Good Game, not pay to win like is being said
For starters, the game follows a good simple plot-line that gradually expands into lots of different stories, creating lots of new content each update. An example of this is the Arc chapters and new arc suit characters coming with many new strategies involving the Arc suit buffs. The only reason im writing this review is to combat the plethora of hate comments this game has about it being pay to win. To that I respond. The game starts you off with 6k gems and in those your pretty much guaranteed to get a 5 star or featured unit. On top of that the game gifts you a free scout for Blue and Pidgeot, this is a mega evolving Sinc pair and allows early game to ease out with the move air cutter hitting all units.
If you still think its pay to win, although they’ve removed the bingo cards that gave 6k gems and lots of items. They’ve added multiple quests worth 500 gems each giving you over 11k gems. On top of this if new players go to the pasio academy events they get free 5star sinc pairs that they can train in there since grid. This also shows players how to access and easily up their game by using sinc grids.
Im gonna be real now. Ive been playing this game the week it came out until now with countless resets and challenges. The game constantly adds new characters and levels that involve new and intuitive strategies. Like the bonuses at the start of the battle if the sinc pairs your using each have similar traits to each other.
My only tiny complaint that doesnt change the game’s standard is the inability to battle other people, i think it would be a nice quality to add more fun and depth to the game.
Nun the less i hope this review makes the people who thinks its pay to win or a gashgrab think different and overall help add to the developers cause 10/10 game!

A huge problem
Would rate it higher as the game clearly has potential to be good but it’s literally plagued by bad game optimisation, anytime you even press a button you got a loading icon appear, then sometimes stupidly long load times through the icon.
Literally anything you press throws it into a load animation and it becomes infuriating once you notice it.. there’s really no excuse for the game to be this badly optimised in this day and age except for a lazy development team, uninstall.

Great Game.
The style of battling in this game is something I’ve never quite seen before. It takes everything you think you know about Pokèmon, and turns it into something quite different. Aside from the battling, the character design is brilliant, with lots of fun characters to play around with. The only reason that it’s not five stars, is because of the amount of dialogue. Too much. In the main story mode, there is a lot of dialogue, and I do recommend just skimming past most of it. All in all, fun game!

Ever since I played Pokémon EX I’ve felt like there is so much to do and achieve with each minute but the one downside which shouldn’t be a big problem is how easy it can be literally people can be lv140 in chapter 1 and make it to the final PML competition with ease in 2 days like that’s how I did it but once again without that Pokémon EX can really blow your mind with how it keeps improving and that’s why I rated 4 stars hopefully you find this helpful

I've been a die - hard fan of Team Rocket's boss, Giovanni, for ages. The Majestic Set designed for this event is incredibly cool. The details and the overall look just blew me away.
I truly appreciate all the hard work that went into making this event happen. The event planners must have put in many planning hours to create such an engaging experience, and the illustrators' work is top - notch. Their talent really shines through in every aspect of the Majestic Set.

Abysmal pull rates
Been playing this on and off since release, and I can confident say do not play this game. The pull rates for characters are absolutely abysmal. When I can go 50 pulls without getting a single five star you know that something is up, not to mention how every unit they release is pure powercreep in hopes they can get you to pour money into the game.
After you finish the main story there is pretty much nothing to do outside of clearing the events they release every so often and grinding for materials to upgrade the singular five star you might’ve pulled. The game is well made, yes, but I’ve never had less fun and been more annoyed consistently than I have with this game than any other haha game I’ve played.
Save yourself some time and effort, do not play this game.

I like this game BUT
I really like this game. It’s a really fun mechanic idea and the story is enjoyable to play through ( on my previous account ). One problem though…. ITS SO UNBALANCED!!!! I logged in and at the end of the first chapter I look at my rewards for missions and saw 3000 FOUR STAR LEVEL UP THINGYS (idk what they’re called lol)
And I had levelled up all my characters to max level and me to level 140!?!? Imo, this game just gives you too much at the start but on my previous account IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FINE??? Idk what’s going on? Probably some event that’ll hopefully pass by but it’s almost unplayable and really boring until then

I always wanted a game that would give us more lore for the characters, I’m especially happy about Archie and Maxie getting recognition, but maybe add Shelly, Matt and Tabitha, also! As a warning it takes months of grinding for 1 sync pair and maybe make the wait for Archie and Maxie to be available again a little shorter, also please add Wallace, Courtney and Archie to the trainer lodge, I’d especially enjoy talking to Wallace my silly water boy! Let alone the voicelines and character models- I honestly think with a few more updates and additions the game can get even more popular! I hope anyone who reads this has a utterly glori(a)us day!

