Been using this app for a while now and have read so many good books. A few books I haven’t finished as some stories go on for to long that becomes the same stuff over and over but some amazing authors on there that should be releasing books on Amazon etc they are that good! There is a long wait time if you do not have points but I may have to now get the subscription as it is only £4.99 a month and it is worth it only reason I haven’t is I had loads of points in my account from referring people to the app, now only getting down to my last 100 points.

So far I have enjoyed reading on this app and have found a wide range of stories to chose from. I can’t afford to pay for the subscription so the points you can earn daily has been great but the wait time in between books is quite long. I think a good way to reduce the wait time would be to watch adverts like when you earn the points. To help readers like myself who can’t afford the subscription I think there should also be other ways to earn points by completing different tasks or once you have read a certain amount of books you get a reward in points. Another thing I have found is to read the second book of a series you have to have a subscription which is annoying as I am now on a cliffhanger with no way to found out what happened. Overall I have enjoyed reading so far and will continue using the app and would recommend to others.

Great stories.

The stories are great, even though you’re reading words on a screen you can actually see what’s happening in your head, if you know what I mean?. But the downside is only being able to read one chapter at a time and having to wait too many hours before you can read the next chapter. You do get the chance to watch videos for points (2 points per video), but to skip waiting hours for the next chapter it takes most of the points off you so you go back to only reading one chapter at a time and back to waiting too many hours for the next chapter to read. We need to be able to earn more points and also lower the points you need to skip waiting for the next chapter or even lower the hours we have to wait for the next chapter or even let us watch a video so we can read the next chapter. No one wants to have to wait hours on end before they can continue reading books. Waiting many hours to read the next chapter is seriously frustrating. Not good. The more I try to read these books the more mad I get, the stories are brilliant but the fact that it takes seconds to read 1 chapter then I’ve got a 6 hour wait for the next chapter is just pathetic. I’m stuck between the brilliant stories and deleting the app. I’m happy to say that I’ve found some of the books for sale on Amazon so I’ve started buying them. No more waiting hours on end for the next chapter.

there are lots of stories and there are different genres and storylines and the books i have been reading are rlly interesting but i do have to say like on the books i’ve read u get free chapters and then when you’ve run out of chapters then you have to wait quite a while before you can actually unlock the next chapter or you have to save points to unlock the chapter but if you get premium u can read the books without worrying about not having enough points for the next chapter. overall this app is rlly good and they have tasks you can do to earn points (i’m writing a review to get some points haha)

App slightly misleading

Quite disappointed with this app myself - it doesn’t say clearly what you’re paying for and what the points are for. Then between chapters you have to wait 5mins which others have commented on - ends up being hours! I left my phone and went back 2 hrs later but it still showed 3mins 39 seconds left. Life is too hectic to stare at your phone for 5mins! You should be able to leave it ticking down and go to another app or function then return in 5mins.

The tactic is to make you use your “points” to get the chapter sooner.

Book (millennium wolves) is an addictive chick flick encompassing all our fantasies but so badly written (complete with texts messages reproduced between characters) that I worry for the classics and the future of good English!

A distraction from life granted but I wouldn’t progress reading with such a cumbersome app.

Good stories, a wait time is too long!

The app itself is very tidy, easy to navigate and search for content. Also offers recommended titles based on the current story you are reading which is great!

You can choose to use your points (or purchase additional points) to unlock chapters, however it is not necessary to spend money as a chapter is unblocked after a set time.

I do find the wait times are getting longer as you get further into the story, so effectively pushing you towards spending money on more points to unlock the chapters faster.

You can pay for the unlimited versions, but that is an all-upfront cost rather than having an option to pay monthly.

I think a monthly payment option would be perfect as it seems there are a lot of users, who like me are so gripped by the story they are reading they do not want to wait 5+ hours for the next chapter!

Pretty good so far

I really like the way the app is portrayed and how easy it is to use. To improve I think maybe offer more ways to earn free points as I think the prices are a little steep for what they are and also maybe change the “skip the wait” price from 10 to 5. I think if you miss a day where you don’t go on the app you should be given the pass that you missed and so the next day have two passes, just so that people will continue to use the app and not become bored from the waits. The stories on the app are amazing and very well written and worth the wait, I just don’t want it to become a bore. Another way to earn points could be earning a point every time you read a chapter of a story that’s less popular, that way the creator of that story gets appreciation for their work and more popularity and the reader is earning points.

