Beware. No mention on the app description that this is a subscription service. You only get to evaluate the app for a few days then must pay an annual subscription for the service.

Everything you need and more!
First time of using the searchforsites app for a road trip around Spain. It came up with so many options catering for what needs you may required. Showed a number of traveler’s how we managed to find locations, and most of them instantly down loaded the app.
The my list feature is extremely useful for planning trips and the navigation selection is a great option.
Definitely our go to App.

Only free for three days ! After that you must pay via website, not through App Store. Surprised this is allowed by Apple, and if nothing else is a security concern and an inconvenience.

An excellent resource
We have been using S for S for many years and have always found it a great resource when we are out in our Motorhome. The link to Google maps is particularly useful. Users do have to be aware that it doesn’t inspect sites, it relies 100% on feedback from users. If you find a price has not been updated or a location is wrong, don’t just complain. Update the information.

Have been using search for sites for quite a while with paid version, we have tried to use it to plan our summer and winter touring, the app itself in great but the real issue is advertised prices.
You can not use it to plan a decent tour, when you come to book with the owner of the site you have found on the app , in nearly all cases the price is much higher than advertised and is not monitored by Search for Sites in any way. Some sites are more than double what search for sites say they are.
This is not good. You can not trust search for sites to have honest and accurate pricing information because they do not control it and the site owner can do what ever they want with the impunity of saying they don’t own search for sites.

Great App
Had the App for a couple of years now and used it regularly in England, Scotland and France. Really helpful App for travellers like us who don’t like to book to far ahead but would rather find somewhere when we’re driving through an area we find attractive. Found some awesome wild sites as well as commercial sites.

Good app for U.K.,
Have found it very useful. My gripe is writing a review. Or rather give the amount of stars. It takes ages to add whatever star you want to give a site. It should be easy, but it takes ages to add the star hence I do write many reviews on searchfor sites. Looking at the age of the reviews there are, I guess many just give up too.

Brilliantly useful App
Since buying the Moho 5 years ago, I’ve tried this App plus others like Park4Night. Without doubt this is far above the rest, it saved its original cost of £5.99 the very 1st time I used it, and it’s been on auto renewal ever since !

Top app. Took us around Europe
We had this recommended to us by a mate with a camper and it has proved invaluable. This app is a must if you like a bit of a European jaunt or just a Brit stop. We drove through France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland and didn’t book anywhere in advance, we just used the app to find our next stop. It is so easy to use, the map on the app is highly detailed and then the links to your maps apps takes you straight there.

Believe me this is by far the best search site in the business. I have about 5 other search Apps on my phone, but this is all you need. It is very user friendly and intuitive, I love it.

Invaluable when touring
I’m more than happy to pay for this app. I get really fed up with so called ‘free’ apps that bombard you with nuisance advertisements.
Since using it I have stayed on sites I wouldn’t have even known about in the past, despite being a motorhomer for over 20 years. I find the site reviews very helpful when route planning. They take most of the risk out of using less orthodox sites. I’ve had one or two bad experiences using private sites over the years, some of which I’ve taken one look and driven away. This app saves you all that trouble so thank you to the administrators and to the people who have taken the trouble to leave reviews.

I have paid for subscription but have been locked out of the app. No email is received when trying for password reset and I have received no confirmation by email when sending an enquiry. We Used this app for a few years now, love it. I've never had any issues, yes it needs updating every 2 weeks or less but that's not an issue, it's not a big update. £5.99 a year after a 3 day trial is money well spent.

Asks for a username - you give it one , it says “it’s non- alphanumeric, so you give it a non-alphanumeric username and it says…it has to be non-alphanumeric !!!! Gave up trying , luckily as it’s not free according to other reviews.

Very poor
I initially was impressed with this app but after about a month of subscribing it began to play up. It constantly goes into “syncing for markers” when opened then times out & goes to a blank black screen, can’t use it at all so a waste of the £6 subscription. Steer clear is my advice.

Please do something about the sync update
I use this app a lot. I also travel a lot, which means I often get forced to update the app - which takes ages and loads of data. If you are on a mobile network this costs money.
PLEASE: find a way to optimise the updates. It can’t be difficult to only the app data for a subset of the universe. Do I really to use my mobile data to get updates to locations 100’s of miles away?

