Cannot load old presets in the new update

As of 17th December 2023, I can no longer access my old presets, specifically regarding text. Because my text is apparently now too long when I increase the spacing, it runs it over to two lines. Please update the issue and allow us to change the width of the text box so we can fit all our text into one line regardless of how much is in there or the spacing!

long story short i need to use dust,mist and glow for my colouring, prequel have decided to put those 3 as premuim. now for me i change my colouring/account etc. quite alot, so it would be worth NOTHING if i bought premuim. Also, for the amount it is (i dont know how much it is fyi) i dont think u should be able to even pay for an app which can be easily shut down. otherwise i love this app.

I used this editing app religiously for yearssss and all of a sudden about 97% of the filters and effects are unavailable for non premium users. Even presets without the gold stars don’t work unless you pay for premium.
I’ve read the reviews and the developer comments state over 300 effects variations are free but that’s NOT true, not even close! There’s no balance at all and it’s just a shame really…

I loved this app. The whole filters was to die for in the beginning. Until everything started to become a subscription bomb. Now I can’t even use a filter without having to pay. Not to mention all of the filters are now unavailable because you need to pay.
What happened to the good old prequel? 😔 before it was only a little amount of filters that needed paying now it’s almost all of them. It’s sad.

Used to be a really good app, but now it has loads of glitches. I don’t have the premium account so obviously can’t access all the filters, and usually there are stars on all the premium filters. But now a lot of the premium filters don’t have stars next to them, so when I try to click on a filter that I think is normal because it has no star on it, it redirects me to the page to get the premium account so I can’t use the filter. It would be good if you could clearly state all the premium filters, as it will make using the app so much easier, as it’s so frustrating using at the moment when you aren’t sure which ones are the premium filters.

Premium filters used to be clearly labelled with a gold star- since the last update this has been removed, so you will click on a filter to use it, only for a paywall to pop up. This is rendering the app almost unusable, especially when a lot of the filters that are now ‘premium’ used to be free. I would pay for Prequel, but the current pricing per week is steep. If it was a subscription of £5 a month, or a larger one off payment, I’d happily pay. The company clearly tracks which filters you use the most / are most popular and actively choose to make these premium rather than free.

Used to highly recommend this app to everyone, but just went to use it and pretty much all filters and effects are stuck behind a paywall now. If it was reasonably priced I’d consider it, but £5 a week?? Over 5 years you’d have spent £1300… on filters? What an insane decision, will surely alienate nearly all of its users.
At the bare minimum they could at least show which filters require a subscription - the app as it is now is just unusable. I need to find another app, and recommend everyone does the same until they rethink their decisions.

I’m not willing to pay £5 weekly just to edit a photo once in a while. Honestly it’s such a joke that every good filter they have is not free. It’s not as if they made a couple more filters not free, they went from barely any prequel pro filters to 90% of them being pro filters. There is many more better editing apps that are free. Even if you are willing to pay, don’t. Save your money and find another app

This app used to be fantastic. However, with every update, more and more of the formerly free filters were suddenly premium filters. I understand adding new premium with updates but taking away formerly free content seems a bit extreme. After the most recent update, however, about 7 filters that have been free for at least 2 years are now suddenly premium and hidden behind a paywall. I would consider paying but a subscription for 4.99 weekly seems an extortionate amount of money to be allowed to use a couple of filters that used to be free.

The app is good and all but I have a issue with Prequel gold, I’m a fanpage on tik tok and I use a coloring that has fairycore and sparkles in it, so one day I was making my coloring while I stared in SHOCK when I saw that I had to pay for the filters now, no one is paying £4.99 a week for filters, it’s filters for god sake!! The only people who use Prequel are fanpages I swear.. so if Prequel wants no one to use their app then sure, make the filters gold.

Even though it was a but annoying when they restricted some nice filters due to premium, all in all it was an amazing app. However, it looks like they have made almost everything in the app premium, and barely left anything free! All the nicer filters are gone. This is why I have switched to another app.

Normally this is a hands-down 10/10 app, but recently it’s been almost unusable. When I try to edit a video, it makes it glitchy and unwatchable. There’s nothing I can do to stop it and so I can’t and don’t use it. It’s a shame, because usually it’s my first point of call for when I want to edit something. I googled it and it suggested making sure the app is updated, which it is, so I’m not sure what more I can do?

