I wanted to use this app to find people to play with, instead i’m greeted with an unskippable paywall which forces you to buy the subscription. I think this is really silly. Usually apps say you can pay for a premium version so whilst the standard version has limited things it’s also free. I’m not going to straight up pay for something I’ve not even been allowed to test. Absolutely ridiculous. Try Noobly app instead because it’s free.

Unless you pay for the pass, you cannot get onto the app. There is no option to skip or move on from the screen to buy the pass. I try to sign up, it gathers my data then tries to force me to pay the subscription.

The app hides the fact it isn’t free by having a free download. Immediately after connecting your account they force you to buy a subscription, otherwise you can’t use the app. It’s not free. i have just downloaded this app as i am in need of friends to play Xbox with. this first bit is fine where it’s scanning my xbox account to sync it but after that i keep getting the start free trial button with no X to get off it, i’ve had a look at some of the other reviews and they all say the same unbelievable how you manage to get people to download this app just to try and steal £9.99 off them every week it’s not even a monthly or yearly subscription it’s a weekly one

I would love a developer of plink to engage with a query I have regard the terms of use specifically clause 4.1, 4.2 and understandably had changes to the app been made why hasn’t the community surrounding the app been made aware and have made it seem like this app is free to use but in reality you have decided that £9.99 a week is acceptable. We are currently struggling all around the world and a lot of us find solace in our video games and would love to reach out to other gamers and play. Now you have a app designed to bring gamers together but rather than thinking about the people. All that is cared about is the size of the note you can grab.

There are reviews from 2 years ago saying the same thing. During set up it will ask if you want to have 3 day trial. There is no way of saying no, they're hoping you do the trial, forget to cancel and now get charged 9.99 a WEEK from here on out. If you just made your app legit you'd probably have more users and more willing payers - this is some scam behaviour and I'm amazed you're still on the App Store.

Not worth £10 a WEEK
So I downloaded this app a few years back to see if I could find any decent teammates for a specific game, which I did without paying for a “boost on my profile”. So then I got the 3 day trial just to see what difference it made; nothing of significance put it that way. The only thing I noticed on the free trial is that I was getting more matches that’s about it; I can put a motto too what’s included in said subscription, jaw dropping to think I have to pay to type a bio basically… long story short just use the free version in my experience not worth the £10 a WEEK (insane) if they decide to drop the price to maybe £2-3 a week (even then I think it’s ridiculous) it will probably have more people using it. In conclusion, good idea but it’s just to line the developers pockets stick with free version!!

The app looked great from what I could see but unfortunately it is now stuck on the ‘free trial’ screen. There is no option to decline so I am unable to actually view the app to see if I would like to purchase or not. From a marketing perspective this is pretty dire. Has the potential of being a great app but the paywall block ruins its chances of even trying.
As you have probably seen by all the reviews. Users would like to skip the forced trial subscription to check out the app and just look around first to see what it is about. Apps that have had success in the pass have not forced users into accepting free trials but made it and option for them. If your app if really something you are proud of you should let it speak for itself and allow users to opt in for the paid version or even to give the trial a go.
I will come back to give this app a go once the trial page gives me the option to exit it.

You don’t get to try anything for free unless you subscribe for the 3 day trial, then £10 weekly. So in the terms and conditions It says “ you can CHOSE between the pro/regular version” however, I cannot chose because as soon as I open the app it’s telling me to purchase the “battle pass” or $9.99 or $40 a month, which first of all is crazy for this and secondly you can’t continue with the app if you don’t buy this silly subscription as there’s no way to skip the “pro” version as not every one has money to spend on this app. So I don’t know how your making money as from the other reviews I’ve read everyone has the same issue so this app is disappointing. Don’t ignore the reviews
Been looking for more people to play with so thought I’d download the app. Saw more and more people say that there is an instant £9.99 paywall a week that you literally cannot close without trying the free 3 day trial. I dont want to try your trial and if the app thrives off people subscribing and then forgetting to unsubscribe because you force them onto an unskippable paywall I don’t want to use your app at all. The developer responses are ridiculous too, we know what “benefits” the subscription has, we know you want us to try it but we don’t want to. Terrible developers
Edit: Developer responded to my review, they say “we provide you with an opportunity to try the subscription for free”. If the devs actually read my review instead of automatically replying to every review that mentions the UNSKIPPABLE PAYWALL with a bot that says the same thing to everyone, they would know the issue isn’t having a trial, the issue is refusing to allow you to use the app at all without using the trial and then paying for it. All that response did was make me want to use the app even less than I already do