Great app, but has niggles
I’m travelling around France right now, and have used Park4night app along with this one, which has some great spots to camp in my van. I’ve found at least four great places which I’ve tried to submit on my iPhone 8 Plus, however when I try to add photos the submission won’t save or let me proceed. It’s so annoying I’ve given up trying. Please fix this app so submissions are easy, like other apps

Good (pre tested)
I am about to go on my first solo trip to North Wales and was worried about finding somewhere to stop. This app gave me confidence that if something good doesn’t pop up, then I have some great options.
The app takes a couple of minutes to work out and if I paid a lot for it that might loose it a star. But as a free app it’s amazing.
Thank you to the developer and especially to all who have commented on sites - that really is the most valuable aspect.

I am paid up but went to change my password as my iPhone put the password on a list of compromised passwords and so I changed it but now am locked out. Done password reset and the password S4S has generated isn’t working. No answer from customer services so what on earth can I do now? Paid for something and unable to use!! Hopeless

Amazingly useful and highly recommend.
Had this App since 2019 and I’ve planned all my trip locations and park ups then save them in the Apps MY LISTS as tours. Norfolk, Scotland NC500, Isle of Skye and Arron, lake Windermere, Wales top to bottom, south west coast, Isle of Wight ++++ and l never pre book sites. Just towards to the end of each day I look up on the App for sites and off road park ups nearest to my location read the reviews and after 20,000+ miles touring around the UK I’ve always found a place to park up, mostly off grid and wild. I can honestly say when ever I stop and chat with other campers and always recommend this App and even show them how it works. I’ve also left honest reviews and pictures to this App to help others. Simple this App will pay for its self as it saves you from driving around in circles looking for places to stop. Just put the location into your SatNav and relax… Highly recommended.

Brilliant, a must for motorhomers, caravanners and campers, and a bargain at £6 per year. Easier to use than either of the 2 main club apps.
Concise info re facilities, v good maps, with normal & satellite view.
Allows you to make your own lists of any type you want - booked, visited, wish list, etc.
Reviews are generally very good and useful.
Haven’t used it in Europe but lots of sites shown.
Tip - sync regularly.

Everything in one place - how can you go wrong?
This is our go to app for finding sites. With the major clubs on as well non affiliated sites it gives us everything we need in one place. We find that the details and prices can sometimes be a bit out of date - but that is simply reliant on everyone providing feedback each time they find outdated information.

This app will pay for itself
This app pays for itself and is a must for motorhomes users. We have been using this app for a couple of years and have to says it’s brilliant, finding free and low cost stopovers with ease, even used it to find CS & CL sites. It’s easy to use, update or add new sites. The ability to use your preferred sat nav directly from it makes finding the chosen site a breeze. There is lots of site information from contact details to website, costs, photos etc. for lots of the sites which can be updated to help others. I downloaded it for a trial and within the week found a quiet overnight stop for free.

The best site finder app I have found
Like others I downloaded this app thinking it was free, but it allows you a trial period to test the functionality before asking you to subscribe for around £6 per year. Totally worth it as far as I am concerned. The vast number of campsites of every description, the information such as websites phone numbers and geographic location and finally the reviews and photographs from people who have actually stayed on the sites is so useful allowing you to plan your tours with a measure of confidence. As this app becomes more popular it can only improve as more people submit reviews and photographs. When you consider the work involved by the team who produce this the subscription cost is a bargain.

It is very slow all of a sudden
This app is very slow, I have just updated to os14 on iPad and iPhone, is this the reason, otherwise a really good source for campsites and other overnight stops.

Best purchase if the holiday
Great app with lots of information. We found this so useful as many campsites were fully booked due to covid restrictions. We also found the motorhome parking information excellent as we have an 8m motorhome and need to know places where we can park when visiting places. I would recommend this as an essential to anyone off on a camping/motorhome holiday. Cant wait to test it on european sites next year?!

This app made our holiday
We downloaded this app just before picking up a hire motorhome. We had been expecting to stay at campsites miles from anywhere, but using this app we found a series of great “wild camping” locations in Devon and Cornwall either directly next to a beach or estuary, or in the middle of a lovely village. Best £5.99 i’ve spent in a long time!

