very bad one at that. You can tell who has paid money in multiplayer because they have items that allow them to win EVERY TIME. These people have a massive advantage because they are somehow faster, don’t get effected by ANY of your attacks whereas you will literally stop for a solid 3-5 seconds and come last place and they get power ups that are actually useful? Can’t count how many times I’ve gone from 1st place to last place in the blink of an eye because opponents are seemingly immune to everything and then I get stuck with crappy little mushrooms instead of a bullet, meanwhile some person will be in 5th place and end up 1st because they get given a bullet. The controls DO NOT WORK and your pathetic way of levelling up your rank is primitive. You get % taken off if you quit the game but the game stops and blames your “bad wifi connection” with a “communication error” and then you’re stuck going in circles because it broke. Customer service is a JOKE they blame the customer instead of working on the issues they have with their game. Do not play this, do not download this, I’d sooner become a F1 driver than pay to succeed in this game.

I love it but two problems...
Mario kart is an amazing game but as a another reviewer said it is really expensive for multiplayer and doesn’t everyone want multiplayer? Also it keeps wanting me to update it which is really annoying. But I really recommend to any Mario fan as it is an amazing game. I have had this game for years and it was amazing when I first got it but it’s just got worse sadly. Anyway if you fix these it will get a full five stars from me and sorry I have such long sentences because I hate full stops. But I recommend from age six plus to anyone ‘cause I don’t think there are anyone who like Mario under that age but I might be wrong? Who knows. Honestly amazing but one problem
This game is great for any Mario fan. I can imagine so many other mobile apps out there which have pretty much half of the content available from the main console or PC version. But this app changes it all. First off, Mario Kart is completely free, meaning that you don’t need to pay to play the game which is something everyone loves! There are also a vast variety of different cups to choose from, allowing hours of fun gameplay. The fact that Nintendo managed to fully incorporate the same character, glider and kart customisation is one of the most brilliant aspects of this app. So already a massive well done for all that! One new thing that has been introduced in this game that wasn’t actually in the previous console version is prize pods. Note that these are completely dependent on luck, so don’t expect anything too great, however, you can unlock all sorts of rewards from these-whether it be characters, gliders, or even karts! There also in app purchases which I would say are slightly over priced, but I don’t want to go into this since it isn’t that much big of a deal. The last point I want to mention is that you need to link a Nintendo account to play the game, and you need to pay £5 a month for multiplayer. This is obviously annoying since everyone would want to be able to play multiplayer without paying but this is the only flaw. Otherwise I highly recommend you download this game!

It’s a realy fun gamę and It’s not £40 pounds like on switch It’s Just that the challenge pickup a dropped mushroom for speed is IMPOSSIBLE No one has monty mole and id you manage to find one of the peaches They NEVER use the mushroom cannon but apart from that It’s a Good gamę apart from multiplayer that is trash. I think you can mąkę the gamę better by having a event shop every tour so instead of trying to get insanely lucky with the spotlights you can collect enough money to get lets say nabbit because It’s the Spotlight right now and also i like turtles and hamatetssters and also during the cups i Dont think you should go down a level when you get beaten by some one it takes along time to level up and then snap you go down one level without teliing you i think it should notificate you if some one beats you. Good but glitches in multiplayer are really annoying
Overall the game is great. I love how the karts handle with a touchscreen, and firing off items takes a bit of practice but isn’t too tricky once you’ve had a few goes. The ranking system basically allows people who have paid money for special items to get a lot more points than just using the free items (drivers, karts and gliders). So, any progress you make through the ranks really has to be earned if you just want to go with the free stuff. The multiplayer is more difficult than the Grand Prix races, as whenever you get hit, you stay hit, but someone in front of you can have their backside smashed by a shell and they miraculously morph out at exactly the same gap between you going full speed. This makes it really difficult to get through the multiplayer ranks, which is so off putting I don’t really bother with it.

Amazing but...
Ever since the game came out, I’ve loved it. I like how the game developed to have more and more features like multiplayer and landscape mode but there’s something that I think can be added on to make landscape mode more versatile.
Because people have gotten used to the portrait orientation of the gameplay, I think that most people are also used to the drift button being in the middle of the screen, but in landscape mode, the drift button is on the left side. I think it’d improve landscape mode if as well as steering on the left, players should be able to steer on the right side of the screen with the drift button also on the right side, or the players can choose where the drift button goes on the screen to suit their gameplay.
This is just my opinion though and I really appreciate the work that Nintendo puts into this game.