It’s good just wish it didn’t take so long to read more

I’m kinda addicted to this not gonna lie but having to wait like 5-13 hours for one chapter is abit ridiculous like I wouldn’t mind waiting 2 maybe 3 hours but more then that is honestly frustrating as hell like even waiting that long can be frustrating but it’s reasonable I also find the free points are very little not even enough to read one chapter sometimes. Don’t get me wrong the books are amazing and very addicting like I can’t stay off the app but the hours could be adjusted like I’ve to wait over 13 hours for one chapter. I don’t mean to be critical as I do love the books but I definitely think it could be adjusted just a tad to make it better you could even add challenges like read & review a book for so many points. Or play certain games for so many points etc

Great reads long waits

I started reading a snippet on Facebook that brought me to Galatea. I’m an thoroughly stuck into a story and waiting 6 hours between chapters is very frustrating.

I put my notifications on so I know when a new chapter is ready, I’ll scroll through the chapter and click next to start the next countdown even when I’m not reading and sometimes this helps me build up a couple chapters to binge when I have the time to read but goes back to frustrating very quickly when I’m back up to speed and having to wait another 6 hours. I suppose it helps the book last longer as I would normally burn through a book.

I wish there was a monthly option to subscribe rather than a £60 one off payment. Hopefully that is something that is considered from the app as the only other way to get monthly subscription I believe is to agree to a 3 year subscription whether you are still using the app or not

Ridiculous

Waited six hours to be allowed to read 17 lines and then another six hours for all of 11 lines. Trying to entice me into spending money to read more, I suppose. NOT happening. Galatea needs to set a reasonable minimum word limit to qualify as a chapter. These paragraphs are an insult to your readers and a clear indication that you do not care. FIRST UPDATE: Still finding the chapters to be very short. Also since the last update my reading streak has been reset to 1 and hasn’t advanced for days. Will never get to the weekly bonus at this rate. SECOND UPDATE: My reading streak has now been reset three times. Very annoying to build up to higher levels of rewards only to have them stripped away. Also, why have you changed the location of the controls? Home used to be on the left and chapters on the right. Now they are reversed. People are creatures of habit. I hope you have a good reason for the change. THIRD UPDATE: The six hours wait was bad enough. Now each subsequent chapter skipped costs more points. Also, unfinished free books don't reset when the time expires... they yield an error message so you can't even read from the beginning. I've had this app for a long time, but the bugs make it very annoying to use. FINAL UPDATE: AND you increase the wait time??? I've had enough of this nonsense and greed. I have other sources for better books without all the hassle. I will use my points to finish the lame book I'm reading, then I'm out.

Amazing

This app allows you to read amazing stories at low prices. Money can be avoided by using points earned through different things as well as waiting between chapters. The wait between the chapters depends on the book it can be from as slow as 5 hrs to as high as 49. This isn’t that bad just read books on rotation. Chapters can range from a price of 10 points to 25 sometimes harder like I have said before it all depends on the book.

Overall I feel this app is amazing any problems that have been noticed were only minor.

One annoying thing about the app is how my points keep disappearing. I will go onto the app and have 19 points then I’ll go browse however then going to buy a chapter I want to read my balance is back to 0. So I’ll watch some videos but I am then not given those points.

To long of a wait

I really enjoy this app however it to much off a long wait to read the next chapter 10+ hours is to long to wait especially when your really getting into the book your reading and then you have you to wait ages for you start again I have nearly deleted this app due to it as I haven’t got enough patience to wait to continue reading don’t get me wrong it is a good app and I enjoy the story on it but the waiting times are ridiculous also it but off a joke when you are reading the books and you got points it goes up lie it started at 10 then 15 and so on also one think is I want be doing is constantly buying point cause is to much to pay for all the time if the waiting time to improve then it would be a perfect app.

There are many different story’s available on galatea but the wait time is way too much like 6 hours is unbelievable, you shouldn’t have to pay to continue reading or dont advertise it, you can only watch 10 videos a day but that’s stupid you should be allowed to watch more so you can read more and not have to wait ages, some people don’t have lots of money and don’t want to waste it on a reading app. The story’s are great don’t get me wrong I love reading them and I get hooked into all of them but when I’m waiting I forget about it and I get bored day after reading a chapter you should unlock 3 adds or something that will get you coins or when u log in each day up the coins to higher prices instead of 1 each day. Also have more tasks available like “write a review” “follow us on instagram” you should have more available some like “read for 15 minutes” “read for 1 hour” “finish a book” “have 5 books in your library” for me it’s only 2 stars because the books are great I love them but the rest of the app needs an update or no one is gonna download it anymore cause what’s the point in getting hooked then having to wait 6 hours why not 5-10 minutes instead or something?