This game is one of the most engaging games ever!Honestly this could 100% go against Pokémon go, and probably win. All this game needs is the amount of advertising go does. Good: The auto feature👏 I can just do whatever and beat all levels! 😂 Please don’t get rid of it though! Bad: After I beat the champion 5 I just get usual battle rewards and then get told to do 100 more battles on victory road. Please can I have a bit of credit!😅 So all in all I love this game! Incredibly Amazing Game
I’ve been playing Pokémon Masters since before Stamina was even a thing and the way it continues to improve every single update shows how much they care about the player base. It has voice acting for trainers which the main games don’t even have, they give trainers more personalities, interactions and friendships that we’d never see otherwise.
The game is extremely fun, challenging, exciting and unlike other games this gacha game is very generous with gems and pull rates, especially since I come from F/GO. I can’t recommend this game enough, it deserves its flowers!

An easier way to get Gems
I had a thought on easier ways to get gems. In Pokémon masters ex it is pain stakingly hard to get gem for f2p players myself included. A way to fix that would be these things called gem events. It could be a bit like you would grind battles and get gems in turn. It could use stamina so it wouldn’t be to broken but it could give you like 10 gems per battle which would really help players get gems without having to pay real money.

Pokémon Masters EX needs improvement
This game is soo awesome! I feel like it needs a little improvement though as it’s got a lot of potential, some key things I think need improving are, it needs more hair styles, I like how now you can change hair but I’d like a little more variety, like changing back hair and sides, another thing that I think would be great is clothing, even if it’s just 2 or 3 sets, I’d love it if I could change clothes, oh and eye shape and more colours, and also when we first start the game why does pikachu have to be a male, it would be nice to get a female when soft reseting the game and also serenas fennekin is female not male . And another thing is the battles against legendary Pokémon, their too strong, last time I played I had my sync pairs at level 100 or so but I still couldn’t get their. Other than that I absolutely love this game 👍💗😊❤️

Not working right
I was doing the tutorial as normal and it was really just great it’s an amazing game. but when I finished the tutorial and it told me to download the main story. it was ok till I actually tried to download it an error came up saying I still need roughly 3464 megabytes out of 3464 megabytes. so I checked my settings and I still had about 6.7 gigabytes.
I went back to test to see if it was just a one time thing so when I got back on the game I didn’t expect it to still say I had got no space available even though I still had 6.7 gigabytes. I tried and tried again but I still haven’t been able to play it at all to this day.
Please give me some advice.

Amazing Game!!
I’ve been playing this game for nearly two years now, so i guessed I’d finally write a review. In my opinion it’s amazing, even better than Go! I love that you are able to get all the trainers from retro games like Red and Blue, all the way up to Sw/Sh. The story’s really cool (I’ve completed the villain and main storylines) and it really brings all the different generations together well. One thing I would say is that character customisation is limited, in my opinion too much so. But it’s overall an incredible game, even on mobile, so keep up the great work guys!!

Probably best Pokémon game on mobile devices
This game is the ideal game for any Pokémon fan, you have access to so much customisation, there’s only 3 things I want more mc character customisation so allow us to get accessories different clothes, mega evolution or D-max and different hair, you can do all of that after Legends Arceus, I also want a way to farm skip tickets as these are so vital to grinding, last thing 4 members to a team, as i do want access to 2 supports a tach and a striker, but I can see how that can be broken, increase the level cap to 200 if you can to make it more fun, other that that. Chefs Kiss MWAAAAH.

Underrated!!
This game is truly great for a little mobile game! In my opinion it could rival Pokemon Go!
Honestly though, I only heard of this game from a random tweet, y'all gotta market more cuz this game deserves the attention and I wish I'd heard of it sooner!!
I'd also love to see character customisation because I never wanna use the Pokemon my character has, even the shiny ones, because my character is so generic and boring compared to my scouted sync pairs. It could add a whole new aspect of collecting clothes items and could even have alternate colours like the 6 star sync pairs (which I absolutely LOVE). The sygna suits are amazing too and I get sooo excited to see new designs! I would just love to feel more attached to the character you play as!
But other than that I have no complaints on the gameplay! The game is immaculate in terms of bugs, I haven't experienced a single one!! The events and new content keeps it exciting and the battle system is so flawless and sophisticatedly designed! I can't wait to see what gets added next!