You have to pay
I was originally going to give this 5 stars because it really is a good game, however it’s only good if you pay for it. A lot of things in the game such as the “gold pass” are pretty much an essential thing if you want to keep playing the game. But it costs money, £5 every month. Without using the gold pass you miss out getting rubies, karts, gliders and more- which are kinda essential to the game. Without it, it makes it hard to play. They are constantly bringing out new different looking karts, characters, gliders making it practically impossible to get all of them because of how many there are. It’s difficult to keep up! I just wish they made it a bit easier to get the stuff, because even when you use rubies to fire the pipe- it uses up a large amount of rubies and you mostly end up winning the basic items- which then feels like a waste of rubies. Overall it is a good game, and becomes addictive but just wish they made it easier and had the gold pass for free, because I have been thinking of deleting the game because I can’t keep affording the gold pass every month, for something that is essential if you want to do well in the game.

Good game when it’s working!
As a Mario kart fan(the original on the SNES) I was excited to find out a Mario kart game was coming to IOS. While the game is great fun when it’s working, I’m constantly faced with issues when trying to load the game on my iPhone, like it’ll get to the loading screen and get stuck on 10% or some other figure, then I either have to force quit the game or wait and then I get an error message pop up saying the game has crashed and I need to clear cache/data. I’ve honestly lost count at the amount of times I’ve done this, probably every time I’ve tried to play the game I guess! And if by some miracle it works, I’ve then got to download hundreds of MB’s worth of updates, which if your internet isn’t that fast can take up to 15/20minutes to do, and you have to keep your phone screen turned on, otherwise it doesn’t download. Why not do the updates through the App Store so that the app can update even if the screen is turned off/locked, rather than updating within the app?
Get all that sorted, or at least the crashing/freezing on the loading screen, then I’d happily add another 2/3stars to my rating

What do you expect it’s Mario kart on the phone.
As with super mario run this game has lots of micro transactions to gain specific things to enhance your game but with a twist as now you can only play 5 cups a day until you have to try again tomorrow which means after 1-2 hours the game if locked for a whole day. This does make sense though as if you played all the cups there would be no cups left and to that I say have a few more cups in the event. E.g. 15 cups an event instead of 12 as this then shows that you beat the cups and then sit there for the last 2-3 days waiting for the event to end. Now I know that the micro transactions cost a lot but lots of people say it’s pay to win which for me is 50/50 as you can play the game without buying anything (like me) or pay £5 a month for a gold pass which gives you so much more e.g. double items from presents better items from presents and as far as I can tell the only way to get the purple tickets are from the gold pass so my fairy daisy probably won’t be upgraded to level two yes you read that correctly and the regular pass only lets you upgrade the silver items and to get upgrades for gold items in the regular pass is almost impossible and when you do it gives you such a small boost it’s unbelievable.
All of this aside it is Mario Kart for the phone..What did you expect

Good game, too many bugs spoil it though
I was enjoying this game and even opted to give the Gold subscription a go, but the amount of bugs has left me frustrated and contemplating cancelling my subscription.
I’ve loved playing Mario Kart on each platform since it came out on the Super Nintendo and this game with a different take on things certainly works. Plenty of tracks, drivers, karts, gliders and challenges to keep you entertained. All is good then yeah?
The game is currently littered with bugs that affect your ability to progress and improve your choice and the levels of the drivers, karts and gliders. Errors in the multiplayer hammer you on your attempts to progress through the licences by taking progress % off you. I can’t even progress my licences on the standard races as the results no longer affect my licence and the hits you take for the communication errors on Gold can take you a while just to claw back what you lost - and I am not getting any rewards for upgrading my multiplayer licence.
Then on the standard tour, I’m not getting any rewards upgrading my licence here either.
Why am I bothered? Because you need the rewards to help you compete both online and in the tour. What makes this worse? I’m paying a subscription for the game. I’ve raised trouble tickets but the replies aren’t helpful. My advice? Don’t pay for the gold whilst the bugs are effecting the reward system. I’m no longer considering cancelling mine, I am cancelling mine.