Handy and convenient

I’m really enjoying this app and having such a good selection of books to choose from but I do wish there would be a warning if the book is incomplete at the start to save us spending coins, for instance kidnapped by my mate ends on a cliffhanger on book one it’s been months now and still no book 2 even tho the author has released chapters of book 2 on other platforms, also some of the chapters are barely more than paragraphs and not worth spending 10 points on but I do like how you can earn upto 20 free points by watching videos daily, since writing this review things have changed in the app and not for the better!!! Wait times are ridiculous on some books which means unfortunately people loose interest, one book I started was 23 hours wait or 16 points and for how short the chapters are they’re really not worth 16 points, instead of points they should give you the option of just buying the whole book for the same price you would spend on a hardback copy in the shops, I’m sure there’s many out there like me who don’t think some of these books are worth spending £50+ on and the subscription is only available in one lump sum instead of a smaller monthly payment

Great stories.

I'm loving this app as I can listen to the books. I get a lot of migraines so this is so much better for me. I can also carry on with things to do around the house or my knitting and other hobbies. I wish I could afford to buy the subscription but being a widow and a pensioner I can't really afford it. The only thing I don't like is waiting for the next chapter. It's a long time to wait when you've got into the story. When I go back to it I think “What was the last bit again?” Being disabled I'm in a lot of pain daily and this helps me to take my mind off it. But please don't stop at the end of chapters. I'll watch more adverts to get points if I have to. Other than that it's a great app.

Update.

I had a little money that someone owed me so I paid for the year. The chapters are so small and was sick of waiting. There is one problem twice my app jumped and missed chapters. I couldn't find the number I was on so had to listen to them again until I reached where I was. That was so annoying so now I keep a list of all the chapters and tick them off as they go. I've had 2 books and both has finished abruptly. How long we have to wait is anyone guess? I'm not happy about that either. I have to listen to another book now until they come out again. I just want to know the proper ending. So please get them on quickly. Other than that I'm loving it but must get better.

Nice idea, not great for binge readers

So I love to sit down with a book or story for at least an hour, so this has been fairly frustrating for me. Don’t get me wrong from what I’ve read so far I like the stories but having a 6 hour wait between each chapter is a bit ridiculous when then chapters take less then 10 minutes to read through then, some are literally 5 minutes. You can get points by buying them or watching adds but it has a limit which is seriously frustrating! You can access more adds 7am the next day but overall it’s not that friendly to binge readers. Now yes it’s free, unless you buy points, however the total of money you could spend buying chapters you would be essentially buying multiple books for the price of one. Love this app

the app it’s self is amazing tidy the books are amazing and some even have a choice of interactive sound. if i ever had a problem the team always get back as quick as possible.

the only issues i have is the wait time for the majority of books it is about 6hours however some are 36 hour waits and depending on when you start the timer that’s two days, i think this is ridiculous.

the second thing is the unlimited deal, i am perfectly fine with the chance to have unlimited access but multiple times i have found a book and read the free chapters only to find it is part of the unlimited deal and i can’t continue the story.

tho only things i’d consider changing would be the wait times and the books to possibly have a small label so say they come with a payed package.

It is good, however too much wait

The app itself in the way it’s slid out to how the text is present is all very tidy which I’m a big fan of. As well as this I like that they have some audios that go with the text as you’re reading along.

However between chapters you have to wait 36 hours to get the next one for free which I think is a ridiculous amount of time to read something that will take no longer than ten minutes at a push. A way you can get around this is using 20 points to bypass the wait which is nice, but again these points can only be gotten once a day at 21 maximum between watching ten adverts for two points each and 1 point for a daily chapter.

There are of course ways to spend money to get through what you want which I don’t like because it feels more pressured with the long waits and little options to get points in the app.

If I was to improve the app I’d either make it so you can read double the chapters then have the same wait or make point earning without spending money much easier so you can have the freedom to read what you want when you want instead of waiting a day at a time.

For Beginners romance novel lovers .

