Word of warning
The app itself is fine, but I was really interested in the AI avatars. Yes, these can be done in many apps now (and even yourself at home) but tried them here. My first 2 runs were really good at £6 per batch. My 3rd run was awful - out of 50 pictures hardly any had changed or poor quality. I thought emailing support would get a refund or the ability to do another run. Apparently not - automated response pretty much saying tough luck, that’s AI for you. So spend your £6 but if it fails, it fails. Also, I’m a fully paid Pro me member of the app but apparently that counts for nothing also!

It’s a moneymaking scam. Not accurate and not user friendly. You end up for paying for items that you don’t like so can’t use. I would like a refund on the packages that I don’t want. They look nothing like me.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like the app and I used to pay to have unlimited access to it, but I do much less editing on it now, so three photos a day was a perfect solution for me, if it was three photos A DAY. Unfortunately sometimes you need to wait way longer for that, it’s like you’re pushing your former subscribers to subscribe again and for that reason I’m giving you one star. A little update: somebody is getting really stingy now, you can upload one (yes you heard me correctly ONE!!!) edited photo per day! You’re having a laugh!!!

I took 7 day trial! They took almost 40 GBP BEFORE the 7th day was over!!!! Give my money back!!! Disgusting! First time so thieving app You took the money during the 7th day. Strictly saying though I didnt even get the 1st day as I have bought it at the end of the day! But the money was grabbed around 1pm of the 7th day -not even waiting until the end of the day. All apps always gave free 7 days trials INCLUSIVE of all SEVEN days. So, the money would be taken only as soon as the 8th day started . So, I had from 12.03-19.03 INCLUSIVE of all days. Or so I assumed. Yet the money was taken DURING the trial, during the 19th March. Not on the 8th day. I didnt have full 12th and the money was taken at 1pm ish on the 19th so not giving me full 7th day either. As I bought it at 8pm so it should last at least until 8pm. This is NOT OK. Sort it out. As it really has affected my opinion about you.

This app is ok but you have to pay for pretty much everything. There are still a lot of features like hair colour changing, removing background, face change (remove dots/pimples lip, eye and eyebrows) and other features. So it’s a good app for people that are starting to edit their pictures.

Charged without consent
I signed up for the free trail which isn’t really free as we still have to pay for any images generated before and thereafter you need to pay a year subscription plus any images you would like to generate! I canceled this within the trail period but was still charged. I contacted customer support but received a message saying they would reply within 2-3 days. 2-3 weeks later I’m still waiting for a reply. The App is great yet expensive long term but their mode of operation and customer support needs a lot of work.

Obviously downloaded for a bit of fun with the Avatars. Didn’t mention paying until after you have submitted all photos but had no problem and expected to pay. Oh dear god… the avatars were awful! There are maybe 2 out of 100 that you’d consider look similar to me. They warn of occasional artefacts (weird discrepancies like an extra arm/eye), but I had a huge amount of images with these artefacts. I don’t often leave a poor review, but save the £7 and buy yourself a Macca’s.

Absolute utter garbage, massively overpriced for what it is based on the results, you may get 1 or 2 half decent results out of 100. Simply save yourself time, money and disappointment by taking your photos and adding effects/filters on free editing apps.

First time was great, second time was poor
It’s hard to no what to score the app but this is specifically relating to the Avatar results.
The first set that I ran turned out great. Many great images that had a real likeness across most of the categories.
The second time I ran a set, the results were much worse. Barely any of them had any likeness to me despite the fact that the majority of the selfies I used were the same as the ones used with the first set.
My wife also tried the system recently but it returned less than good results as the majority looked nothing like her either. It feels like something has changed with the system and it’s not performing as well as it did the first time round.
It’s now put me off using it again as I’m not willing to waste money when there’s no guarantee on the image quality.