I only downloaded it to get friends to play games with, the main game I play is Minecraft Java, you have bedrock but not java? And immediately going onto the app, it has a 3 day free trial, no exit button! I don’t want it! And then someone messaged me? But I don’t know who that are, I didn’t swipe them? How is this meant to work? It forced me to pick a game when I logged in, which I couldn’t find the or o wanted so had to put down roblox, I play it yes but not much and I don’t want to play it very often, with the “speak” thing, it has headset, call and something else, what about discord? Is that no long a thing? The layout was confusing too. When I tried to delete my account it wouldn’t let me, it took many clicks to do it, it said “how about pay £2 instead of £16” where is it getting £16 from?! I don’t want to pay I want to delete my account!

Awful app, run by awful people.
I downloaded the app recently and made a profile; in concept, it's a great idea. Pretty much Bumble, but for finding gaming friends.
Reality is different; not only does the app force you into a premium subscription whenever you open it, the subscription to /use the app at all/ is £9.99. Per week.
£40-50 per month. Annually? £520.
I contacted customer support thinking it was a bug that I couldn't exit out of it, and the response I got was "You need to pay to use the app😐" in a demeaning, sarcastic response.
So i was like fine, i'll enter the /3 day/ free trial, i'll see if its worth even a week.
The feed & algorithm heavily favours women's posts, most often /selfies/ (Why??), or people posting sexually provocative posts to promote their twitch/onlyfans/et cetera. The matchmaking to find people isn't region based for games where it should be, and it's a nightmare, even though it's a £9.99 per WEEK app.
Save yourself the time & effort, the company running it has an awful business model and an even worse product. I'd rate it negative stars if I could.

downloaded and opened app. connected steam account and instantly hit with a battlepass subscription page with no exit button. says try “3 days for free and then pay £9.99 a week”. first of all, “a week”?! not even monthly?? click the button for the free trial and get charged instantly. don’t even get to leave the subscription page as well. insists i pay another £9.99 even though i can see i have a valid subscription in my settings.
like any normal person i would want a refund, but there isn’t even a designated page for customer support. so i had to email them and now i have to wait 24 hours for a response.

There is no option to leave the subscription page without forcing the app to close. No features at all for free and at £10 a week just to login it’s a hard pass from me. Scam. No option to delete your profile either as you can’t get off the subscription page, really poor. Sadly the auto response to everyone’s reviews claim it’s different to other apps and offers you a free 3 day trial. This is not the case it’s the same as every other app of this ilk, money grabbing and pointless. Wish apple/Google would filter out these cons but sadly that’s the age we live in.

I tried to go into it to play roblox with people but then it locks you in a page asking for a “battle pass”… so basically, the app is a £10 per WEEK! It’s annoying how they force you to pay for the service. I got this app hope to find friends to play games with but to find that the cost of finding gamer friends costs £9.99 a week you’ll imagine my frustrations when I found there’s no free version of the app.
Not to mention the title of it. “Battle pass” I get it you have to use a gaming phrase but is in accurate. A battle pass is a option to pay and get more stuff like extra items or characters. but this isn’t a “battle pass” it’s a pay to play . that isn’t advertised as such on the website.

Do not bother unless you want to pay
I have been seeing this app in social media so I decided to give it a go. Connected one account then I am blocked by the subscription page. I saw the reviews here and they have the same issue too. I contacted plink on how to get pass it as there is no close button. Their response was to do the free trial, they won’t keep our details but we still have to use the free trial then cancel. No option to fix it but to subscribe and cancel. I couldn’t be bothered since I am forgetful so I deleted the app.
So if you can remember to unsubscribe, go on. Haven’t seen a review yet where they experience the same issue after the free trial.