I loved the app . I would recommend to read Marrying the CEO for someone who’s using the app for the first time it is the first step to fall in love with our fictional characters 😏😏😏with full of spice, romance, drama, friendship and bit of cursing 🤬 😂.a pro tip : before you start to read go to chapters and see which episodes are locked usually the first few will be gifted episodes to se if the story is really your type to someone who don’t want subscription and are struggling with points and stuff go to the one episode above the locked episode click it and scroll to the end of the page tap next chapter it will display the countdown to when the next chapter be unlocked doing this even before you start the novel will help you to get your next chapter sooner than to get all interested and sigh that you have to wait for the next chapters . love the books but the app needs a bit of improvement

i absolutely love the wolf and supernatural that are on this app but… and i know you probably get this a lot… but i fell the chapters are to short for the amount of time we have to wait for a new chapter, this app could be a 5 star app is it wasn’t for the waiting time, it could be made even better by maybe adding on a chapter at 7am as well as 7pm or something like that, because i know it’s harder to make the characters longer. or you could create a way that people could earn coins ( like a daily challenge or book ) with like a max of 5-10 coins a day or something, because not everyone wants to spend their money on it. Also found it really annoying that if you miss a day of reading then you only get one chapter and not to or however many you have missed. that’s why i’m rating it 4 out of 5 stars

Expensive and Unoriginal

I downloaded the app to read a book I’d seen advertised a few times. The app itself can be expensive. You either have to wait 6 hours to read a new “chapter” which is very short, more like a couple of pages, or buy points. So far I’ve spent £22 on points and I’m not even half way through the book or at the main event, I’m still very much in the build up. Unfortunately I won’t be buying more points or finishing the book as I’ve lost interest after waiting 6 hours just to read for a few minutes then having to wait again. The “chapters” also go up in price very quickly, originally costing 10 points and rising to 20.

So you actually end up getting through half as many chapters as you thought you would when purchasing the points, which I feel is misleading. There is a subscription option for £60 per year, so if you think you’ll read a lot I’d recommend that if you don’t want to wait.

I completely understand both the app and the author has to make a profit, but for £22 I could buy a whole book, if not two, and have the pleasure of reading the whole thing.

Stupid Wait Times

So I downloaded this app understanding it is like other story apps where by you either wait a period of time to read a chapter or you can subscribe or purchase “coins” to read more chapters. However what I was horrified to find with this app is every time you use coins to purchase the next chapter it adds more time onto the waiting timer. So it meant when I decided not to spend any more of my money on the coins that for me a five hour timer that I started with allowing me to read 2 chapters a day went to a timer over 35hrs meaning a single chapter every two days. And these chapters aren’t even that long! I’d advise to any future users of this app to either subscribe or to wait the five hours instead of spending cash for coins if your like me where by you’re not willing to keep spending just under £5 for 100 coins every five chapters.

I would also like to add when I started using my coins it began as 10 coins for every chapter but the more chapters I read the more coins it would take, so it went from 10 coins a chapter to 20 coins a chapter and then jumped to 30 coins a chapter. This app may have a lot of stories to read (which is the only reason it gets two stars) but it feels more like I’m spending my cash for no gain.

A little disappointed but overall okay

I love Galatea and all the stories on there. I enjoy it a lot and it’s super interesting however I find that the 6 hour wait to read a very short chapter is atrocious. This also means that it takes a really long time to finish a book I could read in 2 days. I only really get to read 2 chapters a day, one early in the morning and one before I go to bed. I wouldn’t mind if the wait is shorter or you had to win a game/read a book of some sort to be able to continue reading. You also have to pay if you want to continue reading and some people can’t afford that which means there are 2 narrow options to choose from. It would be fantastic if they could improve this. Overall, there’s nothing wrong with the app besides this and the stories are creative and a really good read. I like that there are ways to achieve points by watching 10 adds to give you 20 points. the stories are so interesting im obsessed!!

Coins / payments / free books

I’ve only had the app about a week and a half and so far I really like it.

I read a lot - but I chose to read on apps as I don’t always have the money to buy books. But like this app you can get free coins every day but to me the free coins isn’t enough. If I could I would read the whole book in one go. The app allows you to read as many chapters as you like IF they are unlocked.

I do however like the three day free book - 4 books a week are available for 3 days for free and when there is something I like it’s always finished before day 2. It means I don’t have to spend coins or wait to watch videos to get more coins. I can just read the whole book.

Scam

I have never written a review before so this says a lot. A few months ago I was reading one of there books I was enjoying it so I paid £5 or something like that so I could read more chapters but when I went to check my account there was nothing there I tried Google but I couldn’t find anything that could help me get my money back anyway I should of deleted it right there and then but I had books I had already paid for and waited each day so it could unlock a chapter for me on my library part of the app so I decided to keep the app and reread the books I’ve already got anyway a couple of weeks back I was reading another book I waited each day for a chapter I watch ads for points I paid for 4 extra chapters for it as I was enjoy the book today I created account as it said it would give me 10 points (it didn’t) so I deleted the account bad mistake it took all my books I’ve paid for and waited for gone, I deleted the app

And downloaded it again then tried getting back into my account it wouldn’t let me.