It’s a very good game and I find it very fun and exactly what I need on a boring weekend. It requires WIFI just note that before downloading this. I sent in a request a few months regarding the pipe. I hoped that Mario kart would improve the pipe by adding more characters and by making it easier to gain Star Characters. I have been checking to see whether it is easier to get these characters but it isn’t. I know many who would agree with me about this point and I am devastated to know that they are also experiencing this but delighted to know that they, like me really enjoy the racing part and the entertainment. Multiplayer games are very glitchy and never work and I find it upsetting to see that you can earn 2 gems if you have 3 friends. I find this offensive because I may not have 3 friends and anyway, the app should let you race against your friends so the whole ‘friends’ business is not what you should get the game for. Nevertheless, a great game, I highly recommend! I absolutely adore this game and most of my battery is taken up by it 😂 !!!

Did love!
When I first started playing Mario kart, didn’t much like it but came back to it and really got into and started to play it a lot. I’ve started over a few times as it’s fun to be a beginner again. Anyway since adding multiplayer my opinion is the games has lowered drastically😒 and for this reason only I have not given full marks. Firstly I understand that it’s a new part of the game and needs a bit of work done but it’s not always the easiest to win the races so to win and then through no fault of your own have the game crash etc on you (which happens quite a lot during multiplayer) it still takes off your points. Also why do I seem to be the only one in the races I’m in that I seen to receive all the rubbish items towards the ends of races?! It’s incredibly frustrating to not even be in with a chance of winning very many now that I’m on level D! And lastly why are some people hit with items and they clearly have nothing on the back of their karts yet seem to have the ability to spring quite a bit forward without even needing a seconds recovery?? Why do I feel like I drag all the way round but people seem to be bombing their way through every race? Please fix this quickly so I can get back to loving MARIO kart again🤞🏻

Kind of good but needs more
So I love this game it’s good that you get different maps and that but there is a problem whenever you use the launcher you waste your rubies for something you already have it’s pretty annoying put different items in the launcher because I had 5 rubies and it costed 5 rubies I wasted it because I got Baby Rosalina but I already have baby Rosalina and that annoys me because I wasted ALL of my rubies for something I already have. Other than that it’s a good game when I said there is other maps which is cool but sometimes you have to do a race that you have done before like say I’ve done a map two days later I need to do the race again 4 days later the same race and it just goes on so I’m saying add more races. Add more items and races and maybe create more people like when you made Pauline. It’s fun because you can play it on a Nintendo switch or if you don’t have a Nintendo switch you can download it on your phone or iPad or something like that! Also one of my challenges is to get to tier 5 I’m on tier 6 I’ve pasted tier 5 so now I get no rubies because of this glitch(Lag) so do something about that so four out of five because of the three problems I have with this game other than that THIS GAME IS AMAZING I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYBODY!🙂🙂🙂

Paid Gold for multiplayer - not working
I’ve played this game since it came out, it’s been brilliant. I was really excited to play multiplayer, but everytime I saw the button when I played, it said it was pending.
However one day I opened the game and the pending alert was gone, and instead it said to buy Gold membership in order to play multiplayer. I was really intrigued to see what it would be like playing against other people online so I bought membership.
Once it went through, I clicked on multiplayer. Oh look at that, multiplayer is undergoing maintenance at the moment, come again later. I’ll try tomorrow. Again the next day it says the same thing. And the next. And the next. It’s been nearly 2 weeks into my gold membership and I still haven’t been able to do the thing I bought gold pass for. It it had said this before I bought it I would have waited. Feel a bit cheated to be honest - hopefully someone whose thinking of buying purely for the online experience will see this and think again.

Very good but not flawless
This Mario kart game has everything! I’m glad that it brings back a lot of retro tracks(especially from Mario kart DS because that was my first Mario kart). Good graphics, a ton of characters to choose from, much more I can say but I want to keep it short. The controls ain’t so bad but they can be a little off some times. Don’t mind the in game transactional purchases but God knows I won’t spend a dime on a mobile game. Quite disappointing that multiplayer isn’t fully available yet but it’s fine. Also, there’s a certain problem with the game. The CPU players look static when driving and don’t perform any manoeuvres when turning or performing boost jumps, is this a glitch? Because it was doing this at first then it became normal again and then it came again. Nintendo please fix this. Overall, this is a good Mario kart game(especially for a mobile) and I hope to see more improvements in the future. At least this game does better than the crappy super Mario run.