A Game of great Nostalgia but it has one major flaw…
As stated this game is the biggest Nostalgia trip in any Pokemon game we’ve ever played with Trainers,Gym leaders and Champions both new and old with a interesting storyline in a fantastic setting. However the thing that Hurts this game in our Honest Opinion is the Gacha System which is the primary system of getting Sync pairs (Trainers and Pokemon) the rates feel so weighed against you when you want a certain character, that being said unlike most Gacha games we’ve played they periodically offer summon Banners with 10% chance to scout a 5* Sync pair however again you’re not Guaranteed you’re preferred Sync pair, if they offered 5* Sync pairs in there events more rather then locking everything behind the Gacha system this game would be a masterpiece. I AM IN LOVE...
Pokémon Masters is AMAZING and fun! Once I had enough gems to do it so I got a huge ten sync pairs! And one of them was someone that some of you might want a lot. It was BLUE!! Yes. I got Blue. When the Giovanni and Mewtwo event was active I actually beat him. I’ve even got to the PML!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’d say that this app was one of the reasons that I LOVE POKÉMON and I always will. My favourite thing is the sync pair stories because you just get to chill and chat, and have fun. I’d like to see a Pokémon game where you can join one of the evil teams and wreak havoc across the Pokémon World. Anyway my explanation for that suggestion is because I love villains lol.

Was surprised
I love all Pokémon games and this one had me very curious, truth be told I instantly accused It of being another “Mobile cash grab for those with no impulse control” but after playing a few hours I realised how wrong I was!
This game can be played and completed without spending a single penny and without doing any virtual store stuff!
The story is a little cheesy and some of the sync pairs partner Pokémon can be questionable but other than that it’s a unique take on the battle system in Pokémon!
My only true complaint is that I wish all typing and resistances where in play instead of every Pokémon having only 1 weakness (can confuse people getting into the franchise)

Hopeful improvements
I enjoy the game played since day one...I’ve got no problems with the gatcha summons (don’t always get the mons I want)
Only problem I have is the stamina system took at least 60-70% of the fun out of the game ether remove completely or give us a very easy way other than gems to refill and also I would like to see a big improvement on how to obtain the extreme medals (blue ones) as the it is far to slow and a lengthy progress to obtain the amount needed.
Anyhow on a bright it would be a great idea if you were to some how obtain and teach TMs to any Pokemon just like in the original pokemon games but maybe make it abit like the cookie system and have the ability to reroll for other moves with specific stats...

Love This Game! (But 1 bug problem)
(Please note before you read this that in my opinion I’m pretty terrible at writing sentences)
This game is great. It’s a lot of fun and a good way for me to kill of all my spare time. I also really love the addition of hatching eggs, it really allows you to get a verity of Pokémon!
Seeing as Pokémon Shield is the only other Pokémon game I’ve ever played I can’t really compare to anything coz comparing this game with Pokémon Shield isn’t a fair comparison.. over all great game but as you can see in the tittle I do have one problem... The game keeps crashing!
That’s right! No matter what I’m doing or how long I’ve been playing at some point I always crash. That’s basically how I turn the game off.. Here’s a list of when I crash most: Trade market, Synic pair scout, Porigon Dex, Team Edit Etc.
Now I don’t know if it’s because of the device I’m playing on (iPad) but it really isn’t fair and I’d appreciate it someone at leased tried to fix it!

Better than Mainstream Pokemon Games ✨
Performs battles and fan service better than normal Pokemon games do like Pokemon Sw/SH. But it’s obvious how cash grabby this game can be, it does have insane rates of 5*’s hitting up to 12% but that’s not the key issue here, it’s actually the battle system itself. Originally when the Pokemon Masters game was released you could play battles as much as you like with no downside, now they have Stamina, and have for quite a while. This received a lot of backlash when it was released and they said it was subject to change if players disliked it, but yet here we are, almost 2 years in and it still not gone. I love this game a lot but truly hate hate HATE it’s Skip Ticket and Stamina system, it makes the game too restrictive and forces you to come back the next day.
If you want your players to come back the next day, remove this system and bring back what it was instead of forcing them.
Other than that 10/10 love it. 💕

Good but.....
This game is great and I love this game but some problems. First of all the main story mode only goes up to quarter finals so pls add the next chapters after that. Second of all getting gems is pretty hard, u get daily bonus’s I know but to do 11 sync pairs scout u need 3000 gems a really hard challenge so maybe 500 gems per day. Finally
I don’t like the way paid gems are separate from non paid and that the daily scout for an event uses ur paid gems pls could u combine paid gems with non paid gems. Besides those problems this game brilliant!!! I recommend this app.