I found it by FB ad showing how well it can make an anime vharacter out of your picture. As an artist, who can draw everything myself, I was shocked by results. Many filters ignore your eye colour, if you’re a guy - anime / cartoon filter will make you look like a girl with short hair and there isn’t any option to choose male. All the AI generated stuff is slow and results are mediocre at price. Price is… £5 per week!!! That’s like £22 per month. If you want better work just hire an artist, this app is okay only if you like nothing close to you stuff

I was enjoying using this app, but unfortunately the AI that’s meant to detect my blatantly showing face does not work. And I can no longer enjoy some of the features that k have paid for. I’m highly disappointed with this service and the AI system. Along with the anime portion or the apps images only displaying white faces. I may have light skin but I’m still and person of colour. It would be nice to see some DIVERSITY in the app.

I got a pack for £3.49 and it says that when you purchase the pack it comes with no watermark. So what have I actually paid for? Because I have already got the free items in the app and when I looked to see if what I had paid for showed up it was not there. I refreshed the app multiple times and everything is still the same I cannot see what I have paid for, the watermark is still there on the five pictures that were free and already created. My money has been taken. Not happy. 😐

This app is great for quick edits, however when working with text it’s very limited. You can only add text once per video, sometimes you want multiple styles or different sizes and you have to export and reimport to add another line of text it’s quite frustrating. Most basic editors have this function. If they could fix that it would be near enough perfect.

Aside from the spangly rainbow, glitch, kiddy effects etc… for someone looking to be creative with video there are actually some really pro-grade effects and filters in this app, better than some expensive plug-ins I’ve bought for after effects over the years!
However, the app cannot export at 60 FPS, which many of my videos are shot in. I really hope this can be corrected soon.

We used to be able to manually search for stickers via typing in search field for what we we’re looking for….& We used to have a stickers history to quickly apply favourites/recently used stickers….& we used to be able to load & position gifs. Now we just have a small, pre-defined handful of tacky stickers to choose from. App that was previously really great & super useful, has now become almost useless for me, such a shame!! Sad about this one…time to look around for alternatives.
Edit - in response to your response, for me the app became useless when the sticker search & sticker/gif history functions were removed. If this functionality is returned I’ll of course change my star rating to reflect its usefulness. I hope to see those functions make a comeback…

Honestly the best app for editing, I use it all the time! Although there are a LOT of locked filters, and some that used to be free require pro. If you didn't know, pro is 5 pounds weekly, and personally, i don't like buying weekly, so if there is a one time pro purchase I will 100% buy it!
Edit: I know the devs responded to this with an option for a monthly or annual subscription, (I cant find it lol) but could you make a one time purchase? There may not be one already, but I would really appreciate it.

I love this app! I use it to do my colouring for my fanpage! It’s amazing!!! 😍 but today I opened it and was doing my colouring until…. I found out mostly all filters and effects were locked and you needed prequel gold to use them! So pls I’m begging you, make them free again!!!! I love this app I would like to continue using it. My parents will not pay £5 for this app! So pls don’t do this!! Also I think lots of other people want there filters and effects back!!

Used this app for a long time, I understand they need to make money, but what I dont like is suddenly taking almost every free filter I used to use for years and suddenly making them premium. I wouldn’t pay for this app since it hardly works on most of my devices, crashes often and glitches out occasionally with the UI. And this is from someone with the newest iPad and Samsung galaxy.. can’t image it works on older devices. Since the paid option is not good value, and now the free options are basically all gone, I guess I will be looking for a better app.

I loved the app before you made the new update in February so you don’t have to change everything back but it would make me really happy if you could switch the abberation back to how it was before December alot of people are unhappy about it but other than that i have had your app for over a year on my phone and i love it so much please change it back i also use your app every day so it would be very helpful thankyou.

I’ve been using this app for about a month now and it’s all been fine up to now. The glitch is seen when I’m trying to load a video with the manage button but it seems that the button is out of place. So when I press on it it doesn’t do anything. Besides the glitch that’s only happened recently, I love the app and wish for more updates.