Not very impressed...
I thought this was a great game originally with amazing graphics and I got addicted quick. I waited ages for an update so I can play multiplayer on my phone. When the update was released MONTHS after waiting I wasn’t able to unlock it and had to PAY for it. I am not impressed! Seriously?!? I am now bored of the game after all the waiting and I can’t even get what I waited for. I shouldn’t have to pay extra money for a future update that took ages and I shouldn’t have to pay extra money just so that my family member (who’s device was not compatible) can play the game with me. The game would get 5 stars if all areas of the game were available to everyone- not just people who pay extra for a “gold pass”. I will not be giving away my money just so that I can play multiplayer, I don’t even want the extra benefits of the gold pass I literally just wanted to play multiplayer. I will soon be deleting Mario Kart Tour if I continue only having the option to play the game if I pay.

Good game
Some of the races have a ridiculous amount of points needed to be able to get all 5 stars, these need lowering to make them do-able. Some cups take too long to become available. I want to play but have to wait ages sometimes. Do they really need 2 whole days? New challenges don’t get given enough. I completed a set and have been waiting a week for new ones. Rubies should be easier to gain, seems like there even more rare now. Spotlight items need to be a bit easier to get, it’s not fair spending so much time trying to gain enough rubies for 10 goes to only get old pointless stuff. Also HOW IS IT FAIR ONLY GOLD PASS PLAYERS GET MULTIPLAYER!!!!!!!!!???????? It should be a standard thing for EVERYONE!!! Gold pass players are not special so why give them special treatment. The amount of people that will stop playing this game due to the fact that we can’t play against real people is HUGE! I’m not idiotic enough to spend £5 a month to gain mostly a load of extra coins and tickets. The gold pass overall is stupid and extremely overpriced. I had the free trial and cancelled the renewal.

Not as good as anticipated
As a child I recall playing this game constantly on my Nintendo DS, however was astonished when I found out you can now get it on IPhones, I really enjoy playing the game however think it could be improved. The racing tracks are repetitive, and the makers of the game are changing the characters to say the racing track is their’s, to trick the players into thinking it’s a different racing track. As Allocated clearly I believe the makers of this app should provide the players with new racing tracks to make the game more interesting because I believe this will advertise the app and make it better as a whole, as I said I do believe it is a great game and is made perfectly, it just needs more...
For example the promised multiplayer which was advertised in order to make people download the game. This is called false advertisement as we’ve all been waiting for about two months, make it better because people are just going to delete the game and it’ll go out of fashion just like Flappy bird did.

Overall great game but crashes too much
I think and do believe that this game is very good I have always been a fan of Mario brothers and Mario kart and used to always play it on the Wii and toad is my favorite character always was and always will be but there is one think that really keeps getting me annoyed and or agitated the game keeps crashing when I open it and the load stays on 12 or 16 % and it's really very frustrating so please do make sure that the game stops crashing so much it makes me not want to even try opening the game because I know it will crash
But overall I love the game
It's kind of like Mario kart 8 but free and for the phone which is great and I LOVE the game but for me to continue playing it ease make it stop crashing and yes I highly suggest this game and I make my friends play it and download it

A decent game, though crashes let it down.
I pre-ordered Mariokart tour when I was told about it. I was really exited for its release...
Then the game came out. It was quite impressive, and the menus are awesome. Having to move through different cups is a brilliant idea on Nintendo’s part. Racing doesn’t feels that bad, despite the controls being a little finicky for me. One of the biggest letdowns to this game is how consistently it crashes. It seems like one in four times when I get into a race, it crashes. It is starting to get a little annoying, so that is why I have put it at 3 stars. The crashes are the biggest letdown. Also, the rareness of rubies makes it bad for players who want to unlock new characters like Halloween Rosalina out now, but that might be issues for other players. It’s just those few issues that are making me rate it more. Fix the crash issues and this would be four or five stars.

