Too many ads
I’ve been playing this game for years now but just recently the number of ads has increased massively. Literally 10 taps on from the last one and another one appears. I understand the reason for them but I’m getting 10 or more for each picture and it’s too many. Sadly will be deleting and finding another colouring app.

Returned to this app recently but found it very frustrating, I do understand the need for adds , but not ones that don’t stop and lock up the app , I had one particular one that I had to close down the app and reset to compleat pictures, so no alternative than to delete the app and it data

Too many ads
I have been using this app for years loved everything about it but recently the amount of ads coming up are ridiculous, I appreciate ads are needed in order to allow the app for free but the amount and the length of each one is awful and totally spoils what was a great app. I’m afraid to say probably won’t continue using it.

Well I’ve continued but had enough of these very annoying ads which last for ever, will now delete the app and look at others, I would rather pay for an app than put up with these ads.

Frustrating in a different way
I had a long break from this app. I used to find it very relaxing but then, after one particular update, any picture you had started reset itself if you didn’t complete in one session! Further updates didn’t solve the problem, which was highly frustrating, so I felt a break was in order. I have recently returned to the app and, phew, the resetting problem has been solved. However, now there’s another frustrating problem. The ads. Because they now break in when you’re in the process of completing a picture it totally disrupts your concentration. I have no problem with ads as long as they’re in the right place. When you first log in? Fine. When you’re closing down? Fine. But 2 or 3 times during the course of filling in a picture? Not fine! You advertise this app as being relaxing, and it is right up until the next ad pops up and disrupts your concentration. I feel another break coming on!!!

Amazing, but isn’t much like photos
I think this app is amazing, it is very relaxing with the music and there is so many different photos to choose from. The one thing I would say though is that the pictures aren’t exactly the same as what they would look like if you did coloring them, but apart from that I would definitely tell you to get it. You could add dinosaurs as well though.

Ridiculous amount of ads
I used to enjoy this as a relaxing pastime but since recent updates not only are there ads every five minutes but they are interminably boring and irritating ads that go on forever and are impossible to navigate away from. The greed of the developers ruins so many games - while some ads are understandable, this latest update has made me decide to uninstall as the game is now unplayable

Relaxing
Positives - some great pictures to colour and very relaxing and I really like the way that they look like a painting once completed as opposed to a children’s colouring book. The recent updates have improved the user experience such as automatic move to next colour and altering the shading of the colour to be completed easier for those of us lacking perfect vision is appreciated. Negatives - whilst I do not object to on a free to play app, I do find that some ads seem to stick and the only way to get out of the ad is to quit the app and reload which means I have to watch another ad.

Therapeutic …. until
I started paying for this app years ago and really enjoy completing some puzzles daily ……. until the latest upgrade. I want to be able to choose which colour to paint next and not have the next sequential number highlighted, this kind of defeats the object of the painting. I like the challenge of completing the higher numbers first, I’m sure if there is enough dissatisfaction then the developers will revert back to- please.

Not happy with the new update, I don't like it automatically going to the next colour/number, I much preferred it the way it was before.
Please put it back, it's not improved it at all. I'll have to look for a different one if it doesn't go back.

What a shame
What have they done to this great colouring app - now it automatically goes to the next number - I prefer to colour by colours and use my own decisions.
The new update really has made a five star game into just an average game sad.

Change is not always for the better
I have happily used this app for years. Not happy with the change that means the next colour is automatically brought into play. It’s not how I use the app. And it’s not how I want to use it either. If it isn’t removable, I will look for a similar app that works the way I want.

Changed highlight colour / format
What have you done with the pictures ? They are awful. Lines don’t mark the colour boundaries, and they all look like cartoons.

I have loved this app, and spend many hours working through the pictures. In this last update you have changed the colour that highlights the number you select. As it is now a white and pale grey check, if you haven’t zoomed in far enough, some of the spaces do not show. It means that you have to keep zooming in and out to check every space. Makes it much less fun to play. Please change it back. Update: thanks for your response. I had not found this feature. Much better now 😊 5th March - why have you changed the format of the pictures. They now look very childish, and not proper painting by numbers. Don’t like it at all. Will not be doing anymore unless you change back.

oil painting app = my daily pictures stopped giving me new daily pictures on 3 March 2025. My last daily picture I got was for 2 March 2025. I don't want to do your latest update because I want to see the uncoloured bits in grey and not in white as your update does. I have cataracts in both eyes and I can see the grey better than the white. Kindly give me my daily pictures back without me updating app or resetting me. I don't want to loose the pictures I have done already or the ones I am half way through. I tried to fill in your form on your app support button and when I pressed submit noting happened. I see no email address for you so the only way I can contact you is to ask for your help through your review ratings section. HELP.