Takes your money and doesn’t provide service
Love the premise of AI generating images, but it would be nice if the app actually did it. Paid for the service, but nothing happened… That’s not my biggest issue though. The biggest problem is there is no way to get in touch with a support team, as there is no option to do so in app. And when you want to report the issue, it takes to the FAQ page where to option “My issue is not in the list” doesn’t even work… So. I would either like my money back, or the service be provided.
Update Dec 2022: it’s been a month, multiple emails to support and still no service provided. They do take your money though.

I deleted 42 out of 110 generated images but I have to admit that some of those I left are really good and I defo gonna use them. I guess is about the quality of the photos we upload and mine were low pixels and not very different facial expressions

Disappointed
First pack was okay. I had quite a few glitched, weird looking photos and some that looked nothing like me, but there was a handful that I did like.
Second pack was terrible!! Not only did it turn me FEMALE (yes, I chose the male option) but none of them look like me and half of them are just cartoon images.. anime, etc. I’ve even received one of a tiny little Santa. Not me! 90% of them aren’t me. The other 10% are female! I wish you could request for them to be redone before saving, because I’m gutted. Or a refund.

Save your money for a real artist!
Thought I’d give it a go and see what all the fuss was about, but there are so many botched pictures where the face was all out of proportion, some where the face wasn’t even visible, and some where the face looked nothing like me at all. I understand the attraction of cheap fun pictures, and some did look pretty cool but I think for the money and what you get, you’re better off saving to go to a real artist!

I’m mixed Asian and it’s really miss represented my ethnicity. It’s made me incredibly Asian. Way more Asian looking than I actually am. Guess this has something to do with the AI training model.
Not to mention the app is stealing lots of work from artist without their permission. Search up Lensa stealing art before purchasing anything from them.
Not worth the money, as maybe 1 out of a hundred looks vaguely like yourself. Wait a couple of years and wait for the technology to mature before trying it.

Used this before learning they take artists work to train the AI without permission and some images even still have the artists signature (mine did!)
Basically the AI is just copying peoples art without them consenting to it and there’s just more ethical ways of getting art
Lots of independent artists on Instagram alone that you can support and I know not everyone has loads of money to spend, but so many are students just starting out but are still amazing or like I’ve had super cute portraits done by people from different countries, so they exchange rate worked in my favour and I could actually afford go tip them.
Just consider shopping around before using this thieving app for art please 💕

Do not touch this app. Is a massive con. First they will attempt to sign you up for a one year subscription. Then you will need to pay extra for the avatar packs. The payment for the avatar packs do not go through and you will 1. Not receive the pictures you’ve paid for and 2. Will not receive a refund from Apple as it is not eligible. Regret downloading the app and having wasted over £10 (as was charged three times for the avatar packs).

Magic avatars can’t be tested before purchasing
This app is a complete rip-off! Not even one free magic avatar? No way to test the algorithm before being forced into a subscription? Common app developers, you can't just sell to people a cat in a bag. Avoid this app at all costs! *1 star*. CPU power is expensive but there are lots of competitors that offer trials! You don’t have a monopoly on machine learning, text to image AIs or stable decision. You need to show people that your algorithm and delivery method works before charging. Peoples vanity is greedy so they will subscribe if generator produces amazing results. But first give people a chance to try!!!

Poorly cropped images
After seeing the craze for AI portraits on social media I thought I’d risk a fiver on the basic set of avatars.
The results were incredibly hit and miss.
My main issue is that some of the decent looking creations were cropped badly, cutting the top half of my head off.
There was also a nice border on some of the photos that was cropped off at the top or bottom giving me the impression that the images the AI created may be larger but the app then crops them off to fit a specific size?
Out of the 50 if say maybe 5-6 where very good, the rest were either poor or very badly cropped.

Pretty fun! Needs more package options for AI
I really enjoyed using the magic portraits. Although quite a lot looked nothing like me, there were enough that did to make it just about worth it. But for some themes there wasn’t even one piece in 20 that was recognisably me. Other themes had several. It would be great if you could choose a package of just one or two themes. Customise your package.
Also I wouldn’t pay for the subscription PLUS then pay for the magic portraits on top of that. These need to be available seperate to subscription for me to ever try again.
That said I can see myself doing so if the above were options!