Love the stories but the app needs improvement

I absolutely love the stories on this app, I don’t even mind the 6 hours wait for new chapters as it means I get to read them later In the day when I should and. Not while working lol

The app however is what makes me annoyed and the rating loose 2 stars, I have have delete and reinstall this app multiple times over the months, which is annoying in itself. You close it and then go to reopen the app the next day and then nothing! Delete and reinstall needed every time! Why would keep this app open all day everyday just to be able to open it?!

The other annoying part is the books with audio available- you can mute them but if you have headphones attached…..For some unknown reason if you have headphones attached to phone the annoying background music keeps playing even when you have moved to a new book or a new chapters the music to get they’re stays on unless you open new music to stop the Galatea music. This is the same if you were to have attached any Bluetooth speaker as well, any playing music will be stopped when you get to new chapter.

So although I love the stories and the mix of genres on here the constant deletion and reinstalling is quite annoying.

Overall app review😆😆

I find this to be one of the best games of it's kind! We all know how addictive such games can be and so, if you're an avid reader, I an guarantee you'll end up spending coins on this game! But, unlike all other games, you won't be disappointed in the content; as there is a vast array of story subtext to choose from; this include a hell of a lot of supernatural/vampire/werewolf stories, which if you're like me, you'l very much enjoy!! The only problem I have with this and many other apps is the waiting time for a free chapter and to receive points. This isn’t a good thing as it means you will be waiting forever before you've earned some much deserved points back!! All in all, I think these features should be changed and so that that anyone will be willing to read more and spend their own money despite everything (A win win really!!) So yes, I highly recommend this app, as it's a good game of it's kind and you're guaranteed to have plenty of fun with it!!🥹😍😍

Great app but room for improvement

I enjoyed all of the books I have read so far and I love the sound effects that make the reader feel engaged and give more depth. The stories are all very detailed and interesting and capture the reader's attention. However, some things are not very good about the app. The wait time between chapters is way too long, especially for some books which have rather short chapters as you only earn 1 point per day so you have to wait 10 days to move to the next chapter and this can be very annoying and makes you lose interest in the book you are reading. The amount of money you have to pay for points can equal the price of the whole book but you still only get a few chapters. I think If the wait time was reduced it would improve the app by a great deal

Content good but price is too much

Enjoying the book series I’ve been reading but stopped buying points for chapters when I realised how short the chapters were, how many there are in each book and how expensive that made it. Would have been happy paying a weekly subscription for a lesser amount or a monthly one. But after paying £20 and not even getting to the end of two books I decided not to spend anymore money.

If the app weren’t being greedy and made the price a bit more reasonable or the chapters longer than literally a 3min read, then I’d gladly spend my hard earned cash. As it is I have to watch ten ads a day and wait 6hrs between chapters instead. I am keeping an eye on the prices though. After this series I will uninstall the app due to issues above, but I’m invested in current series.

Great stories but expensive

I’ve really enjoyed the stories that I have been reading so far, both in the fantasy/supernatural gendre. Quick to emerge you into the story and the characters so are a pleasure to read. Sadly the only way to be able to access them is to pay by chapter. The chapters are short also the cost soon racks up. To have them unabridged without interruption you have to pay for full access to all stories rather than by the book or, pay for chapters which is very expensive and the cost is far greater than actually buying a book. Galatea need to address this issue. Not everyone wants to pay the yearly price, or by the chapter. After finishing my current book I don’t think I’ll be back until I can just pay for the books I want to read or have a monthly subscription rather than have to pay for the year as I like to vary the gendre of books I read.

Great content but the waiting…

Really good content and good app, doesn’t glitch often and have never been thrown out, gives you the option to earn 2 points a day by watching an add and earn 5 points by following there socials however if you can’t afford to buy the membership of nearly £60 for the year of separate points which start from around £2 for 4 chapters of the story it is a excruciating long wait, over 5 hours to read for 3 minutes is abit ridiculous, I wouldn’t moan either if i could watch adverts to make points but as stated above you only get 1 advert a day to play for 2 points and each chapter cost 10 points which is really frustrating, it would take you 5 days to get 1 free chapter from watching ads. However I do like the fact the app is advert less so if you have been lucky enough to have accumulated a few free chapters or points you don’t have to watch ads between the book which is nice. Would only recommend to patient or rich friends to read.