Changes to format
I have just renewed my subscription from this game as I really liked the format. You have now changed the format which is now like every other colouring site! I will not be renewing my subscription next time as I am very disappointed with this new format. The painting when finished looked like original oil paintings, not any more! So sad! …on the little messages I get before starting a picture. “Try not to play more than two hours a day” (I’ll make my own decisions thanks), “Try starting colouring with number 6” (Why??) “Welcome back we missed you” (I haven’t been away). Also the bit which shows me how I coloured the pic - total waste of time. Apart from the niggles, a great app.

Old version
The old version was much better, faster. There’s no need for to see again filling in colours then skip once picture has been done, also the two clicks the magnifying and the touch after colours number touch was on better place on the bottom of the screen. That is not improvement. If it stays like current state I will not extend my subscription after long time were a member.

Love this app but Not keen on the latest update
I’ve been enjoying using this app for years, but just recently (after an update to the app), I’ve found that the selected colours now “lighten” in the picture rather than “darken”. This might not seem like a huge problem but after years of using the app my brain is hard wired to look for the darker cells. I’m not a fan of it and much preferred the way it was before. Such a shame because it was really good before this update. Any chance to switch it back?!
Also, something I thought might be a nice feature for a future update …could each picture have a “difficulty rating”??

App problem solved so my review is updated.
I had a serious problem with both Veraxen apps and left a review in the hopes of information of nothing else. I also contacted support. Inside 48 hours (it was weekend so that’s totally fair) support had got back to me, explained the problem was at their end and fixed. And it was.
So nothing but praise for prompt and polite help. And I get my apps back and I can continue to play these great games that I’ve enjoyed for so long. So I’m happy delete and update my initial review.

Ads have ruined this
You know what? I’m okay with watching ads. Ask me to watch one before… ask me to watch one after. I’m in. It’s how it is in this life unfortunately.
However there are now ads interrupting the experience every few moments while in the middle of colouring. It’s too much and has completely ruined the experience. No more chilling out!
The developer claims that they are needed to fund the game, but has completely missed the fact that people use these types of games to decompress and zone out. So the entire function and therapeutic outcomes are no more. It’s now just a flurry of adverts. Uninstalled, sadly.

After happily playing this for many years I have now deleted it as I’m fed up constantly being interrupted by ads while colouring a picture. Also the quality of the pictures has deteriorated greatly over the last year or so. I played this game to relax but the regular intrusions are anything but relaxing! I now have another colouring app which is far better.

Used to love this as it’s one of the few colouring apps that support landscape mode on the iPad. The recent update tripled the ads on each puzzle ruining the experience. Reluctantly now uninstalled. Its was fun until it wasn’t.

I have used this App for years. It is very therapeutic seeing a picture develop and I used to look forward to doing the daily puzzle.
Unfortunately, the App has stopped working and no longer opens.

No longer working properly
I have enjoyed using this app for the past couple of years so I finally decided to buy it.
But.
Soon after I did, the app started misbehaving. Most of the time now, when I’ve finished a picture, instead of a lovely colourful painting, it looks as if it’s a negative. I have a photo to show you how it ends up, but I’m not sure if I can include a photo with this review.

Doesn’t save work done?
I’ve really enjoyed using this app, it’s very calming and relaxing to use and the end results are sometimes quite stunning. However ever since the last update the app no longer works properly. After painting within a picture there’s no way to keep the results. If you simply go from one picture to another you lose everything that’s been done. And any colour which has been applied is not displayed. I tried deleting the app and redownloading it again but have now lost everything I’d done before. It’s completely unusable!!??
UPDATE: Had a fantastic, and quick response, with an understanding apology. Their team are trying to sort out the problem and apologised for the inconvenience. What more can you ask for! Thanks guys.

Help
For the last week if don’t finish a picture the colours just disappear and I have to start over! I don’t always have the time to complete a picture all in one go and sometimes when I manage to it just go back to monochrome. I’ve tried deleting the app and reloading but it still happens!

Brilliant
I love this app. There is a good variety of pictures and styles. There is nothing to dislike. I have been using this app for years.
One suggestion is to have ‘mystery’ pictures where you do not know what the picture will be.
One glitch has occurred since last update -
the picture is being ticked as completed but doesn’t show in all the full colour.