Cant exit out of being forced to try the free trial
It’s kind of (extremely) stupid how as soon as you try to register you are immediately pushed to the free trial, with no way of using the app without signing up for the trial. Even if you cancel it afterwards I find it completely unacceptable that you would be forced to sign up for a trail before usage of the apps. I would ONLY want to use the free version, and even if i was considering the premium version, this would completely put me off as now I am unable to use the app without pledging to put in my bank details for the free trial.

Paywall and too expensive READ THIS!
The app seems like it would be fun, but then you are blocked by a massive paywall asking for £40 a month with no X button to move on to the free version, this means that there are basically no players on the app and makes the whole thing pointless, to improve the app, charge less because £40 a month is extortionate and make it so you can use it for free as another option as this will generate more money as more people will pay for the subscription if it was cheaper and more People will use the app aswell, even making it £5 per month would generate so much more as it is much more affordable than £40 per month giving that the service you are providing is definitely not worth £520 per year as you can find people to play on discord or on looking for group posts on Xbox/playstation for free. Fix the app, make it free as an option and lower your price!!! All of the 5* reviews are fake too and every recent review is 1*

This app seems like a complete scam not really sure how they’ve got an overall rating of 4 stars when all I am seeing is 1 star reviews. The game forces you into buying their subscription of £10 a week which is a joke of a price. I’d be concerned that I would not be able to stop this if you do want to risk going ahead make sure you use a credit card and if you don’t want to pay for the app just block it by phoning your credit card company up. What I’m confused about is whether this app is free after you have completed the free trial and no longer want the premium subscription? As in is there even a free version?

Unusable
As of right now, the app is unusable for someone who wants to access it for free. You immediately get hit with a screen FORCING you to sign up for a subscription service which is not cheap btw, and gives you no option to continue using the app without signing up to the subscription.
This is false advertisement and would not recommend the app to anyone. If they let me use the app for free without forcing me to sign up to a subscription and i liked the app after some time of usage, i would, maybe, consider the subscription service. But getting hit with a screen that doesnt go away and forces you to subscribe and spend money on an app that appears to be free, is unacceptable really. All the developer responses to these reviews are very generic and dont actually answer any of the concerns the people have. It’s all a sham.

Terrible!!!
I’ve only just got this app cause I figured I’d try and make some new gaming friends, but I got faced with a forced subscription say up which by the way states you get 3 days free then it takes money out of your bank, but alas that’s not the case instead it’s instantly charged my Apple ID, so not did I not get 3 days to try it out I also haven’t even been able to make a profile as it sticks me straight back onto the forced subscription pop up screen, so long story short save your money people and don’t bother with this app it’s a massive money grabbing scam (make friends the better way by talking in the games instead I guess) 🤔🤔🤔 and for any among us fans out there this app is the imposter and you should vote it out 😂

It’s literally £9.99 A WEEK. To swipe through steam profiles. Literally just join a discord group for people looking for friends or certain game servers. Save yourself the money and effort. Such a shame. Really good idea for an app that could be free with unlockable features for a price instead of making me link my accounts before hitting me with a £9.99 a week screen that I have to pay for or I can’t even use the app. I understand the awful reviews. However this app obviously pays for good reviews so I guess it doesn't matter anyways.

This app is ridiculous. At first sight it seems like a great app, a great idea to match with others and play games together. After adding an account from another platform, you're met with a screen asking you to try the premium version. (£9.99 a WEEK! £40 a MONTH! Who is paying this??) There is no way to get past this screen without paying, which is ridiculous from an app that claims to be free on the app store. There is no way to see the app or even test it before being made to pay, and at this point you have already linked your personal information. But, if this is true, why does the app have such a high rating on the app store?? Well, at a closer look, 99% of the good reviews are FAKE. (Come on, who called 'Gretna Gilbert' is going to be playing video games at her old age?) All the names seem to be randomly generated and every response from the developers is copy-pasted and it's clear they don't even bother to read them. Don't even waste storage on downloading this.
TL;DR
Hit with an immediate paywall of £40 a MONTH and all good reviews are fake.