Honestly it was better in 2020
I do love this game and it’s very fun, especially with the events and all the other stuff In it you can play all day without any setbacks. That’s was before they added stamina.
Stamina is awful. You only get 200 extra stamina a day and the more harder the battles get the more stamina is required to do them. If you leave a battle to edit your team to find a tactics, it requires you to repay your stamina. It’s sad because it feels like they don’t want you to play the game, and it’s generally awful. You want to do an event? Well you wasted all your stamina trying to buff your team. Now you can’t do anything. You can’t battle which means you won’t be able to complete any quest which means you can’t replenish your stamina. Again, this just seems like they don’t want you to play the game.
Would’ve been a four star review, but it’s really just gotten worse over time. Certainly doesn’t deserve a 4 star anymore.

Good but no fan base for this title
The graphics and effort put into this game is really impressive! I love Pokemon and I think this is another great attempt at a mobile game.
The Pokémon company keep trying to conquer the app stores but every time their games/fan bases falls off a cliff, no different this time. The game requires online co-op to get the very best items for your roster but as previously mentioned there isn’t a reliable fan base to play alongside, there is still an alternative but you have to wait in a lobby for around half a minute each time, then you’ll be assigned 1 or 2 below mediocre NPC’s which fight alongside you blindly hitting and hoping with no obvious game play mechanics other than RNG.
I don’t think being lucky is a sustainable strategy so I can’t give more than 2* for what could be a great game!

This game is great
Alright. They took this game to a next level compared to the old version of this game. More story, elite 4 and more level books that are level 4 versions of them. Mega’s are still great and team break has masks to disguise them which is unique to the main games. Pokemon does three more things I like and also different too. I like that they gathered up gym leaders and elite 4 members in the story to make newer players more farmiliar to old gym and elite 4 members. Second to last thing I like is sync moves. They are the new strong category of battle strategy and sort of mimic Z-moves a bit but you can use them multiple times, get more powerful and take multiple turns to pull off. The final thing is that they did sygna suit versions of the famous characters. THEY LOOK SO COOL!

Kinda fun, but too difficult
I will say they’re generous with the free gems and summon rates. Managed to get most of the highlighted guest summons with ease all free. Gameplay is very boring though mainly because the enemies seem to be overpowered so it’s a race in every battle to get your sync move useable and even then at later levels it’s not enough. Unless I’m missing a huge part of the content which is designed to strengthen your team. I’ll even enter a attle which seems like should be doable like a training one to get resources where I am max level and I barely scratch the enemy. With no way to further strengthen my team I’ve now deleted the app. I like difficulty but when every enemy battle is a quick mash of buttons to use a sync move which now isn’t even nearly enough.... Nan boring.

A SLIGHT PROBLEM BUT GREAT
I love the game, I really do, but the problem is I finished the game so far so please read the next paragraph at least to see a few of my thoughts about this.
I have seen events and a few come and go (only one while I have played, I finished the game very quickly), so instead of making them please make the rest of the game instead. Of course I’m sure your working on a amazing ending that will be challenging and fun, but please give us a sign. I know you make a lot of events so instead of stopping making them for a bit maybe when you make your events you can also make half a chapter or something for story mode, but don’t listen to me about the half a chapter bit because I have no clue how long it takes to make chapters and events but please start marking the end or continue making it.
What would this review be without me telling you how great the game is? Well for your answer I must say one of the best games ever! I’m not a huge Pokemon fan. I played Pokemon go for a while and I enjoyed it. I never watched the Pokemon on TV but I still like them... who doesn’t?! What makes it so good is a mystery to me but one thing for sure it is great fun to play. A little tip though (I already told you I finished it quick), make you have to complete a certain chapter to unlock events and sync pair scout. It is up to you though. I love the game! Anyway I can’t think of much more than to say that the game is incredible and everyone should get it.

Update has made levelling impossible
Started playing this with my son so that we could team up for battles. Was a fun game.
However since the latest upgrades, there is no possibility of raising any team past 100 as the varying levels for cap lock have been removed o be replaced by one battle, which cannot be won by any teams of lvl 100. Instead of levelling up teams under the old system past 100 we have been building all of our teams up to 100 which we then planned to upgrade further.
As it is all the main missions have been completed to 25 on normal and hard but there is nowhere left to go until they fix the no progression bug in the cap lock battles.
Would not recommend this game to new players expecting to be able to play this long term as you will not be able to progress any team past 100.
Would suggest this gets fixed. I will no longer be playing until it is made to be playable again.