It’s a bit expensive plus there seems to be a glitch whereby if I stop using it then go back in it asks if I want to continue then nothing happens, I then have to close it down, re open it and look in my collections to get back to what I was doing. It’s a bit frustrating especially after paying so much.

I love this app but......
The pictures are good and the colouring is both absorbing and relaxing, however, the ads are too intrusive. I appreciate that ads are where developers generate revenue but I object to ads that lock my screen and no matter how long I wait my screen remains locked. The only way to rectify it is to close the program and start again. For this reason alone I am uninstalling

Great app - Relaxing - Too many ads
This app is super relaxing, I always play it when I’m a little bored. It’s easy to use and rather fun. There’s not much else to say really.
But one negative thing about it, that takes two stars, is the sheer volume of ads. I get that ads are often necessary for an app, but this is ridiculous. You get one when you open the app, then you get one when you open a picture, you get one when you close the picture and go back on jt, then you can’t even look at your finished picture because guess what! A ****** ad pops up the millisecond you finish. Enough!

Was brilliant til…
I absolutely love this app, I’ve been using it for a few years now and find it so relaxing and therapeutic.
It would easily have been 5 stars but it has literally just starting interrupting my colouring by adverts popping up, sometimes within seconds of each other which is very frustrating. This never used to happen so am guessing it’s some kind of blip so hopefully you can sort it out asap because it stops your flow of colouring and can cause sudden stress!

Excellent App
So this is an app that I use daily- the pictures are varied and good quality, I find it very relaxing. It’s by far one of the best paint by number apps out there, and I’ve tried (then deleted) plenty.
Unfortunately I installed the latest update and it deleted all my progress, so all the pictures I’ve coloured before are now uncoloured again, and all the bonus pictures and special ones from past events have all disappeared. So I guess I need to start all over again. But if I’d known that was going to happen I wouldn’t have updated it...I can’t find a way of getting everything back as it was.

This is by far the best colouring app I’ve ever had the pleasure to use 🥰 This is my go to app when I want to relax and have to some “me” time.I’ve had this app for quite a while now and I’ve tried so many, but nothing comes close to being as good. Very good way to unwind!
I started this app last year when I was looking for something to do while on prolonged leave. I soon subscribed to get access to more pictures. I love this app. I feel a sense of achievement when completing a new picture, and there is a range of different styles to suit everyone. Sometimes there are very small areas which could be frustrating if you have to pay for hints, but with patience you can find them. It has been a great way to unwind!

When you wish you hadn't updated...*
I would have given this 5 stars as I have loved this app since I started using it, but the latest upgrade is very disturbing to my eye. Larger numbers for larger areas of colour?! Why is this necessary? I find it actually makes it more difficult to pick out all the selected colour as they eye is disturbed by the different number sizes. I hope in future updates you go back to the numbers all being the same.

Love it
The pictures are beautiful and it’s just so relaxing to play. Can’t complain at the amount of ads, at least they don’t pop up during gameplay unless you resume playing after a break and those ads can usually be dismissed pretty quickly. I don’t understand the pricing as it seems very expensive especially when you give us so many free pictures anyway. I’d buy it in an instant if the prices were halved but the weekly and monthly prices are way too much. Still worth five stars though. Thank you for this lovely app.

Long ads
The game itself is great and addictive and I really like the features where some are free, some unlock with ads and some are paid for. On the free ones an ad pops up but I don’t mind as they are 5secs or less and skippable; however recently I’ve noticed that every ad pop up can’t be skipped and are long enough to take some of the enjoyment out of the game... I’d rather play something else then forced to watch ads. Change it back!!

What Happened?
Let me start by saying that I loved this app so much that after two months I purchased the one year subscription.
I’ve steadily been working through the pictures, and really appreciate the freebies on Facebook and Instagram.
However the update this weekend has freaked me out. Previously I was more then happy to zoom in and look for numbers but the massive numbers in the latest update make the page so busy that I’m struggling to colour the smaller boxes as I don’t want to expand the screen.
As a previous reviewer said can this not be a feature that can be turned on or off per preference otherwise I don’t think I’ll be using the app as much over the next eight months, or maybe will need to request a refund.