Clickbait of an app
This app is advertised as a free product to talk and connect with other people. I understand that some things can be locked behind a pay wall, but not the whole app - it won’t even let you use the basics without having to use a “free plan” with reoccurring payments. If there was a base version, limiting the amount of players to match with or less specified results this would resolve much of it. I don’t mind if there’s extra content to pay for as long as I get the bare minimum for free. £9.99 is not anywhere near worth it for talking to people - there are better ways to find the teammates you’re looking for without this ripoff garbage pile of an app.

It’s really annoying how it’s trying to force me to try out the unlimited version. Why isn’t there and X button to close it? Saw an advert for this app, thought ‘great! Can meet some like minded people!’ But unfortunately it’s not free and at £3.99 a week I’m not paying that to meet other gamers when I don’t even know if they have Dead By Daylight or Avengers on this app… sorry but I think it’s a bit pricey per week and it’s sneaky to do that. I’m sick of apps doing that.

Not worth it
Although the app may actually be good, they shouldn’t be forcing you to take a subscription. There’s not even an option of clicking off and I be seen some of the developer feedback and it’s just ridiculous. They make it out as it’s being able to “give it a try” or “seeing the difference”, in reality why not just do what other apps do? You shouldn’t be promoting an app as ‘FREE’ when you’re forcing people to risk subscribing into something they kay or may not be able to get out of.
I think what the developers lack is the thought that all sorts of people can have access to this, even kids. They can be excited looking forward to making good gaming friends but then forced with no other way than to pay a subscription.
Overall, I can’t judge the app ok whether it’s good or not; however, what I can state is that if you’re getting your hopes on this app then do drop them. Because when you may of spent up to an hour of your time limit and creating your profile, you then get hit last second with a pop up that tell you to “try” the free trial, when in reality it is “buy the trial”.

Don’t bother downloading. You enter all your details and go through the set up process then are FORCED to accept a £16 per month (are you having a laugh?) free trial before you can actually explore the app. The guys behind this app think they’re being clever and different , but rather than allowing people to explore the app and desire the additional features, people like me are just deleting the app and will have forgotten about it in no time at all.

The trial...
It looks nice watching the adverts seems like the kind of thing some people need to have a better experience with online gaming but what I find annoying is that you have to sign up to use it, with past experiences I don’t trust this as I’ve done something like this with signing up before using a App From the store and my card was cloned and I was robbed thousands, I think it should be like tinder not dating wise but having a silver, bronze, gold subscription and if you don’t have any of them you’d get a limited amount of swipes and be limited on what you can do I think it should be like that.

The worst app
You’re promoting an app that helps people who are looking for a new group of gamers to play with, you put in all your account details, just to be hit with a pay wall, all I wanted to do was make some new friends to play some games with, but you’re trying to get me to subscribe to a stupid premium plan. As app developers I strongly recommend you add an X to the top right of the premium screen so people can decline purchasing or even using the free trial, I do not want to be forced into using a free trial for an app that should be free in the first place.
You also need to stop copying and pasting your feedback and sending it to people, read the issues people are having with your app and fix them, terrible app developers.

the best gaming app in recent years
An incredible gaming app, the greatness of which I realized not so long ago! Two years ago, I was a fairly inexperienced gamer. But now I realize that this is one of the best gaming app in recent years. In plink, I looked into every aspect with great enjoyment in search of something interesting. You rarely get this kind of experience lately. The result is a great experience, getting which you start to lose track of time. Waiting For upgrades. Developers, you are incredible.

After going through the process of adding all your information, you get to a wall that asks you to start a free trial with a £16/month payment after without the option of firstly seeing the app. Going through all that trouble of adding in your information to be hit by that. The developers have responded to other people in the reviews stating that the user has the option to cancel after the free trial but that should be put up and explained at the start and not when all the information is in there and gaming accounts are linked. People should be allowed to use a free version without having to sign up for a trial which can end up costing you a ridiculous price if you don’t cancel. It seems as though the developers almost have a copy and paste and bland response to the reviews they are getting and not taking anything into consideration since a lot of the reviews are from a while back. Save yourself the trouble and do not download this.