Good app - shame about the payment method
This app is extremely user friendly, but not happy about the method of subscription payment. This does not allow paypal, apple pay or payment via the app store so the only method is direct input of credit card details.

I do wish that developers would be more open about the cost of an app. The description does not mention “in-app purchases“ leading you to believe that this is free.
This is in fact a three day trial. After the trial period is over the cost is £5.99 per year. Payment must be made through the developers website and not through the Apple app shop meaning that you have to faff around with long card numbers, expiry dates and a CVV.
I don’t mind paying subscriptions but I don’t like being deceived.

I thought this was free - can’t contact for refund have not downloaded.
I was browsing the sites & apps and saw this one. Clicked on it, couldn’t find ANYWHERE the price or details of any monetary exchange- so guessed it must be a free app. I stopped the download before it got to 1/4 of the way while I was reading the reviews where others say about it being on subscription.
I’ve tried to find a contact/ support / info re cancelling this but there’s no access to real people - nothing to allow contact. Please cancel any subscription and or payment.

Excellent reliable app
I recently found this app and decided to use it for a couple of days to try it out and must say it performed perfectly well the info provided was up to date and excellent in all it stated and it looks as though it could be a really useful tool for me and my camper. I found two really useful wild campsites in Devon excellent for overnighting peaceful and quiet and FREE!!!!! Will be my constant companion from this day forth.

Very impressive app
We travel a lot around the UK and have just returned from a seven week trip to the Outer Hebrides. I used this app to plan our stays and it didn’t miss a beat. In my view its worth every penny. Easy clear maps, photos of the sites, reviews from users and good response from the author. What more can you ask for.

A Holiday Essential
Have just returned from a four week tour of France in our Motorhome. I now consider this our go to app when looking for somewhere to stay for the night. The up-to-date comments beat the always out of date books every time. I found other people’s comments so helpful that I have endeavour to post photos and comments of my own. An excellent application, well designed and executed.

Best app for Motorhomes
I’ve got most of the other apps that purport to support all your needs but this beats them all. Very intuitive and packed with loads of data on thousands of sites across Europe. Not experienced any technical issues on iPhone or iPad and just had some great travelling support in the uk. Used the website in Europe for the past few years and looking forward to using the app in France and Spain over the next few weeks. User submitted sites and reviews add accuracy. Forget the gripes about “intellectual property” by one reviewer. I choose to add sites and reviews that are my views, as do others. They are not someone else’s intellectual property. Great value app as well. I’m a fan

Brilliant 3 days but the link to pay subscription is missing
It’s not in Subscription Information. Where is it? How do I pay? When I got first notification after 3 days I wasn’t on WiFi, now I am o cant find that link to pay, nor can I find anything on the app, or on the info here. Please make it easier; this is frustrating

Fantastic
There are many websites and apps for Caravan/camper touring sites, parking places, pub stops, etc., and I’ve used them all but the Search for Sites website is my ‘go to’. Now there’s an app version that makes it so much easier whilst on the road and it’s brilliant. So easy to use and so many useful features. Huge well done to the developer.

This is just the best!
So easy to use..... pick the area you want to go on the map, then zoom in to find anything from a lay-by to a top notch site.
Make a choice, a drop down shows basic info, or click the drop down for all the details you’ll need, including grid ref, photos and reviews.

The website is fantastic but for use whilst we travel the new app is wonderful. It’s easy to use and with the zoom in feature and some of the extras such as lists it’s really helpful Being able to see some basic info on the reviewer and the type of van they drive is great when checking if a site is what we want. Search for sites
Probably the best app on the market for motorhome and caravan tourers. This app is so simple to use and, because it is so easy to review the sites, there is already a huge database of sites with relevant and up to date information.
I have used many and varied apps, websites and books to help tour Europe over a number of years and I’m now sure this will replace many of them.
It is simply fabulous.

Been looking forward to this app having found the website so helpful. Played with the app today and it appears to be as good as I hoped it would be. It will make motorhoming even easier and more enjoyable.

Great app
Loving this new app. I’ve already started a couple of personal lists, fancy it, and loved it. The ability to zoom in on the satellite image is fantastic, helps in planning journeys and overnight stays. You can reduce clutter by removing the categories of sites you’re not interested in. Fantastic!
