Description

Your home is under attack. The king is dead at the hands of Viking invaders. Hope is a distant glimmer in the fog, fading fast with every passing moment. As you rise to take your father’s place as ruler, it will fall to you to stage your defenses. But make no mistake – this is no fight for victory, but a desperate grasp for survival.
Bad North is a charming but brutal real-time tactics roguelite. Defend your idyllic island kingdom against a horde of Viking invaders, as you lead the desperate exodus of your people. Command your loyal subjects to take full tactical advantage of the unique shape of each island. Everything is at stake: fail, and watch the blood of your subjects stain the ground red.
It’s charmingly brutal, with beautiful procedurally-generated islands and adorable soldiers juxtaposed against the blood-stained realities of war. You control the broad strokes of the battle, giving high level commands to your soldiers who try their best to carry them out in the heat of the moment. It’s accessibly deep, with simple player inputs masking a dynamic combat simulation that make it inviting to new players while challenging veterans.

Pleasantly surprised

Was slightly sceptical about this game prior to buying. It is quite a simple game but have been enjoying it a lot so far.
I have had no issues in regards to saved game data. I always press exit to main menu prior to closing the app which may help.

Crash,crash,crash....

Using ipad(2017)........but still great

I’m using iOS 13.2 by the way. ;)
Doesn’t save......hard to go back and play again unless you have 3 to 4 hours spare

Good game but...

When I try to play again the worlds don’t work anymore and the it just keeps loading due to some error it’s not a bad game other than that one glitch

Really good game but...

Awesome game, if I can load my save 🙄
Seems like I can only play in one sitting as trying to load a saved game doesn’t work.
Which is a shame as it’s bug free on the Xbox.
Please fix this and I’ll change the star rating as I wish to make a proper review but this glaring issue is keeping me from experiencing the whole game.

Enjoyable with a reasonable learning curve

I play it on my 1st generation iPad Pro with newest IOS and it runs very smoothly. I miss the RTS type deeply after playing Dragon age on PC and here I am, found this great tiny but immersive RTS game. The graphic is lovely and the little noises the generals made really funny. The challenge is just right for me and I enjoy learning about all my little guys. What I hope to see in the next version is more rounded storyline and deeper skill set. Also a little note on the enemies would be nice but I don’t mind the tried and true current situation here. Thank you for making this wonderful game!

iPad Pro crash issues..

What a fantastic game Bad North is until you reach the first checkpoint. A definite nailed on five stars in fact. Unfortunately, after said checkpoint the game becomes unplayable due to continuous crashes. My old 2017 iPad Pro is running the latest IPadOS. Feels like some sort of memory issue causing the crashes but hey what the hell do I know?

Same issue as the rest

Neat game, perfect for touch screen, but crashes after a bit then won’t load the save file. Hope that gets fixed soon.

Failed to load saved game

All progress Lost's (approximately 4 hours play time). Not happy, as was enjoying the game.

Like it but....

Really like the game but keep losing my saved campaign to an error when I try to play the next day. Disappointing.

Cloud saving is broken

Was absolutely loving this it’s such an addictive 1 more island kind of game but by changing between my iPad and my phone my best saved game was wiped when I quit my new game on the iPad and to play my best previous saved game on my phone to find it had been replaced with the new iPad save. Would really like to be able to manually save.

Won’t load saved games

Great game which I was really enjoying until it suddenly refused to reload my saved game. It coincided with the first update. Irritating.

It's finally here!

Had this on the Switch but now I can covertly play this at work! Hopefully nobody in the ER recognises the tell tale sounds of a Viking invasion.