I’m grateful for abilities
I’m not a big fan of games. I have played a little bit of them but I didn't enjoy them as much. And I was a little bit cautious before I purchased plink but I ultimately decided to give it a chance because too many friends advised me to do it and finally I done it! To be honest, I really enjoyed plink! Personally for me, playing games is more interesting with familiar gamers and to my mind plink creates conditions for making gamers to be acquainted! That’s why I’m grateful for this format of playing games and new acquaintances !

This is a review coming from someone who has never touched any gaming app BUT I’m sure plink is the best one! I’ve never had any problems with absence of teammates but I’ve decided to try plinks matchmaking! I should admit, it completely changed my mind and I understood it’s much easier to find new teammates with plink! Moreover, you don’t need waist hours for playing with other gamers in order to find eligible players! I’ve got only positive experience, hope guys, you too!

Good idea, can’t get past the upgrade menu
I haven’t been able to use this app properly yet as I can’t get past the “elite” upgrade option. I will not be starting a free trial so I suppose I won’t be able to use the app at all. Disappointed. Please sort this issue out and I might try the app again another time. Will be deleting it for now.
Update: I’ve left it a while and the issue still isn’t sorted. The app is flooding the reviews with fake 5 star reviews. All of the replies to genuine complaints are copy and pasted. The people who have subscribed can’t unsubscribe. What a disaster plink. You had such potential.

Just don’t bother with it
Right so you fill out all of your information then you’re hit with a pay wall find ok whatever I’ll just click off it, oh there isn’t a cancel button Hm, even though it’s free cancellation however that doesn’t excuse the fact that we don’t even get to see the app before pressing to test the subscription button. At least add a cancel button in the top corner so we can at least SEE the app ourselves without having to go through a free subscription which if you don’t cancel you’re charged £16 pounds a month for an app if you want us to spend £16 pounds a month for an app at least let us make thar decision ourselves after we’ve seen the app and can decide weather we want to use the subscription or not.
Likewise of course there’s going to be adds and subscriptions in every app now but I would much prefer to see an add every so often than have to go through a pay wall for an app.
If you’re thinking of installing it, install discord it’s far better and won’t give you pay walls and adds

Cant get off the “join the elite screen”
I don’t want the free trial I just want to see what the app is like, I can’t close the page and my payment method doesn’t work so I can’t use the app, massive oversight, and I know the only reason it’s like this is to try and get money off of people that forget/don’t know how to cancel the subscription. Also I’d like to add that a lot of reviews look botted as they’re very generic and don’t talk about the app

Forcing subscription isn’t a good idea
As soon as you have signed up & given details of your gaming account you are then asked to sign in. One doing this you think you are successfully into the app. However, you are greeted with a subscription page which you can’t remove, forcing the user to subscribe, which even if free for 1 week, shouldn’t be forced. You should provide a lite version so users can see what they’re potentially investing in. Also I can’t access my account details as it’s blocked by the subscription page, so now I can not change/remove my details from the app which Im sure is against Apple guidelines, users should be able to gain access to this information without having to subscribe. Poor UX.

I hate “Plink”
Plink has been very frustrating bc I’ve given it not only my PlayStation details but also it needed my ,Snapchat , my Facebook and my Google account and then when I gave it all that I couldn’t use the app bc it came up with an ad for “premium” I tried restarting and I still couldn’t access the “app”. I’ve also read many reviews on this matter and when the devs reply it is a bot which is just advertising the “app” I whisk they would at leat try fix this problem bc there are so many people complaining about it but I’m just starting to think this whole app is a scam just to get account details off people.

