Too many bots!
I’ve really been enjoying this app but it’s changed. When white opens with Na3 you know that you are playing against “AI” with the intelligence of a 3 year old! The developers say 95% of the time you’re match to a human. Not true. They are more interested in their advertising revenue. Avoid this app if you actually want to play chess 🙁

1 minute to move... or you lose
It’s great when you’re playing Blitz and after a good amount of your time has been spent engaged in a good game... the screen freezes. And you end up losing because the time expires. Even better when it’s against somebody you were clearly on your way to beating. I’ve lost too many games this way. It’s super annoying. Shame.
Edit: I returned to the app as a friend uses it and we like to play the occasional game. All was ok and then lo and behold, it just started freezing again. Absolutely done with it. Waste of time. AVOID.

Great little app, but NOT worth £50/year
This is a great little app, but sadly it seems to be a Chess app that is designed to make money for the developers. The subscription cost is utterly ludicrous. For that amount of money a year you could get a professional membership to chess.com website, where you can get a far richer experience. This app is just about playable if you can bear the continual adverts… Which is a bugbear of mine these days, as many apps are absolutely crippled by adverts, almost beating you into paying to get rid of them.
Great if you’re a reasonable beginner and looking for a little bit of fun. If you are a bit more serious about chess, then chess.com or lichess.com are far far better, the latter being completely free!

I haven’t played for 2 years, I played 4 quick games and won easily, not sure what to do next, and I don’t want to pay. I like it being Free and I am fairly new to the electronic world of the iPad, but I do love chess and I miss playing.

Fix the puzzles!
Some of the puzzles have mutiple ways to solve yet only one way is accepted. This is very frustrating when the “wrong” one is picked. Please either allow for multiple solutions to be entered, or if that’s too difficult at least allow us to submit our alternative solutions for review so that it fixes it for the next person.

This is a very good game, the only issue I have is that some higher ranking players play in the lower leagues. There is no glory being top rank of the London league if you are an advanced level....

Win streak
I am good at chess and I was on a win streak ,this app kept deciding to take away my coins when ever I checkmate someone. Saying “something went wrong”.
After this I’d loose my coins and it would void the match.
I want my coins back please and for it to stop voiding my matches!.

Cheats
Been playing this a while now and found there are to many people cheating on it. They will play till they have taken more pieces than you and then not make any more moves. Then the timer runs out then you lose. You have no chance of winning or getting your rating up. Game is now deleted.

If you want a game of chess this probably isn’t the app for you. Yes chess is somewhere in there but you need to watch ads to collect coins to find a game then an ad when it finishes. The puzzles are rubbish and make no sense.

Nonsense
Just started it, fourth game in, it totally froze on me, clock kept going so it wasn’t my iPad. Lost through timing out!, plus the maze of stuff you have to wade through all trying to sell me something before I get to play a game is putting me off.
Could do with better instructions on how to navigate through the various game choices, I’m bamboozled.
I’ll give it another week, then I’ll be off somewhere else.

Great but puzzles
Loving the game but I’ve had a few puzzles now that clearly show that you can’t win them in differing ways. I had a puzzle where I had two rooks, both able to take a knight, that if taken, would expose the king and result in me winning the puzzle as it was pinned to the side of the board. Well it shouldn’t have mattered which rook took the knight to cause checkmate as my king was in a position which didn’t allow their king to move, but it said one of the rook moves was wrong, even though both of them 100% lead to a checkmate. It’s just annoying when you make moves that are 100% going to win you the game, and you lose a life anyway because it wasn’t the intended way to win.

Hit and miss when you can use it connection so weak. Sometimes you play a robot sometimes a real person you get to know. Not for a serious chess player but it does provide some form of entertainment.

Really enjoyable
I like this app! I think it would improve if 2 things were added, hopefully this comment will make it to the developer attention;
1.) On blitz mode, allow the other person to choose whether or not to add 30s of time if their opponents has run out.
2.) Add a real time and a step by step replay option for a few recent matchups, this would be amazing for analysing mistakes that I’ve made during a game.
This has gotten me back into chess and I’m gonn just seen some areas for improvement from my experience.

Worst chess app ever
Full of adverts and every game is against a bot pretending to be a human opponent. Played 5 games, every game black played the scandi against e4. Exact same line and they all blundered the Queen on move 6. Do not waste your time.

Started to do the puzzles only to find out they don’t want a solution to the problem they want you to do what they want you to do, isn’t worth wasting your time with it you want something to actually get your brain to work.