The game is great but I have nothing to do
Overall I love this game, I think the shop and the sinc pair scouting is the right price and I think it is quite a fair chance to get a 5 star for example I have managed to get blue when his sinc pair spotlight was not on. My only issue with this game is that is am bored. I have finished to main story line all the way up to chapter 24 and the only things that keep me coming on this game are the sinc pair scouts to see is anyone new is on the spotlight and the events. And also with the events a lot of them are way to hard the only event that I have managed to complete is the most recent one with solgaleo. Otherwise i love the game and the graphics are amazing.

Fun, but Extremely Flawed
Enjoyable, but gets extremely grindy extremely quickly. Granted, that’s something of a general issue with this style of game, but the necessity of changing your team every chapter exacerbates it massively here. Separating gems into Paid and Unpaid is a bit low on the developer’s part.
My biggest complaint is that they really, really need to sort out the issue with recommended power shown on the levels being way too low. It’s supposed to be a guide to indicate whether you have a decent chance at winning and being at almost double the recommended power and still completely unable to pass a level is utterly infuriating. The power scaling in general seems off. There are many levels where even your most powerful attacks take off the barest sliver of health from your opponent, while they knock off giant chunks of yours with barely a whisper of effort.

Takes some sweating but a great game
The graphics and visuals are great and it does a vey good job of making Pokémon mobile while keeping to its core ideas. I haven’t spent any money in game and I don’t really think you have to, as it is a lot more fun to grind for those gems (which aren’t really hard to get). Multiple Pokémon on your team mean you have to keep on your toes but it becomes very enjoyable once you get used to it. The story mode was a bit short but they keep keep you occupied with limited time events and opening packs with rare and iconic trainers and gym leaders. The online multiplayer feature is really cool and you can team up with friends to defeat bosses. Only things missing are Galar gym leaders and champion which they will probably add and online 1v1s. Hopefully it will become compatible with Pokémon HOME but we will have to see.

Not what I expected
The graphics are below what I expected for Nintendo’s standards, it just doesn’t have the feel of a proper Pokémon game, I have played Pokémon Platinum, a bit of Black 2, Y, Omega Ruby and Sword, this game has me even more disappointed than all of these games combined, now considering the iPad I have is more powerful than a switch (iPad Mini 2019 with an A12 APU) I would at least expect graphics that are on par with the Switch, the battle style is not my cup of tea to be honest and the adding new team mates to your team by paying is quite unfair in my opinion, but if you’re used to Pokémon GO but want to see what a mainstream Pokémon game is like then I suppose this’ll give you a rough idea, but you’ll only really see a hint of a mainstream Pokémon game in there, not what I expected and is giving Nintendo a bad reputation

I cannot believe it is free
This game is free and I can’t believe it. Looks pay to win but isn't at all
People are saying this game is pay to win because you can buy gems to unlock gachas, which have a .02%-2% chance of giving you something valuable per draw. And in the first 2/3 weeks of playing the game I've earned enough of these gems in the game for free to be worth over £80/£90. My criticism is actually that paying real money in gets you nowhere. I've got all but 4 available valuable Pokémon before putting money in. Put £16 in afterwards and got nothing but repeats. Plus there's legendaries every few weeks which can't be bought, you have to earn them. Brilliant game, needs more new content faster though

A few problems
First off the idea and the look is amazing but there are a few problems, I’m against leer and honestly if u want me to throw my phone keep it the same but honestly he needs changing! I had a good team all lvl 100 and honestly can’t beat the stupid man we are all super effective towards him! Also u should re consider some of the moves, like double edge if leer is going to use it so often and almost 1 hit me why is he taking a baby amount of recoil damage, in the games it’s “a lot of recoil damage” this game also needs to try complete one pokemon before going onto the next like can you please do sceptile so he mega evolves and don’t give us torchic or oshawat unless we can evolve them cos there useless and weak other wise. I’m sorry to be so negative but honestly quite a few things need changing especially in the shop, why if the chance of a duplicate so common I want to get all the Pokemon sync pairs but when I used the latest “sorry patch note gems” I got one new sync pair and that wasn’t even 4 stars I’m just a bit annoyed how 4700 gems all are duplicate sync pairs, and what is worse is I only have a few sync pairs and not very many!

