No value for money outside london
If you don’t live in London this is a complete waste of money. It’s been the same film for four weeks now my area. Before that, it was the same film for three weeks. Whereas they are not technically lying when a say ‘a hand-picked cinema ticket every single week’ it’s also not exactly being entirely honest either by failing to make clear it might be the same film for several weeks. There’s a big difference tickets for two films, vs tickets for two. I’m stuck with the annual membership and it’s so not worth it.

Great selection but one major issue
This app is fantastic value! With only paying an extra £7 a month and you receive the streaming subscription alongside a free movie ticket every week.
There’s one major issue! I live a hour away from my main cinema, in Bristol. I’ve had a few instances where I’ve travelled all the way to get there, only to scan the ticket and be told it’s sold out. I think a major benefit would be to add an optional online booking system! As I can’t tell if my film is going to be sold out or not by the time I’m there and that means a major waste of my time. However other than that, it’s a great service but there really needs to be more clarity on availability of ticket seats.

Best subscription service in the UK
Honestly, my favourite subscription. It’s such a steal for the value it gives. I’ve seen so many incredible movies on cinemas that I would’ve otherwise not even heard of. Plus you get streaming via MUBI. Just get this.

Same horror film two weeks in a row, only good for horror fans
At the moment I would not recommend MubiGo, I was really looking forward to a weekly cinema trip but have been disappointed by the fact my film has been the same horror film two weeks in a row… I am not a fan of horror and this week the film is only showing once a day, so even if I was a fan it would be hard to watch. It is not the Film of the Week and it does not all the cinemas it claims to have links to… it feels like MubiGo is bad value and misleading

I love Mubi and Mubi Go, but every few weeks I get frustrated with not knowing what the next movie is going to be! Why is Mubi against letting us actually plan for a fabulous night out at the cinema?
Come on, give us a list even if it’s just fortnightly.

Great idea let down by a glitchy app
I want to like MUBI GO but the app is glitchy to the point of being unusable. I’ll often have my qr up on my screen as I leave for the cinema, only to have that showing disappear by the time I’ve arrived (always in good time etc) - this means I then have to either return home or pay full price for a ticket. To add insult to injury, after paying for a ticket the cinema is only a quarter full eg. The showing wasn’t delisted for any reason.
In short, this is unusable, and I’ve only manage to use my ticket on one out of five cinema visits. I’d strongly urge caveat emptor on this one.

Nothing beats the cinema
I wanted a reason to get to the cinema more often and knowing I have a free ticket at my local independent is working.
TV is fine but sometimes those series just go on and on. There’s something really magical about a story told in around two hours. An event that can have a real effect on your life, a world visited, characters who feel like real people who’ll always be with you - in one sitting. It’s a truly beautiful art form and a trip to the cinema on your own is a special kind of indulgence. Feels like good therapy for me. And I occasionally invite a friend too.
Mubi’s selection of films to watch at home has brought me films I never would have seen otherwise and the rolling selection is a great antidote to the procrastination of so much “choice” on Netflix and the like.

I was really enjoying Mubi GO until June
Since June began at my local cinema the only film I can watch is Across the Spider-verse. I happily watched this on the first day, but expected a new film to appear next week. I was disappointed to see that ever since Spider-verse came into cinemas it has been the only option every week on the Mubi GO app for my four closest cinemas with the actual film of the week (which seem far more what I expected from Mubi) being almost 50 miles away. Unsure if this is Mubi or simply that my local cinemas, (which apparently don’t get many Mubi GO users come in) do not want to show the film of the week.

Doesn’t work with Amazon MUBI subscription
I’ve got a paid MUBI subscription thru Amazon Prime and MUBI emailed me to tell me about MUBI GO, but when I logged into the app and tried to get a MUBI GO ticket it says I need a paid subscription. Emailed support but no reply. I went to the cinema to see if they could work it out but in the end had to pay full price to see the movie. Doesn’t look like it works with MUBI subscription through Amazon. Or maybe the app is a bit buggy.
Whatever it is, it doesn’t work.

Same film every week.
Seems like a great idea and probably is if you live in the right place. Perhaps best to only get this if you live in Manchester/ London or know someone who is happy with the service in your local area. I live in Leicester and was super excited to start the service but the first weeks film was not available in my city. Okay never mind because the next weeks film was. Great! Well… it was great. But it has been the same ever since… not exactly what I was sold.

Good in theory
Only about one in four of the films picked are on at my local cinema so I’m basically paying £15 a month to watch one film at the cinema. I’ve persisted with it for quite a few months but just isn’t worthwhile. It would be good if an alternative was offered if the selected film isn’t screening. Maybe worth having if you live in London but otherwise it’s better just to buy a ticket.

Great if you live in London and can actually use Mubi Go for everyone else who knows. Frustration and disappointment I guess. I really liked it when I lived there but now I resent the complete absence of screenings near me and the new higher price.

It’s fantastic
I don’t like the everyday movies: Avengers or Star Wars for example, and I wish I could support Indy movies a lot more. This app is perfect for that. Every week you get the best independent movie released that week and usually in plush cinemas, so you’re going to have a good time. But not only that, you get mubi as well which is great for discovering cult gems of every genre. A wonderful movie experience for cinema fans; if you are one, a cinema fan, go for it!