I only downloaded this to try the magic avatar thing and I uploaded the photos only to find out you must pay and there’s no free option, not even a ‘here’s 5 free avatars to show you for free but you have to pay if you want more’ why on earth would I pay for something I can’t even try out and see how it works?
Make a free trial option that actually lets you test these features. No one want to pay for some dodgy photo app just to see what it creates, which might end up very poor anyway with bad results.
Only losers will pay for this.

Not all of them, but 8/10. The only thing that bothers me is that i couldn't find how to download all images to my photo gallery, save button only saves to lensa gallery. You need to swipe through all the images and save them one by one.

Took my money
I wanted to do the avatar feature where you upload 20 photos, I did it and filled out the info to pay the money for it and it said it would take 20 mins or so for my photos to be ready. I clicked the button that said to notify me when they’re ready, but here I am the next morning and there’s still nothing. And when I go to the app there’s no way to show I’ve even paid for that feature. So it’s taken my money and not given me the photos, incredibly disappointed and annoyed.

No free option, “Trial” is a lie
Just a heads up so nobody else wastes 7 minutes downloading the app, signing in with a burner email address, uploading photos of Keanu Reeves as you don’t trust their sloppy Privacy Policy and just want to see the results… you know the kind of thing you do in what’s commonly referred to as a “trial”. As there is no free option.
God knows what the free trial actually grants you.
You upload 20 swiftly downloaded photos of Mr Reeves and it then asks, during your “week-long free trial” to pay £6 onwards to render the fewest images.
I deleted my photos, then account and have developed an instant distrust of any software made by anyone involved with this.
I imagine it’s a success for them given the rating. It’s just very weird of them to charge a monthly fee AND an image processing fee. For the same price you might as well commission a random artist found on your social media platform of choice. At least then you’re getting a genuine one off image and not one of those (which I’m investigating hence downloading this app) fraudulent AI image services that uses copyrighted artists work in its bank of jigsaw pieces they use to make said image.
So yeah pro tip: you want an AI image, even just one to see how it works/looks? That’ll be five quid please in this current micro era where people cant afford to eat. It’s so daft to charge so much for so little.

The pictures are incredible but a couple of annoying points, you don’t know it’s £6.99 until after you’ve chosen your photos from your album, make sure you only choose single photos of yourself.
Of the 100 produced, 20+ were wearing a full face helmet so nothing to do with me at all.
The good ones are great though!

Not good at all!! Takes money and doesn’t provide the service
Okay so the first time I done this the payment went through and then I had to wait for the photos to develop which was fine. However when I tried a further three times to select different photos and paid the monies I did not get the same outcome?!? Just takes your money and stays at the checkout option which isn’t okay at all. I expect to be refunded asap.

Scam app
Scam app, i deleted imediately. I hope this scammers did not managed to get too much data from my phone. I don't trust them, they failed to deliver the trial for me.
When you download the app they say they give you 1 week trial and after you have to pay 40 pounds per year. Once you open the app they ask you to upload 10 photos and the purpose for doing that is to get your avatars included in this one week trial. They wasted my time because at the end of the upload they asked for more money to give me the avatars. What's the trial week for if you ask me for money? Big fail!

Great fun
Not had so much time on the app but so far I’m really enjoying being creative with all the weird and wonderful, easy to use tools. I’m not really into fancy selfies but I like composing funky pictures on me travels/toilet n this is great for that. So far I’ve just tried the free bits and there’s enough there to have fun with but plenty to tempt you in if you want more.