I really like this app, let’s me various amount of things, but there can be some glitches and bugs but overall this app is amazing and i really like it. It makes things such as pictures so much better, love this app a lot apart from the glitches!! To new people using this app from my review i’d say it’s an amazing and high quality app, hope you enjoy!! :))

This is another money grab app advertising “trendy” stuff but when you install it a weekly subscription of £4.99 is required in order to even try and see if advertised thing works. We have these app reskins every now again floating social media, cashes in on forgotten cancellations and once the cash flow dries, reskins app and here we go again. In comparison, full Adobe Photography suite is £10/month, which half of this parody, while giving you full set of cartoon and other filters with much greater control over end result.

I love it soo much one of the best but there’s 2 issues
1) not all videos and photos from my camera roll come up but I just share it with the app and am able to edit it therefore not too much of a problem
2) the video does it play smoothly it pauses and just doesn’t work properly only while editing though in the camera roll works just fine maybe it’s because my phone is an old model idk
Oh and we can’t add our own music or can you if so how...
But overall recommend it

I have had prequel for a while and I have always loved it, but I import videos from my camera roll and when I use it, it says creating which is a update instead of going on to edit immediately it loads. But this glitch happens every single time I try to use it when I press it, it will start at 25% and will not move it loads and loads FOREVER but it’s always still on 25% and now I can’t even use prequel. Maybe it’s just me that this happens to idk but it’s getting really annoying.

This app has always been amazing for me. The glittery filters are the best, and give such a good aesthetic. However there is an issue in the app lately whenever I try to load a slow motion video it just gets stuck loading at 25%. Frustrating because some of the best videos I’ve edited with the filters have been slow mo! Other than that, beautiful filters… I don’t really use any other app to edit anymore.

Duplicating it, and it’s getting frustrating and when am using vapour the settings am putting it to “1 30%” and it resetting and it’s frustrating, because I have the worst memory ever so my colouring was different please fix this :/

i've had this app before and uninstalled it because i never used it. i reinstalled it because i wanted to use some of the filters on there, after opening it three times it no longer allows me to get onto the app. it just has the opening page for the app and won't load so i can edit my pictures.
it's very broken, and it's quite said because it's such a great app :(

Love this app, for free it’s brilliant and they are constantly improving the free content. So as I used it so much I thought I’d purchase the full version. Lovely extra stuff so thanks Prequel. However when are we getting the iPad version. It’s all I mainly use and whilst you can extend the view you should really make an iPad one now. Thank you 🤟🏻

I love prequel! All the different effects everything!! I use it most of the time for my TikTok fan page (pinktycrs) :)! The reason I gave it 5 is that I have a small suggestion that Ik would help! Ok so once u have done ur colouring sharpen glow ext, u would press a button near export called “ save” and this would save ur theme, so then the next time u want to do it again u go onto “saved” and choose the one u want give it a name and ur done! I feel like it would help a lot hope u see this! Stay safe ♡´･ᴗ･`♡

This app is one of the best apps on my phone o sorry l mean IT IS THE BEST APP ON MY PHONE. I used to look like shrek’s swap but now l still look shrek’s swap but it has amazing filters and should be number 1. 100% recommend it and l was just wondering if you have the scribble effect because l can’t seem to find it.

The subscription UI is not clear. If the app cannot be used at all without a subscription, say this clearly! I did not wanna subscribe for a free trial for the upgraded version and I did not want to pay for the app too. Putting “Continue” below the prompt to pay for a free trial is very misleading because it makes a user think they can still use the app without payment. I was extremely upset when I found out that I had subscribed and paid 5 pounds when I clicked on “Continue”. I uninstalled the app immediately! I have no interests in using such a misleading app. 😡😡😡😡😡😡

this is a problem with the compatibility with the app. I use this app for my colorings on tiktok and i’m not allowed my phone during the week so i use an ipad. i want to stay active and make new videos but i obviously can’t because your app isn’t compatible for Ipads please tell me why this isn’t on ipads as ipads can do the same as a phone!