My favourite app ever!
I have been looking for an app like this for a long time, I suffer from the terminal illness which is Motor Neurone Disease and used to enjoy painting by freehand, now the disease has really taken hold I am restricted mostly to lying in bed for about 17 hours each day, this app really allows me to relax and chill out, the pictures are outstanding and the colours vibrant, with each touch of the colours offered I can almost imagine dipping my paint brush into the colour and watching it glide across the paper building a beautiful picture as it goes

Problem
For the last 2 days my app keeps freezing just as the picture appears. I can’t go back to the main page, so I exit the app then when I go back on it the same happens. I have gone through my I pad looking for problems but there are none. This is my favourite app and I can’t get on it at the moment. HELP!!!!!!

Almost perfect
I love this game; it has become one of my favourites, but I wish you could get achievements. For example, if you return to the game for two days in a row then you get one hint. Developer, if you are reading this then please bear this suggestion in mind during the next update.
But that is the only fault which I have found. Apart from this, the game helps relive stress and is a good way to spend your time. There may be a few adverts, but they only come after you complete a picture. You can also pay for a subscription, but it doesn’t do very much apart from giving you a couple more pictures to colour in. Thank you for your time.

Great app but adverts really annoying
Superb pictures and colours support each different picture. Until about three or four weeks ago, the adverts were not too intrusive. However, I feel there has been a change of ownership and/or management as there have been slight changes in the colouring application on most, if not all, pictures. Also, there are more adverts and the most annoying change is the advert that is pulled out when pulling along the colours from the right. It takes great care not to grab the palette and pull out the advert. It annoyed me so much that I have deleted the app. Disappointing.

Oil colouring
I’ve spent my life doing all sorts of craft work and creating items at many levels. Now l suffer from severe arthritis which affects my hands quite badly.
I get a real feeling of creating something through this oil painting by numbers and my family love receiving my pictures, a bunch of flowers, or something more relevant to their present life.
It gives me such pleasure to see the picture developing with the colour, and would miss it greatly if removed.
I have tried other paintings-by-number, THIS IS THE MOST REALISTIC AND FUN! Thank you!

This app is the best app ever. Some people didn’t like this because there were bug issues. But those are fixed now and it is better than ever. Also if you want to get the premium then I would recommend that too.I’m sorry if you can’t get premium. It is still a good app without it.

Fun but....
I really enjoy this game but...it’s really expensive for the subscription for a colouring app, especially when there’s other similar for a lot less and even free. A one off purchase price would be better than a subscription in my opinion, or even an option to just remove ads for a smaller cost without having to subscribe and pay so much. Rated three stars and would review again if option to remove ads only was added and maybe a one of purchase price was added.

User friendly
I find this a very relaxing occupation. I often do a painting whilst watching a slow movie or documentary. The paintings are varied and have vibrant and varied colours. There are different categories to choose from and the choices vary from quick and easy to quite complex. I love seeing the finished product and it satisfies the creative side of me, though no talent is needed, just a sharp eye and patience. There are a lot of free ones to choose from.

This app is the best app I have ever been on, the photos are high quality, it's not hard and the range of pictures are great!
I recommend this to all ages! Please can we have more features though. For example:
- You can take a photo and turn it into a picture for you to couloir
- Please add more choice of animals including cats (my fav animal)
Other than that, this app is AWESOME!

I love the variety of subject to colour
It widens ones perspective making it far more interesting. What I loved about this app was the clever way you were linked to the next number making it a seamless experience. Now after having an update I find you have taken this off and I wonder why. This was the only colouring app to link the process which made it far better to use.
I’m not enjoying it now as you get a silly pop up when you have finished a colour. Just like the annoying one in Magic Color asking for an ad. You also leave the colours on after they have finished. It was far better when they disappeared so not cluttering up the bottom amongst the ones still in use.
Don’t understand why you had to mess around with what was an enjoyable experience.

Very enjoyable app
I liked this so much that I did buy the expensive yearly subscription. However, I don’t like that it now doesn’t automatically go to the next colour when finishing. That was something that didn’t need changing. Also finding it a bit “buggy”. It nearly always freezes first time, so I usually have to reload a couple of times. That said, it’s really an excellent app!

Why is this killing Music app?
I like this app and it’s a great alternative to games right now at a time when my life is really busy and I need some relaxing time, but when I open it, Apple Music stops playing. Why is it doing this? Listening to music goes hand in hand with a relaxing art activity, so please fix this. I’ll be using a different painting app when playing music until this is fixed.