Poor app.
I downloaded this app because I discovered you can make cartoons with your face on it. After I pasted my face onto the app, I was prompted to purchase the app so that I could unlock the feature as it was restricted.
After paying, the images took very long to compress and suddenly the feature was unavailable for a couple of hours.
I waited until the next day to try again, the feature seems to be available again but the app cannot restore my previous purchase and tells me I must pay again.
Very annoyed as I have to contact apple to issue a faulty refund!!! I want to speak to customer support about it but the lensea doesn’t even have a contact us page on their app!!!!
Only solution left is to leave a review!

Free trial you have to pay for avatars.
Don’t offer me a free trial and then tell me I have to pay for the avatars, that’s literally antithetical to what a free trial is. Guess I won’t be using this, I’m not spending money on something when I can’t verify the quality of the product before hand. Maybe offer people a low resolution sample of the avatars is they don’t want to pay, but don’t expect people to pay when presented with a free trial. What a scam.
No surprise it’s by Prisma under a different name. This has been reported to the Apple Store and if it isn’t remedied by them then there will be contact made to the trading standards commission.

Don’t waste money on magic avatars
The free cartoon filter was great. Brilliant results and will use again. Even if I only get 3 a day.
However, the paid for AI produced ‘magic avatars’ were honestly awful. My eyes were different shapes on different parts of my face. Never ventured correctly with the rest of the bodies. The whole things didn’t line up with the photos they created.
I wish I could attach a photo so you can see yourself before you pay too.
I will keep the app for the free editing features as they’re great and I can’t fault them.
However, I feel bad about spending £3.50 on 50 photos (all of which are unusable due to the face not being centred correctly)
I assume it’s to do with the photos that were selected to be created, but I followed their steps and they still turned out awful.

Tricked into paying for avatar feature
I understand you need to monetise the AI avatar feature, but as a user I did not appreciate the paywall that appeared after I’ve already subscribed and uploaded my photos.
You gotta let users know it is a paid feature upfront. Gave me an unpleasant user experience and possibly put me off of using your app in the future.

Tricked me into training their AI for free
I was interested to try the magic avatar feature, so followed the instructions and uploaded photos of myself. I was aware that these would also be used to train their AI, but I thought it was worth it to see what it could generate.
It uploaded my photos, and only once it was finished doing so did it tell me I needed to pay to get the avatars. I don’t want to actually spend money for this, but it’s too late to not upload my photos. It seems to me that the developers have deliberately left it until after you’ve uploaded photos before they tell you there’s a charge so that they can train their AI with many more photos than they would have received otherwise. It’s underhanded.

A photo app with a difference ?
This app really has something different about it, it works seamlessly and without issues. I would have carried on using it and given it five stars but, they have now introduced a new feature called avatars. You may wonder what this means, well when you pay a yearly subscription for unlimited access to everything and then they now want to charge you extra for a new feature it doesn’t sit right with me sorry. Before I used to recommend this app across to friends and on my social networks now I’ll do the opposite, i understand you need to raise money for development but you can’t charge for something called unlimited access to the entire suit, then subsequently add a new feature and try to charge extra for it. Surely you’d be better off including it in the people’s access that have already paid you, and allowing the free users to try it before they subscribe so it would encourage them to sign up to the full suite. A sad ending to an app I thought was different.

Useful for a pro too
Technology is now at a point where this kinda app and particularly Lensa is totally useable for certain editing tasks. Subtle use of the effects can help me to be more creative alongside my usual workflow. Maybe adding the ability to refine the background removal mask would be great. And oh ability to save presets 😊

Useless or faulty
Downloaded app. Said 3 free photos day. Fair enough want to try out before purchasing as sone many on market.
However….. each time I tried to upload photo of my dog it said oops something went wrong check internet and try again, I did …. same thing happened after third attempt of failing I tried again from different part house and it said I’ve used up my free 3 photo edits - not even managed to open any photo in app !! Glad I wasnt tempted to subscribe.

