Horrible app

Another app trying to get subscription fees but without providing any real benefit.

Sadly the apps they have made over the years are all trash.

We have been waiting years for a better app for the 560 Dumbbells - and JRNY was supposed to be the replacement for the old crap app. But Blowflex have actually managed to make an even worse app than the old select tech app. Incredible. And the 560 dumbbells are not even selectable.

I guess all the positive markings on the reviews are all paid for as it seems very few of the written reviews are positive in the slightest.

Beginner

Just bought a Schwinn IC8. App paired easily. Easy to set up and follow workouts. This is my first exercise bike and this is the first app I’ve used. So far I don’t see me having to try any other app.

Apple update 15.4

Since this Apple update, videos freeze. The time countdown continues but over a 30 minute video there were 7 freezes, some as long as 3 minutes.

Rubbish

*Edit* Finally got past the fitness test (having missed out on my free two month trial due to the issues), used the app once, updated it, now doesn’t work again. Brilliant.

Can’t even get past the fitness assessment to actually start using the app. Disappointing as this is my first experience of a spin bike/app combo.

Poor interactive functionality

Would love to love this app, but compared to zwift and team apps etc this is just a bunch of videos. The workouts don’t react to your fitness even though it claims it learns

It’s clichy on calories “a 1000 in less than 30 minutes”

Max is great - but please partner or improve the team

Oh and stats have no trending of any real use

Bowflex Max 8 App

Absolutely brilliant machine let down by the JRNY app that goes with it. You have to complete the fitness assessment at the start of every workout if you want to use the app. Workouts that are free on the machine itself are not without hinderance on the app which basically annoy you until you purchase the additional workouts on the app. If workouts are freely available on the machine this should surely be mirrored on the app.

Also not all the workouts on the app sync to your Apple health app. If you cancel the workout prior to completion it registers but if you complete the workout fully it does not.

Definitely room for improvement.

Just awesome

Bowflex tailors each workout to my ability. I use settings 10 custom interval 16mins. I’m tired and sweaty at then of every workout but it’s worth every penny. I have Amazon 90’s dance music on in the background. Bowflex radio is okay but there’s not of choice in the UK. I love to hate it 😄 Ditch the gym and stick with this Bowflex M6.

Waste of Money

After the free 2 months trial of the premium we had a few weeks of just the free version. On the free version the 14 minute interval never progressed like it’s supposed to do even with daily use and became boring so we paid for premium. The premium version has a few glitches like saying ‘that’s your longest workout ever’ or ‘the most calories you’ve ever burned’ when you are nowhere near the levels you’ve previously hit. The final straw was after about 6 weeks into a yearly subscription it said we no longer had the premium subscription and despite contacting Bowflex and all its subsidiaries we never got a response. Contacted Apple who gave us a full refund.

I think it’s fair to say, considering I had loads of problems with my Max Trainer (which was eventually replaced) and then issues with this App, that although Bowflex sell their products in Europe they offer no assistance to anybody outside of USA or Canada.

Just bought a Max 6 so early days but so far it’s great and the whole family are involved. Max cross trainer is great product. Were also testing out the JRNY app on a free trial and feeling the benefits already just a shame it’s limited to only 2 users considering the cost of an M6.

Max 6 trainer

The max 6 trainer is excellent! Let down by an app that sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Given a few minutes it will often connect, just stand waiting by the machine for the app to work for between 2 and 5 minutes.

The basics are good and like the videos but puzzled why it’s not designed to sync to health app? would understand if it had similar features but it doesn’t, also struggling to sync with my fitness pal and can’t find info

Disappointing

Had terrible trouble setting up a second user profile. 4 verification codes sent to us, none worked. After that we was left with 2 profiles that were left half set up but impossible to verify. We then changed from the 2-months free offer to a fully paid subscription. Following that, we managed to set up a second profile, but lo and behold, a request for another £139.99 is requested to allow the second user to use the app. If I could give it no stars, I would. I have contacted Bowflex as I can see nothing, anywhere stating that each additional user has to pay. If this is the case, then it is nigh on £450 a year for a family of 4 to use the app . It states that family sharing is available, but does not apply to in app purchases. Steer clear it is a rip off 6 family members can share at a cost of £839.94 ....

Clarification needed on family sharing re. premium features

We just bought a max M8 machine which in itself cost a lot of money. We have 4 users in our household. Are we supposed to pay £135 EACH per year to use the AI features ? Or can we share one subscription using Apple family sharing ? I might pay for one subscription but there is zero chance of me paying for 4 ...