Upping the level cap is the last straw!
First of all this game is quite buggy. The company regularly makes errors but does try to make up for this by giving away gems, fair enough, at least they are trying.
However... when they go and nerf the Pokemon you have, so you need to invest more in the game to get them back up to the level that they were previously at, I’m looking at the example of Treeko there. The company even said Treeko is really powerful and doesn’t need to evolve and then they decided to introduce its evolution and nerf it.
Now they’ve introduced level 120. WTH is that. All the main series games only go up to level 100 and that’s what this game went up to. Now you’ve gone and raised the cap. You’ll probably nerf my current mons too. Enough is enough... uninstalled.

There is potential but it has problems that need fixing
This is a game that shows promise and could be quite addictive. It has great graphics, a nice story and make most characters seem very interesting. Unfortunately the game ends up as a pay to win disappointment. You can see it in the new EX stages being released that are built to require the new premium unit. Very little updates and the rewards are a joke especially the login rewards. Price of scouting is too high and gem rewards are too low and infrequent. We need a bonus for every 10 scout pulls done.
Another problem is that it makes a phone battery extremely hot and can quickly drain it.
I have hope that the developers will eventually change their ways because the current method is very unpopular with players.
In the future it would be nice to have top trainers from other Pokemon media involved such as Paul from the Sinnoh anime and Red from the manga. It would be cool if hitting a Pokemon with a move that is normally super effective in the games but not in this game did slightly more damage than usual-somewhere between super effective and normal damage in this game.

Good game
While the concept of the game is very good, the game gets hard for F2P players to keep getting gems for sync pairs, there are not enough methods to get them once you’ve completed anything for the first time you get given gems but after that can no longer get them, I can not get enough gems for sync pairs anymore which is rather annoying, the game needs to be more F2P friendly, there has been a good flow of events so far to keep it feeling fresh, not all Pokémon have their evolutions yet which I do hope changes, also after your first stage 3 evolution it costs FAR to much for each one after that 900k for one evolution is a bit excessive in my opinion, if the game was more F2P friendly I would have given a 5*

Will be honest, played a lot of Gacha games and this is pretty much at the top of the list, it’s free to play, it doesn’t crash on my iPhone 6 like pretty much every other game at the moment, great graphics and animation that sticks to the theme of Pokémon and even when it comes to the in app purchases it’s 99p for 100 gems with a daily discount of 100 gems for one sync pair, not that greedy in comparison to other games of it’s kind! Great game.
P.s It’s been out for 2 1/2 weeks and has already had 3 events that are completely free to play, what more do you want?

What a great game! Who ever said this was bad is clearly crazy! What a great game! I only just started and I’m already on my way to my 2nd badge! It’s really good once you get into it and has a lot of potential. It even lets you sometimes choose what the character is saying to fit your or the character you created! A really great game except for sometimes when your using a effective type against another Pokémon, and your about the same level and maybe one level behind, the move does absolutely nothing! I really do hope you fix this and a really great game! Can’t wait wait for the galar region!

Great time killer and NOT pay to win
This is a well made game. I don’t understand why people say it’s pay to win. First of all it’s not a PVP game, so there’s no one to beat in the first place. The game is PVE only with increasing difficulty as you progress and although there are sync pairs that can make your life easier, you can reach end game just as easily F2P. The game is also pretty generous: you get more than 200 diamonds EACH day even after you clear everything, thanks to daily missions (it costs 300 diamonds to get a new sync pair). The fact that this game allows you to grind endlessly for stuff makes it a default F2P game. At first I thought it’s a bug :) I hope they don’t change it.
One feature request I have is a Repeat button after beating a course; it’d make the experience so much faster and easier!

Pretty good game 👍
The good:
The main story is quite interesting adding to the huge collection of previous Pokémon games. It’s good to see characters that normally you’d never see together interacting.
The combat system is fairly lucrative upon closer inspection. Especially in co-op. Not as complicated as the base games but still nice for a free mobile game.
Fairly free of pay to win mechanics. I spent £25 on the game so I’m going to compare my experience with my free to play friend. We both are at similar points far into late game co op activities. We both have 80% of the sync pairs and almost all the actually useful ones. The fact that paying only gets you more level 1 sync pairs is great as no matter how you much pay, you still have to grind for hours to get them to level 100.
The bad:
As comes with all multiplayer games, your co op experience can vary wildly from game to game based on the experience of the people you match make with. Some battles in the late game can either the exciting challenging battles or a waste of time because someone brought some mons that don’t match up well at all, or target the wrong Pokémon at the wrong times.