Great stories

I love the concept of the app and the fact that there’s a limit or I would just keep reading and get nothing else done because the stories on the app are so good. They’ve improved the time wait as well now so it’s only 6 hours until you can read the next chapter which suits me good. If you love werewolf fiction this is definitely the place for you because there are so many werewolf stories and many other supernatural ones. I’ve also read other stories that have really good plots that aren’t supernatural so there’s definitely so much choice. Everyone is really nice on the app as well and it feels like a cute little community where everyone can discuss what they thought after each chapter… kind of like book club but virtual I guess. Honestly give it a try if you want to find new stories and I doubt you’ll regret it!

Ok, but...

I like the story I’m currently reading, but the chapters are super short! I would personally prefer to have normal pages where one can change the font size rather than have to tap for every single line... Also, is the one year subscription the only option?? And one has to pay for almost £75 at once? I wouldn’t mind paying for it for a month or so (even if it was slightly more expensive /month), but for a whole year at once...I found it too much (especially that I have time to read now, but that won’t be the case in 2 months).

Maybe I’m missing something, but that was the only option that I found (apart from the one-time purchases that are rather expensive, especially considering that one chapter is only a few lines that one can read in ~2 min then would need to pay more for the rest)

So overall, the stories are entertaining, and if there was an option for monthly subscription (or longer chapters/reduced waiting time) it would be a great app.

Interesting idea but requires improvement

I’ve tried this app for the immersive aspects of it. The idea is interesting and the design is good. The stories are well written and quite interesting. However, the app itself is full of technical bags that make the user experience somewhat problematic. I tried three different stories and two of them got stuck and never loaded the next chapter once unlocked, despite numerous attempts to restart the app. You stuck on the black screen with progress line, only way is to shut down the app and re-enter it again. I tried reinstalling the app but to no avail. The technical help section doesn’t help, all it says is to reinstall the app and/or check the WiFi. I tried to purchase points for the third story but the tab with the purchasing options never loaded either. It feels a bit like a ‘Russian Roulette’ whether it’s going to work or not. I’d suggest a serious debugging work to make this app live up to its standard and expectations.

Things are starting to improve for the readers in this app. I feel that Galatea are starting to listen to their readers & changing things for the better.

Why I’m happy 1. You can gain points for referring a friend, leaving comments after you’ve read a chapter, following on tik tok, Facebook & Instagram.

2. I’ve recently seen their latest addition of rewards, which is read a chapter every day for a length of time & gain more points.

3. Plenty of books that cover various genres eg supernatural, romance, historical, bad boys, LGBT, YA & audiobooks (which I think is a new addition). 4. You used to be able to read free chapters every 24 hours; now you can read chapters with a shorter wait time.

Why I’m sad 1. Length of chapters are so short!! I know that this probably can’t be changed for existing stories, but Galatea could make these changes to the new stories.

2. You can always keep improving by offering rewards & one off offers for your readers.

3. Making wait times even shorter to read free chapters (but I’m also aware you want to try & make money).

My review would have changed from 4* to 4.5* but there are no half star options & I cannot give 5* yet as there are still areas in which the app could improve on.

But thanks for the changes you’ve made so far, it is appreciated.

Developers need to get to know their target audience.

The app is good. It has high potential due to the functionality BUT it is ridiculous that you have to wait 6 hours for ONE episode which you get through in 6 mins. It’s very unfortunate because a lot of readers (myself included) will give up on the app as a result of having to wait 6 months to finish 1 singular book on their app. The developers of this app need to understand their target audience as it is evident they do not. Tv junkies like to binge series episode after episode just as readers get into a state of imagination as they get entwined into a fictional world and want to read chapter after chapter; this state is ruined & disrupted when you have to wait 6 hours just to get another 5 mins and then again another 6 hours for another 5 mins. Ludicrous. At this point I will be sticking to episode or wattpad because for instance with episode, yes you have to get passes to read but you get 3-4 daily and have the choice to watch adverts to skip time which is only even then 3 hours & as with wattpad you simply watch a 30 second advert between chapters.

Addictive

I have had this app for a week now and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. There are a number of amazing stories to choose from with a variety of genres so there is a book to suit everyone's taste, all of which are addictive and exciting. My only criticism with this app is that the stories are cut down into chapters and you are only able to read one chapter a day unless you earn or buy points which can be used to purchase another chapter for you to read. Otherwise you are stuck waiting a ridiculous wait time which is frustrating as you are so intrigued to read on. Perhaps, the app would be a lot more popular if the wait time between chapters were half and hour or so or at most an two hours, opposed to having to wait until 7AM the following day to read a new chapter. However, all in all I do think this is a great new app for all those book lovers.