Has the potential to be a great game but greed won’t allow for that
The game is good. It’s fun to play and it doesn’t glitch also the characters and cars are fun to collect. My issue is with how expensive everything is and how hard it is to get new cars gliders and characters. I purchased 10 goes of the pipe for 45 rubies which I had saved up in hopes of getting the spotlight character (Halloween Rosalina) I was disappointed though when I only got one new collectible out of the 10 I payed for. I don’t have that many of the collectibles either. It seems the pipe just gives the same thing over and over. During the last tour it was the same. I saved up my rubies and was disappointed by what I was given by the pipe. I’d suggest saving your rubies to use in coin rush to buy characters you actually want however the downfall of this is you can’t buy the spotlights. Hopefully in the future things change and the game will become more fun rather than frustrating.

Need to do a stress test
To be truthful, I really love the game, but I think the stress factor of the mechanics, need to be reviewed. I’m perfectly capable of winning a race from last place on the second lap, but since the Tokyo Tour started, Literally everything possible has stopped me from winning. I understand that to give everyone a chance, you would greatly reduce the chances of any real boosts from boxes, but as soon as winning is within grasp, everyone else is able to take it from you. It has suddenly become impossible to keep a lead. And people shouldn’t be able to get a Bullet Bill straight to first place on the second lap 🙃 totally not fair.
You can only get 5 stars in certain races, if you purchase the top characters and karts/gliders...at least give everyone a chance.

A few minor problems
I think there should be an option so that you can turn to prepare jumps. I have two other stuff that would be nice if Nintendo added in(not adding the online thing because it’s going to be released in a future update).
The first is to make harvesting coins and rubies easier because it takes a long time for me to get a lot of coins and I’m sure other people have had the frustration of a spotlight character passing through their fingers.
The second is that the characters, karts and bikes had different favoured courses every different tour. Pauline for example has New York City as her frenzy courses but the New York tour has ended and won’t come back for a while. That means four of her courses are rendered useless because she can’t have new courses to go with the tour.
Other than that, the game is excellent which is why I am rating it 4 stars. The graphics are good and you can gat an old school pixel version if you turn on low battery mode in the actual settings in game. Would recommend to others

Worthless effort
The New York cup was great, 5 stars, now I’d give the game 2. Why? The rewards you get are so insignificant it almost feels not worth playing anymore. Log in bonuses are pointless, getting a glider token to boost your points up by about 12 is worthless. The gifts you unlock by gaining stars are worthless as well - in the first cup you’d get good characters and karts, now you get maybe 100 coins, again pretty worthless especially for completing all the cups. It’s also impossible to level up drivers above level 3. The limit on coins and points you get is frustrating as well as it feels like you never can make much progress each day and how are you meant to buy the best items in the shop if the daily coin limit is so low? (apart from paying real money for them!)... Finally the challenges you complete should be worth far more than they are, especially the harder ones. For example, 100 race wins for only 3 rubies? Seriously?? The amount of effort you have to put into this game to get the tiniest reward out of it does not feel worth it at all.

The best game ever
I think it’s wonderful, no glitching. Although I think the golden pass should be removed/made cheaper. Also in the shop it’s 3 rubies for £1.99 when you can just get that for completing a challenge! I like launching although I think that every Monday there should be a discount that it’s 10 launches for 10 rubies and 1 launch for 3. There should be challenges that are fairly hard and then the reward can be characters/karts/gliders. Ok so I know all the bargaining is weird. Bowser is my personal favourite. A good idea is that there should be one update sometime that in item boxes you can find an invisibility power that lasts 25 seconds. I love frenzy and I think it’s awesome! I think that there should be a MARIO kart as well. MARIO kart world tour is great and equally amazing To mario kart. Currently it’s Tokyo world tour. I love the spotlights. But I think the races should be a bit more Tokyo related. I was very happy when I saw this was realised. I think that this is in a way easier than mario kart, it’s usually three laps but here it’s 2. I love how easy it is! It’s very fun! It’s just as good without all my suggestions!

