Just a bit rubbish really
The content is not all that great, the quality is a bit rubbish, one documentary I half watch seemed to be Dan Snow (and I love Dan Snow!) filming on the selfie camera of his mobile, I’ve cancelled my subscription and I haven’t even finished the free trial, not worth £5.99 a month, it would probably be ok for use in schools etc, real shame as I thought it had great potential

Superb resource
This is my go to app now and hats from to Dan Snow for getting this going. It has an eclectic gathering of speakers and subjects which has been a much needed nudge for me to broaden my history knowledge which just wouldn’t have happened without it!
Keep it up guys and although I have enjoyed the broadening....really don’t mind if you want to add a bunch more Naval History 😉!!

Knowledge base ground zero
I took out my subscription on a whim, resulting in the re-awakening of a long lost thirst for knowledge that I believed had shriveled up and died long ago. Since then, as a person of advancing years, I have have found this new and legal reason to live a pleasant distraction from watching the clock of life tick away and so I commend supporting History Hit to anyone who is looking for answers to historical questions that they didn’t bother to think about when at school. Dan Snow and his gang seem to be able to bring history to life in a way that isn’t available anywhere else and I hope that they will continue to persuade others with stories to tell to populate the History Hit App.

Don’t promote something you can’t deliver
Utterly useless!! So annoying, as this is the app I’ve been waiting for. Constant issues connecting and confirming subscription. Only for it to fail. Great idea, horrifically undertaken

Great app but could do with some improvements for offline
I really like this app and the development has improved steadily since launch
I like the option to download content for offline use but find that I’m unable to open the app to view the downloaded content unless I have an active network connection. Is this by design?

Not what I expected
So I signed up looking forward to watching lots of documentaries etc; instead there is lots of audio content especially in subjects that interest me. I’m so disappointed with HistoryHit it for me has definitely not been Netflix for history. Signed up yesterday and am now trying to unsign as the month trial is not needed

Game changer
I love history and finally there is a site where I can watch and listen to a huge amount of history whenever I want. It's like netflix for history. Great old shows and interesting new material. V exciting.

Crowd funded
Big fan of the Dan snow podcasts, so I crowd funded £25, saw the app and downloaded with realising there is a re-occurring charge, only noticed on my credit card statement today. Not easy to cancel in the app. Come on Dan, sort this out.
PS didn’t get an email to say I was being charged either, ☹️

Not working, and no response from their customer services
What a shame. This app would be perfect....if it worked on my Apple TV. Only it doesn’t. More annoying is that they have not replied to (or even acknowledged) my emails (two have now been sent). This is poor customer service and I will now be cancelling my subscription.

Doesn’t work on Apple TV ... unresponsive support
Bought the app for iPad and Apple TV ...doesn’t work on Apple TV ...keeps asking for sign in, when given says credentials are incorrect ....spent a week sending messages to support for help. The support didn’t support, didn’t reply to most messages. Lost patience and ended subscription. Sad this doesn’t work, would have been good to watch but lack of support and inability of Apple TV app working properly renders it unusable.

Best for history
I’m a massive history fan and this is the site I’ve been waiting for. It’s like Netflix but is just for history. Love the original documentaries.

Amazing app that could do with a few improvements
An amazing example of how crowdfunding can bring about much needed ideas. As a history enthusiast, I’m really excited about this new channel which already features some great content. The ability to search for content using a historical timeline is fantastic and I love the array of media types available in addition to the full length documentaries: such as audio shows and shorter interviews.
On the technical side, it would be great to see an airplay feature so I can watch using my AppleTV in the living room without needing to use the small phone screen or a laptop. Downloadable content for offline viewing/listening would also be a massive plus for those of us who’d enjoy the app on the daily commute.
Great work! I’m excited to see how this develops!

Crowd funding with purpose
Having been a crowd fund start up following in from the Pod Cast, this really is great quality programming.
An easy to use, intuitive app which also delivers brilliant content which is sadly lacking from mainstream as they love a reality program.
A big fan of this and I’m not one to normally write a review, this though warrants it for the right reasons