Great App
I love this App, The pictures are lovely and definitely relaxing. It is nice to find a colouring app that isn’t just a lot of squares, which all the others I have tried seem to be. If I could find any fault it would be that you have taken away the auto select feature. Why??? The pop up box that keeps flashing when you complete a colour is very annoying. It was much better when it just jumped to the next colour so you could carry on.
That is my only grumble though. Loving the new calendar too. Gives lots of new pictures for those of us that can’t justify the price of the premium subscription.

Beautiful
I really love this game and it’s very relaxing and what’s more, I feel as though I can actually colour properly, because in real life I can’t 😂. I love the animal section of pictures, especially the horse ones. Even though all sections are really cool, animal and colourful are definitely my favourites. And I even colour in on the kids section if I want something more easy 🧒🏻.
To anyone wondering if you should by theirs app then you definitely should because it is amazing and relaxing

Great app - definitely a way to relax
I love this app and look forward to the different pictures appearing. To see the pictures emerge is great. However, in the last few days, there has been a change to when you finish a particular number. Whereas it used to automatically go to the next colour, you now have to touch the number. Not a huge deal but definitely more awkward to use and not an improvement.

Great app BUT!
I love this app really relaxing just what I needed at a real low point in my life. BUT the app froze and I couldn’t get in to it so deleted it to restart it as I have done with other apps, here’s the BUT, I then lost all of my previous collection, very disappointed. I also don’t understand why I can’t use it across different devices. As with other reviews the ads are far too many, I understand we’d get some if not paying for a subscription but there are far too many. I might try other apps to see what they are like.

Addictive
For someone who takes medication that gives them the shakes, this app is quite brilliant. As I do have the shakes, a normal colouring in book is simply not worth getting as I go over the lines. With this app, I can colour by numbers all day long and simply get myself lost in the creating of a lovely picture. Whoever thought this up needs an award. Big, bright, bold and beautiful. Recommend highly

Great but frustrating
This is a great game, beautiful pictures and so relaxing BUT the adverts are so annoying They are popping up everywhere, when you are about to start, in the middle at the end it’s crazy, then there is the cost, I don’t know what kind of apps/games ya’ll download but I have never came across an app asking for this amount of money to buy the full version, paying a monthly cost, good god I have more need to put that towards household bills not a bloody app, you need to come up with a better idea, running out of pictures to colour and having to wait for only two new ones each day, think I’m heading for deletion😡

Amazing fun, I couldn’t stop colouring
I’ve literally just got this about ten minutes ago, and have already coloured about 5 pictures. It’s super easy to do and overly satisfying to look at your finished work. I just have two criticisms, I don’t really like how if you want to colour some pictures you have to subscribe to pay money. 😯 And that you have one more thing to colour, but you just can’t seem to find it! 😑 However, I’m very happy with this game and can’t wait to colour some more! 🥳🤪

Beautiful pictures
I’ve been using this app for a while now (just the free pics) and I love it. Not sure I like the fact that a lot of the new pictures now have over 100 different colours. I used to enjoy the fact that each pic only had no more than 24 colours. But no matter, the end product is always worth it.

Oil Painting
GREAT just like the real thing, especially when you are doing landscapes or still life. I enjoy the most intricate pieces (Please can we have more of the difficult ones). I am really enjoying this game I love the colouring games also but I do find this one more relaxing.
Having said all that I haven’t paid for a single picture yet I don’t think it warrants the price they are asking for you to subscribe. So if they cut down on the free pics or just left you with the naff ones I will be off no fear. But enjoy as long as it is FREE. 🥰🤪

Great app but cost too high
I would have paid to get this app as o one off because I absolutely love it but to pay a monthly or annual fee is not something I am willing nor can afford to commit to. Especially as there are always new ‘by numbers’ apps coming up. Once I have completed all the free paintings I will probably have to delete it. What a shame. It is a very therapeutic app though.

Love the App
Really love the pictures, I have had the app a few days and can’t keep off it but the last 2 days I am not getting access to the two new ones, they are blanked out. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise. ( REVISED TO 5 STARS as this is now fixed )
It would be nice I you had a choice of filling the colours in by brush stroke so it was more of a lifelike experience ( just an idea for the future maybe? )

Beautiful
This is by far my favourite colour by number style app around at the moment. It’s sophisticated both to use and in quality, the paintings are truly oil-esque and some are truly glorious.
I’m always sad when the daily freebies are done, because subscription is expensive, even the yearly option. If this was reduced to a more reasonable level for the one extra daily picture then I would absolutely pay.
Still, a lovely app I’ll be sticking with.