Highly Immersive !

This app creates a soft but powerful ambiance by using sound and colours to convey the characters emotions. This in turn creates a visual and hearing aid to understand the story which I believe is both creative and highly entertaining. I feel as if I’m almost watching a 5D movie instead of reading.

The only negative I would say this app could work on is the wait times for the chapters. When a story is as addictive as the ones on Galatea naturally a person wants to read on. I recommend shortening the wait times to around 5 hours or abolishing the waiting time altogether. By having to wait for the next chapter, this powerful and immersive ambiance that the writer had gifted us ( the readers ) is broken.

Overall, this app is superb and I highly recommend it. As readers you are not only entertained and excited but also submerged into the story by the intoxicating aura.

What a flawless piece!!

I think that there pieces are spontaneous and quite unpredictable each and every time I read each phase ,sentence and chapter has made me unable to phase it in just so simple common words of these books ,of what these chapters came make you feel it may just be an app but it would or should I say would help you discover a whole different vocabulary range of words or even give you a different approach . (It has for me and I will assure you this is No fib but the simple truth because I think that every penny i’ve spent has been worth just too ensure I see another chapter) . I think the stories in this app is incredible and I really understands the moods in everything such as the audio , the vibrations , and the dialogue it’s all just makes if more fun and intriguing to read making meee desire more and more of almost every bit of the day to read and wonder too what comes next. In conclusion I think that it’s an amazingly that has made mee flabbergasted about the books and the others yet too come.

Here’s to the future!

I’ve come across a few new reading apps now with this new points systems but I have to say this is by far the best. It’s paving the path for online reading in the future, all the interactive way us readers can be involved, the sensory overload of sound effects, music to match the mood, I love it! The only thing that bothers me is how extortionate the prices are just to carry on reading! With Kindle you can stream an entire book for £3 and be done with! Whereas this you need 10points to read a chapter & 40 points can be bought for £1.99 for example! So do the math, we’re paying per chapter which isn’t fair! Is there was an option just to buy the book with one price it’d be better! Yet they’re playing on an audiences need to carry on reading to make money from it! Bad form

Amazing

I honestly love the stories and it has me so embedded which is why I get so annoyed with waiting hours. I get the episodes are scheduled for people who are working but waiting for ages can be a hassle. As you can only read one chapter a day it gets quite annoying when a book has like 182 episodes or more and you know that it will take nearly 200 days for you just to finish one book. I get that’s why they have the point system but people should be awarded one point when they read an episode as this allows them to build up their points over time so then maybe one day they could skip the timer. I think awarding people a point each time they read an episode would also be a good way of keeping people engaged as they know that if they miss a day they won’t get that point. I also think that if you miss a day you shouldn’t be forced to not have that chapter and instead have another chapter unlocked. However I do really enjoy this app and the stories have me captive as I get really into it.

3 Things

First things first, I had an account on my old phone that broke, so I got a new phone. I tried logging into my old account and they say that there was no account under that name. So I had to create a new account on my new phone, which has started me all the to the beginning of every single book. On one of my books, I’d got to chapter 132. But I am now completely disinterested in this app. I’d read multiple of the books and was rather enjoying them.

Secondly, I purchased 40 twice because the first time I didn’t receive. Why? Because they scammed me of my money. The books are good and I tried to get to the next chapter, yet the 80 points were never delivered. Fix this now.

Finally, the wait time. Having to wait an entire 24 hours for a chapter of a book that usually lasts about three to five minutes (7-10 if we’re lucky) is pointless. There is nothing exciting about the cliffhanger being left for twenty four hours, it just makes the reader want to leave the app and find the story somewhere else. Shortening the wait time to even twelve hours would be better! Instead of just 7am, set it to every 7o’clock (7am and 7pm).

The stories are good and usually grammatically correct, and should actually be officially published because they are brilliant! But please fix these problems.

Love this app!!

So I downloaded this after seeing an advert and its become a part of my daily routine! Yes the chapters are quite short, buying points is expensive so it can be very annoying but it helps me control my reading so that instead of reading a book all in one sitting i can enjoy it through a long period of time and have something to look forward to every day. The music and sound effects are so good and realistic, they help you dive even deeper into novels and really experience it. I love how this is totally unique and makes reading a more enjoyable experience, this also makes the wait between new chapters more worth it since reading without the app wouldn’t be as good. The messaging feature is so cool! Hearing the text sounds is so realistic.