Forces you to get a subscription
The app developers say they want you to try the premium subscription (obviously), but they ignore the criticism that we can’t try out any portion of the app until we click to register for the trial. It’s absolutely not acceptable to force people into a free trial that they don’t want to partake in, even if they can just cancel out. I don’t trust any company that forces the user base to engage in such a way. I should be able to reject the free trial and try out the free version of the app and THEN consider whether I want to upgrade. Not agree to an upgraded version of the account just so I can immediately cancel it and use the app in any way.
The developers absolutely need to take the feedback on board. All the latest reviews are criticisms of this shady practice and they don’t care. How am I meant to believe they’ll care for any other kind of feedback when they can’t be bothered to solve an issue which is pushing people away from using the app? Absolutely do not recommend this app or this developer to anyone. Stay away, and don’t try the free trial until they can take this very basic criticism onboard.

Dont bother getting this app. I may have its benefits. But, its a let down that you have to pay for its services. If the owners and developers of this appy truly want the people using the app, they shouldnt be throwing the payment option instantly. Let them use the basic instantly and have a tab in the profile section which allows you to upgrade. Like many other social media apps like Discord.
I have been reading these comments and commonly the developers respond say the same stuff “You can cancel it any time and you wont get charge” We shouldnt have to be in that situation in the first place. So far okay, but one VERY annoying bug
So far from what little ive seen of the app, it seems to run relatively well, ive yet to meet anyone or what not but i have encountered a rather annoying bug:
On iphone, on the pro subscription page, there is no X mark so you cannot exit out of the page, and thus are stuck in that menu until you close and reopen the app, this has caused a rather irritating issue where it occasionally pops up, and i have to reset the entire game.
One other suggestion as i cant seem to find an option if there is one, but the ability to remove or hide games on your profile that you no longer play or own? That would be very helpful

Why...?
During the login sequence, I was fairly excited to check it out, only to be forced to try for the free trial. Even after checking reviews, it seems a lot are saying the same. On a logical standpoint, I don’t see why you’re forcing new users to try the free trial. I’m sure there is plenty of folks who don’t have any form of payment which then results in them not having a chance to check the app out.
If we wish to bug the elite or even try it out, then we will do it with choice. Overall, we shouldn’t be forced to try a free trial. You’re essentially giving yourself a bed reputation by things such as that.
Highly suggest allowing us to skip the option. Certainly will bring more users to the table

I also NEVER write reviews but I had to write one to explain how good this app is. I started using it a week ago and for that time I've met a few well-playing guys and one decent gamer girl. To be honest I didn't believe these people could play as they are a bit younger than I am, but to my surprise, they're the best players I've ever played Apex with. I hope I'll manage to find some people of my age soon, but still I'm pretty happy about Plink!

I was actually excited to download this app because it's different from other similar apps. But after some time, I was a bit disappointed as I couldn't search for teammates for my fav game - the app doesn't support it, so I started spending more time in the newsfeed. And I want to tell you that it helped me to find a decent player. Many users make posts so you can easily scroll the newsfeed and find a player who also is looking for teammates.

Haven’t brought the app because you need to pay £16 a month which first off is way too much, secondly my family don’t really use credit cards which is uncommon these days. I would very much prefer being able to use the app first before I risk my bank details. It would be better if there was an add on pack for extra stuff. However one good thing is if you log in with an account (PS4,PC,Xbox...) you do get to see your gaming preference which is a cool feature. Also I’ve heard that the way you find people is like tinder, Not great way to find teammates but maybe if it was more like cards with four people on a screen and as you scroll down a long page would be nicer and easier.
Anyway if you do to want to see how it works go for but I’d suggest not since there’s too much effort.

When I seen that plink was for lfg I so excited to download it so I did, filled in all my platform info and when I got to the social media log in part this is where I see the first problem why dosent the website where I’m meant to log in with my gmail work. surely you would have tested to see if it works fine but anyways, after I signed in with Facebook I was met with the worst thing about the app the 1 week trial ad which has no X out button meaning your are stuck there and can only accept it to get rid of it also why is it so pricey, £16 or so just for some crappy features. So if you are user just get discord it’s free and dosent hit you with a paywall as soon as you use the app, and if your a dev just add an X out button in one of the corners and fix every over problem there is and also maybe consider lowering the price