Started of great until updates
Started of really good and entertaining, and as a free game I was enjoying it as I have accessibility to all races. Micro transactions aren’t much of an issue as races and challenges help you earn. That was until the recent update, in which all previous ranking was removed as well as old races in which I had been trying to complete to the highest score- even saving coins for characters to help me win. The update has introduced new characters, most characters cannot be used to get high scores unless for one of 20+ races that Nintendo decides they are applicable for. With the new update I find that I am easily bumped out of the way by other players regardless of the momentum I have or the boxes I have. I believe there are other issues with this new update that are trying to force you into buying new characters, cars and gliders with real money, so me and my friends have stopped playing. Hopefully with the next update there will be less characters so you can actually stand a chance of reaching a frenzy character but until then I won’t be playing.

Not f2p friendly
Now that the two week trial for the gold pass is up, for players who did it day 1 like myself, I think the player base will drop unless some changes are made. Micro transactions aren’t going away so my gripe isn’t really that, it’s the fact that the game isn’t very f2p friendly. Limits on experience for karts, characters and gliders are very low and the daily limit for coins is pathetically low. For this game to be f2p friendly, there needs to be higher limits otherwise the game becomes pretty boring aside for the 30 mins you can get exp and coins for. I’ve played this game hard for two weeks and despite getting the gold pass rewards, there are still a couple of coursesin the last cups that cannot be 5 starred. Going forward this will be extremely common for f2p simply due to lack of resources. Unless some big changes are incoming, I’ll be deleting the app within the next few days. I’ll see what the new tour looks like but remaining competitive is going to be too much hard work.

Good, but has some issues
To begin with, the game is great fun. Usual Mario kart stuff. Frenzied races etc. As you go up the CC’s from 50cc to 150cc, the difficulty increases as you’d expect. But in some cases at 150cc especially, the other racers can seem really overpowered in terms of their attack. You can easily get pummelled from 1st into 8th at times.
The biggest issue for me however is the micro transactions. I see some people saying that it’s handled well, but I disagree. Micro transactions are never handled well. That’s the point in them. The core of the game is amassing as many points as possible to unlock stars, which in turn unlocks more races. As you progress through the game though, it’s designed in such a way that points, and thus stars, become a lot harder to obtain. This funnels you towards the micro transactions paywall. Accumulating any of the required items, such as coins and gems, becomes more difficult and sparse. So purchasing the required racers and karts to get the bonuses needed to obtain the points needed becomes nigh on impossible. So the game ends up not really progressing much further. They also added a pay monthly option on top of the micro transactions, in order to unlock 200cc, to help you obtain those points you valuably need.
All in all, the game starts of fun. But unfortunately Nintendo has taken a great franchise and went the predatory route with it.

Very very good
As a Mario kart fan for a LONG time I can say I really really appreciate this game. The controls are similar to the console Mario kart games and I’m very happy that the variety of steering options have been passed over, especially tilt steer. The gatcha mechanic to get the characters is fine, as the prices (in gems) are reasonable and you don’t need many characters to succeed at or enjoy the game, it’s very enjoyable with even just the first two free pipe fires. The missing star is partly for the variety of the tracks, or lack thereof. At first I was impressed that there were many different tracks, however at the point I’ve got to now many of them are being repeated or played in reverse. The other annoying thing about this game is that on iPhone X (or other devices without a home button) the home swipe bar at the bottom can be easily accidentally swiped. Some games have a feature where the bar is ‘locked’ so you can only escape the app once you tap and then swipe in bar a second time. I think that would be really helpful in this game.

Improvements
I really liked the thought of mario kart coming out, I was really excited but I don’t like how I can’t play with my phone sideways (how I usually would with a wii remote) and there is a serious lag in the game, I can’t go one racing game without lagging, it causes me to bump into the side of the road or fall off courses and I just don’t like it at all, I don’t know why it is lagging, I have a pretty fast phone.
Also I just realised Luigi isn’t an actual in game character but he’s on the loading page, which is a shame because I think a Luigi and baby Luigi could be fun as well as a Rosaline and baby Rosaline! Also maybe more characters, I would love to play as Wuligi with his legs sticking out of the kart because he’s so tall, or even a ghost, you guys generally need to add more characters, it’s not right them not being there.
Another thing, when will online mode become available? I would love to race other racers.