Good entry, but some small changes would make it significantly better
This is a far better game than I was imagining, as it really does a good job of translating Pokémon to a mobile format (although really a full length, standard Pokémon game would probably be doable anyway, just very unlikely). There are a few flaws, though.
The battle system is surprisingly good, and I think it is a little more interesting than the standard turn-based battles from the mainstream games. I think this works to the games advantage, though - it’s a nice change. That said, the way that sync pairs work can feel a little limiting, and also the weakness/strength system is a significant downgrade. No longer do Pokémon have multiple strengths, resistances, and weaknesses, now they just have one weakness and everything else is normally effective. This significantly downgrades the tactical/strategical aspect of the game, and if a more complex type system was introduced which matched the main games it would make the battles far more interesting.

Welcome to unbalanced cash grab the game
Has no potential, did say it had but after today’s event no way, have fun with limited events, seriously Pokemon is applying FOMO to this? Now it is a cash grab, Well down to 1 star from 2but wow is it unbalanced to hell you can’t increase Pokemon potential until chapter 10 meaning you’ll have max level Pokemon by chapter 3 and after that it becomes you need these specific skills to win the battles. You’d think pikachu endure passive would be end game things, nope it’s for chapter 8. Once you hit these walls the game plays itself while you grind blends in the training section. Cause you need 150 to get 3 ultra blends. Also note there is only 65 sync pairs as of launch, no Cynthia or Diantha (they are probably gonna be limited events) who are shown on the launch screen and even if they were added it’s not like you can use your favourite 3 with how dependant the game is with weaknesses and skills. Gacha system can apparently give doubles so how fun, wouldn’t know since I haven’t tried it no may, dawn, serena, mallow, Lana, Lillie or lusamine. Probably won’t play this much longer since it really is just a meh game. Shame things like this isn’t in the main game with more balance and tweaking but then again can’t complain much about a free mobile game except wish that it was a paid product instead.

Life’s not fair
I was umming and ahhing about this game before it came out thinking it wouldn’t be able to live up to the other Nintendo games and Pokemon go. And I was right. It’s not grabbing my attention at all. Some of the levels are impossible at first, and it’s difficult to see how hard a battle is going to be before you start because it doesn’t show your opponents’ levels. Also, why should my opponent be able to switch out, effectively making it sometimes a 3 vs 6 match. If you have two battles within one story mission, then your Pokemon’s health remains the same while the new opponents are at full health. I would never have picked Pikachu as a starter Pokemon either. And as the game progresses, some sync pairs get neglected making them useless once you eventually need that type. Drains the battery loads.
Positives; Graphics are good though. End of positives.

Shameful repetitive cash grab
The game itself is enjoyable enough for the first few hours. However after a while it becomes painfully apparent that you are in for the mother of all grinds if you do not fork over cash. And not just a little cash. I’m talking lots of cash....Buying AAA console games levels of cash. If you do not pay when you hit a difficult opponent you are expected to repeatedly grind the same “training” fights dozens and dozens of times in order to progress. they even added an auto fight button and a three times speed mode because it’s not about skill or gameplay it’s just doing the same fight over and over and over and over and over..... unless of course you pony up. This game runs my phone hot and kills my battery very quickly, and for that sacrifice I get no enjoyment as all I’m doing is clicking fight and waiting a couple of minutes for the fight to auto resolve for the hundredth time. So much potential with so much disappointment. For shame

Great game overall but 1 issue.
Loving the game but the 1 issue with it is what lack this game being a 5*.
I love the plot line so far, the games functions to evolve, have more friends to get further, all of the legends coming back. It's great, good job on that- but the issue is this.
Ok, I understand there was gonna be a new function of battle style, but it doesn't feel natural and will everyone would struggle to get better with it. It is not turned based, a very situational one and the moves power and accuracy aren't matching the ones in the mainstream games. If it is to compensate for having 3 Pokemon, then fair enough. If not, the reduced power makes the battles way longer than it should be- it is very strategic, but the lack of some functions from the mainstream games is what makes it kinda bad. There is no option to switch any Pokémon as in bringing a secondary 4th character to replace a Pokémon, but will have a the same health the previous one would be a great addition. It does require many things to be paying attention to, and also the moves you gain aren't very good at all- there should be a choice, like TM's and stuff like that.
This game did take out many functions that make Pokèmon...Pokèmon. The throwbacks, the plot is very good. The battle style just needs some readjusting and adding in some features will definitely boost this game to a 5*.