On the other hand I would definitely prefer this app if you could either read 2 chapters/episodes at a time or have each episode longer. I am for the whole waiting for chapters thing but I think having it a little less annoying would make me and a lot of others like the app more.

Great, but..

In all honesty I’m just doing this for 10 points but honestly I do love the books and story’s but the app needs a lot of work, firstly I’m in school and don’t have the money to pay out for tiny minuscule “episodes” every time I want to read a good book plus the time u have to wait is ridiculous u should change it to more Episode’s style were you have 4 passes, one for each chapter then have to wait 4hrs to get another 4 passes, each episode full length and about 30-40 mins long 1hr max and possibly 20 minimum, and have the option to watch a few ads to get a pass or buy more this way not only raising the standard and reviews but also more people will want to spend their money, now, people are just annoyed and promoting the app for a few ‘points’ Wattpad also has a better style and I’m not saying copy or completely change I’m just saying it would benefit more to make some adaptions also I am a big bookworm and usually read till 3am before sleeping and start around 8pm so if you could add the choice of a dark mode where the pages are black and the writing is white would also be amazing but all in all I would recommend it if some of these were changed.

Addictive App

I had never been one to read electronically. I’d always devour a hard back book to relax and divulge. I saw an ad for a story on this app and since then I’ve been hooked.

Yes only getting to read one chapter a day can be frustrating. But it’s taught me patience and perseverance. I am actually investing in to character development a lot more than if I was to binge read. Of course you can pay for points to unlock more chapters or earn them. At the end of the day they have a business to run. The support from the app is amazing and they go above and beyond to help you. They can be a little slow in replying but it’s understandable with how popular this app is. You can see for yourself with the Facebook group dedicated to it and you can chat to everyone - even the writers- about the stories that you have fallen for.

Right now I have to wait over 16h to read the next 5min chapter you need to either shorter the wait of put two chapters into one because at this point i either forget the storyline and what I have just read or forget to come back to read the next chapter. The app is great,and the story are even better but the only true let down is the wait . Not gonna lie but the wait is more agonising that the episode:choose your story apps wait and that is up to 4-5h for only three tickets so pls reconsider the system or give us more than one chapter a day I hope you consider this. This review is not hate I truly feel that you have a great app with only one big downside that might affect ratings in the future some people are not as patient as others...thank you

I’m mixed

On one hand it’s a good app on the other hand, the wait is so long. At first you read these amazing stories and you just wanna know more and more but you have to wait 15 hours only to read another short episode! I gave it a five because I don’t really mind the wait but it does get annoying A LOT. It’s overall a nice app but it has a few things that need tweaking. Like points, you have to comment something to get it that’s fine, but impatient people like myself we don’t wait. But I don’t buy anything either so I have to do requests I shared this app to a friend and I didn’t get ANYTHING I feel like the false advertising really really annoyed me and now I’m going to try new ways to get extra points. If your a person deciding whether to get this or not, I would recommend you do. Overall (like I said earlier) its a fun app and I enjoy reading from it!

Amazing but...

The app and the story is amazing and so intriguing that you just wanna read more and you are in the side of my seat in anticipation. However I would of gave it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the time you wait. They should say you have to wait till midnight because I wake up at half 6am and have to get ready for school and out by 7am so I don’t have time to read the newest episode but if it was wait till midnight, I can wake up a little earlier and read them which will be more convenient because all day I can’t concentrate on work and I can only think or imagine what will happen next in the story’s I am enticed into because I know that it is just waiting there ready for me to read but if I read it on the morning I know what would happen and it wouldn’t be so hard not to think about it during the day. Over all though the app is amazing and I would and have recommended it to everyone I know who are also bookworms like me!

Time is bad

Whenever I play it, it’s such a long wait for another episode, I would say shorten it at least because waiting until 7am every time you want another episode is ridiculous, but I know you want to keep people in their seats, and have them wait and not know what it is, if you could even just shorten it so we have to wait like 3 hours between episodes, so that’s still suspense, but that the reader can also enjoy a couple episodes a day, instead of only one, which for a reader myself, makes it very frustrating to wait a full day for another episode, so please if you could fix that, my review would then change to a 5 because this app is absolutely amazing, but to some stories there is so many episodes that you can complete a story is a quarter of a year, and I see a lot of people in the app say like “why is the wait sooooo long” and things like that, so if you could pay attention to that small detail about the time, then this would be the best app I’ve honestly ever had, and I’ve had hundreds of apps.