I signed up because it looks like a great subscription of one free movie ticket a week plus access too their online films. Unfortunately Mubi and Mubi Go not working even though my subscription has been paid. I emailed them but haven't heard anything yet. Not cool.

Really good app and Mubi is great. One problem is when you click on a screening time and then you change your mind and click on another I think it thinks you have already used it. I had a problem where I accidentally did this and then the scan wouldn't work in the cinema.

Great value great films
I am very pleased with this app, with the year subscription you get a movie every week for free in a nominated cinema. The films are a good and a diverse selection and in my case the nominated cinema is close where I live. I don’t think you can ask for more if you like going to cinema. I will definitely renew this subscription for next year.

Movie tickets
A free weekly movie ticket is a great idea but the app doesn’t work very well. If the film is being shown in a particular cinema on a particular day but at various different times the app selects the latest showing time and won’t let you select an earlier one. Can you correct this? If so, I’d give you 4 stars (the app is a bit basic and lacking in features).

Latest update crashes constantly on iOS 12.4.1. Seems like MUBI didn’t test it at all. I’m now paying for a service I can’t use because the app doesn’t work.

Great idea - not great in Birmingham!
Would love to see a lot of the films and would be a great bonus to my MUBI subscription, and an incentive to keep it going, but the films are rarely shown at a cinema any closer than Nottingham! Always end up disappointed - especially the films I want to see the most.

Waste of money
This app promises to be a good purchase but in reality there is little choice of cinemas to see the one film each week, coming from someone living in London, which surely has the biggest choice. There is no option to book and I spent money and time to cross London after work to reach the only cinema showing the film, and there were no spaces left, which felt like a massive waste of time and money. If MUBI were upfront about the lack of showings and space, then I would understand. Consider the fact you probably won’t be able to use the app for a ticket each week.

Scam: misrepresentation of service cover
It says my local Vue is taking part in MUBI Go. I signed up and paid based on this. The first time I go to use it it says that the nearest cinema showing their weekly film is 1.5-2 hours by public transport or over an hour by car.

Do not subscribe unless living in London
It’s a huge shame that for the past two months my local participating cinema has not shown a single film that MUBI Go is screening. The programming is clearly done with a London audience in mind. I live in Cambridge and the only cinema showing these films - the Picturehouse - does not participate. I asked for a refund for the two months I subscribed and was refused.

All I can ask for is the demand not to rise too high where the free ticket system would eventually not be feasible to run or the subscription price would skyrocket. That would be a sad day.

Would be great to get more cinemas outside of London: in particular at least one in Sussex - Brighton and hove! (The picture house cinemas, or Attenborough centre would love to get involved I’m sure!)

Poor customer service
It appears that I have two subscriptions, one which I have paid for and a free one via Scibd. Only the paid for subscription will allow access to MUBI Go. Both subscriptions are associated with my Apple account. Despite asking customer service to remove the free scribd subscription, they have failed to do so.
Advice, shock that you have no other email or subscriptions before subscribing as making changes later via their email support is slow and not particularly effective.

Great excuse to see new films
Such a great idea. I was bored on a Monday night and saw that they were showing ‘Dogman’ in an hour in my local cinema. I’m so glad I went as it’s not something I would usually see and it’s probably the best film I’ve seen all year. Plus the app worked a treat when I got there.

Fantastic new service from MUBI. For a version 1 app it’s works well and the search feature that’s promised will be a welcome addition.
I’m lucky that my local indie cinema is participating and I went to my first free screening last week. Super easy and I’m looking forward to more MUBI nights out. Great value with the included streaming service too. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unfair membership restriction
When I saw this app, I was delighted but once I got it and logged on, I was not able to book a ticket. It says I need to be a paying subscriber to be able to use the service. I find that discriminatory as I pay my university as part of my degree to be provided with a MUBI subscription! It is unfair to say I cannot use this service because I am not a "paying member". I hope this comes to the attention of MUBI and there is logical reasoning.
P.s when I check my subscription, it says I have a VIP account?

The idea is excellent but no cinema offered in my area of Southampton so some MUBI members benefit and the rest don’t, not good! How about the app letting members know where the nearest participating cinema is located rather than “none in your area”, we could at least then decide if we want to travel...

Amazing
Truly brilliant. 4 cinema tickets a month (plus choice of 30 different films to stream/download on the app) for £7.99 is just heaven for film lovers and amazing value. Claimed my first ticket last week and it was really easy. Love the fact that it’s a curated programme with a new film every week, helps you to see loads of things you might otherwise miss. I’m hoping the films will be chosen for excellence and artistic merit (in any genre), and if the curation of Mubi’s Video on Demand selection is anything to go by, there is reason to think this will be the case.

This really didn’t need to be a separate app...
This is a wonderful initiative which I appreciate and fully intend to utilise... but why couldn’t this functionality have simply been built into the existing app rather than being wholly separate...?
The shortcut within MUBI proper is nice, but this feature requiring a(n extremely simplistic) whole other app is needless and wasteful.
Odd decision.