Good but not great
So far I have barely started the game and it seems enjoyable with all the good animations and strategy but the two major things that i dislike are that, first of all, there is a LOT of tutorial. I had guessed everything it was going to tell me to do and there is no option to skip, I understand lots of people are new to pokémon and don’t know how to play but could you at least make a skip tutorial thing or a help button for people who don’t know what to do? The only other thing is that you don’t get to pick your starter. I think Pikachu is okay but he is one of my least favourite starters of all. I would gladly take Squirtle, Bulbusaur, Charmander or pokémon from other generations over a Pikachu. Other than those two points, I love this game so far and if you are new or don’t mind tutorials and like Pikachu I would DEFINITELY recommend it to you!

A little disappointed.
I consider myself a fairly big fan of Pokémon. I’ve played all the mainline games, and quite a few of the spin offs, including a lot of the Pokémon mobile games. This one sadly, just isn’t doing it for me.
I can see why a lot of people will enjoy this game. The animations are very nice, and seeing all these legendary trainers in one place is great fan service. That’s why I’ve given the game three stars, because I know other people will adore these features, as well as the new real time battle system.
However, I found it hard to get used to this battle system. It felt jarring when you compare it to the likes of Pokémon Go, or even the new Pokémon rumble mobile game. Those were a lot simpler to understand. The other thing that I really can’t get past with this game is something most free mobile games suffer from; micro transactions. They are pretty much shoved in your face at the start. I don’t understand why they can’t stick with the model that Super Mario Run had; give a free trial of the game, with the option of a one time payment for the full title. Even if they priced it at £7.99, it would still tempt me to buy it because I know I will be not be paying anything else.
Anyway, to conclude, I would actually recommend this game to Pokémon lovers and Gacha style games enthusiasts, but sadly, it’s just not for me.

Great but always room to improve
Overall i think this is a great game so far with unique gameplay without dwelling to far away from how Pokémon is played like Pokémon go or duel did. I guess my problem is that you’re forced to have pikachu as your partner which I personally don’t like as it probably means your character won’t be effective at higher levels and I have to admit I’ve never used pikachu in my team in the other games because there are a lot of other Pokémon I like a lot more. As well as that, I’d also like a bit more character creation (preferably by earning items or completing challenges instead of paying real money). Also a little thing that was in the back of my mind is secondary weaknesses for example water Pokémon are weak to grass but not electric. Still though great job!

Great game, a few tweaks needed though
All in all love the game so far. It’s enjoyable playing a new interpretation of game rather than the usual Pokémon games.
I understand it’s a new game and somethings take time to be changed, however I think only being able to obtain other characters using paid gems isn’t right and you should be able to get them with the gems obtained in game, and if your worried about the amount of scouts each player could do increase the amount of gems needed to obtain new characters. Finally I think that your character that you create at the start should have more input into the game like being able to change its partner Pokémon as from my experience so far unless there is a type advantage it has no significance towards the game.

Honest opinion with few hours played
Started playing today and already I can feel the addiction growing being a Pokemon fan. The game runs smooth and the graphics are well designed one problem I have come across is the game makes your battery really hot so you have to close it down every so often before your phone gets problems (hopefully tech team fix the issue soon).
Building your team and squad is fun but the paywall with gems earned and gems bought is really going to be an issue with majority of players. Hopefully this is thought about and changed too. I get games have in app purchases but why have some items that can’t be bought with earned gems?
Not worked out how or if you can evolve your persons Pokemon but that would be nice if you could the more you progress the levels.
Games got potential and it’s looking good so far. Hopefully the battery issue gets resolved soon as it’s annoying wanting to grind but being hold back with this 😆

A perfect game with one problem
The animations in this game are truly amazing! I am an old school pokemon fan who still plays games like Pokemon yellow to this day because I can’t afford the latest Nintendo devices and games. So seeing all these animations and effects is in a way relieving and exciting to see. The game offers you a creative storyline and you can’t play any Pokemon game without a evil team to fight against so install the game to see what evil dead’s and odd cult name they have this time! The only downside for this game which I was hoping to not happen is the fact that it’s pay to win. I guess you can’t change it now but I think it would be better if they got rid of all their in app purchases and made it so people had to grind. I know they have to make their money but at the same time it puts off a good amount of fans. But apart from that this game is great and I suggest you install it now!
