App does not open
It can take up to four goes to get the app to open,some stories are on the app to long,not as good as other papers apps.Pathetic nothing about the Vale game against Cheltenham got to use Sky App,This app is still doing the same thing,a story about a road closure in Cheshire,it tool four goes to actually get to the story,I now only use the app if I have to.

Used this app a while and one bad thing about it is when they remove your comments over using certain words or expressing your opinion. It’s a joke but you can’t report someone else’s comments

Mixed feelings.
When I first downloaded a few months ago I was impressed with the local news and information available. This hasn’t changed, I use it most days! What has changed however and I know this may seem a little trivial, but the comments have been inaccessible for a number of weeks, it’s nice to view others thoughts on some of the subjects and to also voice my own so I hope this gets sorted soon.

This is a very poor site. There are very few current reports. There are a lot of old reports going back months and far too many adverts. You should consider upgrading the site and charge for access because in its present form it’s a waste of your effort.

Horrible redesign
The app has gone from busy but interesting to sparse and unfinished. Content remains interesting enough but the user experience has gone downhill. Poor navigation is not helped by the fact that the tabs on the top of the screen are limited to four (three of which are variants of news and have a great deal of overlap). Sport is reduced to just a single tab - no ability to tap on Stoke City, Port Vale or even a Top Sports Stores tab. A weird approach to digital design, in which minimalism (or simple laziness) takes precedence over helping the user. Feels like it was done by somebody who has never used a news app. (Did you bring in a design agency? That might explain it.)
I hoped that the redesign would be tweaked over the past weeks, but that hasn’t happened. Nor has the new look proved any better after weeks of using it.
Anyway, all is not lost. A revamp, with better structure, improved navigation and more helpful layout could turn this around. Get working on it! (Please.)

Best app
The best app I have found so far for local news with not too much delay between the event and the reporting of it. Initial reports are a bit short on detail, usually waiting for statements from the agencies involved, but it is easy to follow the blog to get updated as more news is revealed.

Very confusing at times
When an article appears with a video included
then when I click on the video arrow a totally
different report is shown, and not related to the article. Please sort this out!l
Rubbish app stories are not cleared and some are well out of date. The weather forecast is totally over exaggerated, tonight says heavy snow but national forecast does not confirm.

Shoddy journalism & strange news priorities
Dull design, plagued with factual inaccuracies and trolls. So called breaking news can be days/weeks old and there is a perplexing focus on homes for sale and puff pieces for business owners. It’s a poor app with poor local coverage. Newcastle-under-Lyme is under represented and marginalised. Stories appear to be written by people with no local knowledge. Sad demise of a once great news provider.

Great app, keeps me up to date with local issues, as well as breaking news.
One criticism, older stories need to be removed quicker, as it can get a bit confusing after a few days as to whether it’s a new or old story. Otherwise spot on. It’s a 5 from me.

I want to love it
Too much junk on slow news days, misleading headlines that don’t pan out if you bother to read the story and videos attached to stories that have nothing in common. Latest version keeps freezing on my updated iPhone X

Too much muddle
Too muddled with stories lasting for weeks sometimes. If you see ‘M6 closed’ you will take it at face value, not noticing that it’s a week-old story! Recently there were appeals to find a missing man, notwithstanding the fact that a later report stated that his body had been found.
Stories are often repeated, sometimes four times in Top Stories, News, Newcastle and Stoke.
Too many postings are allowed from vicious right wing ‘gentlemen’ with moderation only when there is a complaint. This is unlikely as most of your correspondents agree with the crude and violent views and therefore don’t complain.
The Sentinel’s use of English Grammar is often an embarrassment.
Complaints to the Sentinel hierarchy have no effect. They are treated as an inconvenience from readers who should keep their views to themselves.