So ok. Cool game. Love it. I don’t know why everyone’s complaining about controls- when you play long enough you get used to it pretty quickly. And you can go to the settings to set your controls to how you want. I’m happy with the controls. I’m just shocked that Luigi isn’t here! And Rosalina!!! I hope the other great characters are introduced- like King Boo, Luigi and Rosalina. I have a friend who I want to play with us but it keeps crashing for her. I have the same phone as her and it works for me so please fix this issue!! Overall, it’s a great game and did not disappoint me much.
Ps, maybe try make it a little more like on the actual Wii because I really wanted battle, teams, etc. I understand this isn’t meant to be the Wii game but more people would prefer it if you included those features ☻

Amazing
Great game, controls handled well. Alot of reviews were critisizing the in app purchases but its all a matter of opinion. Its not pay to win so i dont feel the need to buy anything but that is up to the person playing. Alot of reviews also saying the controls were off and hard to do but if you fond the right one for you or take 10/20 mins to practice and get it right then there is no problem. A couple problems with the game at the start - crashed a few times, wouldnt start without restarting the app a number of times but that was on the first day of realease so its expectef to have a few bugs. But hasnt crashed since. Overall a really good game with a twist for mobile mario not just a complete copy of the first without thinking how to adapt it to work with devices. Great game. Cant wait for new features added. (Although maybe they should increase the daily coin limit as 300 is a bit low in my opinion).

Personal honest thoughts
So last year this game was announced and I must say I was pretty hyped. Anyway I’m only writing this review since people are very concerned about the micro-transactions (which is very understandable) since it’s a FREE TO PLAY game. However I must say Nintendo have handled this very well. Micro-transactions are displayed in the form of a pipe. You shoot things (Driver, Items, Karts) from said pipe to unlock them and as a way to push you towards paying, certain drivers can hold 1(the worst) - 3(the best) items per track. Karts also give you points the soul of the game. You earn points by using items, collecting coins and placing in higher positions. So these point and item boosts are very helpful, but it is entirely possible to get a decent amount of points even if your best characters for that track are mid tier at best. And as for the gameplay bit iffy at first but totally fine, not counting the drift issues and cpus in the cups without telling you. Final verdict, one of the best mobile games I’ve played, Nintendo’s new money maker and it’s better than super circuit.

Honest review/thoughts
Alright, I knew the maintenance was going to stop at 9am as I was checking online and have been waiting since last year. The problem I was most worried about was how will this game make money..
I originally heard it was going to be an energy system through beta testers and it’s not.
You can only go so far every few days until the next map, which is the same for everyone for once!
Still, as well, you can play till to your hearts content improving your score and on some maps competing your score with other players so I think Nintendo have hit the nail on the head here.
Graphics are amazing, controls are a bit difficult at first but become easier with practice.
Drifting seems problematic at the moment, for me personally, as drifting one way and going for a quick drift the other way you have to take your finger off repeatedly each time instead of a smooth transition like the normal mode.
Lots of different game styles and soon a multiplayer?! That will be a game changer.
I will admit I think the £5 a month (just for a faster speed and a few extra rewards) seems a little steep considering it’s the same cost as Apple Arcade, but I can imagine I’ll buy it on and off still as this game is fun and fair.
Honestly, by the looks of what I’ve seen and played this game is actually going to be better than I expected which is rare for a mobile game. Congrats to Nintendo for innovation instead of relying on a tried and tested pay to win formula.

Controls make a game, or break it.
I have been awaiting this game for some time, however I don’t care about the games maintenance, because in general a game needs it. However the controls are what makes a game function, and are a massive draw. However this game functions by, you can drift, or you can not. And it’s terrible. The fact that you can’t turn without drifting, ruins the game outright. The game would be amazing if the controls were half reasonable. In any Mario kart game, it’s essential that you can make short turns without drifting to pick up items, prepare for jumps, and this game doesn’t allow it. I hope the developers read this and rework the controls, as it’s a massive downside to this game which I believe could be fixed with minimal problems. Maybe a hold option? Where the longer you hold the more you drift? Or certain areas to touch if you want to drift? Either way. Please fix this, it’s a long awaited game and it has everything going for it!