I would really appreciate this to be fixed in the app: only square and portrait formats are supported, not landscape due to the new update. This is very inconvenient especially for the thousands of editors that use your app, please make this simple change as it was once before! There’s also a quality issue when it’s exported, which isn’t great for people who need high resolution. Furthermore, perhaps my biggest issue is that the “story” filters have changed. These were my favourite filters and you can’t even remove the added grain that now comes with it. Even if you change the filter please at least give us the option to remove the grain!!! :(( very upsetting, I hope to hear back from you

Hello! This app is amazing and I say it is! The filters are amazing and Just mwah! I use prequel for my Fanpage videos! Works perfectly! But recently I been getting a glitch where whenever I save a video it doesn’t save and now I get onto prequel my screen turns black and it’s kicks me out! I’m hoping you see this and fix it! 🐇

I’ve been using this app for quite a long time now and when it’s working at its best there is nothing that can compete with it.
However recently I had to delete the app and reinstall it just to get it working ,it seems after a few days of working well it will then decide not to load which is so frustrating so I have no alternative but to uninstall and reinstall time after time.
Please look into this as I can’t be the only person having this issue.

I absolutely love this app but there’s a glitch (i think it’s a glitch) i don’t know if it’s only on my phone or on other people’s too but when i try to import videos it loads then about halfway of loading it stops and the video doesn’t load and like i can’t edit it? Could you please fix this apart from that i love this app so much💗 + We should be able to like have a preset thing so as soon as you import a video or photo and you click on presets and choose your preset your video/imagine would automatically change to that if you get what i mean. i love this app so much <3

I usually love prequel and it works great but after this last update the effects and filters around loading. Each icon keeps spinning. I’ve used it on 4G and wifi. Turned on and off my phone. Checked if I missed an update and had my husband download the app and it won’t work for him either. I hope this can get fixed soon

I downloaded this app hoping to create some awesome videos and photos, my friend had introduced me to the app and it worked on her phone perfectly fine. I came to download this to my phone and was incredibly upset to discover I cannot use it. It stays on the introduction screen with no way of moving onto creating videos and taking photos. My phone is compatible and I’m up to date on updates so I was really disappointed this wouldn’t work. If this could be fixed that would be great as I’d love to use this app :)

It’s amazing of you that many times it is beautiful for us and everything but it’s been a glitch where when I’ve been trying to film the its tell me to allow access to my camera and I’ll go in my settings to allow access and it just doesn’t show up and I’ve clicked on it many times just trying to fix the problem and I don’t know what’s up with it so images have the not allow access to the camera roll eyes it’s not gonna work for a lot of people.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to for this app. It’s really useful for tiktok. They have a bling effect so the little icon on your Tikok video it won’t show what effect you’ve put on. You can create really nice videos for free! Another thing is that it has no watermark 😍. 10/10 recommend!! 💕

I absolutely love the app and the features, has a lot of unique stylised looks I’ve always wanted to create on pictures. But the price point to access the whole app is EXCESSIVE. Around £5 a week to use all the filters!! Even £5 a month is a lot but certainly more reasonable. I think the app would definitely be worth it, if they dropped the price point down a lot more . Other then that a really great app with the features, but doesn’t offer enough to be worth the £5 per month price tag.

This could be the greatest app in the world, but I am utterly done with every developer out there looking for a piece of the subscription pie. No more. I am not subscribing to an app that makes boomerang photos. That is preposterous. If you are Adobe or Microsoft, you have the clout and established client need to ask for subscriptions. And even then, your service and updates had better be flawless. Little apps like this? It’s just an attempt to print money. I have enough leeches on my credit card. I am subscribed out.

For example, on the effects that provide dates, the dates that are displayed are only today. Prequel is a good enough app. There is a lot of scope for editing videos etc. Would be worth paying a decent amount for the app (that would not be an unreasonable ask, money has to be made) but to pay approx £260 per year. No thank you. That is too much. Maybe breakdown the subscription. A certain amount to remove the watermark, a certain of amount money for different filter and features. Or just bring down costs altogether!

So I Love the app, I really do. But I have a Samsung phone, and I’m having to use my iPad. So I have no way of sending the photos I edit to people and that’s basically the whole reason I do it. it’s for my Instagram and people enjoy seeing what I make, as well as me loving to do it as well. So, I would really appreciate it if this was on Samsung as well, so I could edit and send photos with out the hassle of emailing it to myself. I really do enjoy this app, I really do, but I might have to find a new one to use and stop recommending this since a lot of people I know use a samsung.