Just one suggestion…
I love this app! You cannot go wrong using this, it’s so user friendly, easy to use and does the job amazingly. My ONLY issue is that the latest update doesn’t incorporate the ability to open a photo straight from ‘photos’ anymore like it used to. On iPhone for instance, you used to be able to select a photo and open that photo in Lensa from options as opposed to going onto the Lensa app and adding photos manually this way, as sometimes it’s difficult to navigate through thousands of photos. I would love this feature to be added back in as I literally did it this way every time I edited a photo.
This has now been fixed with the new version. It’s soo much better. Thank you :)

Doesn’t load
First of all since last update it wouldn’t load. This is now sorted but I now don’t get the 3 free photos per day, it’s just says ‘0 left’ but I haven’t used any for over a week. it’s very frustrating as this app used to be brilliant 😫 Update: thank you for your response. I’ve logged back in today and it’s now showing as 6 photos left. Thank you did your help 😀

Not working
This app was good when I was using and suddenly stopped. Is very frustrating when you pay for a service or product that doesn’t work, I’m using this app to help to edit my pictures for someone else business and for personal purposes as well.
Please check what is the issue and fix as I’m loosing time for the services For not using the app.
For whom is looking for a good app,that good be one of it but with issues like that will not worth it.

Stumbled across this and does exactly what I needed to. Perfect for blurring backgrounds, and much much more. Declined the subscription straight away just to test it as I’m always skeptical, but will now subscribe for sure. Well done developers. Worth paying for. Thank you.

Not only does it work but should be complimented for business model
The app is great. There’s tons of other reviews that tell you the same thing. What Lensa should be complimented for is offering a pricing model unlike most of its competitors who drag you in under the idea of being free but to do anything remotely good you have to pay to do. Lensa allows you to edit 3 photos a day. For free. With no watermarks and all the key features you need. Need to do more quickly. Buy a weekly pass that’s competitively priced (don’t forget to cancel) want to pay yearly then there’s options for that too and often has discounts available if you’re patient enough to wait. The app is successful because it works, people can see it works before paying for unlimited access and has a pricing model most people can get on board with. Competitors this is how it’s done. Well done Lensa.

Easy to use
This is the best retouch app I have found yet, it’s easy to use, all the sliders are easily and qu’il y accessible at the bottom with it having to click in and out of different tools and the effect looks very natural, I don’t like apps that distort my features too much xx

Amazing
I have found the easiest app to use and edit my pictures. I would not change it for any other app at the moment.
However it constantly shows an error and the app switches off. Maybe needs updating but after paying for it we expect it to work at all the times and sometimes is hard.

If you have taken a bad photo or you are bad at taking photos you are made for Lensa 👍I highly recommend this app I almost 😅 spent a whole day on it until my mum came and said I have to go bed but I did stay on from 8 o’clock in the morning to to 6 o’clock in the friking morning 👌if you get bored very easily you need to get this app and it is free trail so if you like it you can give a bit of 💴

I have spent HOURS on individual photos over the past few years for work and this app just does it perfectly with the click of one button. I’m gobsmacked 🙈

Not worth the money
I subscribed for the first year because, in theory, this app could be great and the first photos I used it on worked great but there are SOOOOOO many where it can't detect faces in photos (faces snapseed, for example, would spot straight away) immediately rendering most of it's features it completely useless. Better to do it all manually than be constantly disappointed on photos that clearly contain faces. What's the point in an app that has a really poor capacity to read photos for the one thing that makes most of it features worth anything? Unless that improves I won't be renewing my subscription

Nothing special for the money
surprised it can’t isolate anything but human faces from background. And like every other ‘cut from background’ it’s not great with hair and lower contrast areas hence us ok with small images but look closer and it’s pretty poor except with the easiest of tasks. Also expensive. I got annual subscription by accident like others on here. Feels misleading. Aside from this it’s quick, and the facial / lens corrections are good and subtle. Hope for better things going forward only I definitely won’t renew.

I don’t understand how some people could even rate this app!! It has never detect any faces from any photo that you add. Very rare!
You pay for nothing useful . Please before payment try it for few times , I am sure you will not buy it.
